Miss Marple the Deplorable

White House Correspondents dinner getting the treatment now. HAHAHA!

daddy

We can Jack, but I'm awful lazy.

BTW,

Trump is on live on CNN down here and he's killing it so far---really going after the Correspodents dinner in the "Washington swamp."

Miss Marple the Deplorable

This is a great rally. LOL!

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Now he's rating the media's 100 days!!!

This is great!

David, Infamous Deplorable

You learn the darndest things at JoM. I followed the link Ignatz gave in his attempt to educate the troll, and I discovered that Cyrano de Bergerac was a real person! I had always thought that he was a creation of the French playwright, but it turns out that Cyrano was real, but that we know so little about his life that the man in the play might as well be made up. Still, interesting stuff.

David

Miss Marple the Deplorable

I hope you guys get a chance to watch the rerun of this if you can't watch it now. It's hilarious!

daddy

Trump on the media: “They’re incompetent dishonest people...” I love the straight talk:)

Halcyon days

People no longer fear him and it's showing on him.

The good news is that it creates 'shrinkage'.

The bad news is it creates shrinage.

Halcyon days

shrinkage..as in shrink.

daddy

Love how he’s going after the Paris Climate Accord as a bogus, idiotic deal. Great. That’ll get the Aussie’s hollering.

Halcyon days

David: amazed he can larn here

You might think that was a sock, but not.

Other than recipes...oh just let it go.

daddy

Who would have thought this time last year that the Media and the Left's entire focus on 29 April 2017 would be devoted to trying to dishonestly tell America how little Trump has accomplished in his first 100 Days in Office:)

narciso

Re that times roundup, this is the second time I forgot about sally Yates, the first was a tabloid i saw a few weeks ago. That was one of many gotcha moments that collapsed.

Halcyon days

Daddy: Is it more incompetent to fail to enumerate the vast number of successes, or more so to toot your own horn about the phantoms and royal clothing that no one can see?

Except y'all.

The Emperor's clothes are magnificent, aren't they?

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Now he's going after Schumer.

daddy

Trump: "Senator Schumer is a bad leader! ...He's weak on crime and he wants to raise your taxes through the roof.

Captain Hate

I never can figure out whats going thru Frum's head

Unfortunately not a hollowpoint but more like something associated with fried butter.

JiB, do you think London Fletcher is a lock for the HOF? I would like to think so but I'm biased having been a fan of both of his teams. After him introing the Redskins choice, I'd like to think that if he does get inducted he'll be rocking the Burgandy and Gold. The NFL HOF is, like everything else associated with Goodell, a complete random selection with Don Coryell and Joe Jacoby on the outside looking in. I wonder if pussyboy Mara is whining to Goodell to punish the Skins and Girls for having Fletcher and Pearson trolling Philthadelphia and making a mockery of this solemn league event.

My brother called to tell me that the Stoolers had professional wrestling living legend Bruno Sammartino announce one of their picks. Bruno was before the roided up McMahon freak show, and was honestly very strong with man boobs and not chemically chiseled, which is why he's lasted so long.

Halcyon days

daddy

I hope Trump says he’s canceling the special sweetheart opt out Deal from ObamaCare for Congress and DC employees. Man would he get applause for that. The roof would blow off the building he's speaking in.

narciso

Apparently fraud merkel reproached macaroon during the grek bailout talks

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Again Trump hints at teaching Civics and patriotism in schools.

daddy, 20 minutes outside of Paris is this place--gorgeous, great food, and a swimming pool--if you can't get into the city--splurge on a great afternoon here:https://www.relaischateaux.com/us/france/templiers-loiret-boismorand It's 20 km from the city.

pussyboy Mara

I'd take offense at this, but I can't because it's a fair description. I have no use and no respect for John Mara at all.

daddy

CNN Talking Heads say it is stunning that Trump spent the 1st 10 minutes grading the media for their 100 day performance instead of making comments about his own 100 Day performance.

Now CNN is talking about all the protesters. The current reporter is saying he did not hear much of what Trump wants to accomplish in the future.

Very sullen, very serious, unsmiling visages on the CNN Talking Heads.

Now to the expanded panel of 10 people---first question from the CNN hosts: : Why would Trump start out criticizing the Media instead of telling the audience what he planned to do in the future?

