Well, Betty Ford did have to stay medicated....

Captain Hate

Prisons don't cancel visitors days because of sequestration while the inmates go on $100 million vacations. Or have their mother stay there too; although in some cases...

Joan

Peter,
Your comment is so witty. :)

Jane

I have no doubt she deserves to be in prison.

lyle

Not completely OT:

I've already chosen my favorite. You?

James D.

She really is a horrible human being. It's not even snark; she's just a terrible person, and a blight on the life of anyone unfortunate to come into contact with her.

hit and run

I do hope the poor dear can hold up 'til then.

michelle

Marlene

MO also said..." I love my husband, but sometimes when he has five things to do it is funny to watch."
That should be a news alert, did we know he can do five things at once?!
Laura Bush sat next to her, gracious as always.

Dave (in MA)

Meanwhile, the $100M-vacationing JEMF told Africans that they just need to stick with their shitty standard of living because Gaia will have a sad if they all get cars and A/C.

MarkO

" sometimes when he has five things to do it is funny to watch."

The Benghazi hideaway must have been side-splittingly funny.

hit and run

Do not come between Michelle and a tamale.

Janet --- -... .- -- .- ... ..- -.-. -.- ...

Do not come between Michelle and a tamale.

Hahahaaa!

hit and run

It’s true. It’s true. But she’s moving, though, so she can afford to have as many tamales as she wants.

Gus

We will look back on this and weep. Our nation is splitting in 2 or 3, and the GOP is worthless as tits on a bull.
Fast and Furious is 4 years old
Benghazi,
IRS
NSA
SOLYNDRA, FISKAR, etc etc etc etc
Stimulus one trillion dollars spent 4 years in a row.
McConnells office bugged.

And what do we have to show for it. Clown Boy Marco Rubio licking Schumers balls.

narciso

Makr Landler, notices there something amiss with
'Reporting for Doody' in Tel Aviv, while the region is on fire.

jimmyk

That should be a news alert, did we know he can do five things at once?!

Well, she didn't actually say he did five things at once, she said "when he has five things to do"? And that it can be funny, as in

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjarLbD9r30

jimmyk

there something amiss with 'Reporting for Doody' in Tel Aviv, while the region is on fire.

It's a bit like that joke about the guy looking for his lost wallet under the street light--it's not where he lost it, but it's the only place he can see.

Comanche Voter

Ouch that crack about Clown Boy Rubio--but he sure as heck won't get my vote anytime soon.

As for the "Prisoner" in the White House--oh my achin' back. I really feel for poor baby Moochelle. She not only bites the taxpayers hands that feed her, she kind of pees all over their heads with this junk.

As my old drill sarge used to say when talking to a sorry specimen like Moochelle, "I know you're sorry, but that's no excuse."

Captain Hate

You don't expect Don't You Know Who I Am to go to a hot spot in the Middle East, do you? It sounds like the perfect time for a Las Vegas trip imo.

Janet --- -... .- -- .- ... ..- -.-. -.- ...

Exactly, Gus.
and billions given away for Pigford.

narciso

This is a real fustercluck, I don't see anyway out of this;

narciso

A novel notion, after you Alfonse;

US Secretary of State Kerry told Egyptian foreign minister it is important to listen to Egyptian people, State Department says – @Reuters

narciso

So, the Nour party, calling for new elections, is not a fluffy bunny thing.

Ignatz

I see that in TM's link, Cokie Roberts equates Michelle with Martha Washington by comparing Martha's private letter to a niece with Michelle's very public whining [whinging?] and she is not not whining with this prisoner schtick for the first time.

You would think a poor woman who grew up in conditions worse than a Senegalese slum* would appreciate the splendor of her position a little better.

*Senegal; ranked 148 out of 181 countries by annual per capita income = ~$1900, or approximately one of Michelles shoes.

narciso

Cokie is another grandee like Sally Quinn, in this corner of Westeros, no dragon there be here.

Gus

Comanche. We are in quicksand in this country and sinking fast. UNITED HEALTHCARE has stopped selling individual insurance policies because of Obamacare. Obamacare was set up for EXACTLY THAT. Government 100% control. Meanwhile the Cuban douche bag is slow dancing with his hands on Lindsay Grahams ass. And Gay marriage is the talk of the town. I don't think my comment on Rubio was harsh at all. He's an effing clown. He's hanging with the enemy and isn't bright enough to see the enemy for who it is. This shit is getting more serious every day.

Gus

Any comments on our great Republican leaders??
Who are they??
Rubio. Pffffffffffffffft.
Christie?? Fat AND stupid??
Paul Ryan???

Inevitably we will see Ted Cruz get savaged by the media, like Palin did.

narciso

You paint an all too vivid word picture of my Paisan, Gus,

pagar

The 2:00 PM comment says Kerry is talking to the Egyptian foreign minister. On a 10:55 AM on the Back in Egypt thread, by Ranger we are told that the foreign minister and others have resigned. Who is Kerry talking to?

Gus

Pagar, he's probably chatting with MISTER ED, they have a lot in common. Faces and asses alike.

