CH's Terps are playing very well. Nothing like watching the Dookies lose.

MoodyBlu

Yeah, congrats to the turtles. Great defense to keep the dookies from hitting their normal bunch of threes.

Beasts of England

I'm just wondering how long Saturday is going to last this week? My CFG (current favorite girlfriend) has her child this weekend, so I need the distraction...

Captain Hate

Whoo-hoo. We're finally getting some good point guard play out of Pe'shon Howard and it makes them look like a totally different team. Dez Wells has been a beast too (I definitely was sweating out what was ultimately a cramp). We may go to the tourney after all. I'm just impressed we beat Duke with Kelly playing.

MoodyBlu

Hit seems to know all, although anyone answer please. What happened to the lady from CA who use to post all the time on JOM? Can't remember her name but do recall she was the wife of a naval officer and was originally from Johnstown, PA.

Haven't been on JOM much since the election so I may have missed any status on the lady in question. I recently passed through Johnstown and it made me think of her.

DrJ

Moody,

That would be Sara. She stopped posting at JOM after the election. Right after the election.

Belated happy birthdays to Porch and Henry!

Clarice

Mooy that's Sara Leslie Griffith. She has a FB page under Leslie Griffith and you can send her a message there if you choose to.

daddy

Wow Captain.

Just in from the dog walk to discover you whipped Dook!

I think the ACC Tourney winner still gets an automatic invite to the dance, so amazingly your and my guys are still alive. May the best mediocre team win.

Janet

I just got another negative Cuccinelli story recommendation from FB. This time it was a Politico story...I think it was WaPo last time.
So I "Like" Cuccinelli & FB sends me stories about how lousy he is in my newsfeed....

I opted for the no more stories from Politico in my newsfeed. Seriously...you can't get away from the evil MFM.

Janet

Ya figure if libs "Like" Obama they get stories about how Obama lied about Benghazi in their newsfeeds?

Clarice

Well, looks like the oppo is much better keyed into this social networking thing,

Captain Hate

daddy, at least some of Turgeon's detractors have to ease off temporarily. I don't know how far this will go but it's starting to remind me a bit of the Gilchrist team that was lowly seeded coming into the tourney and ran the table.

Ann

I am so sorry I miss all the important days around here, JOM!

Happy Birthday, Porch and Henry... and to all the wonderful friends, I claim, even though we have never met! You know, it is kinda like, unconditional love. :)

Speaking of which...Best dog so far is a golden doodle. (large poodle and golden retriever) She goes to the mailbox and gets my paper every morning!

I have only read a few pages here, but I was wondering, if you guys have discussed the Pat Caddell speech at CPAC. I agree with it all and it is fine time someone said it. Sad, it had to be a democrat.

Captain Hate

And Georgetown lost. Can this day get any better?

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

Posted by: Beasts of England | March 15, 2013 at 09:20 PM --

Took me a while to figure out you were talking visitation and not the birth of your love child from which you needed a distraction. :)

narciso

Hey, Ann, I brought the story up, in a bad link, last night, how are you doing,

Captain Hate

Yeah Beasts, try to use that Tide education to put together more coherent sentences.

Ann I need more Pat Caddell and less Rob Portman.

daddy

Hi Ann!

When an audience member asked Caddell why he, a Democrat, was offering Republicans advice that would help them beat his own party, his response was met with huge applause. "I'm not a fan of Barack Obama," Caddell said. "My first allegiance is to my country. I have paid a huge price, and when I watch you people screwing up I'm offended."

daddy

Ann I need more Pat Caddell and less Rob Portman.

Capt,

Caught a bit of the News with Brian Williams on the radio head set tonight during the walk, and it was all Andrea Mitchell loving Portman's splitting the Republicans with his 180 degree turn on Gay Marriage. Andrea was in snark hog heaven.

Ann

Captain,
Totally agree with your Portman comment. It looks like he thinks he could run with Jeb Bush in 2016. Gag me!! What fools. All of a sudden he is for gay marriage because his son told him he was gay in 2010!

