Exit Polls

What does the CNN Exit Poll (Dem, Rep) tell you?

MORE:  Can I have a cross-tab check?  The 18-24 category does not sum to 100% for Republicans; it comes to 93%.  Since McCain is notably lower in that category, I wonder if his youth support got lost to a typo.

They show

Vote by Age 18-24
Giuliani 15% /Huckabee 15% / Hunter 0% / McCain 27% / Paul 19% / Romney 17% / Thompson 0%

WHAT IS "GRADUAL"?  Among Dems, 43% favor an immediate withdrawal of US troops from Iraq; 51% favor a gradual withdrawal, and 5% say "Leave 'em there eating sand".

Depending on the meaning of "gradual", the NH Dems are not as committed to defeat as their leaders.

HOMEWORK:  Based on this exit poll (and with huge and hugely improbable assumptions that NH Dems mirror Dems nationwide), which of the two major candidates will pick up more Edwards supporters if/when he drops out?

But why would Edwards leave us?  As another fine looking fellow said to a charismatic black leader, he's got no place else to go.

Percents don't need to sum to a hundred when the Ron Paul effect is in action.
======================

Wht do exit polls tell me?

That polls are stupid.

Why should Edwards leave the race? He's taking federal funding.

Think of Edwards as an earmark.

If Edwards is smart he will stay in. Obama or Clinton could crater and once it is a two person race he could look more electable than the other--whoever that might be.