Iggy-

That's a thing I never really understood is their fake stories of growing up in poverty, and unsurprisingly, they never get called on it. It is like they ingrained those lies.

2Jack is Back4

BTW, according to the State's questioning of their own forensic medicine expert GZ should have waited until his injuries were "life threatening" before taking the liberty of protecting himself. The only proble withis tact is that GZ is on record in police interviews and the re-enactment that it was only after TM reached for his now exposed weapon that he feared for his life and shot him.

Does anyone see the State's logic here?

Rob Crawford
That's a thing I never really understood is their fake stories of growing up in poverty, and unsurprisingly, they never get called on it. It is like they ingrained those lies.

I'm reminded of an episode of the old cartoon "Duckman" where he begins having flashbacks of his time in Vietnam. Turned out he was never even in the military, and was flashing back to movies about Vietnam.

Lefties read about poverty and how wonderful and pure and noble all the poor people are. So, to prove their purity and nobility, they declare they were poor, too. Weave in a few details from the latest Oprah book-of-the-week, and voila!

rich@gmu

forensic medicine expert GZ should have waited until his injuries were "life threatening" before taking the liberty of protecting himself

Nope. Also, I didn't think that is what the law is in Florida. I thought the standard as reasonable fear of death or grievous bodily injury (so a broken nose doesn't qualify?).

rich@gmu

Rob-

Well it makes my skin crawl. I picked up a copy of The Amateur and am reading the part where he interview Rev. Wright. So far a quick and decent read, but nothing really new.

NJJan

Megyn Kelly is moving to prime time, Fox has announced. Link below

http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/megyn-kelly-moving-to-primetime-at-fox-news_b186632

narciso

Well it does illuminate where the chip on her shoulder comes from, the Daley machine's mistreatment of Papa Robinson, from her lights.

NJJan

Narciso

As the saying goes -- that's not a chip, that's a boulder!

Jane -

Does prime time start at 5:PM. If not I can't imagine where she is going. And why they don't put red eye on at 11:00 is beyond me. Plus isn't Kelly about 8 months pregnant?

narciso

So where does she go, unless she takes one of Shep's hours, she should replace O'Reilly,

NJJan

As I understand it, Kelly would get prime time upon return from maternity leave The Fox announcement didnt say nightly during the week. Everyone just seems to be assuming. Could it be a weekend prime time show replacing geraldo, huckabee, or judge? I'm just guessing.

jimmyk

You would think a poor woman who grew up in conditions worse than a Senegalese slum*

On the other hand, I suspect Martha Washington (who only complained privately, as Iggy pointed out) probably had a staff and budget more akin to that of a Senagalese slum in comparison to Michelle's preposterous spending.

NJJan

Jane

From what I am reading, prime time is considered to start at 8 pm.

jimmyk

Just those words "replacing geraldo, huckabee," are music to my ears, even if it's just speculation.

MarkO

Shouldn't "Michelle's preposterous" modify another noun?

rse

ประวัติ

Does anyone recognize what language that alphabet or group of symbols comes from?

narciso

If he's using aid as a cudgel that might be difficult;

Ranger

It looks like Lao or one of the other Sub-Indian Southeast Asian ones.

narciso

Thai, rse.

rich@gmu

that looks like hindi or tamil but not sure

narciso

You have the larger string, the default in Google Translate was Thai.

rich@gmu

Thai it is..

lyle

Ebonics?

Laura White

Can not begin to tell you how impressed I am by the ability to identify an Asian language by a scrap! I have so un-mastered a slew of Indo-European ones (have, very sadly, no sticktoitiveness with anything beyond English).

narciso

Seems to be some word for news, according to two sites, that begin with that snippet.

Ignatz

--Shouldn't "Michelle's preposterous" modify another noun?--

It's hard to think of one it shouldn't modify.
Intelligence?
Stupidity?
Grace?
Crassness?
Brain?
Arms?
Posterior?

Jimmy has discovered the Philosopher's stone of phrases.

narciso

From Bret Baier;

Various Sources expect the Egyptian military to remove Morsi from the Presidency tomorrow. #egypt.

Ignatz

--have, very sadly, no sticktoitiveness with anything beyond English--

You're not alone Laura.
Two years of high school Spanish left me with "Iman, Iman, donde esta Iman"; Iman being some little peon's perro.

The sad thing is, I learned about Iman in grammar school which means I retained nothing from my high school classes.

Ignatz

--Uh, Ignatz, Iman is a magnet;

Don't believe me narc? :)

narciso

Oh great, Tariq Ramadan, has gotten in to the act, 'this just gets better and better.

narciso

Well this was unexpected, this was what the Algerian high council was afraid of;

Egypt’s President Mursi demands army withdraw its 48-hour ultimatum and vows to resist reform efforts http://reut.rs/1639z13

rse

Thanks narciso.

It was that group of symbols and then the name of a lead change agent in English. That was a new one so I figured someone here would know.

Curious though.

I have found the Egyptian signs protesting the US support of the MB to be quite interesting. So much damage to our rep in the last 4 years.

2Jack is Back4

Anyone know the odds for a. repeat of Syria, Libya and Tunisia in Egypt? The Manchild must be tired of all this 3am phone calls.

