Occupy JoM!!!

Rob Crawford
Broadcasters have a nice study in contrasts available - they can show the so-far peaceful protests agasint the regime here in the US and contrast them with the violent protests overseas.

ITYM, "so-far generally peaceful protests". Hard to overlook the assaults, rapes, murders, and bomb plots that Occupy has spawned.

Can't you recognize agitprop?
Yeah, and that article ain't it. Read this line from the original convention speech, written by Peter Wehner and squashed by Stuart Stevens:
“The incumbent president is trying to lower the expectations of our nation to the sorry level of his own achievement. He only wins if you settle."
Was there a line that good in the speech Romney delivered? Is there a Politico reporter good enough to write that line?

Kurt

When I heard the local news reporting on this "anniversary" this morning, I debated calling up the local news station and asking them if they knew what the anniversary of the Tea Party movement was, or why they don't mark the passing of a year or more since significant Tea Party rallies. Of course, they would protest that they don't know when those things occurred or something equally vapid, but that would also be the point of making the call.

Captain Hate

The anniversary reminds me of a clip on the local news after most of the bridge bombing scum had entered a guilty plea. Some red hair out of a bottle skeezer who was the (obviously single) mother of one of OWSers was whining to the camera about how her son was a "good boy" who'd been entrapped by the eeeeevil undercover agents. Because "good boys" enter guilty pleas all the time.

I got this in email: a poster of Nikita Kruschev, holding his fist aloft and with a firm expression on his face.
"We will Barry you."

Along with a quote I never saw before (no idea if it is valid)
"We cannot expect the Americans to jump from capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of socialism until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism." Nikita K 1959

No link, but the web page attributed with this is pretty fascinating.

Jim Ryan

225th Anniversary, to be precise. I'm sure that's what the patchouli crowd are celebrating: The Constitution.

By dint of a number of unusual circumstances, this country was lucky enough to have about a hundred or so very keen and insightful men decided to apply their talents and wisdom to the creation of a constitution that would limit government and preserve liberty in a republic of virtue. They succeeded, and the document is the finest legal document ever produced by Man. In fact "finest legal document" woefully understates the achievement. One might say they produced an "ideal constitution" and be forgiven for the implied presumptuousness.

Regular Joes like me get to live under the rule provided by the document (to the extent that we have maintained the requisite virtues in the republic, anyway), and for this I am immeasurably grateful to our Founding Fathers. Due to increasing levels of vice, we have more and more ignored and violated this document's laws over the last 100 years. It is time to restore it over the next few decades to its rightful supremacy.

Jim Ryan

No, I'm getting word that the Freaky People are not in fact celebrating the Constitution. My mistake.

MarkO

Celebrate mediocrity. Look, one of them can speak! Tingle.

Danube of Thought

JimR, I revere the document, but I feel that its role in limiting government has been very seriously eroded over the past 75 years. I'm quite sad about it all.

Jim Ryan

DoT, yes, we have our work cut out for is in restoring it.

Letters of Delegates to Congress: Volume 8 September 19, 1777 - January 31, 1778 James Lovell to John Adams
Dear Sir, York Janry. 1st. 1778. The year is rendered quite pleasing to me, in its beginning, by the arrival of your favour of the 6th of December, which assures me you were then in health with your lovely family.(1) May part of that happiness long continue! I say part, for I wish you may e'er long be in France, or at York Towne. Your aid has been greatly wanted upon a most important transaction. We have had a call for your Stores of Grotius, Puffendorf, Vattel &c &c &c to support reason & common sense or to destroy both, just as your Honour & Da & Du & Dy should interpret the text.

Is the media for real celebrating a failed OWS movement that included a death, multiple rapes, arrests, tear gas and littering an anniversary? Insanity and over the cliff mentality remain in NY where they can no longer enjoy super-sized drinks.

Is Mommy-Fauxchahontas speaking at the OWS anniversary?

Did the dude who took a crap on the cop car come back for a memorial bowel movement?

