CNN puts Bannon in Crosshairs

#CultureOfViolence

lyle

My bad, RG. I only get him confused with the myriad other smug, self-important, sneering, hyper-lib, jock-sniffers on all the various sports shows on TV and radio...

Another Bob

The problem with the Hayes piece lyle linked is Hayes' standard of proof for Trump is higher than his standard of proof for the Obama people.

Net:I thought it was a waste of bandwidth.

maryrose

Porch light:
Sometimes if you really want something it turns off the person considering hiring you. she is primarily out for herself.
Never let them see you sweat.
Hillary's real problem has been her naked ambition and the grasping for power.

That's a great point. At this time, I'd say no.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

By the way, one of my sisters paid for the DNA stuff. She got the results back this weekend. My family is exclusively Northern European, 40% British Isles and 60% Scandinavian. This makes sense when both sides immigrated. The Scottish contingent came after the Clearances, headed to North Carolina, and then moved over the Smokies and settled in Indiana when it was first settled. The other side were Ellis Island Danes who came over in the 1870's and came straight to not-very-ethnic-at-that-time Indiana.

No American Indian blood due to time period, no Hispanic blood because we settled in the Midwest, no African genes for same reason.

However, and this is hilarious as I didn't know they had a marker, but apparently we have a high per cent of NEANDERTHAL DNA!!!

This may explain why my entire family is short and very loud. Also, we have a lot of redheads, although I am not one. My teacher sister (not the one who ordered the test) says she has always been of the thinking tat Neanderthals interbred with Cro-Magnon, because Neanderthals were adapted to cold weather and probably had sirvival skills which southern men did not.

So, there you go.

Jack is Back!

lyle,

And my little buddie Pablo Torre. Talk about a smarmy, know-it-all Ivy Leaguer who has decided to take the Lupica route to King of the Banal.

Actually, they could probably do with getting rid half of their on-air personalities. Why does it take 4 people to stand around giving sports reports when all the Networks have one anchor for real or fake news?

sbw

Am I a bad person to wish that Steve Bannon should moon the CNN videocam trained on the Oval Office windows?

My only question is whether it should be Bannon or Trump himself. . . . No, that would not be presidential.

[And don’t even suggest it should be Ivanka.]

lyle

Please. Is it too much to ask that going forward the JOM stylebook strongly suggests not putting the words "Hillary" and "naked" in the same sentence? ;)

Another Bob

And Weakly Standard is calling for a select committee led by two worthies, one Rep, one Dem.

Yeah, that'll solve it all. Steadman and some #nevertrumper will get right to the bottom of this.

lyle

[And don’t even suggest it should be Ivanka.]

Spoilsport!

henry

sbw, they can bring in Christie for that move.

RG

Enjoyed your post about the 80 something year old white guy you might be related to.

My nephew had his DNA analyzed. He found he was ~ 4% native American Indian, and ~2% African. Rest was a mix of northern and southern European. He has red hair and blue eyes, looks like a Viking.

The Indian was expected as I have posted about my 20 year old Jamestown ancestor who found everything in the New World he was looking for in 1627, except for any available European women. But he did find a Indian gal. Appears the marriage was successful. His grandson married an Indian and became the first of a long line of Chiefs of the Cherokee Nation.

Haven't had my DNA analyzed yet, but plan to.

Was the African from my BIL, who is second generation American of Sicilian descent, or is it from my family?

Curious minds want to know:)

Democratic senator says they could shut down the government if Republicans stonewall on Russia investigation

That might be delicious if Trump withdraws funding from quite a different set of federal agencies.

Pagar, a bacon, ham, and sausage supporter

As near as I cab tell, Mika is attempting to become head leftist propaganda spreader.

" You need to think of the end game here, because there isn't one at the rate we are going."

IMO, Mika and her fellow American haters intend to defeat the only decent person in the Federal government lately; turning the finest country the world has ever seen into a 4th world hellhole worse than Cuba.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

I see Chuck Woolery thinks Trump is letting himself be bullied by the press.

You know what I think? Supporters who grow faint-hearted or don't understand what's going on (and that would include me) need to quit voicing every single hand-wringing moment on very public forums like Twitter and Facebook, not to mention TALK RADIO.

All this does is get other people discouraged and dilutes the message, which doesn't happen to be the expertise of Laura Ingraham or Chuck Woolery. Trump also doesn't need on-air advice from Levin orr Rush.

If their message is so damn important, "write it down and send it by courier! "(Ha!)

Otherwise, how about talking about how many different ways the government could have been surveilling Trump, or why it would not necessarily be legal (particularly if that 2nd FISA warrant was falsified), or something else pertinent to the situation?

We are done automatically presuming these anonymous sources are knowledgeable and accurate in what they present -- correct?

Oh, that train sailed long ago.

I automatically presume that these anonymous sources are completely without knowledge and entirely inaccurate in what they present; and slanderous and utterly dishonest as well.

