Flodigarry

First?

Flodigarry

My initial thought was that Lynch purposely composed herself so she wouldn't have to make the call. I'm still leaning that way but there are so many layers of deception I suspect this is the shiny object to distract from some other bombshell.

Flodigarry

Composed s/b compromised

Buckeye

I would love to be surprised by the outcome.

TM, does this mean that the rumors of your intent to vote for the old hag are off base?

henry

3 1/2 hours of taking the 5th, followed by a weekend of drinking the 5th. Note that first we had a Raz poll with Trump leading. The Torcelli maneuver is lurking.

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

If you want to see something funny, go to one of those birder sites and start playing bird songs for your pooch.

Jack is Back!

If you read that Observer interview with one of the security people, it appears she was ambushed by Clinton and that he purposedly delayed his departure to do so.

This is what proud grandparents do. They want to talk about their grandkids to anyone who will listen. The same with golfers and fishermen.

glasater

I'll bet that 3 & 1/2 hour interview with the FBI today seemed longer to The Hill then that 11 hour testimony she suffered through in front of the House committee..and she loves to offer up on her veracity

Dear TM..dear leader..sure hope you're wrong and Hill doesn't skate on this..

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

Went to that McClatchyDC link Beasts provided last thread.
McClatchy is a long, long way from being even slightly right wing, but I kept clicking on 'view 10 more comments' and I couldn't find a single one that was in support of the wretched ghoul.

maryrose

Iggy
Good to know people are finally sizing up
The Observer article and the reporter on OReilly is where I got my information last night when I stated that he bounded up the steps to enter her plane uninvited.
Henry
I full expect the Torricelli move to happen and either Biden or Bernie to benefit.

maryrose

Should become wise to her lies.

maryrose

TM
Do you think Hillary will get a pass or would you rather not say?

Thomas Collins

I'm predicting no pass, maryrose. Indictment, indictment plus plea deal, or pardon and drops out of race.

But since I've already lost a bet this election season, I'm not putting anything up.

With the Clintons, I could see indictment plus no plea plus continues on in the race and goes full nuclear on right wing conspiracy talk.

buccaneer morgan

Does inspector dreyfus have grandchildren, maybe that was a discussion point.

Thomas Collins

My favorite explanation for the meeting was that Bill needed a diversion to cover up a liaison he was having in Phoenix.

maryrose

TC
I agree with and think Biden or Bernie will pick up the baton and Hil is out.Theory on McClatchy comments was Bill was asking for special prosecutor to delay a decision until after the election.

Marlene

Hi from NH! I have so many memories in NH.
I visited my aunt and uncle today and their son,my cousin who I used to babysit. Gawd,I'm old!
Hillary is running lots of ads in NH. I hope that she just goes away by some miracle. Indictment, health or anything!

windansea

I am predicting a pass and no indictment with the knowledge that I am almost always wrong in my predictions.

jimmyk on iPhone

Has this been discussed? More of the same from the Clinton crime family, but as flagrant as it gets.

http://www.wsj.com/articles/hillarys-strange-security-adviser-1467328345

Probably behind the pay wall, but it's about Hillary putting some Wall St trader in a national security position, where he'd have access to classified information, after he gave $150K to the Clinton Foundation.

Thomas Collins

A delay request makes sense to me, maryrose. The other thing I was thinking about was whether Bill was worried about his own potential criminal liability for Clinton Foundation shenanigans and wanted to try to sweet talk Lori. But if I had to bet another tat, it would be for a delay request.

Buckeye

No way the old hag throws in the towel.

Doubt an indictment in time to effect the race.

Still praying for a massive stroke or early onset rigor mortis, don't care how induced.

Jack is Back!

Didn't we discuss Fernando a montha ago? Is there anything new?

I am still going "Indict" simply because how after Petraeus and other lower level prosecutions for sloppy handling of classified material do you justify no indictment? Trump will have a holiday and Comey and the FBI professionals will lose whatever credibitlity they still have after the Tsarnev brothers, San Bernadino and Orlando.

