I don't know if this was posted on another thread already (from Iowahawk), but I thought it was great.

Election Analysis: America Can Take Pride In This Historic, Inspirational Disaster

My favorite was the closing paragraph: "So for now, let's put politics aside and celebrate this historic milestone. In his famous speech at the Lincoln Memorial 45 years ago, Dr. King said "I have a dream that one day my children will live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." Let us now take pride that Tuesday we Americans proved that neither thing matters anymore."

I think that's the best stunt I've heard in a long time, Jane and hit. And Jane kept a straight face. If and when Mark ever gets it, he's going to laugh, too. Maybe clue in Victoria.

The auto and finance industries along with the rest of the economy are tanking and we are in 2 wars with no end in sight -- and you say Bill Ayers? Are you a moron?

Trying to censor the discussion here, eh?

Can we discuss Bill Ayers here? Yes, we can!

Confederate Yankee

Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, and other WU leaders signed a formal Declaration of War against the United States more than 40 years ago.

Did they ever sign a formal peace treaty?

If not, are they still technically enemy combatants?

CY

I think that point was rendered moot by the decision that disallowed the evidence gathered against them while erroneously bconsidered to be enemy combatants. Or something like that...

We should nick name Obama's civilian national security corps, like "lucifer's brigade;' fighting a declared war against bad community organization.

Daydreaming about politics:

What Democrats say they believe in, they don't do.

Republicans actually believe in the good things Democrats say, but effective policy doesn't work very fast. Working slowly reduces unintended consequences, but Democrats don't have the patience for it.

The credit crisis is due to a lack of confidence. Thus we elected a confidence man. We selected the wrong George C. Scott character instead of Patton we got the Flim Flam Man. So now we have the black swan under the Paper Moon.

sbw, I think you deserve a RUSH "Right On, Right On, Right On".
Pitch perfect today, like many days.

And lastly, did anyone watch part two of the Greta interview with Sarah Palin?

Greta was eating moose chili and loving it. Sarah Palin described killing a moose and how her dad, being the senior, butchered the moose and several people "bone the meat". She also said moose is healthier than beef and cheaper. I could go on, but be on notice tomorrow the MSM will field dress Sarah Palin. Good lord, she is so authentic and down to earth, maybe we should all move to Alaska. I just love her politically incorrect honesty. I also think women should think about eating moose. It might make you smart, honest and great looking.

jeanedcrusader

As said eloquently by BGates, this anonymous source mysteriously appears to support whatever point the illuminati is trying to make about Palin, and also miraculously when the conservatives are trying to pin something on Ayers. This source is undoubtedly the same source because he is clearly very, very top level clearance and knows things that nobody else would know. We are fortunate that he's in so many places at the same time and learned his spy skills on Alias.

rhymin' simon

Who really cares about the media smears on Palin made now. The vast majority of the muddle class does not have an attentionspan of more than one day. In the off election of 2010 we will see who the true leaders of the GOP are.

By the 2012 debates Palin will clean Romney or anyone besides Jindal's clock in a debate. During the next two and half years she will bone up on foreign policy and judicial decisions.

In the current Palin kerfuffle,it seems that the GOP is reverting back to the Goldwater era when we had the Rockefeller Republican and the Paleocons (John Birchers). The GOP should state it is for the common man versus government and union bureaucracy.

No.M. Operations Officer 7

Alias was about Plame. Her dad was an NSA spy. Maybe people figured she was 'cause her dad was and, like, everyone knew this. Air Force always meant spy. Look at the CIA directors and the move to DoD. All air force, Plame's daddy.

'I've been spying since I was 14.'

The polls say we all like to be told what to do by luciferians. Dems are the most oppressive. 'The power is the opiate of the masses.' Luciferian accidents, etc. We can all be dems!!! We won't ned anybody!!!!

As far as the source, i think they're finished.

This is the best time of the election cycle for me. All the campaign BS is over and we get to see the winner begin making decisions.

Clinton promised a Cabinet that "looked like America", remember? Did it turn out to be any more "diverse" than W's Cabinet? In demographics? Political philosophy? Nah.

But did the press ever compare the two? Nah.

A Picture is Worth Several Thousand Words

LUN

pagar

Good Morning to all!

Just another reminder of what the William Ayers crowd in education is bringing to America with the help of America's labor unions.

"Obama file 49 How Communists, Socialists and Obama Can Change America "

"DSA and CPUSA controlled unions got Barack Obama (and dozens of other socialist Democrats)elected."

"DSA and CPUSA fronts use those beholden politicians to promote socialist policies inside the Democratic Party."

"By using front groups like Quentin Young's "Physicians for a National Health Program", the communists and socialists can advance their agenda under a false flag. Their sympathisers and allies in the Democratic Party can then promote and vote on those policies, claiming them as their own-leaving the public in the dark as to their true source."

"The socialist threat to America, comes not from abroad, but from the DSA/CPUSA controlled unions, their front groups and their allies in the Democratic Party."

"That is how a few thousand dedicated activists can influence and in some cases control, the political direction of the mightiest country on earth."

"How much easier will it be, now that their man has the top job?"

LUN

While America worries about Gov Palin's wardrobe.

