Nice Bruni... You only notice when the targeting gets to you.

With apologies to MR, I am not letting this get moldy on the previous thread:

Clarice explains #Goolag, exposes #MSM misrepresentations, and shines the harsh light of day on #Demmedia narratives. Well done!

Assuming Bruni has a readership they're surely challenged by life.

Holy Krystalnacht

This was August 10th

No one is quite sure what Sebastian Gorka, officially a deputy assistant to President Trump, actually does at the White House. This hasn’t stopped him, however, from being a near constant presence in the media.

Wednesday, Gorka appeared on Breitbart News Daily, the radio show of his former employer. Gorka responded to criticism stemming from a previous media appearance on MSNBC where he said “[t]here’s no such thing as a lone wolf” attack. The concept, according to Gorka, was “invented by the last administration to make Americans stupid.”

The idea of a “lone wolf attack,” Gorka says, is a ruse to point blame away from al Qaeda and ISIS when “[t]here has never been a serious attack or a serious plot that was unconnected from ISIS or al Qaeda.” Critics were quick to point to the example of Timothy McVeigh, who was not connected to ISIS or al Qaeda and killed 168 people when he bombed a federal building in Oklahoma City in 1995.

On Wednesday, Gorka lashed out at “at [New York Times reporter] Maggie Haberman and her acolytes in the fake news media, who immediately have a conniption fit” and brought up McVeigh. He added that “white men” and “white supremacists” are not “the problem.”

It’s this constant, “Oh, it’s the white man. It’s the white supremacists. That’s the problem.” No, it isn’t, Maggie Haberman. Go to Sinjar. Go to the Middle East, and tell me what the real problem is today. Go to Manchester.

Gorka noted that the Oklahoma City bombing was 22 years ago, which is true. But since 9/11, right-wing extremists — almost always white men and frequently white supremacists — have been far more deadly domestically than Muslim extremists. A study found that in the first 13.5 years after 9/11, Muslim extremists were responsible for 50 deaths in the United States. Meanwhile, “right-wing extremists averaged 337 attacks per year in the decade after 9/11, causing a total of 254 fatalities.”

Good morning JOM

daddy on iPad

Excellent Pieces, Clarice.

I don't know if JOM has been paying attention to the Taylor Swift trial. In normal times I think she would be being praised to the skies by feminists but I wonder if she is getting so little of that sort of "Atta-girl!" back-patting from the Left due to her appearing in a red MAGA hat and apparently supporting Trump. I think Kanye West tried to storm the stage and take her music awards trophy away from her in 2 different years, but him being a protected category he was able to get away with it. Regardless who's right in this latest Law Suit, and it sure looks like she is, I have to pull for her since she had the balls to not hire Gloria Allred to help her play the women victims card---plus she's kickin' ass! That she is not being treated as a legitimate Female Icon worthy of Helen Reddy accolades, I have to think it's another Sherlock Holmsian Case of The Dog That Didn't Bark---in this case the The Gloria Steinholm that didn't Emote.

Why didn't Nina Burleigh offer to...never mind.

The Unite the Right people had permits that the city initially tried to pull.

ACLU helped them get the permits reinstated.

There were media from all over ready to report.

Tiki torches, white polos, and flags ordered in bulk.

The Charlottesville police were "politically pressured" to stand down.

Instead of protecting the legally permitted protesters, they drove them into the arms of the non-permitted Antifa thugs (similar to what was done in Berkeley and San Jose).

The media all had the "white nationalist" tag ready to go and universally used it.

Set up.

James Alex Fields Jr., 20, was booked into the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail on one count of second-degree murder, three counts of malicious wounding, and one count of failing to stop at an accident that resulted in a death.

On Saturday night, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the opening of a federal civil rights investigation into the case.

“The Richmond FBI Field Office, the Civil Rights Division, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Virginia have opened a civil rights investigation into the circumstances of the deadly vehicular incident that occurred earlier Saturday morning," Sessions said in a statement. "The FBI will collect all available facts and evidence, and as this is an ongoing investigation we are not able to comment further at this time.”

Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, a Trump supporter who was in Charlottesville on Saturday, quickly replied. “I would recommend you take a good look in the mirror & remember it was White Americans who put you in the presidency, not radical leftists,” he wrote.

Does he need reminding?

Could there be a connection between political theater and troll theater?

Flush! Yes.

Noticed the same thing on Twitter. I swear, a memo was emailed out.

You'd think NSA could make themselves useful for once.

