You notice the Climate Change credential and the UN tie, a coincidence I'm sure.

narciso

Yes, because he's such a git,

Yes, it's quite obvious to most sentient beings;

Yes, it is Boxing Day, an event I celebrate by whining to my Canadian relatives that they are spoiled by having an extra day off at Christmas, in addition to which they celebrate their Thanksgiving earlier than ours, as well as celebrating ours! And now that they've got Brian Harper starting to trim the excesses of the nanny state, I've got every reason to snarl with enhanced envy.

Merry First Day of Recovery from Christmas! I really over-ate in the celebration with my cousin's family. Pork roast, Swedish korv, meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy, lingonberry sauce, pickled herring, cheese-stuffed olives and much more. I may finally feel the need to eat by tomorrow. Oh, I got the chance to meet my cousin's future son-in-law from Louisiana, a hard-core conservative Cajun who wept with us over the election results, and then nearly tap-danced out his joy over having Bobby Jindal as his governor, in contrast to our crazy, drunken Governor "Jim Beam" Dayton.

narciso

Unfortunately, Mark, I think Governor Target, is quite sober, thanks Arne Carlson, no seriously,
yes I think you overdid it.

Mark Folkestad

Narciso, where have you been watching that Aussie K-9 spin-off from Doctor Who? Is it any good?

Facebook JOMers - here is a link to Bill Whittle's Virtual Research Brigade:

It's a closed group, so your request to join must be approved. Looks interesting. I think he posts research questions for folks to look up.

Dear Lord, Jane - I printed out the mole article to read and it is 12 Pages long!

Mark Folkestad

I can't toss bricks at Jane's state for electing a Fauxcahontas, when my own state elected as governor the laughing stock who once served as our senator (during which time he was called the nation's worst senator). I yearn to complete my move to Alaska, where I will unfortunately have to cope with Senator Lovely Lisa.

Sci Fi Channel, it's was ok, on a generally blanc mange day,

I this is definitely doubleunplusgood;

Remember this is the publication, that hosts Frum, Chait, Rich, and co, and they call us deranged and paranoid.

Hagan, is the twit, that Rove chose to unburden himself to, about two years ago,

Since kangaroo skin boots are illegal in CA I'm assuming selling a kangaroo scrotum to a CA resident constitutes a major felony.

This is something - Benghazi penalties are bogus

even the 4 that were "fired" weren't fired.

a comment at another NYPost Benghazi article -
Tom Matiska
Wilkes Barre, Pa.

The best comment I heard about the Benghazi report: Mistakes were made, but by no one.

Neo

The four officials supposedly out of jobs because of their blunders in the run-up to the deadly Benghazi terror attack remain on the State Department payroll — and will all be back to work soon, The Post has learned.

The highest-ranking official caught up in the scandal, Assistant Secretary of State Eric Boswell, has not “resigned” from government service, as officials said last week. He is just switching desks. And the other three are simply on administrative leave and are expected back.

The four were made out to be sacrificial lambs in the wake of a scathing report issued last week that found that the US compound in Benghazi, Libya, was left vulnerable to attack because of “grossly inadequate” security.

State Department leaders “didn’t come clean about Benghazi and now they’re not coming clean about these staff changes,” a source close to the situation told The Post., adding, the “public would be outraged over this.”

Really CC? I could only get to the part about John Yoo's mother and then it ends for me. It was an odd ending but I could not get any more. So it goes on longer?

Ben Franklin (Machine Gun Preacher (unleaded version)

No one wants to delve into the dynamics of a 'fiscal cliff'?

Heh. With fiscal conservatism, it should be a welcome event, since the Deficit is such an important feature.

Or. is it a 'bug'?

marlene

Oh no! A nor'easter is heading our way! A snowstorm! In Maine! In December! : ) I did all the post Christmas errands early this morning.Driving home,I laughed when I saw the town truck putting patch in some potholes. As soon as the first plow truck comes thru there will be a huge pothole in the road (again). Our tax dollars at work!

centralcal

No, Jane - it ends with the quotes from John Yoo's mother, just as you said.

But printed on paper, it was 11 and 1/4 pages long.

Not worth the read, in my opinion. We (conservatives) are just a bunch of semi-senile, racist, old white people - according to the gloating liberal, and I assume youthful, author. (eyeroll)

Jane: Mock the Media

I recognized some of the people - (Like Bobbi who is a good friend) so it was fun for me, but very weird.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

--Heh. With fiscal conservatism, it should be a welcome event, since the Deficit is such an important feature.--

The conservative/libertarian/supply side/classical liberal view is that excessive total gov spending is the actual drag on the economy. Whether that total is financed completely through onerous taxation or by lower taxes and accumulating government debt is largely irrelevant; either destroys wealth and stagnates growth.
To the extent the cliff reduces spending = good.
To the extent it raises taxes = bad.
DC's history is 100% ability to stick with tax increases, <10% ability to make spending cuts stick.

Jane: Mock the Media

BTW, A family friend came to Christmas dinner yesterday. 31 year old gay Diva.

He was fairly obnoxious all day - with the ongoing excuse that he was gay and misunderstood. At any rate at one point he announced that Fox News was very upset that more people were not killed at Sandy Hook.

I asked him why. He had no idea. I asked where he heard it - everywhere apparently. I asked if he has ever seen Fox news. "No" at which time I clicked on Brett Baeir to torture him.

narciso

The Post is schizophrenic, seeing as there are three lawsuits against Ray Kelly's NYPD, then they want us to trust the 'gungrabbers'

narciso

Well I gave you, my read on it, I guess the part about Rove being treated as 'Piggy' from Lord of the Flies, rings true, but not much else,

narciso

No surprise, that Kurtz doesn't see the point;

I have one of those in the Fridge Porch. I fear I may end up throwing it out.

Ben Franklin (Machine Gun Preacher (unleaded version)

"To the extent it raises taxes = bad."

I dunno Iggy. Teh Tea Party has been awful quiet of late; especially wrt the fiscal cliff.

The Abyss of tax increases is the maelstrom they seem to anticipate, while distancing themselves from any role in that end.

Porchlight

Clock is ticking, Jane. This one tastes fabulous.

narciso

That is pretty much how Continental austerity plans, more high taxes, including VAT, over actual spending, that's the Cameron, Monti, et al plan.
