AoS now has a thread about Operation Alaskan Chaos. Go daddy go!!

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

Wouldn't it be hilarious if daddy provided just enough chaos to sink Madcowski and put Miller over the top?

caro

What a great American story, daddy. You are a hero for getting that going yesterday.

Write in "daddy" for US Senator from Alaska! Oh,wait.

Threadkiller

Daddy, I sit here so inspired by what is taking place. I am proud to comment among "you people."

--“...except the damn dog ate the back cover and last Chapter of my "History of Cook Inlet" while I was in trying to give Fagan his paperwork---rotten dog.”--

Go nice on the pooch. When he is done digesting, he will be making history, just like his "Daddy."

:-)

Janet the tea-vangelist!

Send me your address & I'll buy ya a new copy of "History of Cook Inlet"...heck, I'll get ya 2. One you can read & your dog can eat the other one!

Porchlight

The only thing I worry about, and I hate to be a buzzkill, is that Operation Alaskan Chaos might draw votes away from Miller as well.

Please disabuse me of this wretched and ridiculous concern, someone! I'm running out to a meeting but will be back shortly.

Porchlight

Eh, never mind, I apologize. The Miller people are smart enough not to waste their vote on a write-in. Let's hope the Murkodoodledoo and the McAdams folks aren't.

That buzz is an angry hive.

Awareness of the chicanery can't hurt Miller, P.

The updated ADN story says "at least 100" write-ins signed up before the deadline yesterday. I bet many of those were less for a particular candidate than they were for the rule of law. I know they're venal enough, but I wonder if the Dems and Mooskeester are stupid enough to sic their "find the dirt" brigades on those brave 100?

hit and run

Dan Riehl, the originator of the idea for Cold Chaos, has http://www.riehlworldview.com/carnivorous_conservative/2010/10/how-alaskas-elections-division-became-swamped-with-write-in-candidates.html>put up a post covering the events.

Too bad there was not enough time to get every "Lisa" and every last name starting "Mur..." to register...

Lisa Merdooski

Goddamn you assholes, confusing all my crackhead constituents who can barely remember their own names.

http://www.elections.alaska.gov/ci_pg_cl_2010_genr.php#uss>Here's the list of write-in candidates that filed. Three Lisas and one Lisa M to go with our Daddy.

Jim Ryan

Zero will be here in a few hours to campaign for Perriello. It will cost Perriello a few votes from Dems who will be offended by the stink. It will gain him a few GOTV votes from infrequently voting Dems who don't follow the news. Perriello will pick up two points as a result.

The Dems have had nothing but smear to run on here. Can't run on Perriello's record of Cap and Trade, porkulus, and Obamacare, especially after he caved along with the Stupak pseudo-prolife dozen on abortion.

Hurt will win 52 to 46. The other two points go to the independent dork who has tanked and who promised he'd get out of the race and not be a spoiler if he tanked.

There are two Tea Parties downtown today. One's a rally. The other's a policy seminar given by a panel of good speakers. On Sunday, Governor McDonnell and AG Cuccinelli will be in town with Robert Hurt for a rally.

Captain Hate

O/T Moochelle on Ellen yesterday should really get out the vote::rolleyes::

Clarice

I read that Lisa was handing out temporary tattoos with her name on them --now we need to do that for the other Lisa M

Old Lurker

Hit...that list is wonderful. JOM rocks.

daddy, I am sure it's unrelated but 2 UPS planes from Paris are isolated on the Phila airport field and another in New Jersey is upon a tip from French authorities about radioactive material in a package. Be careful.

On the issue of Tribe's letter to Obama on the SCOTUS vacancy, LUN is a nice analysis of the significance of Tribe's use of the term "progressive pragmatism" in describing the desired judicial philosophy.

Boy does that remind me of all the stealth socialism and use of the term communitarian to obfuscate how the desired change to a system utterly corrupts it.

Jim Ryan

Ask yourself why Laura Mikleczevsi is doing so well in the polls. It's Dems who are bouying her. They are voting for her instead of their own because, as bgates intimated, they hate conservatives. The term "nihilism" could be applied correctly here.

Clarice

The plane held at newark originated in Yemen. It, too, reportedly has a suspicious package onboard.

Thanks for the link to the list, Hit. Loved this name: Lee Hamerski!