Money quote:

Lori Glover, who owns the land containing the protest site and plays a leading role in protest activities, said she was "privileged" to have worked with him.

"He served his time, made a new start," Glover told the Chronicle. "I was unaware of any of this past history. Despite that, I feel very privileged to have worked with Pete Hefflin."

Her husband, Mark Glover, called Hefflin an "honorable man" and wrote off his criminal history by pointing out that "American Indians have an incredibly high incarceration rate."

Don't worry it wasn't rape rape. Besides, there's worse things. Just ask Ashley Judd...

I would love it if the oval office took a page from "Home Alone " and put cut-outs of figures dancing in the window that CNN is photographing

Did someone say Home Alone?

They could fake an Oval Office murder and then go turn on CNN to watch the reporting.

Mexico’s Cemex, one of the largest cement producers in the world, has also stated it would participate in building the wall.

“We will gladly do it,” Cemex President Rogelio Zambrano told the daily newspaper Reforma, when asked if the company would provide a cement estimate for the controversial project.

Think any SJWs will show up at Casa Rogelio Zambrano protesting this? Think his no doubt formidable security force would put up with them?

Is anyone else surprised that it would be capable to train a camera onto the oval office window like that? Why not a high-powered sniper's rifle?

Dave (in MA)

I recall reading after Nov. 9th that Obama had postponed a lot of the planned Oval Office hardening renovations until after he left, and that it was going to cause Trump to lose access to if for a substantial chunk of his first year.

Frau Edith Steingehirn

Great moment in L.A. radio history there, CH:
Dr. Laura "How often do you masturbate?" Schlessinger and Teh Tammy! I listened to each of them for a while.

lyle

"How often do you masturbate?"

MFM: Now that you mention it, we're kinda sorta glad Obama's out of office because hitting it 24/7 for eight years took a lot of time and energy!

DebinNC

Rigged White House Renovations Revealed ... Just when I think it's impossible to despise BOzo more I do.

jimmyk

Hey! I thought this was a family blog.

In any case I think bending over for Barry is the more apropos image versus "hitting it." But the point is the same.

Jack is Back!

Won't affect Trump. He is the first POTUS to have hundreds of properties he owns to work out of. In fact, what a great way to enjoin the people around the world. At least the most affluent who play golf:)

More biz for my cranium replacement surgery.

Frau Edith Steingehirn

Dave (in MA) - does "planned Oval Office hardening renovations " mean what I think it does? Someone should check the WH movie logs to see when 'The Lives of Others' was shown.

Dave (in MA)

Frau, see Deb's link. It's possibly the exact article that I remember reading.

 joan

I always thought Nixon had a right to his paranoia* -- he was cheated out of the presidency by the democrats, and he was the object of press/media contempt from his first election.

*I never considered it paranoia, it was just called that up thread. I know I've read it on here that he was a criminal, etc., but I always felt sympathy for the man.

jimmyk

Joan, no question Nixon was unfairly maligned by a media that despised him. His transgressions seem to me to be relatively minor compared to those of some of his successors.

Davod

The smoking gun to get the public roused is really Obama's Executive Order that allowed unredacted communications of Americans to be read by personnel of 16 agencies.

cheerleader

He's been saying for awhile that fake news are "dangerous".

In his Saturday tweets he used fake news stories as his references.

Now they're all learning for themselves what he meant by "dangerous".

Old Lurker

And has that EO been reversed yet, I wondered this morning. The new EO should cancel those rights and demand the supervised return of all data viewed at those agencies.

Jack is Back!

OL,

Not until the leakers are identified. One way to pick off your enemies is to give them the right to screw you while you take notes.

Captain Hate on the iPhone

Yes, Davod, how much sleep has Meeka lost over that?

It's pretty telling that Zippy hasn't uttered a peep since Trump lowered the boom. Usually he gets his disgusting mug in front of the cameras after any bad news, including both midterm bloodbaths. Instead some weirdly worded fluff from three low level idiots.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Captain Hate,

They're not sending their best, folks.

Seriously, I find it interesting that only the low levels are sent out like cannon fodder.

I am reminded of when during the Clinton scandals they would send out Anthony Weiner, because he would go on TV to defend anything.

Now we know why!

That John Nolte link by KK is outstanding. I have an intense desire to see Martha Radditz be completely humiliated.

Its the Katzenjammer Kids over at the Un-Loyal Opposition if they think this guy is one subject participant in their poltical games.

Oops. Change of subject to jobs, investments and all the other things American's with mortgages, car payments and tuition think about. Now lets get back to basics while Schooomer clicks clacks on spying.

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

--The smoking gun to get the public roused is really Obama's Executive Order that allowed unredacted communications of Americans to be read by personnel of 16 agencies.--

I am far from an authority on Federal law and privacy/security statutes, but it seems to me that EO almost certainly had to be in violation of the law. And it also seems to me, if it was, anyone who had their name bandied about should have standing to seek redress in the courts.
Calling Judicial Watch.