Hey daddy, did you notice they're claiming that Eddie Haskell did it?

Miss Marple the Deplorable

I have another question.

Where does David Duke get his money?

I'm at the beach for a week, so I'll be at least a day behind on everything; couldn't help noticing this article in the Nation that asserts it was a USB drive, not a hack, that collected the DNC docs that wikileaks published. And the whole world laughed at Trump when he said he couldn't be sure it was the Russians. And just about every cowardly GOP senator voted to punish Russia for something they apparently didn't do. Meanwhile, I'm wondering who will write the book titled "How Traitorous John Brennan Used The New York Times to Leak State Secrets and Attempt to Take Down an Elected President".

Miss Marple the Deplorable

That article is interesting and henry says it makes sense. Lefty outlets are now making super scientificy refutations which seem to make no sense.

That's a good question, he stiffed the Russians, even the mullahs got tired of crashing on their couch.

The meme I am picking up this morning from an indignant press is that the two factions protesting yesterday are not 'morally equivalent'.

They were certainly armed equivalently. You have people from both sides showing up in fatigues, helmets and gas masks AND armed with shields and clubs.

Those people are showing up to fight.

Here's the UK Daily Mail story on the female reporter from The Hill being punched by some Soros paid Antifa thug for filming the Charlottesville event:

Reporter is punched in the face by counter-protester as she tries to film aftermath of Charlottesville car attack

I am interested in seeing if they continue to follow the story of their former reporter being punched by some thug. The Mail strikes me as not generally as beholden to the CNN/NYTimes meme of the day, plus she used to be one of their reporters.

I know CBS completely tossed Lara Logan under the boss, their female reporter who was raped in Tahriri Square by Obama's Arab Spring Muslim Brotherhooders, but the U.K. Daily may actually get more kudos from honestly reporting about their reporter being punched in the face than pulling another Nina Burleigh for the lawless Left.

It reminds me a bit of the 2012 incident where 2 Virginia Pilot reporters were beaten by a group of Black "Youths" but the Paper refused to publish the story.. I don't know if history repeats itself or rhymes anymore, but it sure does Haiku a lot.

Where the Senate changes, with a rule of its own, a constitutional requirement of 51% to approve a POTUS nomination into requiring it be unanimous:

"Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren is blocking the confirmation of President Trump´s nominee to run the Justice Department´s antitrust division, offering no explanation and refusing an offer to meet with Makan Delrahim, according to a source with knowledge of the confirmation process. Warren reportedly put a "hold" on Delrahim´s nomination as the Senate confirmed dozens of nominees for key administration positions before lawmakers started their August recess. Warren´s obstruction came after Delrahim´s nomination sailed through the Senate Judiciary Committee by a 19-1 vote featuring broad support from some of the Democratic Party´s most liberal members..."

An image circulated by the Anti-Defamation League appeared to show Fields standing with members of Vanguard America, a white nationalist group that helped organize the protest…

On a Facebook page that appears to belong to Fields, photos included memes embraced by the alt right and some supporters of President Donald Trump, including Pepe the Frog and a portrait of a crowned Trump sitting on a throne.

Other posts contain more overt references to Nazism and white supremacy, including a cover photo of soldiers with an American flag and swastikas, and a baby portrait of Adolf Hitler.

Narc, relational databases are brilliant. Oracle’s implementation is overblown and hard to use.

Larry Ellison did to RDB’s what Bill Gates did to operating systems -- set advancement back by at least a decade.

But Ellison and Gates are rich so they must be right.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

I have a particular interest in the Regency period of English history and the Napoleonic Wars, which is why I read this review of biographies of Wellington.

Something in this struck me, though:

"In other words, the Duke is proof to the proposition that men or nations of men can make their own fate—proof that it is possible to “turn the clock back” or to “reverse a trend.” Despite a clear evidence of probabilities to the contrary, Wellington triumphed, Bonaparte was overcome. Jacobinism and its consequences in statism and the worship of speed or mass were not incorporated into the sociopolitical experience of the English-speaking peoples."

"Each made of the force they led a “family” , understood the maxim that leadership “requires one who has authority in his face as well as at his back” and that the relation of leader to led depends upon the former’s “ability to generate confidence” out of his own person."

Donald J. Trump in a nutshell. I don't care if you all laugh at me. I have been saying for almost 2 years that his supporters do more than vote; they started web sites, made their own ads, spoke out, showed up at rallies, and never wavered, much like Boney's troops followed him through the Peninsula and stood fast at Waterloo.

