Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Zimmerman Trial Day Two - 'Dee Dee' Speaks!:

Comments

Rob Crawford
That may make her appear helpless and sympathetic.

Or ignorant and thuggish.

Mark Folkestad

First! Although I realize that with our current posting problems, dozens may have already tried.

henry

she sounds barely capable of forming sentences.

Jeb really fixed those schools. /sarc

Mark Folkestad

Darn. Rob beat me, by seconds. I shouldn't have added the caveat.

I'm sitting here whooping with joy, eagerly awaiting the mendacious moron to be sliced and diced on the witness (or should that be witless?) stand.

Mark Folkestad

Pam Bondi hasn't done her reputation any favors for allowing this legal lynching to go on. As a matter of fact, her duplicitous conduct has fully quenched the last embers of the burning lust I once had for her.

I second Henry's snark.

Account Deleted

It's a test of her ability to retain coaching instruction, just like the State's first "witness". She will demonstrate a remarkable lack of intelligence and O'Mara is going to have to be very careful about drawing too much attention to her stupidity/mendacity.

I see her as a symbol of the State for the entire trial. Henry's right, she could be Bush/Scott/Bondi/Corey's daughter.

Cecil Turner

Is it just coincidence, or did every call Zimmerman make to the police involve black suspects? If the former, the defense should insist on adding a few of the others.

narciso

How much time, do they have, there were 400 hundred calls from that one complex in one year.

Jeb was fooled into taking those 'constructivist' magic beans, in the shiny Ignite package, that brother Neil brought him.

4JackisBack!2

Croos post;

Reading the CFNews13 blog on the GZ trial it appears Nelson is back to her "damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead" support of the State in allowing in prior calls by George. She is now in chambers listening to the and Nofke's (the 911 dispatcher) prior testimony to see if under O'Mara's cross the door was opened enough to give her. wiggle room.

Cowards all. What a sham. Scott is toast with me.

jwest

Hopefully, Don West will get a crack at DeeDee.

I can't wait to hear him drone on about some insignificant point time after time until the judge throws something at him.

N. Y. Nick

she sounds barely capable of forming sentences

Well, it could be that, or it could be that you're not listening intently, nor putting her words in a proper context for the jury. Pay attention. That ol' cowboy has been in a few rodeos. ;)

narciso

They proffered a false affidavit previously, this is why they introduced his pal Chad yesterday.

4JackisBack!2

O'Mara citing rule 404 of Federal evidence to keep prior calls out. over to the JoM legal team including the wiki/google lawyers.

Leaving for Sebonack and the Open.

anonamom

Cecil, If you will listen to the 911 tape or read the transcript, you will find that GZ did NOT know what color skin TM had when first asked that question by the 911 operator.
it was only when TM came back to confront GZ and approached him at his truck that GZ was able to tell her "He is black."

West is doing a very good job with the police department's Neighborhood Watch coordinator. She's intelligent, well spoken, and will provide quite a contrast to Dee Dee. She's also sympathetic in relating Zimmerman's role and responsibilities wrt Neighborhood Watch.

I don't see her as helpful to the State lynch mob at all.

rse

OT-but one of this mornings emails alerted me that MS and oracle would now be coordinating to get at the cloud computing market.

Because active coordination among tech oligopolies is just such a 21st century means to hold on to revenue while insisting education for the future be all about using technology.

To get the kind of workers needed.

Bondi indeed has made herself look obtuse or a hack or both. Shameful.

jwest

Did the State even bother to depose Wendy Dorival? How could they put a witness who destroys every premise of their case on as one of their witnesses?

She is such a great witness for Zimmerman that even Don West is doing a good cross.

narciso

Jeb bought those fancy magic beans, brother Neil, got for a great price, the ones with the Ignite label.

Captain Hate

Rick, don't break the stream of legal sooper jeanyus jwest's trollery, which he's transferred from AoS to JOM.

henry

rse, that was also in the WSJ dead tree this morning. The oligarchs are nervous.

jwest

Keep the knee jerk idiocy confined to AoS, CH. When you form an original thought, let us know.

