I saw that guy on the primary ballot. At least he's not a criminal.

Arkansas will go Mitt in the general, though. It's all local dem's, national rep's for the last few elections.

pagar

I would think a more real threat would be:

http://www.whitehousedossier.com/2012/05/18/ariz-secretary-state-threatens-remove-obama-ballot/

"said he requested the confirmation eight weeks ago and has not gotten it. Hawaii, he said, does not have to supply a certified copy of the birth certificate, merely send him an email confirming that it has one."

8 weeks and no one in Hawaii's government is willing to confirm they have a birth certificate for Obama?

centralcal

Interesting, pagar!

Clarice

What will be worse, Obama as President or Michelle as TV personalty?
ARGH!!!http://www.michellesmirror.com/2012/05/amateur-and-other-amateur.html

Ignatz

--What will be worse, Obama as President or Michelle as TV personalty?--

Definitely Barry as Pres. I can shoot my TV without fear of repercussions (well, legal ones anyway).

Clarice

Good point, Iggy. and imagine the new possibilities for pay offs if she has a tv show AND he's re-elected.

pagar

One can always pull the plug on the TV.

Jim Ryan

AP reporting Obama born in Kenya. Must have just been a fact-checking oversight.

scott

OT: I want to give a big shout out to Swiss badass Ueli Steck, who summitted Everest last night without the use of supplemental O2, sherpa support, or fixed lines. Dressed lightly and moving fast, the purist style. Well done, sir!

Chubby

the picture of obama at jim ryan's link says it all

Ignatz

Noted campaigner against poverty and for debt cancellation, Bono set to become billionaire on cozy Facebook investment.

Carol Herman

Gee, I was hoping for an indian war dance. With whooping sounds, and all. Maybe, instead of "hope" ... we'll get an increased sales in moccasins?

The news, like the tide, ebbs ... or it comes crashing back to shore. "Hope's" not jumping as high as he use'ta.

"But don't get cocky."

Dave (in MA)

Jim, any relation to Jack, Mr. 7-of-9, mentioned in the article? ;-)

Clarice

Add noted tax evader to Bono's achievements.

Ignatz

--AP reporting Obama born in Kenya. Must have just been a fact-checking oversight.--

The link had this 'update' link to Snopes which states it wasn't the AP which said he was Kenyan born but some local headline writer for one paper.

Laura

Scott,
Incredible on Steck, he is a one off and is rewriting the limits of human ability.

NK

Bono?-- to my knowledge he's never made any bones about making tons of money, and obviously he actively avoids taxes using legal means. But it's also the case he has given vast amounts of money and time to charitable causes, while scolding other rich people to follow that example. Honestly, he seems to be following the teaching sof St. Ignatius Loyola. Why is that a problem?

daddy

Speaking of Bono.

More BS from our President today, attempting to elevate himself by glomming on to the hip crowd: Obama: Bono inspired me to sing at Apollo.

Jane

The link had this 'update' link to Snopes which states it wasn't the AP which said he was Kenyan born but some local headline writer for one paper.

I wonder where the local reporter got that information. It's an odd thing to just make up.

Ignatz

--I wonder where the local reporter got that information. It's an odd thing to just make up.-

Jim's link said it was a Kenyan paper.

Jim Ryan

Dave, no. But I did watch that show a bit back in the day. I liked 7of9 and Captain whatserface.

Davod

Furhman and Baden are on Megan Kelly's show. blaming Zimmerman for everything.

Ignatz

--Honestly, he seems to be following the teaching sof St. Ignatius Loyola. Why is that a problem?--

It's not when he does it personally.
But when he calls for the taxpayers of the West to be forced to follow St Ignatius, by swallowing dictator's debts and being forced to "tithe", as he put it, part of their budgets, he is,
1. Improperly applying Christ's call to personal individual charity to the collective state and,
2. Forcing people who do not share his enthusiasm for St Iggy's example to join him in doing so.

Seems obvious to me why both of those are problems.

Captain Hate

More BS from our President today, attempting to elevate himself by glomming on to the hip crowd: Obama: Bono inspired me to sing at Apollo.

He might lie more than Clinton.

