Forcing unpopular bills through is good and stopping unpopular bills in their tracks is bad?

Seriously, Whore?

rich

this was the thread I was referring to about:

http://justoneminute.typepad.com/main/2014/05/if-you-like-your-employer-sponsored-health-plan-you-can-keep-it-unless.html

Don't have a link to the actual report though. Seemed to have gotten a lot of press at the time though.

Captain Hate

Funny how annoying trolls show up here and Outhouse at the same time.

They want to repeal and replace and I am certain in the next round they will get it right.
Tom Delay had some interesting thoughts.
He said you go to the far right first then move toward the moderates
to secure your vote count.
They need him on a retainer along with Newt.
Remember welfare reform wasn't signed by Clinton but Newt persisted and eventually got it done.

I agree that they will get something to pass, I thoroughly disagree that they will get it right as long as "replace" is including in the plan.

maryrose

Sorry Rich, I did not know you were a Gator fan.
I am torn between Xavier and Gonzaga as to who I want to win.
I believe it will be a first for both teams in the Final Four .
Most entertaining game last night had to be UCLA/Kentucky.
If you like street ball fast paced basketball it was a real treat.

The story arc Adams predicted is actually happening. And he did predict this pivot in the media. I saw it last December.

I agree. And it would provide me (and I suspect many here) to have Obamacare stricken in its entirety, so that it can exert no influence on any future legislation. Like in a "Back to the Future"-type movie where something from the past is undone and it disappears without a trace in the present.

Plus, the difficulty of getting anything else passed would help prevent the "replace" part.

Porchlight

Of course, jimmyk - he's a leftist.

In their world, if I'm not forced to buy X for Bob, I'm prohibiting Bob from having X.

Captain Hate

In the Kentucky/UCLA game I was incredulous at how badly Ball got worked by Fox at both ends of the court. I was honestly expecting UCLA to prevail but I have to give Calipari credit for the adjustments he made.

Jack is Back!

I missed the games last night since Frederick was skating and I went to watch him but even as a Bearcat I am happy to see X still in the mix.

Watching Dan LeBatard earlier today and he showed highlights and noted that X probably couldn't even put one of their players on the All America honorable mention much less the 2 teams. Don't know about that but watching the replay they outhustled the Bruins. Reminded me a little of the old Butler teams Bunch of no-names in the final four.

Thanks. I'd give the effort last night a 7.5 out of 10. I used salt, garlic, dill, and lemon for the scallops (a bit too much should have stuck with the salt and lemon). The broccoli was a bit overdone or over salted, but mostly uninspired. The beer was an uninspired Sierra Nevada-might have been an older batch that got rotated to the front.

Watching the Gators win was awesome though.

Captain Hate

I forgot you're an alum, rich. I went to bed before the game was over but reading online game threads this morning was very entertaining.

Porchlight

Try sauteed spinach or chard as a bed for your scallops next time, Rich. Fast and easy and you can do it in the same pan after the scallops come out. Then place the scallops on top of a bed of the spinach and you're done.

If you're feeling extra inspired, deglaze the pan with a little white wine over medium heat, simmer until reduced by half, turn off heat, add a pat of butter and drizzle over the scallops and spinach.

Now I'm hungry.

rich

regarding the Zerocare stuff, I thinking more about more about the parable of the wineskins: new wine into new wineskins and old wine into old wineskins.

CH-

the Gators were down for most of the first half then tuned it on an ended the half up 2. They were playing great in the second got up by 12 then Wisconsin turned it on and tied it up with a 3 at the end of regulation. The Gators were down 2 with about 4 seconds to go in OT when Chiozza hit his 3 (not really know to shoot at that distance-and an ugly shot to boot).

Holy Moly.

Didn't realize the Gators won like that, Rich. It's why the only college BBall I watch (except for few ocassions like Cincy v. X) is March Madness. Crazy things happen, just the Ryder Cup in Golf.

In 4 seconds the Gator perfectly executed the 3 pointer needed to win the game.

From Drago @ Outhouse:

So to summarize, dems take over 14 months to pass obamacare and they are WONDERFUL! Republicans don't pass a repeal/replace bill out of the House in 61 days and ALL IS LOST!!

don't worry guys -- Trump is handling things well, playing golf again this weekend. I think Spicey tried to lie about it, but its hard when they send pics out of him playing.

At least Trump is a 3hdcp and is worth playing with or watching versus "momma jeans" boy who never broke 100 without gimme's and cheating. When you are that good a golfer it doesn't take 5+ hours to play and you still have time to MAGA versus MALA. You can choose what L means.

USA up 1-0 on Honduras after 7 minutes. Need to win to get to the 2018 World Cup. Haven't been sharp or competitive lately. Nothing like the laset few WC qualifier teams.

X is up against a team who is fired up to make the final 4. They will need more than luck in 2nd half. That big pollack for Zaga takes up all the room in the center. Forget about him and take out the 3's and drivers.

PD, Dems worked on nationalizing health care since 1993 at least. Probably since the 60s.

henry

Hillary had a plan in her pocket from the 90s they could use PD.

Captain Hate

Again, it's possible to conduct the nation's business on the golf course depending on who's in the foursome. Zippy used it for advanced jock sniffing with Zo Mourning who, armed with a Georgetown education, was too dumb to realize that's what was happening. His terrible game kept any of those outings from being serious.

lyle

I gotta say every time one of those insipid commercials with los amigos negros comes on I still chuckle at the comment someone posted in the past few days quoting Barckley saying something along the lines that if he had a week to live he'd kill Skip Bayless on live TV.

Can't disagree with this. It isn't catastrophic, but this is a major failure.

Too bad we can't run back the clock and after Reagan won, the House passed a blank bill and let the Senate and Reagan fill in the tax cuts. Ryan is far too big government to be able to cut the hc gordian knot. Steyn had a good point on Rush's show the other day: we have the worst features of government run health care and the worst features of a private system.

Standard insanity from the BBC, but this time they deserve to be physically beaten for their idiocy: BBC: London attacker Khalid Masood acted alone, say police

First Paragraph:. Deputy assistant commissioner Neil Basu said: "We must all accept that there is a possibility we will never understand why he did this."

It is the modern day version of what Brits were doing in the 1300's when the Plague came thru. One story I read said that a townsman held a white handkerchief over the walls at night and when he thought he heard the plague approaching he sliced off his hand holding the handkerchief, thinking that bloody rag would satiate the Plague and leave the villagers in peace. That is the level of idiocy the BBC and Brit magistrates are currently pushing on their Plague ridden citizens.

What an astoundingly offensive comment.

I think it was a 66. The K was during the 64 model year thru 67. If I am not mistaken. The car was rebuilt by a pal (bass player from an old band). He sold it to me rebuilt and repainted for $4500. 20 years ago. He bought a Harley.