Hi, narciso! Has anyone found video of Caddells's speech yet. I gave a luncheon for some of my death panel friends today and I missed most of RUSH.

narciso

Usually, Right Scoop has long form items like that, I;m glad I missed Portmanpalooza, what exactly has he done since the JOM chapter, among others, put him in office,

MALIA and SASHA

I'm from Maryland, and it amuses me that the Terps can say. We're moving to the BIG 10, bye bye Duke, you are NO LONGER our RIVAL!!!

Now they can play my Badgers!!!!! My Badgers beat the Michigan Wolverettes.

narciso

In other news, 'Tommy Boy' Schultz, took his more selective status, with all the tact and aplomb he is known for, lol.

Captain Hate

Portman pulled a JEF with his "look at me" nonsense from out of nowhere. Is there any pending legislation that he could, you know, quietly vote on if his conscience is bothering him so much? No. So his previous vote on the defense of marriage was based on nothing but which way he felt the wind was blowing and when his homo son comes out of the closet that changes all his "core principles"?

What a major disappointment. Another worthless pandering Repuke.

app

HENRY!!!!!! Happy Birthday my brother!!! Call me. I have an idea for celebrating your birthday WISCONSIN style. MEL WOULD APPROVE.

Captain Hate

I love how Meechigan has been in the late season choke mode. It's like Bill Frieder never left. Go Badgers.

Clarice

Ann, How nice to hear from you

Ann

Hi, daddy! Sorry, I always miss you.

However, I have an avatar for you:
 photo 600319_10150874830066523_796519484_n_zpsa267f7b6.jpg
:)

P.S. I can't believe I just posted a comment about my "death panel" friends". I guess that is because all we talked about was Obamacare and all the things that they don't know or understand!!!!, (They only watch ..Downtown Abbey) They looked at me like I was NUTS!!

Gus

Ann that AVATAR looks like an OBAMA LOGO under construction.

Gus

Why did my comment to HENRY say my name is "app".

Henry it's me GUS.

Clarice

It is a social handicap to know too much, isn't it?

narciso

But Sheriff Joe, told us, that was wrong;

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013/03/war-drums-us-deploys-missiles-in-alaska/#disqus_thread

Been catching the Bible series, it has good production values, a bit of inspired casting l ie with Sammson,

narciso

No 'Duke and Duke' influence in the conclave that chose Pope Francis, in the LUN

Beasts of England

Ig@11:09 - That darned syntax gets me every time! No love child, thankfully.

:: knocking vigorously on wood ::

Ann

Hi, Clarice!

Just catching up on your travel posts. Bravo! I am always late catching up and post-compliments always sound suck-uppy! (is that a word?) and you know I would never do that!

Just know, I am always a fan. Smooches! What a life you have had. I am jealous.

Gus

Seems Pope Francis is "old school" Roman Catholic narciso.

Thank the Good Lord.

Beasts of England

Cap't Hate@11:28 - Heck, I'm still gettin' used to wearin' shoes. Real gooder English is on the back burner...

jimmyk

Ann, I looked for video of Caddell but there doesn't seem to be any. As I mentioned in the last thread, I love watching him because he's so ...angry, for lack of a better term. Lots of good quotes at the Big Government article linked in the last thread. Another one of my favorites:

"In my party we play to win. We play for life and death. You people play for a different kind of agenda...Your party has no problem playing the Washington Generals to the Harlem Globetrotters."

I don't understand why he's still a Democrat. He obviously loathes Obama, and he should know that this is where the Ds are headed. It's almost like a religion or ethnicity that he can't part with.

Clarice

Glad you liked it , Ann. I hope you are well.We miss you when you aren't posting.

Gus

JimmyK, have you heard Kirsten Powers in the last year PLUS??? Yes, she is a bubbleheaded blonde (sometimes cute, sometimes not). But she clearly "gets it" (no pun intended). She just cannot put the crack pipe down....YET.

daddy

I love it Ann! Looks like a happy PacMan eating a 747:)

Narciso,

I see you have the Alaska Dispatch in your LUN. Looks like the Administration is doing a new 2 pronged attack on Shell and offshore drilling in Alaska.