Ranger

I think we really are approaching the Rubicon this time:

Merkel 'suggests Greek referendum on euro membership'

A Greek government spokesman said Chancellor Merkel had come up with the proposal during a phone call with the Greek president on Friday.

I doubt there will be a single Euro left in any Greek bank my close of business Monday.

lyle

He might lie more than Clinton.

A Promethean feat.

lyle

lyle

Stupid software.

Jane

Jim's link said it was a Kenyan paper.

Ahhhh. It seems odd to me to go to a Kenyan paper to get your news about a Chicago pol. I'm probably just a racist.

NK

CaptH-- but the Once does not lie nearly as well as Billy Boy Clinton. Actually no one lies as well as Billy Boy Clinton.

Dave (in MA)

hit and run, your URL needs an 'l' at the end, or a direct link to pull up Sara's comment.

Rob Crawford

So Insty links to a Popular Mechanics article on 10 science-fiction faster-than-light technologies... and I can tell you how they got the description of one of them completely wrong.

And name some notables they left out.

Is it bad being that big of a geek?

Porchlight

I actually think Clinton was a pretty lousy liar, although perhaps better than some of his peers. But he looks especially good at it in comparison to the Won we have now.

hit and run

Thanks Dave. From where I'm posting linkin' ain't easy.

But I try.

Captain Hate

Yes Porch, I couldn't believe the gullibility of people regarding Slick's whoppers. Of all his cabinet, I appreciated Stumpy Shalala for at calling him out for lying to them re Monica, about which the red nosed predator didn't take very well.

Tammy Bruce is blasting Sarah Jessica Parker who, to get over the pain of being too old to compete in the Preakness, is hosting a fund raiser for El JEFe because of her impoverished family in Ohio needing help from the government. Somehow the option of helping them out herself seems to be eluding the bright girl.

lyle

Sarah Jessica Parker who, to get over the pain of being too old to compete in the Preakness

I'm really glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read that, CH. Thanks for the laff.

Dave (in MA)

Rob, was it the frakking FTL or the frelling Starburst?

NK

Porch/CH-- I was in awe of Clinton's ability to lie b/c, I am convinced that when Clinton tells a whopper, he is metphysically certain at that moment he is telling the absolute truth. The pathology of his lying is spectacular. Hillary on the other hand only tells well thought out lies, so she knows when she's lying.

Danube of Thought

I think it was Bob Kerrey who said Slick was an "unusually good" liar.

Let's face it: starting with JFK, more than half our recent presidents have been extremely weird people.

Dave (in MA)

Nice, Cap.

Danube of Thought

Anybody figured out how to stop the "credit card services" calls?

lyle

Not Ronald Reagan, DoT!!

Just kidding. I think you have to have some, for lack of a better word, weirdness in you just to aspire to it.

pagar

"It seems odd to me to go to a Kenyan paper to get your news about a Chicago pol."

It might not be terribly odd for a Kenyan.

lyle

Oh, I overlooked the word, "half." Mea Culpa.

Captain Hate

They're everywhere!!!

DoT:

Donate to Obama's campaign.

sbw

I'm hoping no one here is in a position to judge Slick's whopper, if it is one.

rse

DOT-I hate those too. Would you like to lower your interest rate?

I don't pay one. I don't want to start. It will be Red Beans & Rice first.

"If you are not currently insolvent, we are offering you the chance to become so."

Don't miss last night's commenter complaining that I wanted to sell what I know.

I was tempted but did not sarcastically make a comment about the government not wanting to use its taxing powers to pay me.

I do think we should popularize the contrast between tax producers and tax consumers. It really is not just an alternate way of bringing in income.

cboldt

-- Is it bad being that big of a geek? --

Not just "no," but "hell no!"

Big fan of physics here. Particularly enjoy Susskind and Greene, find that LHC chick to be not so good a writer (but she is brilliant), and am ever so amazed that the closer we look at things, the more they "disappear."

Porchlight

Sarah Jessica Parker who, to get over the pain of being too old to compete in the Preakness

LOL, best thing I've read today

Jane

This is the woman who says she made the error on Obama's bio.

I wonder who wrote her bio!

daddy

Bill's a better liar because he had to lie to Hillary. Obviously plenty of practice in that marriage.

