Quick, somebody tell me an example of a community organizer ever improving the lot of anybody other than him/herself.

Miss Marple

Is that a trick question, Captain Hate?

Here is something I have never understood. If there is no community organizer, does the community remain unorganized? Do people just wander around aimlessly with no purpose?

Jim Angle said dems are in every man for himself mode, due to president not leading and making such a poor statement. Says they cannot look like they don't care with elections coming up.

I am paraphrasing his comments o Twitter, but this is the gist of it.

I find this just delightful, as there will be no cover for any of these scoundrels in the bureaucracy. And Obama will get MAD and accuse people of being disloyal and such.

On top of that, he is going to have to go to Arlington on Monday.

"Organizer," whether "community" or "labor" is just a euphemism for extortionist. Without an organizer the people have to be self-reliant, and not dependent on the organizers, who invariably seem to enrich themselves in the process.

He's following suit and voting present...

A handsome articulate African American gives a rousing keynote speech at the Democratic convention circa 2004. The elite big money says he's our horse, his campaign manager calls him the "magic neg++." The media jumps on board and a list is even created to marginalize any media opposition, its called the "journolist".

Now this speaker with no experience other than speaking,is crowned as the"one", backdrops of Roman columns along with choreographed questions supplant any curious inquiry, theater trumps cynicism . So called journalists fly to Wasilla Alaska to rummage through garbage cans yet fail to go to Chicago to vet an enigmatic unknown with no qualifications.

The media and big money elect Mr Obama to President. He proceeds to commit fraud in the inducement campaigning on a Health Care program whose selling points are nothing more than snake oil. The media is aware of the fraud yet remains silent or worse marginalizes opponents as fringe racists and extremists.

A backlash ensues and the TEA Party is organically spawn and a 2010
election wave tsunami buries the Democrats. Next up;The IRS is
politicized and used to stifle Americans basic free speech principles
and individuals are targeted. The President morphs from feigned outrage
to "not a smidgen " of corruption.

The anatomy of a scandal is not this President. It is the so called main street media and they cannot be trusted. Partisan activist and inept. Epic failure of our
Constitutionally protected Fourth estate. This is more than a scandal,
its perfidy.

The VA and Gitmo eligible patient-to-health care provider ratios speak volumes.

While the Gitmo ratio is 1.5 to 1, for America’s 9 million veterans receiving VA health care and 267,930 VA employees, the ratio is 35 to 1.

A fair reading of TK's post would suggest that 91% of Americans believe that unless one is born on U.S. soil to two U.S. citizen parents, one is not a natural born citizen. That suggestion is rank falsehood.

A closer look at that poll:

"Nearly everyone agrees that someone born in the United States with two citizen parents is a natural born American, and nearly everyone agrees that someone born outside the United States to NON-citizen parents is not. About three in four – Republicans, Independents and Democrats – believe having only one citizen parent and being born in the United States qualifies you as natural born. "

The sheer, brazen dishonesty of the people at the Birther Report is simply stunning. It is small wonder that the record of birther lawsuits is zero wins, 285 losses.

U.S. Senate Republicans block veterans' health bill on budget worry

(Reuters) - U.S. Senate Republicans blocked legislation on Thursday that would have expanded federal healthcare and education programs for veterans, saying the $24 billion bill would bust the budget.

Even though the legislation cleared a procedural vote on Tuesday by a 99-0 vote, the measure quickly got bogged down in partisan fighting.

Supporters said the measure would have brought the most significant changes in decades to U.S. veterans' programs. For example, it called for 27 NEW MEDICAL FACILITIES to help a healthcare system that is strained by veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

With Democrats pressing for passage this week, Senate Republicans, backed by their leader, Mitch McConnell, attempted to attach controversial legislation calling for possible new sanctions on Iran that President Barack Obama opposes.

Plus the VA drug inspectors aren't allowed to do drug inspections.

"But all that changed, he said, about two years ago.

“I was instructed that I was to stop conducting investigations pertaining to controlled substance discrepancies,” he recalled.

