Happy, happy, joy, joy Ignatz

--“It’s too hard,” he said after being caught in Mexico recently and sent home to Honduras.--

I'm shocked that Mexico has a different policy for illegals crossing its borders than it demands from us. Shocked.

NK(withnewsoftware)

Ig-- as you know, Mexican border enforcement is racist, classist and cruel. Enforcing THEIR south/southwestern borders of course.

Captain Hate

This post needs to be stapled to Eric Cantor's expanding forehead.

centralcal

Speaking of Cantor, Captain Hate, Laura Ingraham said Obama should have exchanged him (Cantor) for Bergdahl.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Threadkiller

Ig, your funny reminds me of a favorite:

http://mcclintock.house.gov/2010/05/response-to-president-calderon.shtml

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ldx8gZDwZWs

This should be the benchmark for the often misused "epic takedown."

Captain Hate

That's pretty funny, cc; either Cantor is deliberately keeping himself in the dark with how many people are infuriated by him or he doesn't think enough GOPe types will be tossed to make a difference.

Porchlight

Ingraham is gunning for Cantor. She's been campaigning regularly for his challenger, Dan Brat. She said this AM that she appeared at a Brat rally last night in Cantor's neighborhood and it was so crowded that people ended up parking in front of Cantor's house and walking to the venue.

I usually can't listen to her, the immigration stuff is just too depressing.

Stephanie

“Soon we’ll be hearing about the ‘war on women.’ Well, I have a message for them. I’ve been to war. And for their cheap political attacks, well I look forward to hearing Bruce Braley lecture me about what’s best for women.”

Joni Ernst

Love her!

Captain Hate

Cantor is such a major disappointment because he aggressively sold himself as a "conservative" six or more years ago. Few things irritate me as much as being betrayed.

Jane

Now this is typical Obama:

He's trying to force some kind of constitutional crisis/civil war. That's about all I can figure right now.

Ace has picked up the Cochran tweet.

Sux to be hoist on your own PR snuggle.* Really sad that they thought this tweet was a good snuggle.

*PR snuggle... the 'me too' brand of PR exemplified by trying to reduce the distance between yourself and your opponent or a cause you don't normally give a sht about but want to be associated with favorably.

NK(withnewsoftware)

I see where ProgCentral has sent a new meme to DuDa.

Captain Hate

It's hard to avoid that conclusion, Porch. Ayers got off on the idea of a racial civil war. I think the JEF has gotten a good look at the polls and came to the conclusion that even Stedman's voting booth chicanery couldn't change things and that Congress will be reversing his agenda, possibly with a veto proof majority.

Captain Hate

This post needs to be stapled to Eric Cantor's expanding forehead.
You wouldn't happen to be watching the Fargo series, CH?
James D.

I know some people here find DuDa amusing, but I guess I just don't get it.

As far as I'm concerned, the only value he has as a human being is for whatever healthy organs he might have that can be harvested and transplanted into decent people, on the happy day that he does the world a favor and drops dead.

Some Guy

He's trying to force some kind of constitutional crisis/civil war. That's about all I can figure right now.

Hanlon's Razor: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

Some Guy

transplanted into decent people, on the happy day that he does the world a favor and drops dead.

That assumes someone finds him in his mom's basement in a timely manner. I suspect it will be the smell that leads to the discovery, and at that point it's too late.

Jane

This is him doubling down which he has done before. It's a way to telegraph to the base that he is wise and correct and everything else is just political.

James D.

Good point, Some Guy. And I kind of doubt there'd be much that could be used anyway. I imagine the kidneys and liver would be unusable for sure.

Porchlight

Hanlon's Razor: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

But it is not adequately explained by stupidity. Otherwise he'd stupidly wander into doing something beneficial once in awhile.

I suspect it will be the smell that leads to the discovery
In this case it would be a change in the smell from what it usually is.
Captain Hate

Hanlon's Razor: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

I'm trying to figure out if being stupid would lead to things happening that would benefit the country just by sheer dumb luck. The economy has been in the toilet since before he took office and nothing he's done has worked. I think attributing things to stupidity gives him an undeserved excuse.

dd is an honest lib. He knows Obama is a dangerous incompetent. He knows the Dems are scumbags. Hell, he's one of them, but he's honest about it. It's a team sport, and he knows the playbook, and is even willing to explain it to the opposing team. (Which means he doesn't think we'd know what to do with it anyway, and is largely right about that.)

He also has a pretty good record for predictions. Did he not predict that Roberts would take the coward's way out in the health care case?

Porchlight

Captain Hate

I know some people here find DuDa amusing, but I guess I just don't get it.

You get it fine; he's an idiot and a disgusting excuse for a human being. He has a strange ability to discuss movies with a decent degree of insight which I find interesting.

Extraneus

I also thought his BoE-like dialog was funny.

Porchlight

Did he not predict that Roberts would take the coward's way out in the health care case?take the coward's way out in the health care case?

No. He later claimed to have done so, but IIRC all he originally predicted was that would be upheld 6-3:

http://justoneminute.typepad.com/main/2012/06/obamas-partial-retreat-from-history.html?cid=6a00d83451b2aa69e2017615836962970c#comment-6a00d83451b2aa69e2017615836962970c

He did not predict Roberts' vote to uphold.

He also predicted "the court will find the entire law Constitutional." Wrong. Roberts said the mandate was unconstitutional and changed it to a tax, as we all sadly know.

Other dudu predictions: Zimmerman's bond would be denied (right), Pawlenty would be Romney's VP pick (wrong)

I do find dudu amusing sometimes, though, I admit it.