Just sayin"

DrJ

Elie Wiesel has died at the age of 87.

buccaneer morgan

What was interesting about Fernando is the company he kept on that board, scowcroft, cirincione of plowshares.

lyle

Snakes On A Plane!

James D.

With the Clintons, I could see indictment plus no plea plus continues on in the race and goes full nuclear on right wing conspiracy talk.

I don't believe for one second there will be any indictment. I have no faith that there is anyone left at DoJ with a functioning conscience or the nerve to obey it if they do happen to still have one.

But if she IS indicted, I can see it going exactly the way TC suggests. With the caveat that when the Dems' internal polls dip below, say, 43% or so, Hillary will "have a stroke" and be replaced at the last minute on the ticket.

lyle

Three and a half hours of her talking about her yoga routine.

I agree with Jack. Teh Donald is going after her like a ravenous cur on a hambone if she skates. (Psst, all you #neverTrump types: I call him a "cur." You're welcome.) 😎

MaryD

LOL, Lyle! You sure can twist a knife!!

lyle

No. Indictment. Ever.

The campaign ads are already being made. The MFM will fake some chin-pullling for about, oh...a coupla days about the "optics" then behold the new saintly grannie!

Putin and the Chinese and the Mullahs and ISIS are licking their chops.

Marlene

Oh Geez! I'm stuck watching MSNBC at Mom's,as I've been whining about. Chuck Todd just had an "exclusive" telephone interview with her. She told him Bill's meeting with Lynch was a chance encounter,a social exchange. She sounded vey happy for a woman who spent 3 hours with the FBI this morning. UGH.

Marlene

*very happy*

Miss Marple

I have never thought she would be indicted, because Bill would have to be as well, and there is no way they would indict a former president.

If the evidence is overwhelming, I look for a health issue to take her out as a way to placate the FBI. Then at least she wouldn't have access to any new classified information.

Once she is out of the race I would expect a winding down of the Clinton Foundation.

Then lawsuits and maybe they will have to deal with angry foreign donors on their own.

clarice

Not predicting nothing--she deserves to be indicted . I do think there will be a further dip in her favorables whatever Lynch does or doesn't do to her.

Beasts of England

I'll try the middle: a minor rebuke for server security and the same for unmarked classified emails. No gross mishandling violations or espionage act charges. And you know it really chaps my rear to even type that...

I think it's impossible for her to skate completely - by volume of improperly handled emails alone - so she'll take a slap on the wrist, have her minions repeat that 'they were unmarked!', it becomes old news, and it's over.

Thomas Collins

The optimist in me says Bill's date with Lori was a desperation maneuver stemming from inside knowledge Bill has that FBI has the goods on her.

henry

At the very least, the emails so far disclosed do contradict her Congressional testimony. So there's always the perjury thing. Now I have to water my herd of unicorns.

lyle

I appreciate your optimism, TC. I find it completely unwarranted with ANYTHING regarding the Clinton Crime Syndicate but it is charming.

BeenThereDoneThat

Has anybody heard this?

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/749350193095667713

lyle

Give 'em an extra helping of Skittles, henry. For me.

henry

Some CNN dork was crowing about that on Twitter. Unnamed sources as usual.

Beasts of England

Aloe-slathered Beasts would like to add that this is much worse than Patraeus leaving his working papers in the nightstand, because within thirty minutes of a Russian or Chinese diplomat receiving an email from clintonmail.com, they had their hackers firing at her server. Successfully, I'm certain.

Marlene

Chuck Todd said the same thing..."sources say."

maryrose

TC
I support your optimism and hope what you see happening does occur.

lyle

My dear mil hates Hilligula but she'd be fine with Biden she informed me at lunch today. I winced downward into my salad and said nothing.