Ignatz

Jwest is a troll?
Just sounds like someone who has spent too much money to be in the company of lawyers; a very sad and jaded club to be in.

narciso

Well they had their narrative and unlike Lt, Columbo, they weren't going to let facts get in the way.

Captain Hate

Keep acting like you're smarter than Don West, jwest; it's very entertaining. Why don't you tell everybody how you claim to support Palin while thinking her political stances are dumb? Great vote on amnesty yesterday, no?

Danube of Thought

Who is televising this trial?

narciso

It's up to the Prosecution to supply the Two minute Hate, of course they couldn't really venture very far, because witnesses like Serino
had ahem, conflicts of interest.

Threadkiller

Good morning, Danube.

Stephanie

looks like the trolls are sockpuppeting again.

Danube of Thought

Good morning.

centralcal

DoT: per Legal Insurrection, NBC is livestreaming trial w/o commentary.

Danube of Thought

Thanks Ccal. How does one watch something that is being livestreamed?

centralcal

lol - you watch from your computer or iPad!

Here is the link: http://www.nbcnews.com/video/nbcnews.com/52117880/

narciso

That Branca link is in my 11;16 LUN,

jwest

CH,

I've baked beets that are smarter than Don West (and a great many other lawyers out there).

And as to Palin, I was the one in the lion's den defending her for months while everyone took their shots hoping for an invitation to a liberal dinner party. However, just because I support and defend her doesn't mean I automatically adopt every view she has on every issue.

That's the difference between supporting a person of character as a politician and being a member of a cult.

Captain Hate

Yeah you really zinged me, jwest, just like you always do. I'll let everybody else here reach their own conclusions about the content of your character.

narciso

The Home Owner's association, is distancing themselves from George, 'no good deed' I guess.

Rob Crawford
That's the difference between supporting a person of character as a politician and being a member of a cult.

And yet you hang out at AoS?

rse

http://legalinsurrection.com/2013/06/supreme-court-voting-rights-act-decision//#more

Glad to see this struck down. Since I am privy to what is being sought in education in terms of Diversity, yesterday and today's rulings suggest a majority of SCOTUS would not approve.

Just a matter of getting out the word of the real implementation.

Kagan in particular would know what is being sought from being Dean at HLS. She must be livid. Those 5 may need food tasters to prevent the desire to replace one of them in the near future. Especially as they are out and about in the real world.

jwest

"And yet you hang out at AoS?"

Someone has to ask the tough questions.

jwest

Whoever on the prosecution team decided to put the HOA president on the stand is in the "baked beet" category.

If the next two prosecution witnesses are like the last two, Zimmerman will be elected mayor.

narciso

Sounds like Marvin the Martian I'm getting very angry indeed'

Captain Hate

Glad to see this struck down. Since I am privy to what is being sought in education in terms of Diversity, yesterday and today's rulings suggest a majority of SCOTUS would not approve.

Although that's great to hear, it was still a 5-4 decision which should keep us at least a bit nervous for the next 3.5 years.

"Physically Enraged"? What did he read?!?

Captain Hate

TK just left a gaping chest wound on the syntax of limericks.

Captain Hate

TK, did you mean "Hayes' twitter feed"?

Threadkiller

Damn it!

Thanks CH.

Captain Hate

You're welcome, TK; I try to provide positive feedback for your limerick obsession.

Sandy Daze
However, just because I support and defend her doesn't mean I automatically adopt every view she has on every issue.

Well, I support and defend the Sarah, I have an inquiring mind, and inquiring minds want to know, what views does the Sarah have that you do not support or adopt?

In my experience, there is not one position she has adopted or commented about, that I am not in agreement.

YMMV.

If so, please elaborate.

Extraneus

Seems like jwest came here to discuss the Zimmerman trial. Unlike others, I don't know him from anywhere else, but I haven't noticed any of his comments here to be objectionable.

jwest

Sandy,

I think the one that has Captain Hate in a tizzy concerns healthcare.