QUOTE The September Empire State Manufacturing Survey indicates that conditions for New York manufacturers continued to weaken. The general business conditions index slipped another five points to -10.4, its second consecutive negative reading. The new orders index fell nine points to -14.0, its third straight negative reading. Both of these measures reached their lowest levels in almost two years. The shipments index was little changed at 2.8. The prices paid index edged up to 19.2, suggesting moderate increases in input prices, while the prices received index hovered a little above zero for a fourth consecutive month. The index for number of employees fell noticeably but remained just above zero at 4.3, suggesting a slower pace of hiring activity than in recent months. The average workweek index remained near zero.UNQUOTE

You smart folks out there in Jomolandia. . . is that a fair assessment? Is the bad news still bad and getting worse?

A veritable who's who of the "who cares" world.

" TOPEKA – The State Objections Board brought the issue of President Barack Obama’s eligibility to be on Kansas ballots to a swift end Monday morning.

After accepting several records related to Obama’s birth in Hawaii, Mark Dugan, Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer’s chief of staff, moved to overrule the objection and close the board’s meeting.

The board’s unanimous vote brings an end to an objection raised by Manhattan resident Joe Montgomery, who said Obama shouldn’t be on Kansas ballots and isn’t qualified to be president because his parents were not both born in the United States.

But the board’s move got tripped up momentarily when Orly Taitz, a Californian who is a leader in the so-called birther movement, pressed the board to take more time to review the documents, suggesting forgery on behalf of Obama.

Secretary of State Kris Kobach deflected her complaints, saying the board has no jurisdiction to deal with the issue at this point. Kobach said the time to file objections has passed.

“At this point, we are without jurisdiction,” he said.

The exchange grew more heated as Taitz argued with Kobach. At least one person attending the meeting stood up, apparently upset with the exchange between Taitz and Kobach.

After the meeting, Topeka resident T.J. Gaughan chastised Kobach for entertaining the objection to Obama’s qualifications. And as Taitz answered reporters’ questions, Gaughan continued to press his case.

A state trooper then asked both Taitz and Gaughan to leave the building. Their arguments continued outside as reporters interviewed them, and others, including protesters from the Occupy movement, spoke over Taitz, saying Obama’s qualifications have been proven many times over."

http://obamareleaseyourrecords.blogspot.com/2012/09/kansas-board-votes-that-obama-can-stay.html?m=1

The jurisdictional window seems to be smaller than a womp rat.

Danube of Thought

Since TK's link does not work, one can't be sure what the "important transaction" referred to by Mr. Lovell is, although it stands to reason that it was the ratification of the Articles of Confederation, which was in its early stages as of January 1778. I have no idea what influence, if any, the Swiss writer Vattel had on the Articles, but since the Articles did not provide for a president, let alone a "natural born" one, his sweeping statement about that term (erroneous as to Britain) certainly played no part.

Jack is Back

Jane,

As long as you have fools like Alan Colmes and Fox who enable his histrionics, Romney is the one lying and Obama is the one and only one who can bring peace to the world and joy to humanity.

Just like the lemmings behind Obama in all these campaign speeches I shake my head in amazement that there are people who actually agree with what he is doing to this country and now the world. If he loses in November the first thing the Defense Nuclear Agency should is relieve him of the "football".

Porchlight

Looks like a bomb threat at LSU; campus being evacuated.

I see a possible strategy here: multiple fake bomb threats at large campuses until they start to be ignored. Then come the real ones.

In case you missed this at the datechguy I posted on the other thread:

"At no time during the year do the Democrats have a registration advantage vs republicans, the gap closes in July & re-separates in August. The low point for the GOP was July for 34.9 and the high August at 37.6 For democrats the high was 34.0 in June & July the low was 32.4 in Feb

What does this mean for November? It means a lot.

The Democrats won 2 election in this period 2006 & 2008 with a 6.9 advantage in 2006 & a 7.6 advantage in 2008.

There is no example of the Democrats winning since 2004 with an advantage less that 6.9.

The GOP won two elections in this period 2004 with a -1.6 disadvantage & 2010 with a 1.3 advantage. This means the GOP has proven it can win with not only a small lead but with an actual disadvantage. Additionally with an advantage of only 1.3 they pulled off the biggest house swing in my lifetime.

