I am watching that game here in English, and Hamilton just had a brutal inning fielding what looked like routine plays, letting a base hit grounder go right under his glove and roll all the way to the wall, then running a terrible route and misjudging a fly ball, letting Texas get behind by five in the top of the first.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

--MessNBC and CNN harridan shows "committment to free speech" by trying to paint over it.--

LOL. That chick is like the most inept vandal ever. Why didn't she just use a can of clear lacquer and shoot it from about ten feet away?

RichatUF

Good evening all. Agree with OL's sentiment above.

This may be a race between two spavined mules but it's still a race.

This puts a smile on my face.

Still trying to wrap my head around the idea of Obama coming out and "denouncing" a video that hardly anyone saw as the reason for the riots while even the Lybian president is saying it wasn't. Another thing that I was thinking about today was the rather offkey and very late eid al fitr celebration that Clinton threw at the State department? The excuse was that it wasn't maked, but looking it up, it appears that it was.

The Fox all stars were all verklempt the night of the 2004 election and I insisted to my husband they were wrong because I believed in Jay Cost. It was only in the middle of the evening when Barone looked at the exist polls and realized they were impossible that the Fox pundits started to get real.

GMax

Don't know what they are actually saying,

Probably the same thing I am sayin... only in English.

narciso

But they really went Tufnel in Penn, with +11 D, and -1 Indep.

Pops

I didn't know cross burning was 'speech'...I thought it was a physical act of lighting something on fire.

It is understandable that a physical act of burning something could be considered as being limited by government.

But if someone made a video and SAID they want to burn a cross...I don't even think the Supreme Court would uphold arresting and jailing them for just actually using speech to get across their idea.

I mean you can't arrest me for speeding because I said on youtube I like to speed.

RichatUF

Cost. It was only in the middle of the evening when Barone looked at the exist polls and realized they were impossible that the Fox pundits started to get real.

Good grief more of this for the next 40 days. I'd rather it be a rainstorm.

Pops

I'm still trying to figure out if someone makes a Youtube video that defames the prophet...is that MORE insulting to the Prophet then say a gang of Prophet followers gang raping and beheading a 12 year old girl in the Prophets name.

Who would Obama condemn for defaming the Prophet, the guy who makes a youtube video, or the guys who riot, burn down buildings and kill 19 innocent civilians in the Prophets name?

Ohh thats right, Obama condemn the video guy and not the other guys.

Janet

"...where a crude and disgusting video sparked outrage throughout the Muslim world." ~ Obama UN speech

I would love for a "news" reporter to ask him if he's even seen the damn video. Then ask him a few questions about it. I bet he doesn't even know what he's talking about.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Seems to me sneaking a running hose into my commie Nantucket neighbor's boat or plastering very sticky Mitt, or even better, Nixon and Goldwater bumperstickers on his windshield would be much preferable to getting depressed watching TV.
You might want to wait a few hours past the All Stars just to be safe though, OL.

Word to the wise, don't use pink spray paint in broad daylight when there are two or three cameras around.

RichatUF

In re: the post article on the new propaganda that Damon is in. Epstein has a great book, The Hollywood Economist, that goes into the ins and outs of this garbage. The financial backers are most likely anti-fracking activists and eco-kook lobbyists are script doctoring the project. They've got to make their money somehow (and it would have been funny if they filmed it in Alaska).

Clarice

*exit polls*

RichatUF

Here's one of the financial backers of the project: Imagenation Abu Dhabi FZ (seems to be some financial overlap with that Plame turkey of a movie).

GMax

Brandon Gaylord in the Daily Caller detects the thumb on the scale in certain demographic groups:

But the oversampling of Democrats is only a small part of a larger problem. In addition, pollsters are undersampling groups that are sympathetic to Republicans, like evangelicals and people who make over $100,000 a year, and oversampling groups that are sympathetic to Democrats, like mainline Protestants and people who make less than $50,000 a year.

Pops

Think someone will ask Obama if he still supports gay marriage even though it offends the Prophet??

Sue

Daddy,

I bet they could understand my disgust too. It's Josh Hamilton. Grrrrr....

Janet

Great question, Pops!

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

OT, but somewhat interesting piece on the racial attitudes at the OKCupid dating site.
They're shocked that white people are more likely to want to date members of their own race.
Here's the choice takeaway;

And sadder still, according to OKCupid's internal metrics, their users are younger, better educated, and more progressive than users on other sites. Truly, the mind reels.