1) Yesterday Salazar put out a report damning Shell's drilling practices, and demanding that they write new rules to ensure their subcontractors do a better job. Shell says they will not drill in 2013 and are on hold indefinitely.

2) Today Obama says he wants a new Enviro-program created to wean American's off foreign Oil and on to Green alternatives, by taking $2 Billion from Oil companies drilling for oil offshore in Federal lands.

Speaking Friday at Argonne National Laboratory – the high-tech incubator that produced battery breakthroughs for today’s plug-in vehicles – President Obama proposed an “Energy Security Trust Fund” to finance research into batteries for plug-in vehicles and other “breakthrough technologies,” such as hydrogen fuel cells and cleaner biofuels.

So overall Shell can't drill, but if they're stupid enough to try Obama will take Billions of their profits so he can invest it in more Solyndra's.

narciso

Ever since it's been picking up more Christian science monitor stories, and less of Mordred and con, yes I know his real name.

Ann

Bingo, Captain 12:02

Thanks, Jimmyk, Sorry I missed your post. I too will keep looking for a transcript.

Here's another idea... We all need to have an Obamacare party because no one knows what is in it.
 photo 427170_252234931531222_1922986066_n-1.jpg
People have NO IDEA WHAT THEY VOTED FOR!

daddy

Narciso,

Just for fun, here's what Dan Fagan looks like.

He was on as a substitute Talk Host last week and on a call-in question he recommended I give a look to his ongoing Video series "Alaska Under Assault" from the Fed's.

Medred lives about a half mile away and we have mutual acquaintances, and a dog walk buddy always asks me if I didn't see him on the trail today, as apparently we share many of the same hikes.

jimmyk

Gus, yes, Kirsten is another example. As are, probably, Althouse, Kaus. I'd even throw in Dershowitz and Woodward. They all know better, and show occasional flashes of brilliance and insight, but then seem to almost invariably find some excuse to pull the 'D' lever. Probably because their parents and grandparents always did, or because their friends all do.

jimmyk

Ann, love that poster, but how did you manage to find a picture of dublindave and his boyfriend?

Ann

JimmyK,

Doesn't that pic tell a story!

Love you guys, night.

daddy

Perhaps it's a Golem Convention?

Captain Hate

I don't understand why he's still a Democrat. He obviously loathes Obama, and he should know that this is where the Ds are headed. It's almost like a religion or ethnicity that he can't part with.

Hence my quandary with the Episcopal church, the Rob Portman of religions.

Captain Hate

LOL, talk about missing the point

Their Clown Hall overlords must be scratching their heads over that one. Fear The Turtle, bitchezzz.

daddy

allegations: plural of al·le·ga·tion

Noun

A claim or assertion that someone has done something illegal or wrong, typically one made without proof.

I bring that up because of the opening paragraph in this National Journal story:

Disgraced former Rep. Anthony Weiner's dormant New York City mayoral campaign paid more than $100,000 to a San Francisco-based polling firm earlier this month, suggesting the once-prominent Democrat whose career was derailed by allegations he sent salacious texts and photographs to various women online was contemplating a return to politics in this year's elections.

I'm sure Anthony Weiner's glad to know they were just allegations.

Extraneus

Ya figure if libs "Like" Obama they get stories about how Obama lied about Benghazi in their newsfeeds?

Not if their newsfeeds consist only of stories from WaPo, Politico, NYT and such.

I opted for the no more stories from Politico in my newsfeed.

That's the right answer. Do they allow you to specify which media outlets you want news from?

hit and run

Good morning and Happy Friday Late Day! But this is no ordinary Friday Late Day. And not even because it's not Friday at all.

No, in the last episode of Every Day's A Birthday Day At JOM Week, we have not one, but two birthdays. And not only are we celebrating two birthdays, they are inter-generational birthdays within the same family.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARKO!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARKO'S GRANDKIDDO!!!!

DGS

On a previous thread someone asked for the name of a good gluten free pasta. For taste I recommend Schar. I'm a celiac and have tried many of the gluten free pastas. Most of them are horrible. Unfortunately gluten free pasta is expensive. Schar is $4.95 for a 12 oz box.