Theo

I keep trying to come up with the most benign realistic reason for Bill's meeting with Lynch. I really cannot come up with an innocent one that passes the smell test. He is not unaware of the "optics" in a situation like this. He is not such an unrestrained gregarious fellow that he just HAD to delay his flight so that he could intrude on her plane and chat her up about his grandkids for half an hour.

The only semi plausible INNOCENT explanation for Bill's behavior is essentially what Rush has suggested -- he was just jerking our chain. He figured that whatever was going to happen was going to happen (no indictment far and away the most likely scenario) and he thought that this would be fun to get the VWRC all twittering away about it even though there was absolutely nothing to it.

I am not saying that is the explanation. But it is about the only one that makes sense other than something that is essentially obstruction of justice. And surely Bill would never engage in that, as we all know.

Jack is Back!

Reverse pshychology. Trump is pretty good at that just like all his playground taunting scripts he has brought over from his teen years in Queens. In a way, its endearing.

What do you mean yoiu can't indict an ex-President. He was indicted once as a sitting President. So was Nixon.

I still say the FBI needs to save face due to their recent history of dropping the ball. But, it plays better into Trump's hands for her to walk or get the wrist slap. If she is indicted he has to now deal with someone not as publically corrupt and crooked. New approach will be needed.

I'll change my mind when she is not indicted.

maryrose

Mess BC
Trying to set the narrative of no charges.
I am not buying it.
What she did is way worse than Petraeus and I don't care who she is.
If they can nail former Governor of Illinois Blagoevich was a contestant on the Apprentice than she is guilty as sin.

maryrose

Anyone else want to weigh in on what is going to happen to Hildebeast?

lyle

Speaking of in-laws, my sil's annual Fourth of Joo-Ly picnic in SV is tonight. To get an idea of her imperious pettiness she got quite upset with me a few years back due to my appropriation of some her stemware for the wine she was serving even though I washed, rinsed, dried and replaced precisely where I'd gotten once I was done with it. You see, all the other guests were drinking out of plastic. I announced at lunch today that I was bringing my own glass tonight. Wifey sternly advised against such a horrendous breech of etiquette. Judges?

jimmyk on iPhone

Depends whether a relationship with your sil has positive or negative value to you, Lyle. Where is SV?

maryrose

Marlene
That voice of Clinton is her fake and phony happy face kind of like the cackle.
She is scared to death that she got this close and it is going to be snatched away from her.
She got a pass on Benghazi but this is an error on her part for which she can blame no one but herself. You are a really great daughter and I hope all goes well with your mom.

MaryD

I'mwith you, lyle. Your sil sounds like a real PITA (and a fourth rate hostess, too)

DrJ

You see, all the other guests were drinking out of plastic.

Jeebus, I don't even drink ice-cube wine out of plastic.

I'd suggest bringing your own wine glass, and holding it in reserve. Ask sil if you may use a wine glass of hers. If she declines, use yours. If she accepts, keep yours hidden.

But then I have no social skills, so YMMV.

maryrose

Lyle:
I think it is ok to bring your own glass and perhaps a complimentary bottle of wine.

lyle

Of course it will be cheap plonk; ~75 guests. Ah, hell. Since I'm not driving, I'm going to open a nice crisp Raphet Chablis into one of those Riedel stemless glasses and waltz right in there. Pray for me. 😬

Beasts of England

I believe you revealed the answer when you noted that your wifey sternly advised against it. :)

maryrose

Good analysis JIB.

Jack is Back!

Shucks. I won't be able to make it because we are at the Halsey House Gala for the Southampton Historical Museum and its $25K, but mostly because we are at the Gala.

http://www.newsday.com/long-island/report-trump-to-attend-july-9-fundraiser-in-southampton-1.11997696?email=jwlillywhite%40mac.com&sub=ND_edit_politics_masterlist

If anyone wants to come Wilbur's home is at 242 Great Plains Road, Southampton. I drive by it once in a while with the dogs. I see him from time to time at The Plaza and Herrick's hardware. Good old guy with a fun sense of humor. His wife is a peach. Her name ironically is Hilary.

