I'll go with Huma not that smart, thinks a locked door protects a computer. Meanwhile Weiner is just clever enough to use Huma's home office (password similar to Podesta's) for his youth surfing. They are all so guilty of various crimes that none can claim victim status ever.

Matt - deplore me if you must

The Daily Mail, that investigative powerhouse, is saying that resignations piling up on Comey's desk and his wife's insistence are driving him to this.

And so what would have happened to those e mails if Mrs. Comey hadn't had a heart to heart with hubby?

The idea of the NSA being involved breaks probably 30-40 criminal statutes including the charter of the NSA, unless Huma was transmitting information overseas.

We will find the truth soon enough, maybe.....

I read that Huma sent all the emails to her yahoo mail account so she could print them--apparently couldn't do it otherwise.

Of course, people like corsi are suggesting that she did that and handed out the password to confederates abroad.
In any event she shared that computer with her husband and failed to reveal its existence when under subpoena to do so.

With whom precisely? I was actually out to dinner with some friends about a year ago who vote Rep and one used to be married to a Rep pol well-known in Ga and no one had heard of huma in the group.

Apart from the crimes, I suspect for many people this is the weekend who huma is and the nature of that probable relationship has first made their radar screens.

Clarice, in the Wikileaks I have seen examples of Hillary forwarding and email to Huma "Print", which Huma reforwards to her yahoo account "Print". So that is certainly part of it.

From my FB post: Anthony Weiner - the numbskull - being so stupid as he was to post his dick all over the internet - thinking he could keep it all private. I'm telling you -when he was running for mayor of NY - and he got caught again - and it all blew up in his face - he embarrassed and humiliated his wife - I just imagine the Hildabeast told Huma to get rid of him if she wanted to keep her job. Anthony saw the writing on the wall and went through all of Huma's devices and emails and got what he could as "insurance", to make damn sure he didn't turn up as a suicide with 12 shotgun blasts in his back and ass...hahaha. But just like the pictures of him exposing himself that he was too stupid to hide - he was too stupid to hide what he took from Huma - and you know damn good and well some of it is classified information. And who else is out there that might possibly get caught up in all of this? Anyone on Hildabeast's campaign? Anyone else at the State Dept? Anyone in the White House? That's why I say - hard drives are being destroyed - files shredded - cell phones and blackberrys are going under sledge hammers and axes....hahahaha .....this will bring her down. Barry Hussein will pardon her - and she can spend the rest of her life making Bill's life a living hell.

A commenter at PowerLine suggests:
"Here's what I believe has occurred: The FBI found this information, went to the DOJ to get a search warrant, and were refused. Comey took this up with Lynch and she refused to override her deputies. Comey then said he'd have to go to Congress if she didn't, but Lynch then asserted it would be a career limiting decision for him. Comey went to Congress If Lynch won't issue a search warrant, then Congress can issue a subpoena for the information which would require it's production.

This also is related to what I think happened this summer: The DOJ stood in the way of the FBI investigation at every path and Comey knew this was never going to a grand jury or trial. The DOJ also likely used the terms "reasonable prosecutor" and "extremely careless" in discussions with Comey and that is why he used those terms in his July announcement in spite of laying out a very convincing case against Hillary."

RattlerGator

The narrative on our board here seems to have a hard time believing (accepting?) the viewpoint that DOJ severely limited the FBI's ability to do a full investigation.

However, doesn't that viewpoint illuminate the other avenue into this investigation? Our corrupted Executive Branch *could* effectively limit and block the FBI. But that federal branch couldn't do the same suffocation of state and local investigations of Carlos Danger. Investigations that could have been (and likely were) seriously aided by some outraged patriots of the federal type (NSA, Defense Intelligence, FBI, etc.) providing a word to the wise on the down low.

I'm still rolling with Comey skillfully and prudentially navigating his way through this mess with (ultimately) a healthy and persuasive dose of ("You have no other choice") rank-and-file opinions prodding him forward beyond his fear of the Obama & Clinton machines.

The upshot: federalism! Our checks and balances aren't merely between branches of government. Sovereign states are also a check and balance feature of our system. Liberals are hyped about the musical "Hamilton" (which, I think, is a story that ultimately works to *our* advantage) but this case may be one hell of a teaching tool for our younger people.

This case has the potential to be the capstone, the real turning point, in the ongoing effort to beat back the craziness of political correctness and the lamentable fact that our young people have more concern for short-term feelings than they do longterm reality.

A prediction: the death knell for Hillary's political career occurred this summer when the chant "Lock Her Up!" was heard, loud and clear, at *both* national conventions. That phrase is going down in history and will likely define this election cycle.