He said he was personally told to stop investigating them by the hospital’s chief of staff, Dr. Vincent DeGennaro."

From the you can't make this stuff up file.

New post up. Not where I originally intended to go. As I read this week's implementation docs it became clear what is being called Common Core now was called Life Adjustment when NEA first started pushing in 1947.

So it is time to remind people of what LA intended to do and how well it fits current intentions. http://www.invisibleserfscollar.com/constantly-casting-aside-those-things-that-become-useless-in-this-caravan-of-civilization-who-decides/

And I am looking forward to having my eldest home this holiday weekend. It is so rare now for all my kids to be home. Now he doesn't try to make mom a multisyllable word. He does, however, usually have to be broken of the habit of the deadly glare to get what he wants.

Thomas Collins

The most interesting tidbit in that poll for me is that 5% think being born in the US to two US citizens doesn't make one a natural born citizen.

AliceH

The House has passed a dozen or more VA reform bills (including one just this week), which Harry Reid has blocked in the Senate.

Yesterday: http://freebeacon.com/blog/senate-democrats-just-blocked-a-bill-to-increase-accountability-at-scandal-plagued-veterans-affairs-department/

In last 18 months: http://freebeacon.com/issues/gop-rep-house-passed-a-dozen-va-reform-bills-theyre-doa-in-senate/

Rep. Jackie Walorski (R., Ind.): “We can pass bills all day long here on the House side, but if the Senate doesn’t get in gear and be held responsible and be held accountable for these veterans, it’s not going to work. … These things have been dead on arrival. Harry Reid has not moved one of these bills.”

Danube on iPad

Michael Gerson:

"In addition, the VA scandal has revealed the naked essence of the White House media management strategy, stripped of adornments such as credibility and sincerity. In a savage fit of accountability, the administration let go a VA health official — who was already scheduled to retire in less than a month. This, presumably, also saved the cost of the cake at his going-away party.

"Then White House press secretary Jay Carney insisted, nine times, that the American Legion was pleased with this housecleaning. The American Legion, however, had actually pronounced it “business as usual” and called for the immediate replacement of Shinseki. What could possess Carney to make a claim that could be immediately and completely disproved? It indicates a strategy that has dispensed with persuasion: Pick a minor scapegoat, institute an inconsequential reform, claim broad support, then insist, tomorrow, that the whole matter is old news."

SAN FRANCISCO, May 23, 2014 -- Typepad, a subsidiary of SixApart Media today announced that it has hired Kathleen Sebelius as its new Chief Technical Officer (CTO). Sebelius will begin her work immediately. As CTO, Sebelius will be responsible for developing and executing Typepad's technical strategy and leading its technology team. This includes ensuring the Typepad blogging platform operates smoothly as readership continues to grow, as well as driving the continuing innovation of Typepad's software platform to service Typepad's readers and bloggers.

“Kathleen has the perfect mix of commitment and managerial experience, and her background as well-connected public servant is particularly important to Typepad," said Phil Wigginbottham, CEO of SixApart Media. "We strongly believe she is the right person to continue and advance the level of experience that users have come to expect from Typepad."

Most recently, Sebelius managed one of the largest tech projects in recent history with the launch of the Affordable Care Act Exchanges, as Secretary of Health and Human Services in the administration of President Barack Obama. Before her Cabinet appointment in April, 2009, she served as Governor of Kansas beginning in 2003, where she was named one of America’s Top Five persons who look like Cruella De Vil by Time Magazine. From 1995 to 2003 she used her position as Kansas Insurance Commissioner mostly for personal gain. She was a member of the Kansas House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995.

Forbes has named Ms. Sebelius one of the 100 most powerfully inept women in the world.

It's working!

"Nearly 1,500 Californians have complained to state regulators in the last four months about their Obamacare coverage purchased through California´s insurance exchange. New data reveal the biggest category of complaints centers on getting confirmation of health plan enrollment and basic issues such as getting an identification card to obtain care. Many consumers have also encountered difficulty finding a doctor who accepts their new coverage, as well as frustration with inaccurate provider lists, according to the California Department of Managed Health Care."