Now to David Gergen: (Not verbatim but pretty close) I did think he moved his base---he played to their fears. This is the most divisive speech I have ever heard from a US President. He was saying to Americans who did not support them that he did not give a damn about them...it was a deeply disturbing speech.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

daddy,

It is deeeply disturbing to me that David Gergen is still drawing a paycheck.

narciso

What productive work could be doing otherwise, did they have Jeffrey Lord there, that way they could pretend to have a clue.

That's all the CNN I can take so I've switched over to Aussie TV for their post speech coverage.

And just a general observation I've noticed from TV this morning. I can tell that Australia is no longer mocking Trump in their coverage. That is very evident. They still don’t like him, since they still get their “feeling” points and "Talking" points from CNN and the NYTimes, but watching him deal with the Nork’s and Syria and all the rest has knocked the snark off their lips. I'm not noticing the cheap shots and sarcastic tone that used to litter their TV coverage when they'd discuss Trump. Maybe their own recent troubles with illegal immigration and homegrown Islamic Terror has turned them from the overage adolescents they've previously demonstrated that they are, and finally pushed them into mental adulthood. Regardless how it's happened, the general tenor of mocking Trump is absent from the coverage I've been seeing today and it's a welcome relief to observe News without the standard juvenile snark.

Jack is Back!! (Go Caps, please)

CH,

I think Fletch is a first round pick but I don't have a vote. It's the writers who do. My friend, Tom Mack, took something like 11 vote years to get in because of one writer in San Francisco. He was constantly accused for being the guy who moved on 3rd and goal play against the Vikings in the NFC championship game that kept the Rams out of their first Super Bowl.

We started a letter campaign that went on for 3 years when he and I worked together and that guy finally gave in. I learned then there as many guys who deserve HOFwho are not in (or more) then the guys who are in.

Fletch is missing conference championship and super bowl which seems to be the gold standard.

Caps out play Pens in 1st period by a country mile and get zip. Fleury is en fuego at goal. How many times have I seen this opera?

Captain Hate

That's David Rodham Gergen h/t Rush.

I have no use and no respect for John Mara at all.

I'll give him credit for backing Coughlin when he ditched that POS Tiki Barber and *zounds* two Super Bowls happened. OTOH he was a complete vag when he ran to King Roger the Pudgy and whined about Snyder and Jones violating a nonexistent salary cap even though the league office approved every damn one of those deals and penalized them by losing draft choices. I will never not be outraged about that.

narciso

Now I don't know who's really responsible for this, but it's not encouraging

Fletcher has one Super Bowl ring and two conference championships with the Rams.

JimNorCal

MissM: "Now he's rating the media's 100 days!!!"

That is SO cool! Can't wait for that to show up on YouTube.

Jack is Back!! (Go Caps, please)

35 tries/16 saves for Caps and Fleury in 1st period. 16 saves in one period and no score. Not trying hard enough, I guess.

It is deeeply disturbing to me that David Gergen is still drawing a paycheck.

I actually expected a different final word to that sentence. :)

I was about to post "fucking Caps" but that was a great power play goal.

And now another power play! GO CAPS!!!

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

That is funny.

Captain Hate

I can't complain about the Caps effort so far. That shorthanded goal was off a flukey carom and the Pen just outskating everyone. This period has been well played by both sides. Great play by the Pens.

daddy

It is deeeply disturbing to me that David Gergen is still drawing a paycheck.

Miss M,

Gergen was followed by Paul Begala, almost comedic in his frantic yammering and hand waving, telling us Trump wasn't appealing to "Purple" voters in Pennsylvania and that that was a big problem.

He and Gergen have so wrapped themselves into their TV persona's, I don't think they have any options left to be anything different than the characters they play on TV. They come on stage, they spout their canned lines, they exit Stage right. They have trapped themselves in their roles (Gergen the lugubrious jowled 'Chicken-littler,' Begala the ADD court jester searching for a giggle), as strongly as Max Baer Jr did in trapping himself in the role of 'Jethro' from the Beverly Hillbillies, or whoever played Sergeant Schultz on Hogan's Hero's doing the same. They couldn't do anything else if they had to---They have no personas left to change into.

And I think Trump was brilliant in spending the first 10 minutes hammering the snot out of CNN and the lying "Fake Media." It got CNN's anchors panties in a wad, but that was broadcast live all over the world. Down here there were no interruptions of the speech on CNN. I already mentioned how Aussie TV News has in my view quit it's standard mocking of Trump, and I think what Trump did today played beautifully in straightforward telling a worldwide audience that CNN was totally untrustworthy, along with it's partners in propaganda, particularly the New York Times. Getting that meme out front and center to a worldwide audience and hammering away at it for the first 10 minutes of the speech that folks would pay attention to was brilliant. For viewers around the world to see Trump so defiantly and relentlessly doing that was great---hugely great!. That'll be discussed all around the world---Trump slapping dishonest CNN for 10 minutes. I can't think of anything Trump could have done more damaging to the worldwide Left wing meme-pumpers than his first 10 minutes today, cutting the legs of clay out from under those miserable edifices of disinformation. Bravo, Donald!

