Rahm: "I could have been an 'O' tendah".
=========================

MAKE THEM LEAVE!

And St. Stephen's Day.

From the world that bought us the rebuttal message to the Queen's Christmas message.

"WOMEN IN ISLAM: “Female education is against Islamic teachings and spreads vulgarity in society” "CLOSE THE GIRLS SCHOOLS OR WE'LL BOMB THEM" 'WE FORBID POLIO SHOTS FOR CHILDREN!"

Atlas Shrugs has the complete story. LUN

Remember, Obama claims their call to evening prayers is the sweetest sound on earth. Article

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/12/obama-richard-1.html

Looks like Bill Richardson was adept at "pay to play" too....

IIRC St. Stephen, my namesake, got stoned.

I am sure some Dead Head will post the lyrics to St. Stephen. Happy St. Stephen's
Day everybody. Happy Kwanzaa.

Make who leave, Jane? Did I miss something (a troll invasion?) over the holidays?

Ugh.

I did a search at Amazon a while back to see, "Did Caroline Kennedy really publish much of anything?" The downside is that long after that, under "You might be interested in...," they keep suggesting her stuff as though I might actually be interested.

Perhaps Jane is referring to her houseguests, centralcal...

Oh, ha ha - I hadn't thought of that, Porch!!

Yeah, I can relate to that.

in other news, it is being reported that Caroline Kennedy's lack of donations to democratic candidates in New York is costing her political support in her bid for a Senate seat. In addition, her affair with Punch (Pinch?, Ponch? Pooch?) Sulzberger has raised questions about the breadth and depth of support for her attempt and whether the New York Times is in fact, in the bag for the publisher's squeeze.

Now why can't the MSM simply write something like that?

TM, Happy Boxing Day!

Thanks for providing this little box for us all to play in... and for filling it with sand, too.

You know when you know that people care; to paraphrase Sallie Field, who's really gotten under my skin this year with her moonbat pronouncements; "They really, really hate you" Such is the glorious misinformed diss of 'Our Sarah' in the recent Newsweek CW; how off is it, did Andrew Sullivan joins their staff. It's so imminently fiskable.
That it should be worn as a badge of honor. It shows that as Dennis Miller, puts she "really gets in their noggin"; and the ticket was upside down. I'm sure someone else will do a proper fisk, Don Surber, but here goes;

"Ill informed" (they really have to stop confusing Sarah with that inferior product of the Upper Darby public schools, Tina Fey, on energy, foreign policy, taxes, guns, life issues, constitutional rights,
whathaveyou shopoholic (not that she was, but if she didn't look so good, you wouldn't care) with an Ego as big as Alaska (the irony is too deep to consider)she is still? the darling of the right. To pen a screed that vile takes dedication. Ten years ago, I would have thought that might
be an overblown criticism; but warranted. Now, it just inspires my enthusiasm for her,
I can quit at any time, right

Senate Candidate number three and earmarks and non-profit foundations, shady husband and BDS:

• A 2006 ABC investigation revealed that while Save a Life received millions of dollars in government funds and corporate donations, it made a series of "misleading claims [including] deceptive credentials that raise doubts about [its] integrity, funding and training." According to ABC, founder Carol Spizzirri represented herself as a registered nurse specializing in kidney transplants. But ABC claims she never received a degree of any kind nor was she ever registered as a nurse.

This lady is gonna give Illinois politicians a bad name.

LUN

"I can't quit you, girl......"

btw, Fox News should have come to my town and filmed the food fight getting into and out of our Wall World today. No gloom and doom about no shoppers here.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas!

Boxing Day is January 6th, not Dec. 26th.

Bad, Guess who was teaching the Obama volunteers?

"Robert Creamer, the husband of U. S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill) who was sentenced to jail for running a community group and paying himself big bucks while banks held the bag, has been teaching a group of young (mostly) volunteers for the presidential campaign of Barack Obama...."

From the American Thinker LUN

What would you call that-the corrupt teaching the corruptable?

narciso:

Why is Tina Fey such a burr under your Sarah Palin saddle? She did a terrific, really entertaining, impression. It's not as though SNL has any obligation to be fair, but they treated McCain/Palin better than they treated most of the Dems. In the bit with Palin and Hillary at the podium, for example, Hillary came off as nastiness personified, and they weren't exactly kind to Obama and Biden. Satire is their job!

