Am I first. Hands up, don't shoot!

GMax

Pants Up, DONT loot...

Stephanie - It's Bowl Time!!! Merry Christmas!

Don't be waiting

I see what you did there...

Jack is Back!

OT already. In Antwrp at 7:05pm local time watching Steelers v. Chiefs. The world is shrinking before my eyss.

You have never watched an NFL game until you watch one with the announcers doing it in Flemish. As if they are experts:)

But they get all the NBA games here. Very popular v. NFL or MLB.

Danube on iPad

The remainder of DeBlasio's term will be very unpleasant for him.

Carol_Herman

How do you get rid of all of society's crazies?

Plus, calculating the profits the media makes when running these stories "above the fold."

It's like North Korea. It plays directly into their hands.

What can the cops do? Demand bullet proof glass. And, keep their windows closed tight!

Oh, and a few raids on mosques ... looking for weapons! (No, you don't need the mayor's permission.)

Sure, Obama can keep doing his harms ... but he's already pissed all over the "prog" label. Should be interesting to see what word they come up with to replace "prog." Which replaced liberal.

Sh$t on a stick might be a good substitute?

narciso

yes, that's the ticket

one step is you don't fill their ears with hatred, like the rap that has become muzak

Buckeye

JiB

Talked to an ex-pat Brit a few weeks ago. He has been in the US for 10 years or so but gets back to Birmingham frequently.

Said that he is amazed at how popular NFL has become in England, games always televised and on in most pubs on Sunday night.

Stephanie - It's Bowl Time!!! Merry Christmas!

Sure, Obama can keep doing his harms ... but he's already pissed all over the "prog" label. Should be interesting to see what word they come up with to replace "prog." Which replaced liberal.

That made me laugh. Love it.

Threadkiller

Ben may know of another reason the rappers made the video.

narciso

really this is not Gabe's week:

http://acecomments.mu.nu/?post=353905

Strawman Cometh

Expect DeBlasio to hire the MB for his personal security.

GMax

Is any week Gabe's week? Just sayin'

Jack is Back!

BTW, in case your are currious:: the Flemish for unecessary roughness, personal foul and roughing the passer, are ,well the same:)

There are even American English words that are untranslateble.

Miss Marple

Back from noon mas. When I first looked at the main page I thought there were several new posts, instead of just one.

Whew!

GMax

Expect DeBlasio to hire the MB

Naw, Nation of Islam is more likely. Calypso Louie has better shots. Wait is Bane blue eyed?

Stephanie - It's Bowl Time!!! Merry Christmas!

Gabe is an idiot. And not up to date on the facts of the case. We do know that the killer, IN HIS OWN WORDS POSTED FOR THE WORLD TO SEE AND COMPREHEND, stated that he was going to kill cops.

Obtuse, it's what's for dinner in the apologist wing of the GOPe.

Captain Hate

I would say that the post is one of Malor's dumbest except that wouldn't be true. Exquisite timing though; definitely an A+ on that.

Jack is Back!

Steph,

I am pretty much coinvinced that our chattering class including Malor do not recognize that 100 lone wolves equal a pack and a conspiracy to attack America, the west and everyihing we value one razor cut at a time.

Whoever in AQ or ISIS or Talibunnie World thought it up is not a stone ager but someone who recognizes our vulnerability to stereotype under certain conditions and is bringing in conditions we don't recognize.

donald

I'm fascinated these days with Jezebel (Mr Maguire has shown up recently) due to the UVA thing.

Since last night, it's been all isolated incident, and no calling for the blood of the police has nothing to do with this at all. Mean what kind of ducking racist would even infer that?

They don't let me post there.

donald

That should read: I mean what kind of fucking...

narciso

Let face it, Mayor Bane spent his honeymoon in Corto Maltese, and hasn't learned anything in the succeeding thirty some years.

Stephanie - It's Bowl Time!!! Merry Christmas!

Come on Capt, give Gabe a cookie. He is really good at preemptively bowing to his perceived masters. Even better than a trained seal, IMO.

narciso

Corto Maltese, is the standin Latin American hellhole where the real Bane comes from, a combination of Guatemala and El Salvador, it's supposedly where they sent Bruce Wayne into the pit.

Miss Marple

I go with the poster who asked Gabe if he missed the part in law school where they taught about the crime "incitement to riot."

Words actually MEAN things. They are not to be just spewn forth for effect without regards to consequences.