MaryD

Yea, lyle!

maryrose

DrJ
You have the wisdom of King Solomon
Did you finish all your proposal work?

buccaneer morgan

I was thinking those two Bangladeshi bloggers who turned to be the canaries to yesterdays events are the big stories.

Today's events remind of inspector Campbell's meeting with Thomas Shelby from pesky blinders.

Beasts of England

The divorced guy is the only one siding with the wifey? What's up with that! ;)

lyle

SV -> Sun Valley. Get this, maryrose, she gets offended if you bring a complimentary bottle! Her relations with me border on polite diffidence to p/a contempt so I don't really GAS. She thinks her sister could have married much, much better. You know...like she did, big time Corp attorney who is, actually, a pretty good guy. Oh, well, we don't see her/them all that much.

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

I'm ashamed to say I have no idea what's going to happen and I have no idea what information the FBI is in possession of. I also have no idea whether Comey has any integrity.

Lastly, if the Clinton Foundation is part of the investigation and with questions about her scheduling books and any related possible false statements or if they are still determining if she deleted non personal emails as Judicial Watch or whoever it was now has evidence of then I'm not so sure this interview represents the imminent end of the investigation.

lyle

Yeah, Beasts!! 'Sup wit dat?!?

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

If'n it were me, I'd bring my own bottle and glass and ostentatiously ask for a Sharpie to write "lyle" on both once I got there. :)

lyle

NOW we're talkin', Iggy!

Lurker Susie

Lyle,

Are you sure it's not a BYOG party? I hear all the in people are
having them this summer. This way the guests save the host
or hostess both time and money. No plastic glasses to
purchase and no glasses to wash.

jimmyk on iPhone

I thought it was clear my comment was basically siding with the wifey. But I left a bit of wiggle room.

Gentlejim

I've actually written "mine" on glassware. Haha
Of course, I'm rude, crude and socially unacceptable.

BeenThereDoneThat

What angers me most about the Clinton's is their total lack of allegiance to America. They've sold and given away state and national security secrets since the White House days. Obama and his crew are just as putrid - sovereignty and pride in our country means nothing to them. They've sold us out for power and wealth.

I can only hope and pray there are enough honorable patriots left in the FBI and DOJ to make absolute CERTAIN the facts come out, if Lynch plays the card we think she will play.

Beasts of England

I'm diplomatic like that, lyle. Obviously...

I love Ig's idea - that would be yuge!!

lyle

I hasten to add that this familial conundrum represents the very height of first world problems. Let's all say a prayer for those innocents heinously hacked to death in Bangladesh. Powerline has a post with more details on this latest episode from The Religion O' Pieces.

Janet the expert

I've actually written "mine" on glassware. Haha

My son writes "Not Yours"....usually on red solo cups.

maryrose

GentleJim
I believe the expression is crude, rude and unrefined but I don't believe that is true about you.

clarice

Marlene. I can't find that Chuck Todd statement anywhere.

lyle

If I were a real dick (no comments, please πŸ˜€), I'd bring one of my giant, honkin' Riedel Sommelier Cabernet glasses. Volume: 940 ml. Ordinary bottle volume: 750 ml. That's some simple math right there, folks...

maryrose

Janet:
That is very funny!

Gentlejim

I appreciate the vote of confidence maryrose. πŸ˜€

Beasts of England

Don't forget your tastevin, lyle!!

maryrose

Cheryl Mills shown leaving Clinton's house at 10:00am this morning.
Marlene
In excerpt of the interview with Chuck Todd Hillary laughs again.
The cackle returns.
Jennifer Griffin says she won't talk about it the. Goes on with Chuck Todd.
Griffin says reports "no indictment" premature at this point.

maryrose

Reince Priebus releases a scathing statement as does Donald Trump.

maryrose

BeenThereDoneThat
Your post is right on target.
Between these two we have had 16 years of bad government.