In comparison, John Stewart became so uniformly anti-Administration, and so defensive about urban liberals vs stereotyped conservatives that he's been almost unwatchable for the last couple of years.

JMH: You better tell your friend Mark Steyn that, he thinks it is today, too!

JMH, I think your Boxing Day and mine must be different.

January 6th is Epiphany — The last of the 12 days of Christmas.

Boxing Day is January 6th, not Dec. 26th.

My British friends always had us over on Dec 26th to celebrate Boxing Day.

Probably so, she's clearly a crazy moonbat, wanting us out Colombia, Iraq, probably Afghanistan; but I though she was sincere.
so much for that idea.

Maybe that's where the idea got started, centralcal! We always celebrated the 12 days of Christmas and then took our Christmas tree down -- on Boxing Day.

Horseface and Pinchy had an affair? ROTFLMAOKOCP! (knocking over Christmas presents)

BobS & Pagar-

You have to live here to truly experience the abilities of the criminal, I mean political class of the Great State Of Illinois.

It really does strain the imagination.

But you can start wid dese guys (LUN).

Pinchy and Horseface had an affair? ROTFLMAOKOCP (that's knocking over Christmas presents)

My Filofax also tells me today is Boxing Day.
I think the Hanes family may have had its own Boxing Day.

Peter (US, not UK), you are wise to not go with the PUS designation.

Pagar, I'm sure (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more)that Obama knew nutting at all.

lol Maybee

Make who leave, Jane? Did I miss something (a troll invasion?) over the holidays?

Perzackly. And I have my wish. I hope I am the only person who utters a huge sigh of relief when the holidays are over.

Jane, family visits are lovely and even lovlier when they are over. Win, win...

Well if you must know. JM, there are a couple of reasons, why I hold Tina Fey
in ill regard. One centers of the oft
quoted film 'Mean Girls' which Tina wrote
and co starred in, along with Lindsay Lohan, and it was about the popular clique
the Plastics, lording it over the fish out
of water, missionary kid, and for spite, framing the innocent math teacher played by Tina. I though she had captured something important about outsiders and insiders. Apparently not, from the outset, Tina acted
very much like the Queen bee, orchestrating
this very unflattering portrait of Sarah; it did capture her essential decency; but it made her look like an idiot, and not even in the good natured impressions of Will Farrell or even the hatchet job done on Chevy Chase. Even after she met Sarah, she continued to do the routine; not modifying it one iota, with the last round making here scheming and manipulative; with
the Palin 2012 teashirts and the "White Oprah" crack. This impression was clearly in the mind of the clearly misinformed Obama voters, specially the "I can see Russia from my house" crack. McCain was a good sport about that last bit, but it was in no way a flattering portrayal, it was of an old man. who had lost his dignity and self respect, never mind the grueling costs
he has borne. Although the former bit proved
ironically prophetic.

I admit that it's probably unhealthy to identify so much with any one person, much less a politician; but I see a lot of promise in her, and the Fey performance which someone else defined as being paid
to bull#@$@$ about what's in the news, pardon the language, to obfuscate reality, to drop into down the "Orwellian memory whole, to fill the rest with incendiary accusations, accusations of impropriety, and even pornnographic images along with the
complementary Couric and Gibson edited
interviews, along with all the other garbage
lies in wait on Youtube and Google caches, rubs me the wrong way. I joke about some of this like the Newsweek diss, but it does mask the kind of feelings I've had for about four monthes now. In so far as Tina
has facilitated any part of this, I have a deep contempt for her. The things that have been said, alleged imaged, stagger the conscience.

My English aunt always called the 26th Boxing Day.

My darling bride and I showed up at Nordy's at nine this a.m. (not realizing they had opened at eight) and the place was a zoo. Guy in men's shoes said it's busier than any pre-Xmas day. She got herself some nifty pegged skinny jeans (nobody else her age can wear them) and I scored some very hip Ferragamos.

And now we prepare for gridiron Nirvana.

That's also why I find Blago's quoting of Kipling's "If" offensive. If anyone is entitled to quote it's Sarah, but she doesn't need to, because she lives with every action she takes. He's a crook and I feel sorry that Fitz is on his tale, but he
deserves what he gets. That's why I flipflop on whether she continue this effort; despite all the good she might be able to do. Is the cost of all this vitriol to her family and herself too high, for one person to handle?