North Carolina absentee ballots have hit over 1.7 million, with nearly 1.6 million accepted as early votes for the November 8 general election. All Absentee Ballots: The 1.7 million ballots, which accounts for all absentee ballots (mail-in and in-person) by sent date, represents a 6.8 percent increase over the same-day cumulative total from 2012's general election absentee voting period (1.59 million). Art, since Progs all think their goals are so pure that even an imperfect crook can advance their objectives, since LIV can indeed be so narrow as to place "what's in it for me" above all else, since a good chunk of the population will indeed vote on the shallowest of reasons, and since members of all those groups are absolutely willing to cheat and steal to win, then I say there is no smoking gun email that is hot enough to take them below that 40% rock.

daddy in Elvisland

Stuck watching CNN on the Hotel Television:

Amazing. Jack Tapper asking some real questions of John Podesta on CNN this morning. He is not getting any sufficient answers of course, but at least he is asking the questions. It is almost to the point of badgering Podesta. Podesta is coming off a bit as a tongue tied weasel, trying to spin out his talking points of Hillary having apologized and learned from her stupid decision to set up a private server. Tapper actually asks Podesta, "You guys always say "Hillary has learned from this mistake. What has she learned sir?" Podesta can only stammer that "She has learned that she wouldn't do it again if she had to do it all over again", which means nothing at all, and then tries to say that Trump is too dangerous to become President, but it doesn't work because he's sitting there in the hot seat trying to explain the unexplainable stupidity and corrupt decisions of Hillary.

Tapper doesn't seem to buy that and then continues poking, by actually reading to Podesta excerpts from Wikileaks of Podesta replying to Mook and Neera Tanden in E-Mails talking about how stupid Hillary was to set up this private server in the first place and that she did it in order to cover stuff up. Podesta putting in almost as many uhhh's and errr's as Ash Carter. Looking very bad. Keeps trying to shift blame to trump but he and Hillary are the ones coming off bad here.

Tapper continues then asking why did Huma lie to the FBI and not turn over all her devices and Podesta plays ignorant, and goes after Comey for being partisan, at which point Tapper continues going after Huma by asking Podesta where did this extra device come from, why did she lie about it and not turn it over to the FBI, and what was Comey and the FBI supposed to do when they found this extra device of hers with all these new E-Mails on them that she never turned over? Podesta uhh's and err's and again deflects by attacking Comey for reneging on having earlier cleared Hillary and pleading ignorance, so Tapper actually asks the follow up of Podesta: "Have you personally called Huma and asked her about this device and what's going on", some question like that, and Podesta is left to mumble stupidly that no he has not, but Trump is dangerous. Even more amazing Tapper then asks if is was stupid of Bill Clinton to secretly meet with Loretta Lynch on the tarmac in Vegas a week before Comey's July exoneration?

Now on Kellyanne Conway. Tapper trying to ask her tough questions but she is doing fine. His question, "Trump said Comey was corrupt 2 weeks ago. Now he's saying something different. Is he only corrupt when he's not doing what Trump wants?" She has no problem answering that straightforwardly and effectively. Tapper returns to the subject a second time and she is so on top of the facts she has no rebutting it a second time by pounding Team Clinton's lies and Hillary's unfitness for office due to those lies.

Now Tapper shows video of a supposed Trump supporter from some rally yesterday dancing in front of the cameras saying "JewSA, JewSA, not USA", saying Trump supporters are "deplorable" racists and Anti-Semites. Kelly Anne rebuts that as hogwash saying that is a smear of Trump supporters and that this guy whoever he is is no reflection of real Trump supporters, and blaming the media for falsely smearing Trump supporters as racists and anti-semites. Jack Tapper rally going slimy here. What a liar. The guy in the video was probably sent there by Foval and Creamer---he looked like Michael Moore. Tapper says Trump never disavowed these racist supporters and Kelly Anne says yes he has and Tapper says no he hasn't, only Pence has, and Kelly Anne says again "Yes he has disavowed any such supporters and criticized Tapper for harping on this," then Kelly continues by attacking Tapper for wasting time asking her these sordid irrelevant questions and never even mentioning Huma and her devices and that she lied to the FBI and did not turn them over to the FBI, and Tapper says he already asked those questions of Podesta

Tapper then tries to hit Kelly Ann by saying Trump said something bad about ObamaCare and Kelly Ann pushes aside whatever stupid talking point Jake was trying to push and she effectively tells us how crappy ObamaCare has been and the cost overruns and precious skyrocketing and she says Obama lied about the cost of ObamaCare 23 times in public, then she turns to attacking Hillary's ObamaCare positions, then the Tapper tries again she talks about Trump's positive HealthCare solutions. Kelly Anne doing fine here. She is unflustered and unflappable and upbeat and unapologetic and on message.