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

Erick Erickson has decided Christians who support Trump are playing on Judas Iscariot's team.
Yeah, those #nevertrumpers are perfectly reasonable fellas.
Judge not, lest you be judged a fat tub of [redacted].

DrJ

she gets offended if you bring a complimentary bottle!

Wow. It was/is standard in CA wine country always to bring a bottle of wine when attending a party or dinner or what not. It is the standard gift.

Jack is Back!

Anyone want to suggest the common denominator to table No.2? Clue: It ain't Methodists.

http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/global-terrorism-declined-last-year-but-not-in-the-west/?ex_cid=538twitter

lyle

It's a standard to every other dinner party I've ever hosted or attended, DrJ. I've already poured my wine into my glass and we're off. Eff it. BTW, all JOMers have a standing invite to any dinner party I host! Cheers!

MaryD

"she gets offended if you bring a complimentary bottle!"

Can't anyone here spell "Control Freak"?

BeenThereDoneThat

Erick has gone off the deep end. Who appointed him the guardian of the righteous!

DrJ

Good for him! And RIP.

Jack C. Taylor, who started a leasing company with seven cars and built it into Enterprise Rent-A-Car, died Saturday. He was 94 years old.

Mr. Taylor died in St. Louis after a brief illness, Enterprise said in a statement.

In 1957, Mr. Taylor founded Executive Leasing at a Cadillac dealership in St. Louis where he was a salesman. He rented cars to customers whose own vehicles were in the shop.

Eventually the business grew into Enterprise, which differed from competitors by allowing people to pick up and drop off cars away from airports.

Forbes magazine this year estimated Mr. Taylor’s wealth at $5.3 billion.

Mr. Taylor, who joined the U.S. Navy during World War II, renamed his company in 1969 for the USS Enterprise, the aircraft carrier on which he served.

Marlene

Clarice, when Chuck Todd interviewed her on the phone a couple of hours ago,I'm pretty sure he said to her..."sources are saying there will be no referral? or indictment?" I thought that is what I heard, but I was drinking a glass of wine. :)

Beasts of England

That's a fine piece of insanity from Erickson. It's kinda hard to adequately process something so unhinged. Dang.

Jack is Back!

I learned from my Pomerol BIL that if you are invited to a party in wine country and especially someone with a known cellar that you may want to bring a nice Olive Oil instead. Just passing it on for what its worth.

Jack is Back!

DrJ,

We sue Enterprise all the time when traveling in the US. Sixt in Europe.

Enterprise picks you up and drives you back home when you drop it off. All the staff are young college educated and well dressed. Most are ex-NCAA athletes using the job as a way to make a salary while pursuing their grad degrees or honing their athletic skills.

We've made some excellent friends with them in our part of Florida over the years. We know of 2 who are trying out for the Olympic team this year.

Janet the expert

It's weird to be speculating on what law enforcement is gonna do....when we all KNOW FOR CERTAIN she did her SoS job on an unsecured private system.
She shared classified info.
She lied about turning over all her work related emails....which we shouldn't have had to ask for because they were supposed to be archived ALREADY.

Why do we have to speculate? Arrest her already. Put her on trial under oath. Do it.

Would a Mr. Joe Nobody at the State Dept. be brought up on charges if he did what Hillary did? ....Set up an off site private system, pass around classified info, lie. You can bet he would be.

DrJ

JiB,

I assume you meant "use" and not "sue," right?

Jack is Back!

...use....

Janet @ 7:44

Exactly!

I hope to God Trump does not let this go, and he hammers her every day in the plainest terms.

Jack is Back!

BTW, another instances of the FBI dropping the ball. They are the AG's security. Even if they are local, they don't or shouldn't allow anyone to board her plane, ex-POTUS or not, without prior clearance from the AG. She says she didn't invite him so the FBI is culpable here in my opinion.

Makes you wonder how safe you really are with these people doing all our anti-terrorism and certain security detail.