Can these number change? Well the biggest 1 month swing I’ve seen is 4.2 Oct-Nov in 2010 the biggest 3 month swing was Dec 2007-Feb 2008 6.9 in favor of Democrats at the rise of Obama.

Tell me with the economy in the tank, and the new trouble in the Middle East, what is the prospect of a swing of that size to the Democrats happening again right now? Moreover even if that record registration swing repeated itself right now this would give democrats an advantage of only 2.6 points.

I’ve covered a lot of national polls on this site over the last year and all those polls ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX have one thing in common.

Not a single one of those polls had a sample with a GOP advantage.

As Rush would say: Zip, Zero Nada.

Not only have none of these polls had a GOP advantage but the closest we saw was a D+4 poll."

"The jurisdictional window seems to be smaller than a womp rat."

Danube of Thought

Wow, Clarice. Are those nationwide registrations to vote in this election?

Captain Hate

I see a possible strategy here: multiple fake bomb threats at large campuses until they start to be ignored. Then come the real ones.

The JEF needs for these to go away STAT if he wants to have even a prayer of being re-elected. This isn't "The Dark Knight" where a population will lose their minds and vote against their interests for the Indonesian.

Yes, DoT. Go to the article for details..he does provide them.

Danube of Thought

Lot's of kooks have latched onto lot's of issues, for instance the 2nd amendment and the abortion question, and have advanced some pretty kooky arguments.
That doesn't mean the issues are inherently meritless nor that everyone interested in them is a kook.

James D.

The JEF needs for these to go away STAT if he wants to have even a prayer of being re-elected. This isn't "The Dark Knight" where a population will lose their minds and vote against their interests for the Indonesian.

The population as a whole already did it once.

The people of NY, CA, IL and so forth have been doing it on a state and local level for going on two generations now.

It seems like an odd thing to be commemorating unless they want to emphasize Romney as the 1%. Except so is Obama. Is there a public library anywhere that did not buy his books? Schools?

Where is the report on there being no demonstration before the attack?

I'm not seeing it show up anywhere.

Captain Hate

The population as a whole already did it once.

They bought the empty promises and lies of an unvetted grifter against a tired husk of a candidate who ran a lackluster campaign staffed by quislings who undermined his VP choice. It was also following 8 years of media assault on a President who bent over backwards to accomodate an opposition party and governed more as a liberal than conservative including expanding entitlements. That the race ended up being as close as it did is a tribute to the nation's voters.

Clarice

Breitbart on the latest CBS poll: "Of all the polls you have seen, there is one poll that has gotten no attention, it is a poll that has been taken monthly, it is a poll that Doug Ross spotted and promoted on his site. It is the Rasmussen Poll of party identification.

They have party identification results online dating back to 2004. Here are the 2012 numbers through August

That shows a GOP advantage in registration this year but you might say: “Hey, Datechguy, you’ve been hitting polls all year, why can’t THIS poll be wrong?”

Danube of Thought

The claim that the principle of jus soli as the basis for the meaning of "natural born" constitutes a religious test in violation of the constitution is inherently meritless, and has been advanced by (so far as I know) only one man. That man is a kook.

Jane - Get off the couch your country needs you!

Ranger,

Megyn Kelly has been talking about it on Fox almost exclusively. (altho she is on to the media bias about the polls now).

Katherine Herrege (sp)got it from her sources on the ground in Libya. There was no demonstration and the consulate was attacked in a complete surprise from 2 directions.

The state department says no. But they have no evidence.

Danube of Thought

Breaking news: Mad Leo has shut down his naturalborncitizen blog, which now redirects the reader to his new one, where he writes as Dark Night Oracle. LUN

Ranger

Thanks Jane. Important to note that the story is from last week, so it puts the lie to the administration's cliam that there is "no indication" of planning.

I have been very suspicious about the claims of any demonstration simply because there have been no picturs so far that I have seen. The entire point of a demonstration is to get noticed and photographed.

Porchlight

Datechguy is mostly comparing the Ras Party ID survey results to the actual election results for all elections back to 2004 (Ras online archives only go back that far).

He does seem to be mistakenly confusing the terms "party ID" with "registration" throughout the post but his actual analysis of the party ID survey is consistent.