I am going back to present-wrapping for a while. Maybe some Christmas music will put me in a better mood.

narciso

maybe in the Fahrenheit 451 sense:

Diggs

Police unions have been funding Democrat/Leftist candidates for years. This is the predictable outcome. They get no sympathy from me.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

narciso

'fighting words doctrine' don't they call it,

Danube on iPad

*sigh*

.One 30-year-old local who gave his first name only as Carlos, didn’t hear the gunfire but saw the hysteria and walked to the police tape.
And he couldn’t believe his eyes or ears. He didn’t see shock or sorrow but glee and jubilation.

“'A lot of people were clapping and laughing,' he said.
Carlos said fired-up locals were staring at two cops killed in cold blood and saying they got what they deserved.
'Some were saying, ‘They deserved it,’ and another was shouting at the cops, ‘Serves them right because you mistreat people!’ he said."

Danube on iPad

The Aaron Rodgers commercials are the worst thing on television.

MarkO

Why would any sane person work as a policeman in NYC?

Let those neighborhood police themselves.

narciso

frankly I'm a little disappointed with Abbott's reaction to the atrocity this week in Sydney,

MarkO

NO. NO. Flo from Progressive.

Excluding of course, Fred Thompson's effort to have seniors hand their homes over to his sponsors.

Holly

Steph, I emailed my picks earlier in the wee hours. Haven't read through the comments to see if you got them. Will do so later.

Ben

"The remainder of DeBlasio's term will be very unpleasant for him."

How is it you know that? Are you Criswell or Karnak?

jimmyk

I posted a week or two ago about conservatives in Oz increasingly getting frustrated with Abbott. At that time it was some kind of environmental thing, a small amount of money, but part of a pattern of shifting toward the mushy middle. It's disappointing, and surprising given his earlier directness and plain-talk conservatism.

GMax

What Pitzer does not know that "history is prologue"? Its not like Bane has not been a disaster for NYC already, or anything like that of course...

Ben

LA is first again with body cameras. It looks like this is gonna happen. I applaud the progressive move, but I believe it's primary goal is to reduce the drain on City/County coffers. it will be expensive in the short term, but cost effective over time.

GMax

But wait, Dinkins was a success so why not Bane? I mean if you dont mind the trash not being picked up, and dont mind crime stats through the roof. Other than that Mrs. Lincoln...

Stephanie - It's Bowl Time!!! Merry Christmas!

First? We've had em here for ages, Ben.

Got em Holly... :)

narciso

have they made much of this, detail:

http://therightscoop.com/i-know-this-is-hard-to-believe-but-the-nypd-murderer-was-a-muslim/

perhaps just an arab nationalist, as with Zale Thompson,

btw, they had a documentary about Muammar,
and they had one of our favorite cup of
crazy!! Gwenyth Todd, as one of their experts, identified as the NSC director,
holy Walter Mitty,

Ben

Where is that? LAPD buying 7000 in one shot.

NYPD sampling with 80 to start.

Bori

I can't wait for the first Defense Lawyer to sue to suppress the body camera video because it is discriminatory or racist and devastating to his defense. Progress!!

narciso

yes, that wouldn't surprise, Zaphod's statement was just pure Lillian Hellman,

Miss Marple

I am waiting until the use of body cameras is knocked down by the ACLU or some other group. The Left Hand often doesn't know what the other Left Hand is doing.

We have cameras on cars here.

Ben

Video can't be FOI'd. It's only for court testimony.

Jane

I am so pissed off about these dead cops that it actually amazes me.

Miss Marple

Bori,

I see you and I are thinking identically! That was rather spooky!

Pagar

" "incitement to riot."

No one has done more to create "the incitemnt to riot in the USA.

the:"http://ngoldfarb.wordpress.com/2008/10/22/barack-obamas-boss-and-mentor-william-ayres-group-killed-more-people-than-the-kkk-ku-lux-klan/

Jane

What would someone have to do to get you guys to stop talking to Ben?

Ben

Belt recorders and dash-cams are optional for cops to on/off.

When it's policy across the board to keep them on, that's the difference.

Stephanie - It's Bowl Time!!! Merry Christmas!

Snellville PD in Georgia. Many Gwinnett County cops have em, too. When you aren't blowing your $$ on diversity outreach and liberal BS, you can afford to properly equip your officers.

