Hillary adviser Sidney Blumenthal busted in New Hampshire for going 70 in a 30 MPH zone while apparently under the influence - will Hillary's supporters get MADD about this? C'mon, this is now! Obama's abuse was years ago.

Good point! OTOH look how long the local press sat on that and ask whether they would have had it been Rove. And Sid was ging 70 in a 20 mph zone--remember, the last minute disclosure about Bush's DWI indicated he was going too SLOWLY.
Love it that Sid refused a breahtalyzer--

Well, you know what they say...Seventy's the new thirty.
Might as well link the mug shot again.

Has anyone EVER asked Hillarity if she tried drugs in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, now? Has anyone asked her if she has ever been on antidepressants for being married to a philandering husband that lies so well? ::Cheshire smile::

Tops! Don't pick on Hit that way! I think all liberal men should wear that outfit, it matches their intellect.

So that's how a lie is able to go halfway around the world before the truth even gets its boots on!

This is how I picture JOM men:
JOM MEN
I am posting a picture of John Wayne, not because I am old, but I just googled "masculine men" and fear for my daughters future.
Try it, you will understand. We really need a new direction for this country. "What Does Change Mean" because I think that means more of the same. God Help Us!

Wasn't there supposed to be a press conference held the day before the New Hampshire primary in which information damaging to the candidacy of one of the Republican contenders would be revealed? What happened? Did Rove get to them too?

Elliott, I think you're referring to NEWSFLASH: Romney's a Mormon or whatever that book is called.

I thought it was something about McCain and he talked the NY Times out of it? Or was that just a rumor or something so stupid it didn't matter?
Posted by: Syl | January 13, 2008 at 11:34 PM
a rumor **of** something so stupid

I hate webpages that change WHILE you're reading them. townhall and breitbart are driving me crazy.

Well, I guess there is 'results oriented' community organizing, and 'personal insight oriented' community organizing.

Granted, German air defenses were decimated by that time, but the bombs were not very 'smart' back then. Condi, can I have a redo?
Better, can I answer without a half century of mishigas perverting the interpretation?

Ann, for your next picture of John Wayne, try to get one with a regular Model 94 Winchester instead of the model with that big circular lever. That circular lever makes it hard to eject the spent cartridge casing and gets caught in the scabbard under the saddle when pulling it out.
My Model 94 has the standard lever. I like it. Don't mess, partner.

McCain just put out an ad criticizing Mitt for not supporting Bush's tax cuts that he himself voted against. LOL

I'm fascinated by the argument that Fred Thompson has no management experience -- as if that was pivotal.
Jimmy Carter had management experience, and look at how ineffective he was. Harry Truman's management experience was limited to leading his army platoon and it got him a helluva lot further than Carter.

Mitt will run things for Fred.
Steve McIntyre has Lonnie Thompson in a headlock over the Piltdown Mann's Crook't Hockey Stick.

It's hard to take Johnson's new explanation seriously. He mentioned something in 'the book', and I'd say the odds favor what's on page 140:

Poor fool; it takes a bubble the size of a heart chamber to have much chance of causing damage. This is an urban hospital legend, created wholly clothed from the horror of watching an air bubble in its inexorable progress down the IV line to your stunned and helpless wrist.

I hope somebody does some intense follow-up on the Blumenthal story. In particular, I want someone to make damn sure that scumbag spends his three days in the jug. Too much to hope that we get to see him in cuffs and leg shackles; I don't think they go in for that kind of stuff in those small burgs in New England.
Posted by: Other Tom | January 14, 2008 at 10:19 AM
The metaphor persists. There is much of Obama that is Urban Legend.

Update | 6:30 p.m. Bill Burton, an Obama campaign spokesman said: “His tortured explanation doesn’t hold up against his original statement. And it’s troubling that neither the campaign nor Senator Clinton — who was there as the remark was made – is willing to condemn it as they did when another prominent supporter recently said a similar thing.”
After all the years of Glenn Greenwald's stupid theories about the GOP cult, it is hilarious to see how credulous many Dems are when it comes to their own candidates' lame statements and explanations.
I also wonder if any bloggers in NH knew that Blumenthal went out drunk driving. I didn't see anyone write about it at the time.

Alcohol is SOOOO fifties. Blumie should have stayed home and smoked the chronic instead.
That way, at least he'll come across as a youthful revolutionary, and Hillary could wear his bust on her lapel - because, you know, it's all About the Children('s vote).
Instead, now she'll need to lean on her media-friends again to make this one disappear down the memory hole.

"Reefer madness"--not THAT was a movie. Every junior high kid saw it along with "Man Without a Country".

From the Newsweek piece about Blumenthal:
If I were the cop that arrested Blumenthal, I would see this as a threat.
Posted by: MayBee | January 14, 2008 at 11:09 AM
Here is the profile for Sid's lawyer (under my name)
Posted by: Jane | January 14, 2008 at 11:42 AM
He's an ex-cop and I think perhaps his brother is the chief of police.
Posted by: Jane | January 14, 2008 at 11:43 AM
Well, for sure there's no evidence that he targetted Sid and spread the news of the arrest to damage Hill in the election.
Posted by: clarice | January 14, 2008 at 11:59 AM
Well, for sure there's no evidence that he targetted Sid
He'll still try and tar the officer as a stalker though.
Posted by: Topsecretk9 | January 14, 2008 at 12:06 PM
I dunno, if the lawyer's brother is the chief of police, I small a deal more than a tar.