Perhaps their minds do. Mine just kind of chuckles to itself knowingly.

GMax

Yeah but he made up for it by striking out swinging, he said derisively...

Porchlight

I knew those 2004 exits were POS as soon as I saw them. I only wished I'd replied to my lefty brother who emailed them to me and my dad: "Those are the best numbers you'll see all day."

Porchlight

I mean, that's what I wish I'd said to my bro. Instead I tried to be nice b/c I knew he was in for a disappointment.

Clarice

No kidding, RichUF. Well, it seems the old Hollywood moguls, immigrants from Eastern Europe who loved the US had--surprise!--a better understanding of what drew the audience to shell out$$ to see movies than some twerps from Abu Dhabi.

GMax

The last time I heard a Republican strategist crowing about the Republican ground game, it was Karl Rove, who managed to gin up a historic to that point Republican turnout equal to the Democrats. Well the last time until this time, when Priebus is talking about crushing the Democrats with his ground game. So I ask you, what if he is correct? Could that generate a R + 2 turnout edge? Ras after all has it R + 4.7.

Jack is Back!

Just got back from a dinner with our schools accreditation team from the Florida Catholic Council. Surprised that the number one topic was Obama inserting himself into the NFL referee negotiations which to a person they disagreed with and you could tell that is not the only thing they disagreed with regarding his royal hypeness.

In another small telltale, Frederick's 4th grade class had to write in their journals who they want for President and why - 5 sentences. Back in 2008 when he was in 1st grade they did a straw poll and it was 12 to 9 for McCain. This year with only 18 kids in class the journal entries were 17 to 1 for Romney. Even if you consider the 3 lost kids were all Obama voters its still quite a swing since most 9 and 10 years old are most likely following their parents inclinations and not their own. Of course, Frederick watches Fox News and reminds me that after Special Report to change the channel since Shep is on:)

Go figure. Maybe they'll make a mint in wide release in Dubai? Better than those icky blue collar types in North Dakota (who after making the trek to Williston have so much money to burn Alaska strippers are making their way down there).

GMax

How about a Grand Slam to tie it up?

daddy

"Of course, Frederick watches Fox News and reminds me that after Special Report to change the channel since Shep is on:)"

Well then how about a Grand Slam to take the lead?

Don't give the Axelpuff team any ideas about stuffing the Scholastic poll (voting has started: Obama won it by alot last time). Hummm, that gets me thinking, 7-11 is running an election season coffee cup...results here are disappointing. It's a shame they don't have better coffee.

I'm not saying Ed Driscoll is being purposely stingy with an Insta-link for my President Goldman Sachs logo.

I'm sure it's just an oversight.

But for those keeping score at home it does mark the 19th time that logo and/or the post it came from has appeared on Instapundit.

The big money in anti-fracking is coming from those who have the most to lose - OPEC members. Go look at the lobbyists in New York state who are fighting this and then look at their International client list. Expect to find some ME and certain South American clients.

The way of the world.

Ann - a wild guess - Debbie Washerwoman Slutz?

Honestly, I have no clue.

Axelpuff

I realize that this likely was a typo akin to carp, but i suggest we keep it. "Puff" is German slang for a whorehouse. Fits, doesn't it?

Has anyone mentioned that the refs job wouldn't be so tough if the millionaire football players weren't engaging in deceit every play?

What are we teaching our kids? "Lie until caught" is the path to success and if the cops don't catch your opponent lying, like you lie, make a federal case that the cops act stupidly.

Captain Hate

I bet he doesn't even know what he's talking about.

This can be a standard sentence to use whenever the JEF opens his yap.

TK,

“I don’t know what’s worse; the fact that I’m wearing dainty red lady boots, or… wait, no. I guess that is the worst.”

Lol, Captain! Over at MOTUS where they discuss Moochelle's various fashion disasters, they refer to it as a "containment system." Looks like Debbie borrowed FLOTUS's for the photo shoot.

Captain Hate

Ever squeezed a balloon, Cap?

I'm not ruling out a blowout, Iggy. Hell, that might be what liposuction becomes under JEFcare.

