Wait until Obama names the next 2 Supreme Court justices.

Our best hope is that he'll be replacing Ginsburg and/or Breyer. But Kennedy and Scalia are getting up there.

The CBS report says Clapper made the change and the CIA signed off on it. Who at CIA?

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Republican policies "attack" "people of color" precisely to the degree that Dem policies have cynically and intentionally made them dependent on government handouts on the lovely new virtual plantation of the 21st century.
And just like the old one, creeps like WeeDavey tell minorities it's good for them and Uncle Toms like Van Jones and Eric Holder and Barry himself say yas-seh and no-seh to the white male Democrat overseers.

DOT:
Well where has Clapper been for the last 2 and half months? If he changed it ,he owns it. It still doesn't let Rice off the hook. It would be just like Obama to nominate her and dare Repubs to void her nomination. I say, bring it on Obama.

The ANDREA SHEA KING SHOW Interview With Walter Fitzpatrick III (USN, ret)

More than a million signatures on as many petitions to secede from the Union. What does this mean? People are angry and the direction our country has taken, and they have had enough. But is a petition of secession the answer? Or is there another way?

Walter Fitzpatrick III (USN, ret) of Tennessee, is taking a different direction. Tonight Walt will explain why he filed a formal criminal complaint naming Obama and his criminal assistants in commission of treason, and he'll tell us how you can do it and why you should...

Ig@11:31 is spot on. John effin' Kerry is the one who is trying to shove Susan Rice out of the way and grab the SoS job. He's just another has been White dem tryin' to keep a sista down. How could John Kerry possibly survive a Senate Foreign Relations committee confirmation hearing? (Don't tell me. I know.)

Tower's Personal Life Is Scrutinized

By ANDREW ROSENTHAL, Special to the New York Times

Published: February 01, 1989

The hearing on the nomination of John G. Tower to be Secretary of Defense took an unexpected turn today when witnesses and senators were drawn into a public discussion of allegations of womanizing and drunkenness against the him.

A witness, Paul M. Weyrich, testified that he had seen Mr. Tower drunk and in the company of women other than his wife. Members of the Senate Armed Services Committee questioned Mr. Weyrich further in a closed hearing and said afterward that the former Senate staff member who is now lobbyist for conservative causes failed to provide specifics to support his accusations.

But Mr. Weyrich's testimony forced the committee to continue its scrutiny of Mr. Tower, even though the accusations did not appear to be a serious threat to his confirmation.

Mr. Weyrich did not say when he had seen the former Texas Senator with women or whether Mr. Tower, twice divorced, was married at the time. Mr. Weyrich, who had asked to appear today before the committee to oppose the nomination, said he thought Mr. Tower lacked the ''moral character'' to be Secretary of Defense. Tower Declines Comment

From narciso's 9:53 am link

**UPDATE** CBS News is now reporting that James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) reviewed the talking points before they were given to Rice and the House intelligence committee:

The head of the DNI is James Clapper, an Obama appointee. He ultimately did review the points, before they were given to Ambassador Rice and members of the House intelligence committee on Sept. 14. They were compiled the day before.

Uh, are my eyes deceiving me or did the date that Rice received the talking points change? Does this mean Clapper reviewed the talking points on the 14th or that they were given to Rice on the 14th? CBS no less, reported on November 15th that Rice received the talking points on September 15th:

CBS News has obtained the CIA talking points given to U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice on Sept. 15 regarding the fatal attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, four days earlier.

So which is it? Was Susan Rice given the talking points on September 14th or on September 15th?

Incidentally, James Clapper is the guy who told Congress that the Muslim Brotherhood was "largely secular". This is relevant because that lie speaks to his credibility:

I don't quite understand why Vos (or any other state legislator) would avoid using the precise language used by other states which have successfully withstood challenges of their ID statutes in Federal Court.

Enl-once years ago our flight to San Juan at the start of spring break was delayed and delayed. The twilight of the old L1011s. Late in the day someone from the airline was finally telling several of us what was going on but we could not hear him because of a passenger on a tirade. So I told him to "Please shut up." He told me "I had just said that because he was black." I told him I did not care what color his skin was but I did care he was being a jerk and my kids wanted to know how much longer we would have to wait.

He looked stunned. I think he thought alleging racism was the magic trump card. I. Do. Not. Care.

Given the level of attention that race is about to be getting as the be all and end all as long as free markets still exist, a whole lot of Rep politicians have got to get a better handle on this.

Enlightened

rse - I agree. This messaging of "racism" for everyone and everything can, should and will backfire.

If these idiots think the workplace is going to magically stop firing blacks, women or other minorities because they SUCK at their job, or they endangered someone on the job, or they lie, steal or cheat on the job they are wrong.

Susan Rice lied. She is no different than a black or white, male or female McDonald's worker that lies on the job and gets fired. She should not be promoted if her job performance is in question. End of story.

As a manager in a company, I'd like some clarification on the current discrimination laws for the workplace. Seems to me Bambi would be setting a precedent that ONLY skin color and gender matters on the job now.

Threadkiller (Get off your couch and leave the GOP!)

The fact that he is unelectable is why the media has no problem declaring him the face of the new GOP.

Jim Ryan

I just think we need to revamp conservatism. Let's face it, it needs more than a makeover. It needs to be rebuilt. How about if we started with the question, "Okay, but what do I get out of it?" Then every member of the electorate could, I don't know, look in a manual and see what he gets out of it if conservatives win. If every voter is going to get something out of it, it will have a real chance of winning.

Latinos, for example. Could we give them, I don't know, one of those big hats you get on the beach at Acapulco? Or let them pick any illegal they want and that guy would get amnesty. Make it two.

College kids is another area where conservatives are hurting. If we could maybe offer unlimited free downloads of tunes? Not sure. Have to white board this one.

Unemployed would get extended unemployment benefits. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Oh, and we'll definitely want to queer the GOP.

Definitely want to look at Sullivan, Brooks, and Frum articles. Maybe photocopy all of them and put them in a file and just read them back to front before sitting down at the drawing board.

I mean, this isn't rocket science. Just think of stuff people want, give it to them, and you win. Let them know that that's conservatism, that's what the Republican Party stands for. It's not hard.

Clyburn: GOP letter criticizing Rice uses racial 'code words'

Henry,

Did you mean EBT card? One of the keys to that puzzle is requiring participant permission to track all purchases as part of the application with an additional vendor requirement to use item codes approved by the state. Legislators could use the database generated as the basis for adjusting benefit levels according to fulfillment of needs rather than wants.

There's no reason to work from "social scientists" statistical jiggery-pokery when enumeration is feasible and rather cheap.

More Marx. He created this virus.

The virus gets inside the host and cripples it's moral judgments. It also sets up a mechanism that prevents the host from attacking and removing the virus. Any assault on the virus is defined as irrational, base, and vicious instinct. In other words, the disease is very sophisticated. It causes the host to mistake its own healthy inclinations and beliefs for the disease and the disease for the cure.

For instance:

Romney's tax cuts just represent the interests of the rich.

"Incompetent," when applied to a black person, is a racial slur.

When the host is already weakened by years of onslaught by the disease, it cannot easily overcome these inhibitors. It is already debilitated by guilt and self-loathing bred into it by the virus and made to believe that protestation against this guilt merely increases the guilt. It cannot protest because it cannot stand the thought of increasing its guilt by doing so. It stays quiet and hopes to survive. It even succumbs to the disease and accepts that the disease is the cure for the guilt.

The virus operates at a deep level in the mind and heart where all to many are weak and vulnerable.

But rock-ribbed conservatives remain invulnerable to it.
