When's Curb Dive's speech? Are they installing a new chip or is this cuddle time with dear sweet Huma?

Beasts of England

Her speech is scheduled for 10:30 EST.

Old Lurker

So what game is she planning for us?

Recounts while discovering boxes of votes?

Elector Flipping?

What hell does she intend to inflict on this country?

henry

did they bother to truck in a crowd for this speech?

common man

Dammit I was hoping a bunch of looney libs would be dumping into the market this AM so I could pick their bones clean.

BR

Pull her in there by the hair and let's get this over with.

Buckeye

Regular guy came through last night!

Wonder how all those Wall St firms are feeling about their $375K investments in Curb Dive, not to mention all the time they spent pretending to care what she had to say.

Bill is presumably consoling himself with the Energizer.

BR

Don't let the slippery fish that is the MFM get away with sounding oh so reasonable now. Remember the scene in Miller's Crossing where the John Turturro character pleads on his knees for his life out in the woods where the Gabriel Byrne character is supposed to execute him. Byrne relents, Turturro runs off into the woods, only to return days later pointing a gun at Byrne when he gets home.

cindyk

Drove 15 hours from MT to Denver....arrived around 10pm...just in time to tune in to MSNBC to watch heads explode😃❗️

BR

Isn't it delicious, JimmyK, now the Clintons have no more influence peddling power, nothing to sell, no govt favors to bestow to anyone. All donors to the Clinton Fdn should start suits for refunds for undelivered services.

Stolen quote

"If you are upset about the election results and are referring to your neighbors and fellow Americans are misogynist, xenophobic racists because they didn't vote for the wife of the misogynistic, serial rapist YOU ARE THE REASON Trump was elected. Take responsibility for your divisiveness and your hate-filled screes that drove Americans to shun the politically correct nightmare you embrace. You elected Trump, you pushed voters towards Trump. You are responsible for Trumps victory."

Great site which tracts control of state legislatures. Looks like Maine, NY, Minn and AZ still sorting out the results but Iowa, KY and Del and Conn all move control of one or more state houses to the Republicans. On the opposite side NV, NM and Wash took step toward Democrats. Ultimately they will have a full seat count for each party.

Top 10 congressional races outcomes Very glad to see Evan Bayh lose his Senate bid in IN. Very sad to see Harry Reid's seat go to another Dem. Especially as it was supposed to be the Rs' likeliest chance of a pickup in the country until the panicked R nominee went full-voiced NeverTrump after "the tape" release & saw his comfortable lead disappear.

It's morning in America again! Hopefully our long national nightmare is over.

Tough times still ahead as there will be a lot of opposition. We are still a fragmented and polarized polity, with many powerful enemies of freedom and their useful idiots still out there.

But for the first time in years, I have hope .... no matter how slim it is. I truly believe this was the last opportunity we had to restore the country through a peaceful election.

I have never been more glad to be wrong in my predictions. And I thank all of you here who have remained optimistic and who have tried to keep the pessimists like me from gathering on the ledge. LOL

Oh God, I'm so sick of hearing these cliches - glass ceiling. Why don't these Lilliputians just go home and eat their 'veggies'.

henry

so is curb dive screeching yet?

So Stu Varney is telling us the demographics of the exit poll. Hispanics went from 10% of electorate in 2012 all the way up to 11%.

So I can now confirm my strong suspicion that I had when I heard it, and my BS meter pegged. They lied to us, again.

Maybe in NV. Nowhere else is it even noticable.

In fact I think Trump did better than Romney, with Hispanics. Let that soak in.

clarice b. for Brainiac

Alex Bensky I'm a bit confused, Clarice. The left has been calling all this time for an uprising by the working class, and we've just had it. Yet they don't seem happy.

Of course, the left had also been calling for a mass, grass-roots political movement aimed at changing things, and when the Tea Party came along they didn't seem happy with that, either.

Speaking of the Tea Parties, Clarice...at OWS and I think one or two other Occupy Whatever sites, they had to have a "rape-free zone" and a "safe tent," and yet I don't recall anyone on the left speaking up much about this. If any Tea Party had needed such zones, we'd still be hearing about it.