Janet

Extraneus, No...or, not that I know of. I can only pick that option after a 'recommended' story goes by in my newsfeed. No more stories from Politico or the WaPo now (or so they say).

It is a social handicap to know too much, isn't it?

SO true, Clarice!
and this too from Ann - People have NO IDEA WHAT THEY VOTED FOR!

narciso

Happy birthday, MarkO, cleeraly I mean Vizzinism

Jack is Back

DGS,

That was me asking. Saw Schar at Richards Food Emporium. Thanks for the tip. Waiting at Mayo to get the knee X-rayed. Lots of pain last night but now nada. Go figure.

Jane - Mock the Media!

I gave a luncheon for some of my death panel friends today

Ann,

Have I told you lately that I love you?

Jimmy last November I told asked suggested to Jack Fowler (NR Publisher)that he should have Pat Caddell on the next cruise. We don't need Dick Morris, that's for sure.

Jane - Mock the Media!

Happy B-day grandkid! I bet grampy is proud!

sbw

DGS, Thanks for the pointer. Saw some Schar yesterday, and after our offspring's villi heal from the leaky gut gluten causes, we'll try it.

For the information of others, before the villi heal, leaky gut means that some proteins from other foods like potato starch used as a gluten substitute, leak in the intestine causing pain, spasms, and bloating. It could take six months for the gut to heal enough to try potato starch again.

If you know someone with frequent unspecified stomach, joint, and skin problems, celiac is frequently not considered and affects about 1 in 133.

Thanks, DGS. You are on the money. I hear that almost all real Italian pasta doesn't use wheat. Check out Sherry-Lynn's website in Schenectady. They operate a restaurant/bakery all gluten free.

Sue

Janet

I keep getting AARP ads. Almost every comment says eff you in one way or other. I never liked them and can't get rid of them.

narciso
Jane - Mock the Media!

Clarice,

What does it smell like? And does it smell the same everywhere you go?

(I have no idea why I want to know this, but that question kept entering my mind while I was reading.) Spectacular Piece BTW!

sbw

Clarice, thanks for the tour we can take vicariously, without Montazuma's revenge. Well done.

maryrose

Happy Birthday Marko and little grandson! Hope you both have a wonderful day.
Report this morning on Fox says one of the survivors of Benghazi says WH told them not to talk about it. Of Course Bammy and CO. deny, deny, deny, but we know they are lying yet again.Conveniently Obama is headed out of the country.

Janet

Sue,
With ads, I click on the X & mark them as spam. With "green" ads I type in propaganda as my reason.
With the recommended stories, I had to look for the X that offered me the "no more stories from Politico" option. It wasn't on the far right edge (the sort column). It was in the highlighted story itself.

Happy Birthday, MarkO & GrandkiddO!!! Lots of love to you!

Stephanie

Just saw this on FB:

Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople has announced that he plans to attend the inaugural Mass of Pope Francis on March 19.

The appearance by the Ecumenical Patriarch--the "first among equals" of all the world's Orthodox leaders--is an unprecedented gesture. The Patriarch of Constantinople has not attended a papal installation since 1054, when Constantinople split from Rome.

narciso

And he's on good terms, with Evangelicals, as well, it's like the band back together;

Hence he was catching flak from all the usual supects, in the LUN

Porchlight

Happy birthday to MarkO and his grandkidO!

And thanks to Ann, DrJ, DoT and Elliott for the birthday wishes yesterday. Ann, it's so nice to see you.

Buckeye

Voinovich and now Portman. Both pushed by the Republican establishment in Ohio and both huge disappointments. Ohio has shifted to the left in a big way in my lifetime, now only RINOs seem to have shot. Another reason to move, just behind the weather.

Captain Hate

Yes, there's a couple inches of global warming on the lawn today. Anybody that believe in that garbage is too dumb to argue with.

Jane - Mock the Media!

Ben Carson talking at CPAC now.

Jane - Mock the Media!

With my spectacular reading skills I just realized it is also Mark O's b-day.