They are like waldorf and stadler, the balcony judges on the old Muppet show ( the new one went transgressive and was soon cancelled)

Miss Marple the Deplorable

daddy,

Thanks for that analysis, because I as so wrapped up in enjoying the press getting told off that I didn't stop to think about the world-wide audience. In fact, I am amazed it was covered all over the world.

Please go see the post I linked above about Russia being willing to come to the table on Syria. Lavorov's statement is posted down in the comments.

Great news!

My friend Jan says she thinks he will have North Korea and Syria solved before July. Boy, that would be something!

Some wanker on Fox was in despair that Trump would never get anything from Chuck U by trolling him and suggested he needed to reach out to him instead.
Why? Trump needs a couple of fang holes in his hand?

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Ignatz,

Chuck chose his path and isn't going to deviate.

Trump has known him for a long time. If there were any way to gain his cooperation, it would already have been done.

He's a sniveling weasel and I was glad to see hiim called out. He IS a terrible leader, plus an uninspiring speaker and constantly negative.

The only good thing I can say about Chuck Schumer is that he's not Elizabeth Warren.

What is also curious is until weiner and probably razorback, the brits were leading the league in scandals of this type.

daddy

Trump trolling the MFM is great.

Yep Captain,

And as I posted above, the very first comment the CNN co-Hostess made was that she was "stunned" that Trump spent the 1st 10 minutes grading the media for their 100 day performance instead of making comments about his own 100 Day performance, and that was followed by the very first question to their panel which was this:

"Why would Trump start out criticizing the Media instead of telling the audience what he planned to do in the future?"

He is miles ahead of them.

FWIW, now Aussie TV is showing Carl Bernstein speaking to the Correspondents Dinner, He is talking about "Truth" as being "nuance more than existential facts" and the faces of that audience looks like they are holding a wake instead of a gagfest. Now Woodward is up after tepid applause for his deep throat buddy sitting down.

Off to score some Aussie chow. Later.

I liked Passengers.(Slight spoiler alert)

As entertainment it wasn't that much more serious than ... say "Overboard". What Kurt Russel's character did with Goldie's character was in a way as bad as waking up Lawrence's.

But some say if "Passengers" is exploring a serious morality dilemma it shouldn't absolve such transgression against everyday decency with a plot contrivance that saves the day.

OTOH if taken seriously humans have survival instincts that in unexpected danger often are at odds with everyday decency.

So survival instinct survived where decency wouldn't have.

Sbwaters

In their “recorded” solicitation on the phone today I gave the RNC an earful of why, because of Ryan and the GOPe, I would parcel out donations to individual candidates, not through the RNC.

They demurred, that they did not control representatives, and I talked over them until I hung up on them.

Porchlight

Welcome, MM! Was great...even though I was interrupted several thousand times while watching. :)

Captain Hate

Schoooomer is the perfect opposition party leader. First of all, he looks like he's crawling with lice. Second, those idiotic half glasses make him look like a brainless stooge. Third, he harangues women at restaurants and his whore staff lies about it. All he needs is an "exercise band malfunction".

John Banner. Incidentally, he was Jewish.

And a concentration camp survivor, whose family was killed by the Nazis. Louis (Robert Clary) was also a camp survivor and lost his family. Colonel Klink (Werner Klemperer) and the guys who played Burkhalter and Hochstetter were also Jewish and concentration camp survivors.

DrJ

Strange, jimmyk, isn't it?

Captain Hate

Regarding Overboard, any time you have so many horrible people in the cast that Roddy McDowall seems normal, the envelope has been pushed so hard that crumpling is ancient history. Goldie Hawn was perfectly cast as a neurotic pampered skeezer who becomes happy with the simple life with hideously needy brats, probably the best use of her weird Laugh In persona, the plural of which is personae, Tarhole.

jimmyk

And DrJ, I'm sure you know Klemperer was the son of the great conductor Otto Klemperer. They fled Germany in 1938 I believe.

Captain Hate

I think Mad magazine pointed out how tasteless it was to have a comedy about a POW camp.