Cilizza notes at the WaPo that Obama's reputation for competence (it is to laugh) is eroding:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2014/06/03/americans-are-starting-to-doubt-president-obama-is-a-good-boss/?tid=pm_pop

He cites Pew data from December 2013 back to Feb 2009. Pew asked about Obama's ability to "get things done" 11 times during that period. Doesn't Pew have more recent data? I skimmed the 2014 surveys they don't seem to have asked the question since December 2013.

What do you think those numbers would look like now if Pew took the trouble to ask?

I still hold that DuDa is a bgates or other's parody of a lefty from Daily Kos or some other LGF type site. He is too pat and predictable. Satire, especially parody, has irony as its base so you can read and relate and laugh at the same time at the perfect absurdity.

No, its bgates way of staying on JOM without anyone even noticing him.

On Topic: via AP (LUN):

"About 1 in 4 people who signed up [on the Health Care Exchange] have [data] discrepancies, creating a huge paperwork jam for the feds and exposing some consumers to repayment demands, or possibly even loss of coverage, if they got too generous a subsidy."

You may ask yourself, what does this Obamacare-subsidies story have to do with a blog post on illegal immigration triggers and trends? The answer is a single sentence tucked into the penultimate paragraph:

"Atop the priority list are citizenship and immigration issues, then annual income."

Nobody could have seen this coming, indeed.

Porchlight

Ugh, AliceH.

Citizens with health concerns, step aside. We have illegals to attend to.

the interesting detail about that Hastings profile, is it revealed the players when they weren't posturing, two years ago, Hillary and Panetta were against, so replacing them with Lurch and Caligula's Horse, swung the deal, years later, she presented herself as being in favor, McCain flips, only Chambliss was consistently opposed

Good Morning.

I just awoke and had another look at the WSJ video of Bergdahl's release I posted last night. The video has been changed. It still shows him rubbing his eyes for cause, so that is good, but now it has some Brit reporter lady telling us that the video shows Bergdahl looking "very giant, very thin."

Maybe she is watching more of the video than I am watching, but he doesn't look "very giant. very thin" with what I see via my own eyes.

Just starting catch-up, so I'll find out what you guys think, but I think we're back to that old slogan, "Who you gonna' believe, a reporter, or your lying' eyes.

In the link embedded in narciso's 2:32 PM post, there is material at the lower right hand side of the web page indicating that Harry Reid's office is not backing off on the claim that he was informed Friday of Bergdahl's upcoming release, even though a POTUS spokescritter initially insisted Harry was informed on Saturday along with the other Congresscritters. The POTUS spokescritter now has no comment.

Ari Fleischer on FOX is saying negative stuff about Susan Rice, telling us that the White House spokespeople like Carney should be very angry at her because what she is saying is causing them real problems.

Does Ari Fleischer not understand that she says what Obama and the ferret are telling her to say? Seriously? It's as if Ari thinks Susan Rice is a loose cannon out there running her lips without direction. C'mon Ari. Get your head out of your rectum.

Susan Rice says what she is told to say. Period.

"If Carter gave us Reagan, who knows what the JEF could lead to?"

JEF, has demonstrated handsomely, the faults of their philosophy. People are feeling it, not hearing about it from old people like me. That is a beneficial reminder and an unintended consequence.

Do I think that a Reagan is coming? No, but the not so subtle reminders of the limitations of the Progressives is an eye opener for many, that will last.

I do respond to DuDa because I find him to be a clever troll, and he definitely mocks his ProgCentral overlords. He may actually be an Irish ex-pat illegal here in the states... and I do like the Irish (RACIST!) But he is a Prog and he probably does hate us, yes literally hate, because he fears us. he's afraid we stop paying taxes and the gravey train dries up, and he also projects on to us the awful things the Progs would do to political opponents (like us) if they really had the power they crave.

Weather up here is spectacular today. Your daughter is going to love it. I'm sitting on my couch but can see the tip of Iliamna in the distance at some 130 miles away. Mosquito's were ferocious on last night's dog walk however, and the Pavlov volcano blowing up is unfortunately way too far away for fireworks. Here's the latest on the volcano, , and we just had a 5.8 earthquake this morning.

He believes in fairy dust economics and kumbayah world affairs, and lacks the wisdom to doubt his own brilliance. Like a earnest college freshman he distains anyone who doesn't see either his view of things or his obvious brilliance.

Most of these twits get set on a better path when they get their first real job. Unfortunately for all of us, this is his first real job.

There is no master plan, it's just stupidity and incompetence armored by arrogance.

Shep asks his former Navy Seal commentator if he is comfortable about talking about Bergdahl as a potential deserter or potential collaborator without having had him back here and having a through investigation to find out the facts.

Shep says that he himself in a studio in midtown Manhattan does not have the qualifications to make such determinations, and now Shep is questioning if the Seal just insinuated that Secretary Hegal may have done this exchange for Politics?

Miss Marple

I have had 5 years to observe, and I come down on the side of Malice.

He's very clever at framing things with straw men and base accusations to get the people turning against each other. He fans the flames of religious and racial hatred.

He stabs out allies i the back and sucks up to our enemies. H uses the military when it suits him, but disdains the men and women who fight.

He apologizes for the US's history and very existence. He disdains the Constitution and wants it re-written.

Malice, not stupidity.

Miss Marple,

That's a false dichotomy. His organ grinders masked his stupidity well enough through '12 but they're gone now and the gild is flaking off the turd rather rapidly. I am aware of absolutely no objective evidence to sustain an assertion of more than very mediocre intelligence for President Barack Hussein Obama. IMO - he would need a tall booster chair to hit three digits wrt practical intelligence.

Some Guy has it covered.

Miss Marple

I will go with both, but I will not ascribe all of this to mere stupidity.