Trump made them a family.

How about citrix, that's another barrel of monkeys, why do they make so awkward to use.

I sure would like to have the low-down on that guy. His Facebook page seems to be a collection of everything Nazi-like if one is looking to create a Nazi background. Maybe he is exactly as portrayed.

And maybe not. Lord how I hate that we cannot rust what we read anymore!

I’m fed up with claims of journalist privilege.

“Journalist privilege” manifests itself when those who see themselves as special don robes and title to tell the rest of us what we should believe.

When “journalists” tell us what to believe, or selectively inform us to drive belief, they play post-modern word games to shape-shift identity politics to seem as emotionally compelling as “white privilege” was contrived to have been.

That game is a fraud. Their robes and titles do not define them any more than their labels and associations define me.

They misunderstand how simple humanity and society really are. We are all together but alone—obliged to make of the universe what we each can, while confined in bodies constrained to use tools that evolution obliges us to use: sense experience, pattern recognition, comparison, and deduction.

People like them forsake community when they choose to tear down instead of build. Good people will defend against such shortsightedness.

daddy-taylor swift's father is a lawyer. When her career took off he brought in an experienced labor lawyer classmate from duke law to be in charge of all aspects of the business. I know he is in the courtroom as I saw him in the drawings from the courtroom.

He is a friend so I am quite sure this was fully vetted before it was launched. Will be interesting to hear how it turns out.

Nice day here in Paris. Partly cloudy, but dry and the temp hits 72 when the sun pops out.

At my usual Notre Dame street side Cafe' but today there are big concrete barriers blocking traffic lanes on the 2 adjoining streets I usually ogle Tourists crossing and I cannot yet tell if if is due to road work or is a preemptive Terrorism precaution to limit traffic. The large square in front of the Cathedral is packed as usual for a Sunday, but there are tons of heavy metal gate barriers that I do not usually recall seeing. Standard amount of gendarmes, guys in white uniforms with 'POLICE' lettered on the back, but without heavy weapons, but patrolling squads of 6 blue suited army types move thru irregularly with their machine guns at hand, so hard to tell if something is in the air.

Anyhow, causal day, and golf hasn't started yet, so I am being lazy and earlier bought tickets to a double decker roofless tour bus for 24 hours where you just hop on, show your ticket, and get driven around the city looking at the sites. I've already done one lap waiting for u guys to wake up. So A carefree fun day so far, nothing pressing, but I need to tell Captain Hate Winik's prelude to The Great Upheaval is really darn good. I love how reading the bibliography by Winik about his sources for the American Revolution in that intro he says of my fav "Davis Hackett Fischer's wonderful classic, Washington's Crossings.". Damn straight! Just reading that praise won me over. Great minds! The bus took me earlier about 30 feet from where the Treaty of Paris was signed by Ben Franklin and the Brits and the Frog boys in 1783, officially making us a free and officially recognized new nation on Earth. Standard stuff.

So am currently back at Notre Dame finishing a vino and a chacouterie platter, but think I'll hit the head, jump on the bus, and have a pint at The Arch de triumph and see if TM's put up a new post or not and cleaned out the gutter.

Cheerio, good friends:)

Narciso, the thing with Oracle, MicroSoft and Citrix is their customers are developers. Not end users. They turn down their noses at "normals." As to Oracle, beyond the useless complexity noted by sbw, even as a developer they are assholes to deal with. Place is run by collections lawyers anymore.

Thanks for that, Mike. I grew up with that record playing in our house.

Federal civil rights probe launched into fatal Charlottesville crash

Sessions condemned the violence.

“When such actions arise from racial bigotry and hatred, they betray our core values and cannot be tolerated,” the attorney general said.

I guess, but it might be better if people who broke laws were prosecuted.

Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch sits during national anthem at preseason NFL game

Lynch previously backed Kaepernick, telling comedian Conan O’Brien in September 2016, “I’d rather see him take a knee than stand up, put his hands up and get murdered.”

“If you’re really not racist then you won’t see what he done, what he’s doing, as a threat to America, but just addressing a problem that we have,” Lynch said at the time.

Jack is Back!

Thanks, JimmyK for the Althouse link and the debunking of the debunking. This lines up with other opinions and analysis I have read.

The ACLU reminds me of the MIllwall Football Club and their fan's chant: "Everyone hates us and we don't care!" All DOJ and ACLU need is a few honest cops on the their ladder's top rung to turn on the Mayor Signer. I wonder if Signer is prepared to then turn on McAwful and his financier, Soros and Steyer.