Janet --- -... .- -- .- ... ..- -.-. -.- ...

Arab Spring? R2P? Religion of Peace?...it's almost as though our elected leaders don't know what in the hell they are doing.

Muslims seem to have lost interest in calligraphy & are into mayhem now.

2Jack is Back4

Janet,

Isn't this the culmination by these Muzzie States using an over reliance of demonizing Israel to cover up their own corruption? If I was the royal family of Saudi Arabia, I'd be checking the balance in Coutts account.

2Jack is Back4

Since yesterday I have had a recurrence of Typephus! Only change was that for a time I went back to my Typepad avatar.

narciso

I suspected it was something about globalism and spirituality or what not, rse.

Carol Herman

Well, Michelle saw her husband win a second term. And, Mitt's wife was sent home to bake cookies.

I think lots of Americans say "they want less government." And, by picking the guy least able to govern well, they voted in what they wanted.

In Obama's first term he went after the Cambridge police officer, Sgt. Crowley. He put his two cents in because he wanted to praise one of Harvard's black professors. How, exactly, did that work out for him, then?

Bonus points for holding a Beer Summit?

He also took his second victory, to a 2nd term, and turned it around, so that his popularity is tanking.

And, while he's in africa, trying to find media traction ... Egyptian citizens, risking their lives ... but coming forward in the millions ... have Morsi now, on the run.

So Michelle says "she's imprisioned." But not quite to the extreme Mubarak finds himself in.

What happens next with Morsi? I don't know.

Steve

Rush Limbaugh on Fox & Friends -- Talks Egyptian Protests Over Morsi & Obamacar

http://commoncts.blogspot.com/2013/07/rush-limbaugh-on-fox-friends-talks.html

narciso

How is this not the likely result;

daddy

BBC TV News is doing interviews of people in the Cairo/Alexandria street asking the question "Would you rather have Mubarak or Morsi?" and the unanimous answer seems to be "Mubarak."

Ranger

Narc,

I suspect the Army would love the chance to "put down" the Brotherhood. They have the bulk of the country behind them now, as opposed to 2 years ago. I don't think it would take them that long either. One thing that has consistently surprised me is how poorly the Brotherhood had performed in street violence. They've had their butt kicked in every major confrontation over the last two years, and that was against relatively disorganized local groups. I don't see them giving the Army more than a few days trouble.

Account Deleted

"What happens next with Morsi?"

If the Egyptian military is sincere, he should be dead before sunset tomorrow, along with the top cadre of the MB. The military went along with the democracy farce based upon promises made by BOzo and transmitted by Hillary. BOzo didn't deliver and the military has no further use for Morsi.

narciso

Well yes, but recall this is where Zawahiri's group came from, if driven out of power, they will not be silent long,

narciso

Morsy is a symptom of the problem, but the fact that the Nour party and Tariq Ramadan are against him, suggest the situation can always get worse.

narciso

What was that line, 'First as Tragedy;

Ranger

BTW, I have this image of Mubarak sitting in his hospital bed laughing his butt off at all of this.

matt

Obama says the planet will boil over and that Africans should not expect to have A/C and cars.

In order to mitigate the effects of global warming I plan to incorporate two new charities; Teslas for Tanzania and Kias for Kenya.

The plan is to have wealthy governments and donors fund the importation of electric vehicles to Africa.

Never mind that they will break down in 90 days because of misuse and a lack of parts or, for that matter, electricity.

I can guarantee that Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins and Ed Begley Jr. will love it.

I'm also sure the Kenyans and Tanzanians can turn the plastic and toxic materials in the batteries into valuable handicrafts.

rse

Anybody want a funny story-

There were cops in front of subdivision today and I assumed it related to the ongoing wanting people to slow down. Came back from a lunch meeting and it looked like they were filming. It's a blind curve and I assumed they were getting pictures because they are tAlking of repaving to change pitch.

So I parked to check it out. Woman comes over and asks me to stay put for a minute to stay out of the shot. They were filming a movie and wanted the street shot and were waiting on the car and holding all traffic in both directions.

Red was working today and is quite sure she would have recognized the actor in beemer they were shooting. Oh well.

matt

eeni meeny miny moe
catch a Morsi by the toe
if he hollers stand him up against a wall and shoot him
eenie, meeny, miny moe

Ranger

Oh well, I am now on the Typepad naughty list I guess.

henry

rse, another zombie invasion?

narciso

In other news, Implementation of wonderful Obamacare will be delayed till 2015.

Ranger

Trying again:

Breaking: ObamaCare employer mandate to be delayed until 2015

http://hotair.com/archives/2013/07/02/breaking-obamacares-employer-mandate-to-be-delayed-until-2015/

I think the phrase is Total Fail.

narciso

Here is that story;

Ann

Creepy ass obamacare employer mandate to be delayed until 2015!

They must of been listening to RUSH today.

MarkO

The Obamacare delay is all about the midterm elections.

Janet --- -... .- -- .- ... ..- -.-. -.- ...

Steve's Rush clip at 5:59 is good. Thanks, Steve.