Shell has cancelled drilling in the Arctic this season.

Not mentioned in the ADN story is that permission to drill (but to a level 3/4 of a mile above suspected oil) was temporary and only for this season, so Shell does not have automatic permission to drill next season when they finally get their containment ships problems worked out. This means the President can say that he authorized Shell to drill, without it being realistically true and without Shell being able to drill in future. Another false narrative the Administration can use to their advantage this campaign---sound like they are good to Business while actually being solidly in the camp of the Eco-Left.

NK

Stating the obvious, who turns out to vote by definition decides who wins. Therefore, the self-ID of LVs and the leanings of the Indie voters is the biggest tell of upcomng elections. Romney will win this year's Indies, because the ABO leaners are the Indie LVs. If the Repub turnout equals Dem turnout, RR will win.

derwill

--I see a possible strategy here: multiple fake bomb threats at large campuses until they start to be ignored. Then come the real ones.--

But why bother with the empty threats in the first place, why not just do it? Create an atmosphere of fear, maybe? But real bombs would be more effective at doing that. Something strange is definitely going on here . . . but outside of a student trying to get out of taking a test or something like that, and then others jumping onto the idea on other campuses, I can't imagine what.

OldTimer

Rush is proffering the idea that the video, embassy uprisings and phony filmmaker arrest was Obama campaign inspired. IOW, they staged it all and waited for the predictable Romney statement to demean and belittle him. And, Voila!! Everyone hates Romney and loves Obama when Obama steps in to condemn Mitt's interference/intolerance. The media of course is in on the deception, and flogs it for all it's worth.

I'm trying to follow Rush's reasoning... If we have in fact been manipulated to the point of brutal murders resulting from the production of an ugly conspiratorial deception....

Rush will explain more after the commercial break. Good grief!

" WARNING FROM TEXAS CONGRESSWOMAN KAY GRANGER… An Executive Order You Should Know About KayGranger

Dear Friend, With all that is going in Washington these days some things don’t make the news the way they should. Fourteen days ago President Obama issued an Executive Order that you should know about.

This order gives an unprecedented level of authority to the President and the federal government to take over all the fundamental parts of our economy – in the name of national security – in times of national emergency. This means all of our water resources, construction services and materials (steel, concrete, etc.), our civil transportation system, food and health resources, our energy supplies including oil and natural gas – even farm equipment – can be taken over by the President and his cabinet secretaries. The Government can also draft U.S. citizens into the military and force U.S. citizens to fulfill “labor requirements” for the purposes of “national defense.” There is not even any Congressional oversight, only briefings are required.

By issuing this as an Executive Order the President puts the federal government above the law, which, in a democracy, is never supposed to happen.

As President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, he has the Constitutional authority to issue executive orders. And while similar orders have been made before by presidents from Eisenhower and Reagan to Clinton and George Bush – it has never been done to this extent.

It is still unclear why this order was signed now, and what the consequences are for our nation – especially during times of peace. This type of Martial Law imposes a government takeover on U.S. citizens that is typically reserved for national emergencies, not in a time of relative peace. I want you to know I am following this very closely. If you would like to read the order for yourself please click here.

Sincerely,

Kay Granger Member of Congress"

Captain Hate

OldTimer, please explain further because the theory sounds as delusional as Susan Rice. Or Donna Rice.

Thomas Collins

TK, or DOT, or both, I enjoy your back and forth on natural and unnatural borners and citizens, but something has slipped from my mind. Was that photo of what was purported to be Obama's BC examined in detail? My memory is that there was a consensus that the photo was of a legitimate BC, but my memory could be misrecollecting. I am intrigued by this because if the photo was of a legitimate BC (although only part of the BC was decipherable) and the online version was a fake, it indicates that Obama has a valid Hawaii BC that has something on it that he doesn't want the world to see.

To me, however one comes out on what it takes to be a natural born citizen for purposes of POTUS eligibility, the whole BC question is a great detective story.

Porchlight

But why bother with the empty threats in the first place, why not just do it?

Good question. Maybe just to get people off their guard. If a campus or two a day were threatened and consistently turned out to be bogus, I think eventually campus officials wouldn't take the warnings as seriously and might not hustle everyone off campus as urgently.