Dot,

I bet you and Mrs DOT are a sight to behold.

Narciso,

Should she decide that the game is worth the candle, can she overcome the credential bias within the Republican party? We now have black trash coming to the WH who I fully anticipate will outdo the white trash of the '90's in terms of wholesale thievery, misfeasance and malfeasance. All four of the individuals involved in both couples sport wondrous Ivy League degrees that lend an unearned patina to the cheapest dross imaginable.

Sarah does not possess that patina (gold does not possess it either, oddly enough). If she chooses to try and struggle to penetrate the dross and dreck generated by the well credentialed cretins who manage to ruin most of what they touch, I will certainly support her but I'll never say a word should she decide that association with such riffraff is far too high to pay.

I always assumed that it was bankers who decided to define the day after Christmas as the "official" Boxing Day, in the same sort of economy which relegates holidays to random Mondays. If New York is typical in the States, though, it seems investment bankers themselves don't take the 26th off any more, even if it falls on a Friday -- although I don't suppose there's anything typical about this year on Wall St.

Contra MayBee's filofax (because I could never be contra MayBee!), I've apparently been celebrating an even more ancient tradition (scroll past the sponsored links), which starts with St. Stephen and ends with Epiphany & the gift giving (alms to the poor!) associated with the Three Kings. And really, in all Obamian humility, isn't that a more persuasive explanation of Boxing Day traditions than you've heard from defenders of the 26th, so far?

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it! And confidently keeping my Christmas trees up till the 6th too!

When I was grown to be a man (grown to be a man)
And the devil would call my name (grown to be a man)
I'd say now who do,
Who do you think youre fooling? (grown to be a man)
I'm a consummated man (grown to be a man)
I can snatch a little purity
My mama loves me, she loves me
She get down on her knees and hug me
Like she loves me like a rock
She rocks me like the rock of ages
And loves me
She love me, love me, love me, love me
And if I was president (was the president)
The minute congress call my name (was the president)
I'd say who do,
Who do you think youre fooling? (who do you think youre fooling)

I've got the presidential seal (was the president)
I'm up on the presidential podium

My mama loves me
She loves me
She get down on her knees and hug me
Like she loves me like a rock
She rocks me like the rock of ages
And loves me

"Love Me Like a Rock" -- Paul Simon

Obama's Transportation Department head big on earmarks, short on transportation experience:

On the other hand, with Mr. Obama planning what looks to be one of the largest single increases in federal spending in history, Mr. LaHood may be exactly the man for the moment. Though a Republican, as a fellow politician from Illinois he's also well known to Mr. Obama and his new chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel. The only "change" he represents is the greater share of American income he'll eagerly spend.

LUN

Credentials, is that the issue; who would have the gall to determine credentials in this instance, I know it's a rhetorical question. Those who botched this campign utterly, the oft mentioned communcations
staff (Wallace & company)who else Adelman, Ensign, Pressler, Eagleburger, Armitage?
The only credentials enter into it, is this
contaminated information flow; that I referenced earlier, like cyanide in the city water supply. It's become for me an issue about truth and honor, and integrity
and decency. This why I come here, I'm interested in the truth; I sound like farging Howard Beale. I don't get it from the McClatchy paper (the Herald) or the Tribune paper (the Sun Sentinel) I rarely get even from the cable, much less the regular nightly news. and the 'supposedly apolitical' glamour and entertainment press
is actually worse. This is why I've been so insistant about the Libby and Black cases; and I rightly don't give a flip about Blago's fate. If we don't take a stand here, when the lies have been so vast and vile; what's the point of it all. We might
as well go back to Bismark's comment about settling things with steel (and lead) in the streets

Sorry about some of the intemperate language of late and eccentric syntax; people who know me, would say I'm a very polite and even tempered person, Although they would be a little surprised to keep my enthusiasm to my self; in professional circles I once thought I had I had writer's bloc, I guess I've solved that problem; editing is still my weak point.

Too many semicolons, narcie.

IIRC St. Stephen, my namesake, got stoned.

So it's an impediment neither to the presidency nor to canonization.

Don't you start TCO; "I'm rolling"

Elliott...

Heh!
