First?

daddy

Someone mentioned yesterday that it seems that leaks are way down following the firing of Reince Priebus. I have been gone and missed a lot but that seems overall to be true to me, tho' maybe the leaks have been submerged by all the brouhaha resulting from Charlottesville so that the Media hasn't needed to publicize leaks to generate Anti-Trump memes. What do you guys think?

Yippee! Liberal boycott backfires; Dennis Prager sells out Santa Monica symphony in guest appearance

I would have loved to have heard Dennis's monolog on this yesterday. My only complaint with the attached News video is that they downplay what the Lefty UCLA Professors who organized the boycott actually said about Dennis. They said Dennis was a racist and a hate filled bigot who promoted genocide. Now why would the News Media fail to report that?

If so, that's further support for leaks stopping following the ouster of Priebus.

http://freebeacon.com/columns/the-party-of-trump/

What Drutman describes as a “split in the Republican Party between populists and conservatives” can also be interpreted as a division between the party of Trump and the Grand Old Party. The two parties may agree on some issues, but they differ in tone and outlook and on crucial policy questions. It is difficult for them to function as a coalition government. Trump’s health care reform is stalled in Congress, his tax reform is inchoate, and his infrastructure plan is nonexistent. The two parties are able to unite against the left, but have trouble finding common legislative ground.

WTF? When? Where? But I can't disagree with this:

Recent events have brought to light the distinction between the party of Trump and the GOP. But it would be foolish for Democrats to believe that they are out of the woods, that America has settled, for the moment, on a three-party system. What we have are four parties: The mainstream Republicans, the party of Trump, the mainstream Democrats, and the party of Sanders.

But, if anything, Trump has disabused those of us paying attention of the notion that there's a whit of difference between part #1 and party #3 of the above listed four.

Which is what most people do with statues like that. They see some dude on horse, but they've no idea who the dude was or what he did and they don't care. Or they didn't care up until the Left decided to use the statues to re-ignite the Civil War, because that's all they've got left in their arsenal to take Trump down.

Will it work? Not if the latest Maris poll is right. 62% of the country--including 44% of the AAs--want to leave the statues right where they are.

I live a few blocks from Robert E. Lee Road in town. You'll all be shocked to hear that someone spraypainted the street signs in blood red. Maybe just last night - I drive down it every day and I only just noticed today.

We had a Robert E. Lee Elementary here in town but its name was changed to Russell Lee last year.

Mr. Porch graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baton Rouge. They already closed it ages ago so they can't rename it.

Funny note - a year or so ago there was a prankster putting up funny fake signs on intersections - the handwritten kind you see advertising garage sales. I can't remember all the different amusing ones but one of them advertised a garage sale on "Robert E. Lee Road AKA Al Sharpton Blvd." I do not think he was an Al Sharpton fan.

Maryrose, having been in both sides of the business--first as a reporter and then as a media spokesperson for a large federal government agency--I can say from experience that it takes a lot of self-discipline on the part of a spokesperson to stay on message and not succumb to a reporter stroking your ego and manipulating you into talking out of school. The bigger your ego, the easier it's going to be to manipulate you.

Also, having been somewhat inside the inner workings of a previous WH administration, I can say most people have no idea of the huge power struggles that go on between the players inside the Oval. You leak to consolidate and advance your power and to cut down the other guy's. There literally is no other feeling in the world like the kind of power that lives inside the Oval. If you're not careful you can get to the point where you'd stab your mother in the heart to climb up even one more rung on the ladder of that power.

Hey,

Maybe I won't have to bulldoze the ADN into oblivion. From todays updates:

---Rogoff said she has sunk at least $17 million of her own money into Alaska Dispatch News since buying the previously named Anchorage Daily News in 2014 for $34 million...

---GCI filed an eviction lawsuit accusing Alaska Dispatch News of not paying some rent and utility bills. An eviction has the potential to wreck the business because there would be nowhere else to print the newspaper...

---A federal bankruptcy judge and Northrim Bank on Thursday allowed Alaska Dispatch News to use $80,000 of its money to pay its carriers, ensuring that the newspaper will continue to be delivered

---Alaska Dispatch News "couldn't afford to make payroll next week if it doesn't use the money the Binkleys have,"

The Binkley's are the potential new buyers, offering $1 Million for the rag. My guess is this time next year it won't exist.