Hillary is a pretty poor liar actually, because (ala Cattle Futures) she never had to worry about if her lies were believable or not since the Press wouldn't ever question her. Whatever she tossed out there was good enough for the MSM, until of course she ran across the Bosnian Tarmac dodging bullets with 2 Obama supporters, and for the first time ever she found one of her completely bulls#$t lies questioned.

BTW, how stupid does a reporterette have to be to know that Jesse Jackson is married, to realize he's already been caught fathering a kid with another gal, yet still start up a fling with the Reverend?

pagar

I think the Sarah Jessica Parker story is small potatoes compared to the really important:

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/05/18/did-elizabeth-warren-plagiarize-pow-wow-chow-recipes

I wonder how current that bio is? 1991 is 21 yrs ago----she talks about a book she worked on being accepted a few months after her hire 17 yrs ago.

cboldt

-- it is that headbobbing and black preacher cadence, gets them every time --

A form of hypnosis involved.

daddy

Breaking! It just keeps getting better:

Liz Warren is now Cole Porter!

"Two of the possibly plagiarized recipes, said in the Pow Wow Chow cookbook to have been passed down through generations of Oklahoma Native American members of the Cherokee tribe, are described in a New York Times News Service story as originating at Le Pavilion, a fabulously expensive French restaurant in Manhattan."

"Crab with Tomato Mayonnaise Dressing," was a favorite of Cole Porter!

DID ELIZABETH WARREN PLAGIARIZE HER 'POW WOW CHOW' RECIPES?

Fab! So Obama the Kenyan is channelling Bono, and Liz the Cherokee is channelling Cole Porter.

Or maybe she's Wallis Warfield Simson: "The (plagarized) dishes were said to be particular favorites of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor"

DoT, when Wallis came to visit, did your aunt's ever mention Cherokee Tomato mayonnaise?

daddy

And now Alan Dershowitz channels Tom Maguire:

From Megyn's show, responding about the released evidence:

"Almost all the media recognizes the situation has changed. The one media that hasn't is The New York Times. The New York Times still reports as if the evidence is overwhelming that Zimmermann is guilty, indeed they end a story in today's newspaper shockingly by quoting an unnamed source that made a phone call to the police alleging that Zimmermann may have some racist tendencies. That violates the Times own policy about sourcing. They would never have written such a statement about an unsourced allegation by an unnamed person regarding Trayvon Martin. The Times has a position on this case and it allows that position to influence it's reporting."

Porchlight

Or maybe she's Wallis Warfield Simson: "The (plagarized) dishes were said to be particular favorites of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor"

Paging DoT to the white courtesy phone.

Nice CC,

But Mary Katherine needs to work on her pronunciation of "Pa-Pah".
She's not quite pronouncing it like an authentic Native American.

centralcal

lyle: you will love Mark Steyn's column today. He addresses Oklahoma crabs and Obama of Kenya - an excerpt:

Even in a world where everyone's incredible, some things ought to be truly incredible. Yet Harvard Law School touted Elizabeth "Dances with Crabs" Warren as their "first woman of color" – and nobody laughed. Because, if you laugh, chances are you'll be tied up in sensitivity-training hell for the next six weeks. Because in an ever-more incredible America being an all-white "woman of color" is entirely credible.

Entering these murky waters, swimming through it like a crab in Mrs. Warren's tomato mayo, Barack Obama refined his own identity with a finesse that Harvard Law's first cigar-store Indian lacked. In 1984, when "Elizabeth Warren – Cherokee" was cooking up a storm, the young Obama was still trying to figure out his name: He'd been "Barry" up till then. According to his recently discovered New York girlfriend, back when she dated him he was "BAR-ack," emphasis on the first syllable, as in barracks, which is how his dad was known back in Kenya. Later in the Eighties, he decided "BAR-ack" was too British, and modified it to "Ba-RACK". Some years ago, on Fox News, Bob Beckel criticized me for mispronouncing Barack Obama's name. My mistake.

centralcal

Exactly, Daddy. Had a friend (originally from Alabama) who always referred to her grandparents as paa-paw and maam-maw. Man, what Bad could be doing with these accents were she still around today!

cboldt

Okay, we have W6, and it is a "he."

One of the most important eye-witnesses to the Trayvon Martin shooting, a neighbor who told police Trayvon was straddling George Zimmerman, pinning him to the ground, changed his story once prosecutors took control of the case.