You don't have to be a conspirarist to know that this was a big setup involving the MFM because they were promised "fire and fury".

A quick reminder of how Obama reacted to leftie violence and illegal, disruptive demonstrations.
"After a weekend of chaos at airports, mass protests and diplomatic outcries, criticism of Trump’s proposal even came from Barack Obama, who broke his silence for the first time since leaving office.

“(FORMER) President Obama is heartened by the level of engagement taking place in communities around the country,” Obama spokesman Kevin Lewis said.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Yes, a complete set-up involving the press. Evidence:

1. Newspaper reporters from miles away (Indianapolis) showed up prior to the violence.

2. Some of the photos circulating with great fanfare on the internet are pro photos, not from cell phones.

3. Press was ready to go with their "white nationalist" themes and questions.

4. Antifa and BLM protesters bussed in. (Don't know about the alt right protesters.)

5. Memo from Soros organization circulated asking for people to chip in on funding the counter protest.

6. UVa president co-authored a book with Elizabeth Warren, who had a statement ready to go. (This is ancillary but still important.)

7. Never Trump right attacked Trump immediately and never said one word about Antifa or BLM. (I am convinced they have made common cause with the left.)

That's just what I have seen this morning. There's probably more but I haven't gone through The_Donald or 4chan.

"Extraneus | August 13, 2017 at 11:18 AM"

Amen. Wake up and speak out! Indeed.
Everyone should be calling out the leftists and the anarchists/communists who call themselves "antifa."

I call them the "Anarcho-Fascists" in everything I post, and would heartily recommend that everyone start using that term for them.

They flew communist flags at the first of the UC Berkeley protests that became an assault on conservatives. They are all directly involved with anti-capitalist, anti-freedom movements funded by the communists and Soros' billions.

The 'Black Lives Matter' crowd has been actively going after Confederate monuments and statues of Confederate leaders throughout the South - knowing that removing them from the public square is sure to arouse the opposition of the pro-Confederacy groups, *and* the KKK / white supremacist types.
That guarantees the leftists will be able to exploit the resulting violent reactions they have ginned up . . . and the MFM is ready to immediately pounce on Pres. Trump and demand that he 'denounce' the alt-right.
While they have done their best to convince the LIV's that the alt-right includes all the Tea Party supporters, any patriots, and any conservative who reads

Just for the record . . . The above-listed comment does *not* constitute an endorsement of the KKK/Nazis/white supremacists. And it does not excuse the murderous idiot who killed the woman with his car.
But if it is okay to support 'people of color' it has to be okay to support 'people of whiteness' without condemnation.
And one side being KKK/Nazi lovers *doesn't* make the Anarcho-Fascists acceptable in any way.

Not that any of that disclaimer truly needed saying.

P.S.: When did the moronic trolls start showing back up?

"I wouldn't have recommended that statement," Scaramucci said of Trump's words on Saturday from Bedminster, New Jersey. "I think he would have needed to have been much harsher."

"With the moral authority of the presidency, you have to call that stuff out," Scaramucci said, referring to Trump's seeming unwillingness to condemn the white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, where clashes between white nationalists and counter-protest groups forced the city to declare a state of emergency Saturday.

Scaramucci went on to criticize the influence of the website Breitbart and Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, who was the executive chairman of Breitbart before joining the Trump campaign and later the administration, saying that there's "this sort of 'Bannon-bart' influence" in the White House that he thinks "is a snag on the president."

When asked by Stephanopoulos if that influence stemmed from Bannon, Scaramucci said, "I think the president knows what he's going to do with Steve Bannon."

"Let's leave it up to the president. It's his decision, but at the end of the day, the president has a very good idea of who the leakers are inside the White House. The president has a very good idea of the people who are undermining his agenda that are serving their own interests," Scaramucci added.

One of the issues with Google is that their searches trend left plus we get lazy to do the actual search and discovery and do not verify the truthfulness of the search results. Or in some instances things are slipped through the rabbit hole.

Case in point what is the etymology of the word privilege that is spewed so often by the SJW crowd. I recently read a Marcus Lehman's book Josel of Rosheim. In his prologue he states that the Jews had to pay to the Church privilege to be able to conduct business in various trades. So privilege in the middle ages was similar to jizya and how the meaning of the word privilege has been so turned on its head in modern times.

Interesting, much like the way stigma became a negative, a privilege entailed responsibilitu a certain burden.