They are also underwriting the Bigelow film 'Zero Dark Thirty' the one they leaked the names of CIA and Seal personnel to,

Janet

More on Cherokee Warren. Elizabeth Warren listed Cambridge as “primary practice location” with Texas Bar

Might be in heap big trouble.

MAM

GMAX - I don't remember where I saw that R + 2.5 figure. I am puzzled how Romney can be winning Independents and "trailing" so badly in the swing states. FLA, Ohio and PA have all seen a loss in Dem registrations and an increase in Repub registration since 2008 and Ohio has seen dramatic population losses in counties that went big for Obama. Is Romney not getting enough of the Republican vote? I think the polls are junk but I still sense that Romney is in some trouble.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but: Another fiscal cliff appears the end of the year. And we're just now find out about it. Maybe Mel has more.

There's Another Imminent 'Cliff' You Should Know About, And It's $1.6 Trillion Tall

Great link narciso.

"This is a long term investment on the part of Imagenation. You don't look at capital gain immediately."

Make it up in volume. Always a winning business stratagy.

The worry from the start was that Abu Dhabi was wading into territory the emirate knew little about. Hollywood is always eager to hoover up cash from any source that offers it, and this ambitious spit of a nation was no exception.

Ha. I love it. Caveat Emptor...a fool and his money...Hollywood is the epotime of greed.

LOL, Janet.
Reminds me of one time my wife and I were in line at Macy's or some similar place and this amazingly good looking couple were just in front of us. The girl was a striking blonde with way too much makeup on and these creepy skinny jeans etc. Her skinny boyfriend dude had even skinnier leather pants, even more makeup, a wife beater, a Pat Benetar hairdo and a pair of boots remarkably similar to those red lady boots. The dude was voguing it up, which seemed to be his natural state.
I felt bad cause I kind of involuntarily laughed at him and he seemed a little embarrassed. For all I know he was laughing at the big hairy dude laughing at him, but Jeebus what a ponce. Ever since I've marked that scene as the event which confirmed in me the irreversible decline of western civilization.

Photoshop has come a long, long way, baby.

Vogue must have had a much bigger budget to meet the DWS challenge. I always wonder what else is growing in that greasy tangle of hair.

Possible reason for Hamilton's fielding difficulties.. caffeine and energy drinks. LUN

I sure as hell hope RR are up to this challenge because lots of stuff is coming due in the next few months.

And don't forget that FM/FM are holding a lot of housing inventory off the market to keep prices up. Should they choose to dump that on the market in spring 2013, things could get really ugly really fast.

Here's a nice little way to unfairly help one candidate while hurting his opponent:

"In one Ohio ad buy slated to run just before the election, for example, Obama is paying $125 for a spot that is costing a conservative super PAC $900. The imbalance could prove crucial over the next five weeks, when the presidential candidates and their allies are expected to burn through about $1 billion worth of advertising in battleground states"

It's a WaPo story: With more control over campaign cash, Obama gets more discounts on advertising

He gives you a waiver, you give him a waiver. What's not to like.

I tweeted your Ostrich Pillow idea, daddy.

I think every member of our Press Corps needs one. They're already practiced at ignoring reality, but this would just make it easier for them.

BTW, Just caught Wesley Clark on an International Panel discussion honcho'ed by Piers Morgan, explaining that we need to become International Citizens of the world.

MAM,

Ras is D+2+ at the moment. If you're nervous - find info on the state of play in OH-01 (Chabot), OH-06 (Johnson) and OH-16 (Renacci), VA-02 (Ringell), VA-05 (Hurt) and VA-09 (Griffith), FL-02 (Sutherland), FL-25 (Rivera) and FL-18 (West).

Those districts will give a decent sense of the state of play for each of the states. You'll be cheerful after doing the requisite homework.

Holly

Jane, I'm trying to catch up, so I don't know why you're asking about inactive status with state bars, but I can tell you that Texas requires 15 credits/hours of CLE yearly to maintain good standing as an active lawyer (plus $250 in membership fees). I have been inactive for 20 years (no CLE, $50 membership fee). Twenty years ago CLE courses were a pain in the arse. My lawyer buddies today say they do CLE online and it's a lovely experience, painless and effortless. It usually costs $100 in course fees plus undisclosed amounts in "other" fees. :)

Clarice

If Vogue can do that to DWS, what the heck does Mochelle really look like?
