But Biden Is More Generous With Other People's Money
Sarah Palin and the First Dude gave more to charity in the last two years than Joe Biden gave in the last ten, despite his higher income. But he supports higher taxes on other people, so we know he is truly compassionate and giving. Just not out of his own pocket.
INSUFFICIENTLY HERALDED: One of the great things about the Palin candidacy is that we aren't forced to endure more whining from Michelle about the high cost of piano lessons and the horrors of student loans.

Charity, schmarity.
Paying taxes is patriotic.
Right?

When I heard this story reported it came with a statement from the Obama/Biden campaign saying that Biden gives cash at his church and he and his wife give their time. (Like he goes to that restaurant that isn't there and hangs out at Home Depot.) But what I was reminded of is a picture I have seen of Palin working at a building site that I believe was a Habitat for Humanity project.
Sorry Joe, Sarah wins again.
Posted by: BAW | October 04, 2008 at 03:55 PM
Well, Sarah didn't pay her taxes ...
... or didn't pay sufficient taxes at the time she and Todd filed for an extension
... or they had an accountant who said "Hey! write a check for $2,000 and that'll cover it."
or something.
Anyway, if they haven't all ready, teh Leftards will be shrieking that Sarah's a tax dodger.
Despite the fact that it's the tax preparer certifies the result.
One particularly disturbed Leftard who's blogging at The Atlantic will be shrieking that Sarah's claim that Trig is her baby should be investigated by the IRS.

It looks like Palin is going to force the Obama/Ayers issue.
See Drudge.

Bumper, I believe you are being snarky about the leftard blogger at The Atlantic. However, your snark may prove to be quite prescient. Sullivan is becoming more deranged every day.

I am very worried about Joe Biden being a heartbeat away from the presidency.

So Sarah's witchdoctor contributions are subsidized by American taxpayers?
Posted by: TGO | October 04, 2008 at 04:25 PM
bio mom,
It is pretty scary. If something happened to Obama then Pelosi would have Biden declared brain dead and take over. Who could argue with her?

I'm hearing something about Hannity on Fox at 9 PM EST Sunday--1 hr on Obama and all his shady or worse, friends.

If we had an unbiased media in this country, McCain would be leading by 20 points. As it is, the alternative media is raising enough issues that the truth may still get through to the average American before the election.

I posted this link last night in a mostly dead thread, but I think it needs more discussion.
Obama Claims He Never Worked For Acorn
From Obama campaign’s disinformation website, Fight The Smears:
From a thirteen year old article from the Chicago Reader:
And never mind that Project Vote is simply a front for ACORN.

psychologically, this is interesting. Both Obama and Biden gave almost nothing to charity, and yet they are the ones who get the "compassion" vote? Our values have become pretty skewed.......

I find it interesting that leftists like TGO believe that the Watergate break-in is morally comparable to planning and carrying out terrorist acts that intentionally kill innocent people. Good luck with that argument with anyone but leftists.

I heard that Biden actually takes money out when the basket is passed around. The campaign clarifies that Joe is just getting change back.

The small Obama lead right now is based entirely on the fallacy that Republicans were responsible for the finance debacle, actually caused by the mortgage crisis where we know the Dems are to blame. That perception could change. Dick Morris thinks Obama has peaked too early.
Posted by: ben | October 04, 2008 at 06:13 PM
This is a shocker. According to Ace, Palin was introduced by NOW and ""There's a special place in hell for women who don't support women."
Posted by: Sara (Pal2Pal) | October 04, 2008 at 06:13 PM
Interesting graph. There's little doubt the public is blaming the GOP for the Democrat-engineered GSE meltdown. (The talking heads try to pretend it's the debate, but the timing is obviously wrong.) I don't know if that meme can hold through the election, but if it does, look out! It'd be nice if elections were decided on something besides leftist MSM [redundant] propaganda, but . . .

"TGO believe that the Watergate break-in is morally comparable to planning and carrying out terrorist acts that intentionally kill innocent people. Good luck with that argument with anyone but leftists."
That has been the centerpiece of his defense of Obama. But TGO's ignorance is shared by a lot of people or Obama wouldn't have so much support. Unfortunately there is trend towards assigning moral equivalence to completely disparate situations. It's the "we deserved 9/11" syndrome

Good to see our lady go after the Ayers connection. She needs to beef that up with bullets ala Kurtz. Be specific! Ask Obama specific questions and DO NOT LET THEM GO UN-ANSWERED FOR A NEWS CYCLE. Period!
Start hitting the ENTIRE Democratic party on their lapdog performance back in 2004 with F/F. Again - BE SPECIFIC!!! Tell people to YouTube the now-classic videos of Barney and Maxine and Meeks tearing the regulator whistleblowers a new one.
THIS IS NOT DIFFICULT PEOPLE!!!

"Unrepentant Felons for McCain!!!"
TGO is probably from the bottom of the troll gene pool, but this is typical of how delusional people get. Obama would easily win the felon vote because Democrats are traditionally more lenient on crime and the death penalty and favor prisoner rights to the detriment of victim's rights. In fact, Democrats are trying to give felons the right to vote in every state.

During the 2000 Florida recounts, it was discovered that hundreds of convicted felons had voted in Florida. Of course, we don't know how they voted, but it's not hard to come up with an estimate. As I recall, roughly 3/4 were registered as Democrats, 1/8 as Republicans, and 1/8 were independents.

Tapper: McCain 'About to Open Up a Can of Whoop-ass on Obama'
Posted by: Sara (Pal2Pal) | October 04, 2008 at 07:28 PM
The McCain campaign should quote that at every opportunity "The New York Times claims that Obama's 4 year working relationship with a 60s radical who's bombs killed three pepole is no big deal". Then Johm McCain should tell the viewers that he had a 5 year relationship with much worse torturing killer communists and would never try to make an issue out of Obama's associations.

I love it when newspapers let reporters do stories about things of which they're totally ignorant:
First, the headline writer confuses 'tax bracket' with tax rate. Which could have been cleared up with a simple Google search.
Second, business income is found by deducting from gross receipts, BUSINESS EXPENSES; things like rent, interest expense, depreciation, electricity.... Expenses, not 'deductions'.
There's nothing unusual in what Todd Palin reported. Sheldon Cohen is an idiot.

"Democrats are traditionally more lenient on Democrat crime."
It helps that the majority of Democrat politicians have law degrees and know how to get around the laws while working with media venues which are majority Democrat.

McCain was busy being tortured during the time that Ayers and all the various radical groups were wrecking havoc in America. He missed it all, including the race riots that burned so many U.S. cities. Those of us who lived thru that time and lived in some of those cities know the danger. I don't think McCain realizes just how bad it was while he was the guest of the VC. America changed drastically between 1967 and 1973.

What alternative do they have?
This is a lady who screams about everyone in federal government taking advantage, and she's taking every advantage she can
Palin complains about Democrats like Rangel hiding investment income for decades, or like Frank sleeping with executives of government finance companies he regulates, or like Dodd getting sweetheart mortgage deals from private sector companies he regulates - yet she has the nerve to have a spouse take legitimate business expenses.

The thing that I scream about is people that want everyone to pay more taxes while they personally take every deduction possible, or incorporate themselves to lower their rates.

And, the fact that Obama has, year to date, spent $439,840,235 for the sole purpose of touting his credentials as President - and managed around 50% should speak *volumes* about His leadership ability.
Half a Billion for this? Gawd - Obama is a one man semi-demi-hemiquaver of an economic stimulus package for Boooosh.
