Countdown begins the top five Obama blunders aka stupid and/or traitorous acts. From D Horowitz
"Barack Obama's unconstitutional "executive amnesty" for millions of illegal aliens is #5 on the Freedom Center's list of Obama's Worst Blunders.

Fiscally, amnesty is devastating – not to mention unfair to hard-working Americans and legal immigrants.

But from a security standpoint, it's a nightmare.

Look no further than the crime-riddled sanctuary cities across our country."

Unless I am misremembering events of the last week, NFL playoff favorites are 6-0 so far this year. That said, the two games today are likely to be two of the closer ones.

That entire NatGuard fiasco stinks.

What is amazing is that the perps approached it as if there aren't mission contingency plans in case El Jefe gets taken out of the equation.

The visible security at this Inaug is one thing. The NatGuard is visible security. And it's perhaps the lowest common denominator in that security force.

I have to believe that Mr. Trump's inner circle has organized the most lethal uber-security team money can buy, while vetting the compromised Secret Service up to the last minute. Uber-security will not be a visible element in those crowds.

Thanks KK. The freeper link has the first couple of parargraphs. The full article has lots more. I really REALLY encourage reading it. Item after item of "these eight devices were physically destroyed" and "so and so refused to answer questions" draw a clear picture. Plus it's a resource to bring others up to speed.

Tx, Jim.

Reminds me of what Baby K told me last nite after getting something off his chest.

Seems he and his crew went to the Indian casino the night before to honor the baccarat god.

Was having a good night until he didn't. Ended up losing his $200 bank roll. "Just wanted to let you guys know what happened." (He'd shared his previous elation over taking a $50 bankroll to $200 on video poker some months back.)

After Mrs K ducked into a sale there at the Burqha Mall in Minneapolis, Baby K says to his old man: "You're the man, Dad. I can tell you anything no matter how bad I think it is."

If that young man knew the half of what his old man did in his youth.... I live in a glass mansion. :)

Good Grief of the day!

This morning I read an article about painting fence posts purple. Apparently it is an understood property line marker in Texas. In the article I find :

Why do states do this? Well because of the unpredictable weather patterns, especially considering the disastrous effect climate change is having on America’s southern states, “No Trespassing” signs can easily be blown away in a wind storm. Landowners need another way to mark the borders of their land.

Can you believe it? They must try to seep their crazy, unsubstantiated drivel into everything.

Chafetz is owning Trump without the latter's awareness. He's framing himself as a supporter, but his ridiculous comments about 'fishing ' before a need for hearings is fishy.

He wants Trump to take the oath before he's resolved the conflicts.

Many Republicans can live with 4 years of Pence.

Excellent column, Clarice.

I especially liked the excerpt of how ridiculous it would be to believe that Trump went over there like Hiram Slick from Punkin Crick without any thought of cameras or spies.

Even lowly me and my compatriots have assumed that when staying at the various Top Hotels for Westerners in Beijing, that pretty much everything we did was in some fashion being watched or recorded---and especially so back in the late 90's when layovers in that Capitol City were just beginning to occur regularly. Even in the early days at "The Dragon Hotel" complex in Guangzhou, we were provided individual female attendants, whether we wanted them or not, so that when we left our hotel rooms to walk anywhere or do anything, she would magically appear within 30 seconds to ask if I needed anything or if she could escort me to some location in the complex. You couldn't shake her unless you went jogging or left the complex by cab. That was very irritating, so we pushed to get relocated from The Dragon, and now we assume we are being monitored in some fashion at the downtown Garden or Marriott Hotel, tho' just much less obtrusively. The idea that Trump did this is an unbelievable crock.

Bookmark my comments on this for future reference. Of course you won't credit me as you have a monopoly on honesty/integrity.

Forwarding from a friend:

Patrick Watson, a voracious and omnivorous reader of a wide variety of media (I simply can’t keep up), noticed the following coincidences. Kissinger shows up to meet with Trump, on the same day that Japanese Prime Minister Abe is also in Trump Tower. Two weeks later, at the very moment when Trump is calling the Taiwanese president (upsetting the apple cart in the press), a 93-year-old Kissinger decides to visit China on the same day and happens to be meeting with Chinese Prime Minister Xi Jinping. I don’t know that that has been picked up in the press. Neither has the fact that a short time later Mr. Kissinger comes back to Trump Tower, and now State Department Secretary nominee Rex Tillerson is there on the same day. Other than the coincidences of timing, there is nothing that we know about these interesting events.

