MAGA! First!

Matt - deplore me if you must

Trump is on Hannity and is very eloquent.

henry

Thanks TM, the laugh was just what I needed.

Jack is Back!

Well, TM, I hope your hip feels better than your political desires.

Is there anyone in the JoM tribe who has not yet voted ??

PDinDetroit

Voted!

Voter 765, Precinct 19, City of Farmington Hills, County of Oakland, State of Michigan, United States of America. I had no waiting in line at 2:48 PM.

Interesting Note: While in the ballot station, a poll worker lady said "Sir, You have a gun, you cannot have a gun in a school." I presented her with Michigan State Police Legal Update 86. She called the City Clerk who promptly told her that as long as I have a Concealed Pistol License and am carrying openly, then I am good to go. Since she called me "Sir" and was nice enough to hear my explanation of the law after voting, I have decided not to report her to the legal authories.

Catsmeat

I think we all be very elated soon! MAGA--from Nebraska, admittedly no bellwether.

Jack is Back!

I am going to watch Fox, The Five, just to see how verklempt Dana and her groin splitter, Greg are dealing with the early news.

Deplorable Honoria

I have done the deed.

Apparently, there are 2x voters expected compared to primary in SF.

We have a slew of cretinous state and city propositions. 5-page double page ballot! How do they come up with this stuff?

derwill, yet another adorable, irredeemable deplorable

I didn't see it myself, because I fear that if I watch CNN my face would melt off--but apparently CNN was going to report the exit polls, but now they're saying they have to hold off for awhile so that they can "crunch the numbers." Something tells me they wouldn't be holding off and crunching numbers if they were good for Hillary.

Enlightened

I mailed in my vote for Trump.

henry

TLG put up FL exit polls on the prior thread (from CNN)

Dorothy Jane

Drudge has this headline up right now:
5 PM EXITS: 'POLITICAL MAP COULD BE RESHAPED'

What does that MEAN? It's driving me crazy. Is it good or bad?

henry

Oops, TLG retracted. :)

henry

Reshaped has to be good. Red states won't be turning blue. But a Reagan level wipeout with say Hispanics and AAs splitting their vote is a big reshaping.

Deplorable Honoria

In the middle of this massive evil madness that is overtaking the world of late, I suddenly feel... strange?
A shift in the Force?
We will know soon enough.

Matt - deplore me if you must

I think Trump has it. The UK press are reporting a Hillary lead by 3 points.

PDinDetroit

Way to go, standing up for your rights!

Deplorable Honoria

Matt, you mean we have already lost? That was fast.

Dorothy Jane

Matt - are you saying that because of Brexit? Let's pray for a Brexit like result. Yippee!

Sue

Latino voters -- early exit:

Clinton 65%
Trump 27%

2012:
Obama 71%
Romney 27%

I have no idea where this is. They don't say.

Seems obvious to me that the MFM will continue to carry the water for hrc up until the very end. Thus, bogus numbers, bogus exit polls, etc should not only be unsurprising, but should be expected.

Keep the faith.

I just know that b*tch is going to pull the ball away at the last moment!

Twitter chatter is saying it's close in FL, but that's just based on the GOP/Dem party affiliation breakdown. They say it depends now on how the Indies break when the votes are actually counted. Maybe why they're pushing the vote in the Panhandle--to pump up the sure GOP votes in case the Indies don't break Trump's way.

henry

Derwill, Patton would not ease off until it was done. Neither will Trump. The panhandle has voting is an hour later, make sure they all vote.

Captain Hate

The Mavs suck, thanks to Mark Cuban.

I've wanted to talk about this. As you probably remember, I thought the Mavs championship was a great story since they were underdogs in every series after the first round. I knew there would be some falloff subsequently because they were an old team but figured Cuban could rebuild them quickly and still has an excellent head coach.

But they keep getting worse every season. Is Cuban not interested in running the team any more compared to being a not very smart political pest? I used to like him a lot but not any more.

hrtshpdbox

I never know how I'll react to these big political events, not until it's upon me. This year, apparently, I'm compelled to turn on C-Span, kill the sound, and drink some Two Hearted Ales while cooking a lasagna, doing laundry, and pondering the universe. So I'll be checking out now until tomorrow or at least until much later tonight; fingers crossed, JOM'ers.

Theo

Hi People (and Beasts)! Long time no post.

I know that TK hates anything involved with exit polls, but Politico is reporting that Rodham is leading among voters under 30 by 51% to 34%.

This is potentially significant if true.

First, it means that 15% of yutes are voting third or fourth or fifth party.