Snellville police responded Wednesday to the Obama administration’s $263 million proposal to provide body cameras for the nation’s police departments. Snellville police began more than five years ago to buy body cameras and now have 46 VIEVU body cameras and dashboard cameras in all of its vehicles, enough for every officer. Like a bulletproof vest and handcuffs, the cameras are part of an officer’s standard equipment.

Five years ago. You 'progressives' are a day late and dollars short. As usual.

OT, Cybervandalism, winning the future,

Miss Marple

Jane, If you want to get over-the-top with rage, go read some off the Twitter comments from people who are GLEEFUL and PROUD about this.

Our nation is seriously off the rails, and I place it all at the feet of Obama.

He could have brought this nation together, encouraged education among black youth, helped end the legacy of race bitterness on both sides.

No, instead he wanted revenge and to show us that he knew best, hoping in the process to destroy this nation. He is truly an evil man and I am not ashamed to say so.

Ben

I had no idea Georgia was progressive. Great news.

Stephanie - It's Bowl Time!!! Merry Christmas!

Jane, boredom relief? :)

Meh, he's too easy. I'm gonna go finish wrapping presents and maybe make some more cookies. I don't think I've baked enough, yet. :eyeroll:

Miss Marple

Body cameras are good for 2 reasons:

1. To make sure officers follow correct procedure.

2. (MORE IMPORTANT) To cut down on the false claims of police brutality.

donald

Falcon fever!

Stephanie - It's Bowl Time!!! Merry Christmas!

I had no idea Georgia was progressive. Great news.

the Weather Underground was trained in Cuba, much like the Brigatte Rossi was trained in Czechoslavakia, and the Baader Meinhof had east bloc ties,

Janet - healthy and jolly as a joker!

The "racist America" meme is just like the "rape culture" meme. There are whole squalid businesses set up to sell their hatred & divisiveness.

I went & looked up Tim Wise & his rant that he put out after the 2010 elections. This is a guy that is PAID to regularly speak on campuses.

a bit - "And in the pantheon of American history, conservative old white people have pretty much always been the bad guys, the keepers of the hegemonic and reactionary flame, the folks unwilling to share the category of American with others on equal terms.

Fine, keep it up. It doesn’t matter.

Because you’re on the endangered list.

And unlike, say, the bald eagle or some exotic species of muskrat, you are not worth saving.

In forty years or so, maybe fewer, there won’t be any more white people around who actually remember that Leave it to Beaver, Father Knows Best, Opie-Taylor-Down-at-the-Fishing Hole cornpone bullshit that you hold so near and dear to your heart."
......

"We just have to be patient.

And wait for you to pass into that good night, first politically, and then, well…

Do you hear it?

The sound of your empire dying? Your nation, as you knew it, ending, permanently?

Because I do, and the sound of its demise is beautiful. ..."

http://www.timwise.org/2010/11/an-open-letter-to-the-white-right-on-the-occasion-of-your-recent-successful-temper-tantrum/

Here's the list of where he will be speaking (scroll to his name) - http://www.speakoutnow.org/userdata_display.php?modin=50&format=event

26 engagements coming up...to spread poison.

narciso

another dialogue that won't occur:

Ben

He sounds like Alex Jones. Both hawk their wares within the capitalistic construct. Books, cd's, dvd's 'git yers here' said the carnival barker.

Pagar

Thanks narciso.

PDinDetroit

"Video can't be FOI'd. It's only for court testimony."

Wrong. We here in Michigan have been FOIA'ing police video and audio for YEARS and getting it mostly unredacted (think no PII released). Many times, those in the Open Carry Community have been leading the way with these efforts.

narciso

you're welcome pagar, I've made more than a few errors with urls over time,

Ben

"Wrong."

I was talking about LAPD.

Today's sermon was on Micah 5, the warning of the future fall of Israel, but also one of the many harbingers of Christ's coming, and ultimately that of his kingdom,

PDinDetroit

Depending upon locality, the pointing of a firearm at another person is a use of Deadly Force and punishable under the Law. I hope that these public defenders are taken to task.

PDinDetroit

"I was talking about LAPD."

Got a link stating so?

James D.

Janet @ 3:34

Seems to me that if all those colleges can afford to bring Tim Wise in to speak, then maybe they have enough money and they don't need any taxpayer funding...