Yes, but ME terrorist types customarily don't phone in bomb threats before they detonate a real bomb so that doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Captain Hate

I have a question and am not sure if anybody here is qualified to answer it; but here goes. When the embassies in the Middle East destroy classified documents to keep them from falling into the hands of anybody trashing the place, do copies of them exist in the US or are they the only existing documents? I assume it's the former but can also see where that could cause problems with domestic leaks.

daddy

Standby for the ACLU and Civil Libertarians to look the other way and start yawning beginning now:

Feds ask NY court to block anti-terrorism ruling

Thomas Collins

Daddy, I too am outraged. Conducting an illicit affair on the public fisc is so pedestrian. What I want is a scandal in which well heeled potential donors are provided, ahem, hot looking "consultants" to help them with their fundraising decisions (as some highly touted football prospects have been provided with "consultants" to answer their questions on campus life). No offense to grads of the NC university system intended, but without more, this scandal is a snooze!

Sue

I am listening to Rush. I wonder who is mishearing, me or Old Timer? Because I'm not getting any kind of conspiracy theory vibe from Rush. He had a parody at the beginning which sounded strangely like a real press conference between reporters and Obama, but other than that, I've only heard Rush say what has been said here. That Obama and his minions, which includes the press, are lying about what happened in Benghazi.

Captain Hate

daddy, you know how it pains me to say anything positive about the Holes, but your soon to be ex-chancellor obviously has more integrity than Brodhead.

OldTimer

Hmmm, I guess the point Rush is making, is the Obama campaign is seizing upon and not letting go of the "Christian" video maker as the instigator of the Islam uprisings---therefore, all "Christians" (hint, hint: Romney and the Republicans) are dangerous, intolerant subhumans and will cause future Islamic wars and can't be trusted.

The Obama base-voter will get the message and turn out in droves to vote against the hateful Republicans to save the planet and themselves, according to this analysis.

He may be correct.

Jim Ryan

Rush is right. When you detect that the Obama administration is lying to you while the Libyan government is telling you the truth, you know there's a problem.

Sue

Rush is talking about the public being manipulated by the press and Obama on what happened in Benghazi. But I think I understand what OT is hearing. Rush is claiming that the press and Obama have taken advantage of what happened to claim Romney is not prepared to handle foreign policy matters. I'm not hearing Rush claiming that Obama and/or his campaign staged the attacks but staged other things, like the arrest of the film maker.

Captain Hate

Well that is stupid, but not by Rush.

Thomas Collins

Re the UNC kerfuffle:

"Further digging revealed that between 2007 and 2011, more than 50 courses in the university's Department of African and Afro-American Studies — about 9 percent of all courses in that time — featured instructors who didn't teach, grades that were changed, and faculty signatures faked on grade rolls. Many of the students taking no-show or lightly monitored independent studies courses offered by the department were football players."

Thank Gaia I went to a school that had the good sense to distribute its gut courses over a wide range of departments!

derwill

It's weird, but in spite of the fact the administration and the lapdog media are continuing to flog the Big Lie, I'm not getting the sense that anyone is believing it, not even the Liberals, really. Where are our resident trolls coming here to argue that the Big Lie is really the truth, in the way that they fought tooth and nail to convince us that that racist white-hispanic murdered that skittle-loving, angelic child down in Florida in cold blood ? It's like we're in the Soviet Union now, where everybody knew Pravda was Pravda, even the CCCP members themselves. The only difference being that we still have enough free speech left in this country that we can openly talk about the Big Lie being a big lie amongst ourselves without facing a kangaroo trial and 20 years in the Gulag.

A reasonable assumption would be that the forgery was created in Hawaii by conspirators, or, possibly without the president's knowledge, by pranksters in the Hawaii Department of Health, or as a Republican dirty trick designed to blow up a week or two before the November elections -- then the printed image was copied onto real security paper and embossed with a real seal before being sent by courier to the White House.

Another reasonable assumption would be that the digital fake was created by the White House, then electronically sent to Hawaii for the creation of the paper document by complicit Hawaiian officials.