With only a few days until Election Day, Democrat Jerry Brown holds a slightly smaller lead over Republican Meg Whitman in California’s gubernatorial race. The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Brown picking up 49% support, while Whitman draws the vote from 45%. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate, and three percent (3%) are still undecided.

I wonder if daddy and other write-ins yesterday had to give their real names? Will the actual ballot have added info (website/address) as hit's list of 100 shows, or just the names of party candidates and a blank line for a write-in?

Yep, Clarice, saw Rasmussen post that on Twitter this morning. Keeping fingers crossed.

From rse's link:

"The importance of this letter goes beyond what it says about the personalities involved. It reveals that when they think we are not paying attention, liberal jurists and their political allies are quite frank with each other about their view of the Supreme Court as just another political institution, and the Constitution as a document that does not shape the Court’s behavior but is instead shaped by it. This is actually just the way many legal scholars talk and write among themselves, but they usually take pains to conceal this instrumentally political view of judging when they enter the political arena, such as in testimony during Supreme Court nominations. The Tribe letter shows that in the back channels of political maneuvering, they revert to type."

Ol' Larry Tribe was instrumental in the warping of the constitution for McCain, and thereby placing Obama in as POTUS against a week opponent.

I like Hit's list. I love Lee Hamerski.

I'm less impressed by how many write-ins listed their party affiliation as Republican. That seems to be missing the point, unless it's some kind of Democrat chaos.

Clarice, I can't get it to link but the Gay Patriot site is reporting that the Calif public employees union has spent 300 million in the past 5 years to keep Democats in power. Than they complain about how much Whitman is spending. With what the Unions spend, Democrats don't have to spend anything.

Another site reports the Democrats are spending 45,000 dollars plus to tell people to vote for a candidate that died last week.

The money spent by public employee unions dwarfs all other spending in the 2010 elections. It can not be allowed to go unchallenged.

Indeed! I may not be able to do any better than lighting some candle on some pumpkin -- but is there anything more Gore-shaped than a nice round pumpkin?

Forty-five percent (45%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19 (see trends).
Rand Paul now has a double digit lead in Kentucky.
Overall, the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Balance of Power summary shows Democrats likely to end up with 48 seats and Republicans with 45. Seven Senate races remain Toss-Ups (California, Colorado, Illinois, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Washington, and West Virginia). Republicans need to win six of the seven Toss-Ups to win control. Currently, Republicans have a slight edge in five of the Toss-up states while Democrats have the edge in two.
In the California Governor’s race, Democrat Jerry Brown leads by four points moving that race back to Toss-Up status in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Gubernatorial Scorecard. Republicans are projected to hold 28 Governorships after Tuesday, Democrats 12, and there are 9 Toss-Ups (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maine, Minnesota, Ohio, Oregon, and Vermont). If projections hold, Rhode Island would be the only state with an Independent Governor.

UPS bomb story

Update 12:36 p.m.] Police determined a suspicious package found on a UPS truck at Metro Tech Center, a business center in Brooklyn, did not contain anything harmful, a law enforcement official said.

A package in London, England, that has sparked alarm about cargo arriving into the United States had white powder all over it as well as wires and a circuit card attached, a law-enforcement source said. The package came from Sana, Yemen and was bound for Chicago, Illinois, the source said. Investigators are examining two similar packages - one on a plane in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, and another in East Midlands, in the United Kingdom.

[Update 11:53 a.m.] A suspicious package was found Friday morning at East Midlands Airport in England, authorities said. They did not connect the discovery to the discovery of a suspicious device aboard a plane at London's airport.

[Update 11:38 a.m.] A bomb squad in New York City is responding to a report of a suspected explosive device inside a package aboard a UPS truck in Queens, the deputy police commissioner said Friday. Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Browne declined to say whether the discovery is connected to the incidents at the Newark and Philadelphia airports.

Yes, the indicators keep piling up. Coons reverses and says he will vote to extend all of the Bush tax cuts. Then word that Coons is running negative adds against O'Donnell. The post earlier this week that Dems were going into DefCon1 looking for more money for Coons. Now backing out of debates with the race tightening makes him look like he is running and hiding.

The Gawker hit sounds like something set up a couple weeks ago to be used only as a last resort. Coons' internals must be very scary indeed.