The man, identified in prosecution documents as "Witness 6," originally said Zimmerman was the person screaming for help as he fought with the unarmed 17-year-old from Miami Gardens.

But a few weeks later, on March 20, while sitting for a follow-up interview by a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigator the witness said he was no longer sure who was calling for help.

"At first, I thought it was the person on the ground, just because, you know, me thinking rationally, if someone was on top, the person on the bottom would be yelling," he said.

Now, though, he said, "I truly can't tell who, after thinking about it, was yelling for help just because it was so dark out on that sidewalk. You can't see a mouth …"

Key witness in Trayvon Martin shooting: I'm no longer sure Zimmerman was crying for help - By Rene Stutzman, Orlando Sentinel, May 18, 2012

Melinda, it all fits.

Pow Wow Chow is a gay Indian cook book:

Don't forget Twinkies and Tinky Winkee.
Oscar Meyer Balogna and Oscar Meyer Barney Franks.

And the hero of the movie, Little Big Man, was Jack Crab!

Bonus question. What was the name of Jack Crab's gay Indian friend?

Second bonus question?

Who had better lloking long golden locks?

General Custer?

Or Big Chef Elizabeth?

Jane

I wonder how current that bio is? 1991 is 21 yrs ago----she talks about a book she worked on being accepted a few months after her hire 17 yrs ago.

That's very interesting. Someone needs to tell the people at Breitbart if they don't know already. How soon after you are taken on as a client is your bio developed.

Mel, I didn't get it.

Jane-

I shamelessly used a gay stereotype, wrt Cole Porter. ("Gays know all the show tunes")

Best line of the week.
How many times would she have to clop her hoof to tell us her age now, anyway?

matt

Just back from a day in Northern Louisiana running around in the woods with paratroopers. These guys dress up as Afghans and play the opposing force to much larger units. Great merriment for them. Not so merry for the Regular Army chasing them.

We were honored at lunch by the presence of the base commander, a 1 star of Hawaiian/Chinese/Japanese background; in other words an average American.

It's nice to think of this as the alternative normal to the lunacy we have to deal with when we become too addicted to the political and news cycles.

I would rather be arguing the merits of running around the Afghan mountains with a 100 lb+ rucksack fighting Afghans running around with an AK and 3 magazines with a 24 year old Spec 4 than the alternate universe of Warren and Trayvon any day.

Rick Ballard

c-c,

Here's a Mason-Dixon LV poll, 3 points overweight Dem and 3-4 points underweight white, which counterbalances the FNC silliness yesterday. It has Romney over Obama at 47-44 with 9% undecided. The 80% support level among the ever shrinking group who still identify themselves as Democrats is consonant with the President's proven ability to drive away the semi-faithful.

The ACME Express just keeps on rolling - over Democrats.

Ignatz

--Anybody figured out how to stop the "credit card services" calls?--

My method, which has worked great for a couple of years now, is give everyone you never want to hear from a landline number that is never answered and has the ringer turned off (I only use it for DSL internet).
For everyone else use a cell number.
Presto, almost zero aggravating calls.

Jane

I shamelessly used a gay stereotype

Mel,

I use gay stereotypes all the time, that's how they become equal. It's the special treatment that screws with things.

centralcal

Thanks, Rick.

I just haven't been much of a fan of Fox polling for the past few years now (not just recently). It always seems to favor the left in its results.

DebinNC

Corey's Witness6 sounds like the 13 yo dog-walker.

Janet

I'm disheartened that the Obama/Kenya bio story isn't bigger. I don't think the WaPo has mentioned it (I keep doing searches on their site).
I sent Instapundit & even Jack Cashill the bit that MJW pointed out about Kenya listed on the bio & Hawaii in the book.

I think that's a true statement. He's running in the footsteps of giants. Messner's solo of the north face stands as one of mankind's greatest achievements. The photo's alone in 'The Crystal Horizon' tell the story of some true 'Audacity'.

centralcal

Oh Dear! NRO has uncovered more plagiarism by Native American Elizabeth Warren, this time in a book co-authored with her daughter about money!

I can hardly wait for the next cigar to explode - guess it better happen fast before someone pulls her off the stage with the cane.