Rocco

The plot thickens.

Old Lurker

Good point, Jack about that EO.

matt - deplore me if you must

A relative of mine is extremely liberal and was Chief Privacy Officer at DHS under Napolitano. Every time I hear the term I laugh out loud.

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

That Gateway Pundit link is suspect. What Hound of Hell Hillary was tweeting about was a public story at Slate that Sandy linked yesterday about some computer scientists claiming Trump's server was communicating with Alfa Bank's in Russia. The story itself was weak and there of course is the possibility it was a way for intel to make public their crooked spying, but by itself it kinda let's the hag off the hook.

Old Lurker

Matt, you laugh because you forgot to ask exactly whose privacy he was there to protect. In a moment of weakness you probably assumed he was to protect the privacy of citizens, not Dem officers of the DHS.

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

My 5:00PM wish is their command. :)

Because that announcement is Exxon, I fully expect to see a dem effort to say that this expansion in the Gulf Coast is why Tillerson was awarded SOS.

Yeah, try and sell that.

"Exxon paid off Trump by creating more jobs!!"

I don't think that will fly.

lurkersusie

Another homerun

That supposed FBI investigation of collusion with the Russians? Never mind . . . They’re in retreat now. You may have missed it amid President Trump’s startling Saturday tweet storm, the recriminations over president-on-candidate spying, and the Jeff Sessions recusal — a whirlwind weekend. But while you weren’t looking, an elaborate narrative died. For months, the media-Democrat complex has peddled a storyline that the Putin regime in Russia hacked the U.S. presidential election. There is, of course, no evidence that the election was hacked in the sense that the actual voting process was compromised. Rather, there is evidence that e-mail accounts of prominent Democrats were hacked months before the election, and thousands of those e-mails were published by WikiLeaks in the months leading up to the election.

Captain Hate

The way Trump is handling the MFM is just masterful. Right now I'm feeling optimistic in a way that I haven't felt since the fall of the Berlin Wall.

DoT used to aggravate me by stating that another Reagan wasn't walking through the door. That irritated me, as I think it would have RR, by suggesting that he was a one off and completely unique to his time. A year ago I would've never imagined saying this but Trump embodies everything I wanted the GOP to be since Reagan. He will surely irritate me at some point in the future but it ain't happened yet.

To paraphrase Augustus McCray, sometimes we place our hopes in the most unlikely vessels.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Beasts,

What this means is that I delivered both my children in less than 3 hours with NO ANESTHESIA! (Details not provided.)

All my sisters except one, and my mother, the same way. My mom barely made it to the admissions area when my brother was born.

None of this 14 hours of labor for my family!

LOL!

anonamom

That's official, Beasts.

Back in the day, about four or five months into pregnancy the OB used to put you in those stirrups, where your are on your back, legs spread and sheet covering you so you have a modicum of decency, kinda root around down there, to see how far apart the bones are, to see if there might be a problem come delivery day with getting that big ol head out.
Think of the pelvis bones as a big punch bowl--

As I am 5'9" tall, and have wider shoulders than my spouse,so I wasn't anticipating any issues But when the guy sticks his head out to side to look at me, and says:
"You could drive a truck through here"

I wasn't exactly sure if that was a "OB compliment," or if I should take offense.

But with a four hour labor with baby one and a 40 minute one w baby two, it's pretty clear--I was made for birthing babies.

And it's pretty clear why our genes made it through the eons.

anonamom

No drugs for me either, MM

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Captain Hate,

I was looking at what went on today.

After the weekend of furor over his charges of wiretapping, he stayed quiet for a while and then did 3 tweets on the Exon deal, which, as Jack pointed out, changed the subject to jobs.

Meanwhile, he sent out his 3 high profile security people (Tillerson, Sessions and Kelly) to talk about the EO, while he was busy with other stuff. His keepiong behind the scenes today will make his next appearance more interesting, plus he had 3 authorities on the subject out speaking about the EO. (By the way, they took no press questions.)

I am so glad to have someone who knows how to deal with the press, plus keeps his promises and actually gets stuff done!

Miss Marple the Deplorable

anonamom,

NEANDERTHALS UNITE! LOL!

You are way taller than me (I am 5'4".) However. although we are all short in my family, we all have broad shoulders as regards to height.

Also, we all have short legs compared to height.
This goes for my dad, mom, brother, etc. We are long-waisted.

Fascinating to think about, isn't it?

Captain Hate

Miss Marple,

He's an executive who knows how to delegate and how to communicate. I think we've been poorly served by a political class existing completely within its own echo chamber which has grown completely ossified. Paul Ryan seems like a friendly guy but not having any experience outside of politics just doesn't permit him to fully understand the hopes and concerns of his constituents. The system has needed a wrecking ball for a long time.