Sarah rightfully pointed out that government run healthcare would lead to "Death Panels". My position is that people should have individual health accounts, paying for all foreseeable expenses directly to the provider at the time they are rendered.

However, F.A. Hayek and I agree that truly insurable risks, such as catastrophic healthcare, is a reasonable concern of government. In order for that to work, limits must be put in place as to what taxpayers will fund and what they won't.

Without these "Death Panels", there would just be a full-out socialist utopia where everyone gets every possible procedure regardless of success rate or cost.

So, shoot me.

narciso

Except the 'Quality of Life' systems like NICE, are integral to the way the NHS works, not to mention the dutch system, George Bernard Shaw also agreed as does Ezekiel Emmanuel and Peter Singer.

maryrose

AFA is a joke, has death panels, took millions from Medicare, isn't funded, isn't wanted by a majority of the American people, has no repub support. and finally gives waivers out and special preference to preferred people. It is so bad congressional workers are fleeing from this giant booddoggle. It is only Preezy's stubborness and stuck on stupid dems keeping it alive.

maryrose

should be ACA or really it shouldn't be.

Captain Hate

I think the one that has Captain Hate in a tizzy concerns healthcare.

Wrong; I generally steered clear of that dustup you had with other morons. What specifically got me upset was how you acted like a dick throughout multiple threads recently. I had been generally sympathetic to you before that while thinking you were making a mistake for arguing with ace in the comments, which I generally avoid doing for more than one reason.

So keep on posting here; I don't care.

Cecil Turner

Cecil, If you will listen to the 911 tape or read the transcript, you will find that GZ did NOT know what color skin TM had when first asked that question by the 911 operator.

Got that. The question is why the State is so excited about getting those old 911 calls in. The obvious answers are to support their "wannabe cop" and "profiling" stories . . . and every call they aired just happened to be when he was calling about black guys (which makes sense, at least for the break ins that had two black suspects).

IANAL, but it seems to me if the Prosecution cherry-picked the calls for that purpose it's prejudicial, and the Defense ought to call 'em on it.

jwest

Just for clarification...

I in no way want to limit what anyone can do as far as procedures that they pay for themselves. If you're a 90 year old millionaire and want a new pair of lungs, go for it.

My objection is to having the government seize my money through taxes to pay for keeping someone alive for an extra two weeks.

NK

Narc-- every healthcare finance system by definition incorporates value judgments of treatment options covered and not covered, limits to coverage etc. Those value judgments are effectively 'rationing' healthcare. What makes Obummer and the rest of the ACA hustlers so odious is that they deny any rationing in the ACA or the existence of Death Panels when they are both explicitly in the text and inevitable based on socialized national heathcare systems for the past 80 years. This is not a philosphical debate, this is about Obummer's real world lies.

narciso

They really didn't think this through, one wonders though when you have400 calls in one year, when did the HOA consider the police were not serving the community.

Ignatz

==My objection is to having the government seize my money through taxes to pay for keeping someone alive for an extra two weeks.--

If we had a federal system rather than a national one you could move to states that thought similarly and others could move according to their consciences.
As it is Kathleen Sebellius provides the national conscience for us.

jwest

What was all that focus on the breathing mask for CPR?

Sandy Daze

The Sarah was correct in pointing out that the ACA would adopt death panels.

There is absolutely no / NO place for the government in making such decisions (unless of course, they need to drop a hellfire on your a$$, but I digress... no really, if the government can kill a citizen with extreme prejudice, why can't it just let you die through subjective prioritization-- "you comrade, have been a good party member..." vs "you, tea-partier, have not been a good party member, sorry no hip, knee replacement, heart transplant for you, take your pills...")

I do not believe the Sarah was describing a comprehensive healthcare system, but I do believe she correctly assessed what the ACA would mean.

I think Dr. Benjamin Carson has a very good plan. I'd put him in charge.