Captain Hate

Even if I don't always agree with her, I like reading what Camille Paglia has to say. Her words on Sarah Palin should be required reading for the witless trolls that show up here flush with pride in their ability to regurgitate by rote their Astroturfing points. But her best putdown is for Billy Bombthrower. LUN.

Btw, I heard at HA that the Maverick decided not to name any names to the chin last night regarding who in the campaign was maligning Palin (thank God somebody reported on it so I didn't have to watch that garbage). I guess he somewhat deserves the benefit of the doubt in that maybe Sarah asked him to hold his fire so that she could deal with it herself. Still if it was a conservative in his sights, does anybody doubt that he would've gleefully pulled the trigger multiple times?

PeterUK

"Who really cares about the media smears on Palin made now. The vast majority of the muddle class does not have an attentionspan of more than one day."

There is nowhere to move to; you know this Clarice, so do those who fled oppression in other lands. I take my tag not from Narciso Rodriguez, but from Narciso Lopez, the statesman of the Cuban independence movement
of the 1850s. Greta's interview was good, a little soft at times. Lauer's style is still distressingly off the reality. Now she'll be going on the Prime Time version of the View; Larry King, where they really did speculate on whether Trig was her kid,
and they gave Michael Moore, the fatuous twin of Mustafa Setmarian (ever seen them together, in the same room)an hour to spout
his delusions. Chris Shays, who was targeted in part for his early advocacy of GSE regulation; and even for his defense of Sarah Palin went on there yesterday, and had to open up the impeachment, Schiavo,
(as if life issues don't matter)and all the other old wounds. I hope she admonishes them to actually look at somebody's record
before speaking. Oh I forgot, the other guy
didn't have one; still doesn't. He never had an actual contest, except for the primary with Bobby Rush. We don't know where
his money came from; and all of America's enemies backed him. But by all means, talk about Piper's handbag and Sarah's wardrobe, yet again.

PeterUK

"Walid Phares: "How can we ally ourselves with Iran in Afghanistan and tell them we don't want them to have the nuclear bomb at the same time?"

There is an essential silliness to the media today, which Paglia also points out. Where are the giants of journalism today, to call the 'profession' to account. Oh, yes. Along for the ride. Nonetheless, political physics exists outside the park, and they'll never understand why the car flew off the tracks.

Just as people will suddenly remember it was said Obama was a Muslim when he does a deal with Iran.

People will remember this. Probably need to save it before it goes down the memory hole. I'll give this bullet train til March 2010-elections are coming up in Dec in Iraq and June in Iran and the price of oil is still going to be falling putting pressue on his supporters (Russia, Iran Ven) budgets. Obama might be looking for Islamist and Socialist revolution (hopenchange) and no one except the "Court of the Chicago King" would want to join.

I'm a bit surprised the media is going to let him get away with the ACORN fraud, his campaign finance fraud, and his illegal coordination with outside groups, but since he'll "heal the planet" I suppose mortal laws don't apply. I'm less surprised that he would be using his "transition" 501c4 (like Tides?)to set up a parallel government and stunned that the media is wholly uncurious as to what is the purpose of that 501c4 abomination.

I can't even think of an analog for the kind of treatment she has received-it really is The New Digital Maoism. John Podoretz on the Obama daughters: LUN

More disturbing, perhaps: What if their school classmates decide to post cellphone videos of them on YouTube? What if rumors about their conduct hit shameless, willing-to-say-or-publish-anything sites like Gawker? One heard things, almost certainly invented, about the Clintons and their relationship with Chelsea from Washington people who claimed to know the truth because their kids went to school with Chelsea. But that was before the Internet really exploded.

Protecting Sasha and Malia from the mainstream media will be easy for the Obamas, because the mainstream media will go along. Protecting them from the world beyond it will be harder.

The internet does make the situation different from previous presidential family's situations.

Rick Ballard

"Is there any way the financial system can recover with all those MBSs still floating around and property values dropping for the next 2 years?"

Sure. That's what the quiet rule changes concerning adjusting terms of existing mortgages are designed to do. The process involves conversion of ARMs and ALT-As to standard 30 year, 90% LTV mortgages with a maximum of 38% of verified gross earnings allowed to be applied to mortgage payments. I haven't seen anything about the rule changes counting as a prepayment, therefore removing the mortgage from the MBS pool, but I would be unsurprised if it did. If it does - viola! - no more Stinky Stuff!

Property values are getting very close to real replacement cost right now. It would be rather unusual for them to drop below cost of replacement but I suppose they might. Briefly.

Barak's Baby Killer Brigade would have to go into superoverdrive in order to curtail demand for shelter. I'm sure that they (and he) would be happy to give it their best shot but that's a bit unlikely. I hope.

They make it seem as if only those two were integrated---they all are. In fact disproportionate numbers of the US blacks admitted to the top schools come from this handful of schools.

We also have an outstanding new superintendent of schools and some first rate public schools, including bi-lingual Oyster school where she sends her kids and where O can get his dream of having hus kids learn another language.

PUK, I heart Steyn as much as anyone and he may be right, but he may be wrong, too. The reason we've operated as we have since somewhere in the mid 1980's is because that's where the consensus seems to be, and it hasn't changed that much. Congress is already doing its part--proposing outrageous things which no rational president can go along with--which means O may be spending more time fighting against the far left than with it. Ok--I may be a Pollyannah but it is starting to look that way.