At the beginning of his program, Rush discussed why Silicon Valley voters (as an example of entrepreneur business people) vote for Obama and the Democrats *against* their own financial interests and the good of the country as a whole. He deduced the difference is peer pressure when people are younger, but changes to a desire to be respected by the "elite" when they're older and successful. The successful elite politicians in our country are notably non-religious and on the left; Christians are generally conservative and vote accordingly, and are not considered socially acceptable by the tolerant, tree-hugging elites.

'Silicon Valley' personalities, according to Rush's analysis, strongly identify with the elite and don't believe Obama's economic redistribution will affect THEM--only the lesser classes. The SV types believe they'll be protected and sheltered because they're in the respected political class.

Rush meandered around for awhile but basically broke it all down to Obama & Crew using anti-Christian manipulation to get their base to the voting booths in November.

But why bother with the empty threats in the first place, why not just do it? Create an atmosphere of fear, maybe? But real bombs would be more effective at doing that.

True, but I imagine it's harder to find people willing and able to build and then deliver real bombs (especially people that the Terror Mastermind can feel reasonably confident will be able to build the bomb without blowing himself up, deliver it without getting caught, not get cold feet in the process, and otherwise maintain security) than it is to find a few jackoffs to call in fake bomb threats from (I guess) disposable cell phones or payphones.

OK, thanks, TK. The article you linked by Nick Chase is an interesting take on this, because it posits (i) there is a legitimate Obama BC in a Hawaii vault, but (ii) the photo was of a fake BC and the pdf is a fake. Which brings me back to what to me is the most interesting question: What on the original is so embarrassing?

The Journal, endorsing the stinking mackerel of the +13 D CBS poll is a little distressing, I outlined earlier, why all told Magarif is a good guy, considering the circumstances.

OTOH, Knickmeyer, who runs the Saudibureau, entertains the notion that the video is not entirely at fault

The birth certificate stuff is of great interest to me. I have no theories, and lack the technical knowledge to come up with one. I would dearly love to see dueling experts testify about the long form, with both subject to cross. I doubt that will happen.

Apparently, I'm not the only one to say, "Go to Hell Carolina."

Eeek. That's not good.

So should I take the dogs out, or should I go poop on a cop car in honor of OWS 's 1 Year anniversary?

Awaiting your suggestions.

Dennis Miller suggests we send over free American flags that, when lit on fire, they explode.

Catchup begins anon.

I'm fairly well persuaded the long form made public has been tampered with. There's something on it embarrassing to Obama..is the most likely reason, and suspect because it makes his life story as suspect as Fauxcahontas'

TK, the Dark Knight Oracle stuff is definitely Mad Leo. If you go to his now-defunct NBC blog, you will find a note from him indicating that he is now writing as Dark Knight Oracle, with a link to his new blog, Darkknighttruth.

He has a red alert out now, beseeching Colorado authrities to arrest a number of suspected conspirators in the Aurora killings, most of whom he identifies by name.

He's got a new sport.

Probably, clarice, but what we know of him, is plenty distressing as it is.

A couple of years back I speculated that there is some error on the original birth certificate from 1961 that makes it obvious that the what the campaign produced is a forgery -- my speculation is that some "helpful" clerk "corrected" the "obviously wrong" name of Obama's mother from "Stanley Ann Dunham Obama" to "Ann Stanley Dunham Obama".

This would make it quite simply the case of telling lies requires you to tell new lies to keep from being caught in old lies.

I'm not sure that's much of a theory, though, so I think I'll retreat back to "puzzled."

--I am missing out on DoT's posts, Iggy. Has he actually connected the quotes to Donofrio or is it the same info that came from the communist?--

I musta missed that part of the story, TK. If the stuff DoT was quoting wasn't Leo D then my apologies.
His Dark Night Oracle website does not land smack dab in the middle of kooky town yet but it doesn't seem too far out in the suburbs either.

Hey, daddy, maybe you could take the dogs over to poop on police cars? It's probably a little chilly there to drop your drawers, while the doggies have fur!

One theory is now that Obama has admitted he was born to "a single mom" his last name should have been the same as hers on the vital records.