Second, Obama won this demographic 60-37. If Rodham has only a 17 point edge (as opposed to Obama's 23 point lead) among a group that in 2012 made up 19% of the voters, this puts her more than a point behind Obama overall relative to the Republican. This alone of course would not cause her to lose, but it could be a factor.

Still too soon to say.....

Theo

Ig --

No, I do not know their percentage this time, which of course would be necessary to "complete the equation." I may not have said this clearly enough, but the one point plus relative loss is based upon an assumption that the yutes remain at 19 percent. But assuming that the exit poll is right and 15% of those under 30 are not voting for either major candidate, there cannot be a lot of enthusiasm among the young and the share of the vote may go down. This would also not be good for Rodham.

Matt - deplore me if you must

I know what the captain of that plane said "get that Pinc*e snake off of mi pinc*e plane!"

henry

Just got my "did you vote yet" call from the GOP. So the ground game from the recalls is still operating here.

Matt - deplore me if you must

One thing that has me concerned about rigging is the plethora of marijuana initiatives on the ballot. That will get the stoner vote out big time. And if there is one class that we don't need voting it is the stoners.

Jack is Back!

Don't watch Fox News with Baier and Kelly. They have that loser Rove on with all the ex-Bushies. FBN has Lou Dobbs and the real people on.

Another reason to vote for Trump: Kick Fox News in the groin.

But then Carl Cameron is on Lou Dobbs. Sigh.

KY and IN just called for Trump. VT called for the Beast.

Nothing unexpected there, except that apparently Trump is over-performing the pre-election polls in those states he won, so the thinking is maybe cross-over Dems?

Porchlight

When will all FL polls be closed?

Captain Hate

Me neither, Tarhole; this was the most willing vote I cast since 1984. I voted for Portman, just because Twitch was too terrible of a choice to get within sniffing distance of the Senate. But now Rob has a choice to make: does he jump on the MAGA express or go back to making an ass out of himself on MessNBC. Choose wisely, Rob.

Deplorable Honoria

The weird thing is they did not announce massive advantage in exit polling to Hillary in the early afternoon. This happened both in 2004 and 2012 elections (I do not recall 2008). Good news? Bad news? Are they are getting suddenly careful? No idea.

JM Hanes

Poll Closings by State

All but panhandle closed at 7 EST, panhandle closes at 8 EST, I believe.

Beasts of England

That was very clever, Theo!!

As for George W and Laura Bush and their latest disheartening message sent out to Republican supporters:

He had a million opportunities during his presidency to stand up and speak out when he and his policies and his supporters were being hammered 24/7 by the Left, yet he took a pass and kept mum and left us voiceless and disheartened and blowing in the wind.

Today, a day when he had every opportunity to shut the hell up and let the people decide, he now decides to send out a message to once again dishearten supporters across this country who stood up for him when he needed standing up for. He's an ungrateful POS.

Team Hillary, you're welcome to G.W, and Laura Bush. I'm done with 'em. And take Kasich and Lindsay Graham with him.

RattlerGator

Damn, Sue. Slow your roll. The exit people are incentivized, just like the pollsters, to give us bad news.

7:07 PM — First Florida county reports results: Citrus County, which makes up 0.8% of the state’s population. Donald Trump has won that county by over 60%.

Posted by: clarice b. for Brainiac | November 08, 2016 at 07:11 PM

Our first hard comparison in Florida; Romney won by 22%

Citrus County, 2012:

M. Romney, 60.4% 44,657
B. Obama 38.5% 28,453

Citrus County 2016 with 9 of 31 precincts reporting

Trump 66.63% 39,888
Hillary 30.51% 18,263

Hmmmmmm . . . hints of a monster vote for Trump. A 14% plus performance over Romney so far.

And those aren't exit poll numbers, Sue, those are REAL numbers.

Porchlight

Hi Theo!

daddy

So glad you posted that wonderful story, Joan! Wonderful and horrifying, too.

It really is amazing how little the men who came back ever talked about their experiences, isn't it? Although, I suppose it must have been hard to know how to talk about it -- the bravery and fear and companions, and eventually victory, wrapped in so much death.

JMH,

Prager makes a point about that generation every once in a while that is about the only criticism I ever hear about them, and it is that unfortunately they did not pass on to their kids the knowledge or values or whatever you call it that they themselves were imbued with that allowed them to do all those amazing things to preserve freedom. In other words, they did not do a great job of raising the next generation of Americans. If true, I wonder how much of that understandable fault lies in the fact of what these folks went through---the triple calamities of the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and WW2?

Dennis Prager BTW states it better than that, so that it doesn't come across like a cheap shot like the way I wrote it probably sounds, but like most of you my Pop wouldn't say hardly a word about any of WW2 except that he was glad when it was over. Perhaps they already had too much on their plate to deal with?