I coulda guessed you are a Pisces. WEll done!

Jane - Mock the Media!

The WH is not going to be happy with Ben Carson!

Danube of Thought iPad

"Can this day get any better?"

Notre Dame's loss umproved it greatly.

Ann, what a great pleasure it is when you appear here--a real ray of sunshine.

Danube of Thought iPad

Very best birthday wishes to MarkO and his grandson.

Danube of Thought iPad

It was my understanding that Caddel very public quit and denounced the Democratic party years ago. Nevertheless, it's great to have him identified as a Democrat, countering the routine attributions to "conservative pundit Kevin Phillips." (Is that fool still alive?)

PaulV

Janet, McAuliffe went to Menendez's buddy Melgen resort on Air Melgen. McAuliffe got big donations from Melgen when he came in 3rd in 2009 democrat party primary for governor. Post it on face book.

Such good fortune to share a birthday with your grandchild! HB to both Mark and nano O!

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

Kevin Phillips unfortunately still afflicts us with his presence.

Janet

Thanks, PaulV!!

Clarice

Jane, oddly, it didn't smell very bad though it certainly looked foul. On fact, the place where we stopped for lunch was an elegant hotel and guest villas built along the River itself. The canals where the water flow was less were a bit worse.

India smelled far worse in most places.

Clarice

*In* fact

Jane - Mock the Media!

Clarice,

India is what brought it into my mind. India and Indians who seem to be married to a scent I find terribly unpleasing.

Jane - Mock the Media!

How dumb is he? Who said this?

"You know what? Rich people - I'm sure you'd agree with this - actually do pay the freight in this country."

"I just saw these statistics," he continued, "I mean, something like 70 percent. And here in California, I just want to say liberals - you could actually lose me. It's outrageous what we're paying - over 50 percent. I'm willing to pay my share, but yeah, it's ridiculous."

sbw

Clarice, the pasta looks great.

We'll make some as soon as our offspring recovers from the initial leaky gut that makes the potato starch in cup4cup a problem for a month or six.

Thanks for suggesting it.

narciso

He's misunderstanding the American Revolution, now, that can't possibly go wrong,

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

George Will
on the poor or non existent social science behind gay marriage.
Without a social science backing it is left with the "equal protection" argument, which is the slippery slope leading to limitless kinds of "marriage".
When coupled with Lawrence I have yet to hear any plausible argument of why that slippery slope is not something that exists and which we will be headed down.

Jane on Ipad

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDY DAZE!

(TK. I hope you just heard what Sarah Palin just said about Obama. It will make your day!.)

Danube of Thought

Seems the economy is at the mercy of dark, unpredictable forces that strike at random--and they can even strike when Congress isn't in session!

(CNSNews.com) – Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) on Thursday compared the series of automatic federal budget cuts that took effect on March 1 to the Japanese tsunami of 2011 that killed more than 15,000 people and left millions more without power and water, while sparking a nuclear reactor meltdown.

“And for those whose memories fade, I want you to be reminded of the tsunami,” Jackson Lee said. “For it does not give notice and it is tragic and reckless for those who say ‘You know what, the sequester has started and I feel pretty good’ because you have not been hit by the tsunami.

She also “warned” that this “tsunami” of effects from the cuts, known as The Sequester, could come at any time – even at a time when Congress is not in session.

MarkO

I'm on Spring Break and have not been keeping up here. Congrats to the Terps. I'm looking forward to one of two things: Duke loses in the first round or wins the entire tournament. Oh, that 3 point line.

MarkO

A huge thank you to all the well-wishers on my birthday and for remembering my grandson, with whom I happily share this birthday. I'm in Phoenix with a large number of family and look forward to a glorious sunburn.

I do truly appreciate your remembrances.

Captain Hate

Thanks Mark; you're always a good sport and I try to reciprocate. Best wishes in the big dance.

As Jane said, Sarah Palin is saying what Rob Portman should concentrate on, ie. saying things that the Iranian Rodent has to keep from the Indonesian Imbecile.

Captain Hate

HB MarkO and grandson.