Overall takeaway is that Tapper badgers Kelly Ann more, but does so with unfair manufactured questions, other than than the legitimate questions he went after Podesta with. Still it was valuable. Definite advantage Kelly Anne. She came off tough and upbeat. Podesta came off awful in my opinion.

Just some unfounded thoughts about Weiner when trying to figure out his motives.

We all know and we all say that Weiner is "a sex pervert." We know that. And in our media age he's probably the most public sex pervert in history. But usually I think "sex pervert" is just a term we use without really thinking about what it really means on a personality level.

I think Weiner is a sex pervert to a degree we can probably not really fathom, so much so that sex sex sex was/is the dominant passion in his life and brain 24/7. Even after being caught who knows how many times, he still goes back into reckless internet E-Mail relations with anyone stupid enough to start up a sex perversion conversation with him. I think he is totally consumed by it and has been his whole life.

That said, I think he has to be the kind of guy who has a passion to learn all the sordid details of what Bill Clinton and other similar sexual predator types were also doing. I think he had to have spent his spare time digging into the e-mails finding dirt about everyone else's sexual proclivities because thats the sort of bizarre stuff he got his jollies off about, and also when he finds out the particulars of what all these other guys like Bill Clinton are doing I think in a way it allows him psychologically to think he isn't any more odd or aberrant than those guys, he just got caught. I bet he delighted in learning all that stuff about the pedogate airline flights to that Caribbean Island place, and that if he could get his hands on anything confirming what all these other guys were doing sexual wise, he treasured and hoarded it, especially after having been caught and publicly humiliated himself. I see Weiner as being as passionate about tracking it down as Gollum in the Hobbit was passionate about finding the Ring.

That's my mental image of Weiner consumed in his insane passionate quest, after being publicly outed and having to deal with the mass humiliation of falling from the position he had prior to being outed, to being what he has become.

I think that is part of his very, very messed up psychological make-up, so tho' I don't know what he has in his files, it definitely would not surprise me one bit if he had tons of sick stuff, and I think he has an internal urge in a way to excuse himself by publicly finding out the sexual deviancies of pompous others, thereby bringing them down by showing that they are at his selfsame sick level. So that said I think he's happy to comply with the FBI to get all this stuff out there. Why not? He has nothing to lose and plenty, in his mind, to gain. I think he is amazingly dangerous for Team Hillary because instead of wanting to keep his mouth shut, he wants to talk. It makes sense to me, hearing him say to the FBI about his computer, "Have at it."

Do I need to do it over in Jungian terms, or are these Freudian terms enough for you guys:)

Common Man, right, if there was nothing of merit in those emails, the letter to Congress could have said that: 'all emails were reviewed, nothing pertinent to any investigation was found '. It would have been a minor news story and soon forgotten.

You know I love you, Clarice, and I know you're clear on what I'm about to reiterate. But, for the sake of clarity for the casual JustOneMinute lurker (someone I used to be):

I'm not here defending or vouching for Comey's prior career. I've certainly read about some of his more disappointing actions. I'm simply zeroed in on this particular episode.

Did he or did he not defy DOJ and publicly prosecute Hillary last summer? He very clearly did.

Did he or did he not defy DOJ and send the letter reopening the investigation of Hillary after significant pressure to not do so? He very clearly did.

Did his actions the other day run counter to a process only formalized during the Obama Administration and obviously designed / implemented to prevent just such an action? They very clearly did.

Well.

I have no problems whatsoever giving a man some dap under such circumstances. And, if these actions help put a nail in the coffin of a woman who never should have been a serious candidate for the Office of President I'm willing to forgive all manner of prior bad acts.

Don Surber (and others) have said this election has been all about Trump making voters comfortable enough to give themselves permission to vote for him as President. Not for me. This election has always been about putting the nail in the coffin of the Clintonistas.

I continue to believe Wikileaks has them and threat of release is what triggered the reopening of the investigation.

Saw something today that Comey was told about the laptop four weeks ago and was trying to run out the clock until last week. Bernstein confirmed leak threats on Friday. Now, that could be threats of FBI internal leaking, but why not both?

I think whatever wikileaks has is different from Weiner's emails simply because Assange said it will (or maybe should) land her in jail.

I can't wait.