BUT AGAIN, I do not disagree with the Sarah. Have yet to find a single point that she did not speak for me.

YMMV.

Cecil Turner

Interesting objection. O'Mara drones on about Sgt Raimondo's service (and by implication draws an obvious parallel to Zimmerman serving in his own small way). Sustained for irrelevancy.

Captain Hate

Btw, to point out what should be unnecessary, in no way do I blindly agree with everything teh Sarah does. Her 2010 support for McRINO was an unfortunate lapse of putting personal gratitude and loyalty above acting in the best interests of the country, as every subsequent day has confirmed.

jwest

See, we do agree on something.

Captain Hate

You're not an idiot, jwest; but you do a convincing imitation of one at times. So do I but I try to keep them to a minimum.

jwest

"Interesting objection. O'Mara drones on about Sgt Raimondo's service..."

I didn't understand why the prosecution would object at that point. O'Mara was just "fluffing" the cop and the State shut him down.

Can't see how that plays to an all woman jury. The guy looked like Mr. Clean and had more medals than Patton.

narciso

She did support Hatch over Lilenquist, (sic), but this has been such a 'turtles all the way' down exercise, Lee didn't even vote on the bill,

Captain Hate

I have no idea where Hatch is coming from. It's not like Utah is a purple state. I've read elsewhere that the Mormons have their own unique set of concerns about immigration as it impacts their missionary work (if that is the correct term) but our resident expert has been missing since Willard went down in flames.

Account Deleted

Cecil,

The State lynching team is proceeding without legal or factual predicates, leaving them with only the emotional appeal card. I'm amazed at the State's ability to misplay the only card in their hand and I'm amused at the ease with which West and O'Mara are using the Joe Friday approach to slap the State silly.

The State just placed a crime scene photo in evidence showing the position of St. Trayvon's body. They didn't crop the diagram to disguise the distance from the safety of the house where he was staying - you know, the house he returned from in order to participate in his street thug workout with George.

Dumb and Dumber have apparently added Dumbest to the team.

centralcal

The guy looked like Mr. Clean and had more medals than Patton.

LMAO! Yep, on the medals ... almost to the point of ridiculousness.

NK

RickB-- IMO the State prosecutors are playing the trial strictly for emotional prposes. It's a bunch of career white pols covering their asses to show Black voters they are tough on crime when the corpse is black. IMO they don't care if there's a quick acquittal of their nonsensical 'profiling' murder charge. They brought the nonsense case, the jury acquitted-- blame the jury and move on back to the regular black perpertrator black victim daily chow.

jwest

Officer Smith is competent and professional, but someone should have reminded her that she was going on national TV today.

That small, balding black bailiff is probably being signed to his own reality show by now.

Account Deleted

West and O'Mara are going to either have to drag out the cross on Smith or let her go to make sure there is no direct on Tawana without cross this afternoon. They won't want Tawana's direct to be the last scene in today's act.

NK,

Everyone understands the State interest in presenting a courtroom farce for the "benefit" of black racists in order to discourage them from burning down their neighborhoods. I'm not at all sure that this lowest level of farce will achieve the desired result but I may be overestmating the gullibilty of the target audience.

NK

I have no idea whether this 'lowest level of farce' (greta phrase BTW) will dissuade rioting when there is an acquittal, I only know what the career pols are doing, I have no clue if it will prevent riots.

BTW-- the broadway comedy "Front Page" written 90 years ago used a Big City Mayor railroading a nebishy guy for shooting a Black police officer to get the urban black vote as the plot theme. Some things never change.

Ignatz

--IMO the State prosecutors are playing the trial strictly for emotional prposes.--

They've got a choice?
It's not like they have, you know, facts or evidence.

jwest

Is West going to plod along like this for the next hour and a half to prevent the next witness from taking the stand?

Account Deleted

Ignatz,

The State is wilfully hiding the legal framework and factual predicates necessary to assure vengeance for St. Trayvon's untimely demise. You must a white racist not to see what's perfectly obvious to anyone with a proper indoctrination.