Of course: 1. No one really thinks the Tea Parties would have needed such zones; and 2. If there had been any need, Tea Partiers would have...ah...dealt with the miscreants.

That glass ceiling is going to shine a light on her corruption.

Ryan expected a Trump loss and was positioning himself as leader after Trump's loss. He made a pretty good bet, and lost it.

I don't see him remaining speaker. He needs to take up leadership of his faction of the GOP, and not try to run the big tent GOP in the House. Too many people want his head served up on a platter for him to be effective.

I don't think it was a good bet. Ryan was in no jeopardy of losing his seat and in the event of a Trump loss he'd have been the highest elected official of the GOP. Wouldn't it have been easier to "heal the rifts" if he had been much more gracious? Or maybe start acting like an adult now.

He's just another standard issue big government liberal with classy powerpoints for some unworkable 34 point scheme.

and another point about Ryan is how good is he really at politics. Trump won his state (Obama won it by what 10 points in 08 and 12)-the locus of the nevertrumpers-and he didn't happen to catch that? Couldn't have maybe made a friendly call to Pribus to get a lay of the land?

From clarice's link a list of media pollsters who knew the truth but intentionally lied:

Fox News, pollster Daron Shaw, Shaw Research and associates and the Wall Street Journal. Rupert Murdoch.
NBC News, pollster Mark Murray, Hart Research and Associates.
Monmouth University, pollster Patrick Murray.
CBS News and New York Times writ large.
ABC News and The Washington Post.
CNN News Network and ORC Polling.
Rasmussen and Reuters Polling Operations.

I really do hope he resigns as Speaker and goes back to being the backbencher he was cut out to be.

One thing that will hopefully be noted is that Trump's campaign was simply brilliant. He spent far less money than Clinton. He went into her back yard and picked her apples right off the tree.

He knew intuitively that many of us are deeply dissatisfied with the false narratives the elites have foisted on us. He connected with people of faith in an incredible manner I would love to see the numbers from where he campaigned in AA communities.

The fissures in the Left's edifice have turned to large cracks. Sotomayor and the fireplug must be getting their baseball bats ready. Breyer is having an asthma attack and Ginsburg is going to be working her hardest to stay upright and breathing for another 4 years.

lyle

Ryan's political future is dimming daily. Couldn't happen to a better guy.

Reagan as speaker? Did I just enter a fault in the time/space continuum?

Captain Hate

Appalled, ever since I heard about how smart Paul Ryan was he started doing one dumb thing after another. Maybe he needs some cush job in the private sector to get his head screwed on straight. Even Eric Cantor saw the light and was supporting Trump according to a link a week or so back.

My post in an earlier thread semi-defending Nate Silver (as the one-eyed man in the kingdom of the blind) was based on this story:

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/11/is-nate-silver-538-right-230734

It's HuffPost that has egg on its face. Aside from their wishcasting, they don't seem to get that the states aren't like coin tosses, so that (had the polls been accurate) for Trump to win would be like tossing 10 'heads' in a row. First, there was a lot more uncertainty about the polls, which has to shift the overall probability toward 50-50. Second, the results were going to be correlated. If there was a wave toward Trump, it would take a bunch of states at once. Silver I think understood at least the first part.

James D

One thing that will hopefully be noted is that Trump's campaign was simply brilliant. He spent far less money than Clinton.

I wonder if any of the consultants, in either party, will learn anything from what Trump did, and how he did it?

I said this way back int he fall, and it's been true throughout the whole campaign:

Trump did a masterful job of exploiting his strengths, and minimizing his weaknesses. He did both of those things far better than any of his GOP rivals, and far better than Hillary and the DNC.

BR

GUS at 10:57 - let them think there's no extradition treaty with Little St. James Island which is part of U.S. Virgin Islands :)

Sue

Wasn't there something in the Wikileaks where Clinton's team wanted to run against Trump?

henry

I don't know why Ryan is speaking, just that he planned to speak at 10:15 (central time), but will wait for Hilligula.

Beasts of England

Five dollars per vote was Trump's expenditure. Thrifty!! :)