Iggy

Progressive believe in unfettered state power.
The idea that philosophy will bring or is intended to bring police power to heel is absurd.
Progressives believe in police power being used unmercifully, just against the enemies of "progress", rather than common criminals, who are viewed by progressives as the victims of the enemies of progress.

daddy

JimmyK from 2 threads back on being in NYCity last night:

Jane, I was out last night and didn't notice much, but it was a bit early. My sense is that this is a wake-up for people who got complacent, and forgot that putting a monster like DiBlasio in office is a serious, life-and-death matter, not just an expression of hipness.

Perfect description, JimmyK.

When we keep electing, in hip, juvenile, edgy fashion, cats as mayors, and gay boys as HomeComing Queens, and Pro Wrestlers as Governors, eventually we wind up with Marxist monsters and Race-Baiters in positions of real power, and the consequences quit being irrelevant.

Assault: "Intentionally putting another person in reasonable apprehension of an imminent harmful or offensive contact. No intent to cause physical injury needs to exist, and no physical injury needs to result."

Pointing a firearm at another is an assault under criminal and tort law.

James D.

You must be thrilled, Stephanie. You're all set for next week - Falcons vs. Panthers for the division title...

daddy

FOX says a man in Memphis tweeting he is/or was on his way to NYCity to kill 2 more cops.

Just turned on FOX and haven't read the thread so you are probably already aware of this.

Did the guys who made that disgusting video get tax breaks or other aid from NYC? Inquiring minds want to know.

Here is the threat that was posted on Instagram:

Meanwhile, Kerry interferes in Israeli elections, tells Pallies (in effect) they'll have more flexibility after the Israeli election. Sound familiar?

narciso

things that make you go hmm:

http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2014/12/20/did-cop-killer-ishmael-brinsley-visit-terror-tied-brooklyn-mosque/

PDinDetroit

"The LAPD has yet to craft its policies about the use of the cameras and recordings, and officials are still discussing what access the officers will have. Beck stressed that the protocols would be finalized before the cameras hit the streets, and that they would be presented to the Police Commission for approval.

Beck also said Tuesday that the footage would not be released to the public and would be available only through criminal and civil court proceedings."

Body Cameras not in place until July 2016?

Policies not yet formulated let alone approved?

ACLU doesn't support Public Access, at least until it needs FOIA access to the video/audio recordings.

The ACLU was able to get Drone Strike Program information from the current administration (READ: CIA) thru the use of FOIA. Should be no issue getting access to Body Camera Audio/Video Recordings through FOIA, just like anywhere else.

Jane

Coolness is now officially uncool.

narciso

David 'Abbott' Kirkpatrick, wondered today why everyone is toadying to Team Doha?

Ben

Well, there is clearly a policy wrt officers disabling the cam, or removing the antennae, so they have that going for them.

PDinDetroit

"The slain officer, Charles Kondek, was a 17-year veteran of the Tarpon Springs Police Department.

Kondek, 45, was a New York City police officer for five years before moving to Florida, the sheriff's office said."

Another NYC Police Officer shot and killed. Tolerance isn't so tolerable anymore.

PDinDetroit

"Well, there is clearly a policy wrt officers disabling the cam, or removing the antennae, so they have that going for them."

Policy not yet defined nor approved.

Ben

"LAPD Chief Charlie Beck said Tuesday that any officer caught tampering with the new body cameras would face serious punishment."

Sounds pretty definitive.

Pagar

"maybe they have enough money and they don't need any taxpayer funding..."

James D, the leftists never have enough taxpayer money and they waste every penny they get their hands on IMO.

http://donsurber.blogspot.com/2014/12/21-million-down-education-rathole.html

"Mary C Snowsaw its math proficiency rate drop from about 27 percent in 2012-13 to 20 percent in 2013-14. Its reading proficiency rate dropped from 27 percent to 17 percent."

This is what leftists do to education.
"Five miles south of Mary C. Snow lies Kenna Elementary, which has the second-highest test scores among the 401 elementary schools in the state. Mary C. Snow ranks fourth-to-last."

PDinDetroit

"The LAPD has yet to craft its policies about the use of the cameras and recordings, and officials are still discussing what access the officers will have. Beck stressed that the protocols would be finalized before the cameras hit the streets, and that they would be presented to the Police Commission for approval."

Sounds pretty undefined and unapproved.

narciso

I wouldn't doubt that they got funding, perhaps through the Community Relations Service,

Ben

That's the details they are talking about. Everything has to be in writing...lawyers and such. But the outline is clear.

They will have body cams with no funny business.