(I learned that by reading the comments at Althouse yesterday. The call of the loon is perfectly clear and very loud there.)

Jim Rhoads f/k/a vnjagvet

Maybe, Jwest, but he is meticulously unraveling the state's implication that failure to find Martin's dan on the weapon meant that he did not touch the weapon, and the only way to do that is to plod through the evidence step by step.

Extraneus

They understand the VRA decision; they're just playing to their ignorant serfs, and it will work. By the end of this coming weekend, they'll have 80% of Dems convinced that the VRA itself was struck down by the court.

gad-fly

When did "Dee Dee" suddenly become "Rachel" and since she is over 18, why don't we already know her last name?

centralcal

Two threads going at once, so I am going to post this on both. I admit that I am not the most observant luddite on the web, and I only today notice some newfangled gizmo at the top left of JOM's main page. I clicked on it and lo, a Typepad toolbar appeared.

How long has that been there? Is it connected to our Typepad-in-the-ass problems?

jwest

Is Bahadoor telling scripted lies or is she freestyling?

Jane -

Waaaaaaayyyyyy OT:

Does anyone else have a problem finding chervil?

jwest

It's time to send in Don West.

In order to shake Bahadoor up, let West say that now the general overview is done, he would like to start on the details with her and he hopes to conclude everything up to the gunshot by the end of tomorrow.

Cecil Turner

She didn't see anything. The first thing she heard was obviously the screaming from the fight, and by the time she even looked, John was already telling them he was calling 911.

Clarice

I can mail you some dried chervil , Jane. I have it and never use it. Or you can go online to spice sage which is a great herb and spice operation.

Ignatz

Plodding lawyers are almost always boring but when the facts are on your side they're also almost always useful, especially if something gets appealed.

G. Fred Muggs

Hey guys, how about a funny:

A guy stuck his head into a barbershop and asked, 'How long before
I can get a haircut?

The barber looked around the shop
full of customers and said, 'About 2 hours.'

The guy left.

A few days later, the same guy stuck his head in the
door and asked, 'How long before I can get a haircut?'

The barber looked around at the shop and said, 'About 3
hours.'

The guy left.

A week later, the same guy stuck his head in the shop and asked,
'How long before I can get a haircut?*

The barber looked around the shop and said, 'About
an hour and a half .

The guy left.

The barber turned to his friend and said, 'Hey, Bob, do me a favor ,
follow him and see where he goes. He keeps asking how long he
has to wait for a haircut, but he never comes back.'

A little while later, Bob returned to the shop, laughing hysterically.
The barber asked, 'So, where does he go when he leaves?'

Bob looked up, wiped the tears from his eyes and said,

'Your house!'

Clarice

Jane I've tried three times to send you the url for MySpice Sage--to no avail--Google it..It's a fine emporium.

Clarice

Thanks, CC.

Ignatz

Chimps use barbers.
Learn something new everyday.

J. Fred Muggs

Hey, I have a barber. Big Phil. He runs the Zoo' s Tonsorial Parlor. I am cuurently wearing a Mohawk in honor of our Native Born Americans

Ignatz

Phil will probably scalp you if Bob ever tells him who else he saw coming out of his house.

Gmax

Attorney Andrew Branca tweets that he has heard a rumor that tomorrow the court clerk is going to tearfully admit to mistakenly switching the witness lists!

I take it from that and the little bit I have read that its not going swimmingly for the prosecution. Branca also says he thinks all of the prosecutors are going to file for legal name changes after this!

Corey should be humiliated for having so little courage as to put Zimmerman through all this with absolutely no case.

narciso

Branca, in his twitter, says the state will likely all of theit witnesses with second degree matter, it did not go well for them;

Eric in Boise

The headline at Fox made me laugh: "Jurors See Guns, Graphic Photos, Skittles at Zimmerman Trial".

What, no unicorns or rainbows?