Okay, I have seen this New York Life ad now about a hundred times and muted it every time. What is the deal with this transgender whatever critter in the stupid hat and yellow shirt?

It is my opinion that ad agencies are now full of lefties who get great glee from fleecing stupid corporations while promoting a leftist view of the world.

Once in a while they overstep and an apology is issued, but mostly its a creeping left tendency with lots of social justice stuff.

David Axelrod ran an ad agency. That pretty much says it all.

"These 3,394 retailers redeemed about $2.6 billion in SNAP benefits,” the inspector general said. The 193 businesses that reported child owners redeemed $41 million in food stamps."

That quote DebinNC posted on the previous thread about fraud uncovered in our Foodstamp program reminds me of this quote from the ArchBishop of Pompeii in Italy, who has had the balls to call out the idiocy of Europe and of his own Church: Top Bishop: Europe Will Soon Be Muslim Because of Our Stupidity

Speaking to Italian Catholic journal La Fede Quotidiana, the archbishop said: “In 10 years we will all be Muslims because of our stupidity. Italy and Europe live in a pagan and atheist way, they make laws that go against God and they have traditions that are proper of paganism...

...“I am a protester. If I were not a priest, I’d be out there demonstrating in the squares. What is the point of so many migrants that instead of thanking for the food we give them, they just throw it, spend hours with their cell phones and even organise riots?”

He even criticised the Catholic Church for giving money to migrants.

“Giving money to migrants wandering around town is not only wrong, but morally harmful because we encourage their behaviour and they get used to that, not mentioning the fact that we already feed them.

“I think sometimes this creates a beggars’ network. I remember that my father went to work very hard as a migrant in Australia so I could go to seminary. So he has experienced in his own skin the discomfort of poverty and the noble virtue of gratitude.”

When I went to mass in London during the Jubilee (and a once in a lifetime experience because they sang God Save the Queen" at the end) I noticed that most of the attendees were elderly or immigrants like Poles and Filipinos.

Cool Britain (a Tony Blair creation) has no time for tradition or Christianity.

When I was in Rome there was a mass on every streetcorner, it seems, but thee attendees seemed to be mostly tourists and again, elderly women.

Europe has reverted back to the time of Druids and Oden-worship, or they just ignore the entire thing. It's very sad.

It doesn't help that the Pope is so wishy-washy.

MM, I suspect George Washington would agree with you. From his Farewell Address:

In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labour to subvert these great Pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and citizens...."

Go on a limb for a change. You don't always need a belt with suspenders.

Why can't you overcome your own reaoning?

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Thanks, Old Lurker.

Once, years ago, when I was newly married, my best friend and her husband came to dinner. Lots of talk about different things, but one thing stood out in my mind about how much he disliked Christianity.

About 15 minutes later he started explaining to me in detail how he was convinced that numerology was a real way to understand life. Seriously. He saw no contradiction in that.

He was a psychologist, and dumped her for another woman when their son was small. When he remarried, he had a Buddhist wedding.

What I learned from this is a real-life experience that when one removes God, something else will fill the heart instead.

That is what has happened to Europe. The smart set decided that Catholicism (or Lutheranism in the North) was boring and had too many restrictions for modern people.

So then they filled that empty place with environmentalism, materialism, or various weird cult groups. The ones that literally believe in nothing will be easy marks for the Muslims. They will convert just to avoid trouble, since they don't believe in anything.

I am afraid the priest is right.

Heh. I certainly don't expect old grudges like those of Maguire and entourage to vaporize. Revenge is large in the lizard brain.

House Catholics Are Trending Republican
"– there are now 69 Catholic Republicans and 68 Catholic Democrats in the House of Representatives – the new balance is a departure from the previous three Congresses (2009-2014). Indeed, just six years ago, there were more than two and a half times as many Catholic Democrats (98) as Catholic Republicans (37) in the House."
