I explained in my last post that the SPLC had its already created curriculum Teaching Tolerance ready to go for this school year and that the characteristics it wants to create dovetail to the UN agenda. Tuesday evening, Sept 5, there is a national conference call with teachers to push the agenda called "Difficult Conversations".

All of the serious creators of plans to use education to create a new kind of citizen at the supposed level of recreating human nature have written about the need to have and then build on what are called Moral Dialogues so that the student practices until it becomes a habit their "obligations to others" and to act on the social consensus.

Think of all this as an invisible revolution and it's not just happening in public schools.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Speaking of Google and other nefarious groups, I have noticed something odd about Twitter.

Normally I keep Twitter open in a separate tab so that I can check breaking news and links throughout the day.

Beginning the day before yesterday, first my AdBlock program disappeared, which DrJ kindly helped me by giving the AdBlock Plus suggestion, which I had installed.

Before that, sites with lots of annoying pop-ups and such, like Breitbart and Conservative Treehouse, were so laden with ads that I could hardly use them.

I thought having an ad removal program could help, so I thought the problem of my computer being overloaded and freezing up would be solved.

Now that the ad problem has been solved, I notice that if I am on Twitter very long that my computer freezes up. I have to go to it, quickly scan through current tweets, and then get off. If I stay there very long, things lock up and my only choice is to hit CTRL Alt Delete and restart.

Do you think it is possible they have flagged Trump supporters and have some sort of program to bollox up our computers? I realize this sounds like tinfoil hat paranoia, but I am way suspicious of the Silicon Valley guys.

On Harvey: I don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere or not, but everywhere I've watched on television news or read online, the experts called on (working and/or commenting how to get recovery rolling on infrastructure, refineries, pipelines, etc.) have been, on the most part, "old white men" -- the type of person mocked and vilified so often by today's media and pundits.

I love these dynamic men -- old, middle-aged, young, of any color and/or mixture -- that the feminists, left, SJW, have tried to mock and destroy during the absolute foolishness sweeping the left in this country.

squaredance

For those using Ad Blockers. You might also consider blocking tracking cookies. For those who do not know, these are software artifacts, generally not visible on the page, that firms place on pages to track your web traffic, generally for marketing analysis purposes. These are additional garbage added to your pages, and they send tracking data to marketers, often third party firms, that in turn sell you information. So Ad blockers will limit the ads and some tracking, but not necessarily the tracking cookies. Note that it is debatable if you can remove all tracking altogether, especially when you use mainstream browsers like Chrome, Safari, etc.

There are a growing number of products--I use Ghostery. but there are others
(Note: a lot of ad blocker providers are moving into this space too.)

Of course, all of this nonsense is a moving target, but this may help.

It will, BTW, effect some comment sections/widgets, but you can control that.

Me, I will not use a comment widget that tracks me, including FB.

Porch: As I said, it is very hard to know what is going on when you use mainstream browsers (Chrome, MS products, Safari, Firefox, etc.) I certainly do not trust their cookie blocking, which is why I use a third party blocker (that and the fact that they are better at tracking questionable cookies and updating their tools--the marketers are constantly finding way to insert these things in other artifacts.)

Of course, when someone owns the browser they have the potential to track you without cookies. I do have some machines where I have custom software to track, trace and limit any attempt to communicate over the internet, and certainly most firewalls have the ability to do this, but for daily consumer based usage it is hard to control this, stay on top of it, or keep the discipline up on a constant basis, and the scoundrels are alway pushing the envelope here.

The problem I have with some of the more (allegedly) secure browsers is in the area of performance and standard adherence (e.g., newer html/html5 standards, JScript standards, etc). I particularly find the javascript engines poor on some of these. So using secure browsers and some sort of VPN can help, but i do think ultimately the best you can hope for is some anonymity: there will still be some tracking that supports the bottom line of the offenders, and there will still be some that can identify you to some extent.

Naturally, most involved in creating web based software have no choice but to use the mainstream browsers as they have to run their code in them.

Truth is that our privacy laws have not caught up with the internet age. If firms like Google have their way, they never will. I think we are still a few years off from this becoming a broadly supported issue for us to see any action, and, of course, we would have to have cleared out a great many corrupt politicians to get it through.

Interestingly enough, though, this is an pretty bipartisan issue once you move to the rank and file.

Comey's alleged Clinton 'exoneration statement' calls Senate testimony into question

Fresh allegations that former FBI director James Comey began drafting an “exoneration statement” for Hillary Clinton well before interviewing her and other key witnesses have called into question his Senate testimony about why he decided to go public with his findings in the email case last summer.

...

Jay Sekulow, a member of Trump’s legal team and chief counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, suggested Comey’s June testimony could be in conflict with these new details.

“James Comey had the nerve to testify under oath that he had to come forward last July to make his statement because the [tarmac meeting] cast doubt on the scope and nature of the investigation,” he told Fox News’ “Hannity.” “The fact is, evidently, he already made up his mind three months before the investigation really got underway, so this whole thing was a fraud on the American people.”

Momto2

Sorry for the length but there was no way to link - someone wrote this on FB and I thought it was SO true!!!

Let this sink in for a minute.....Hundreds and hundreds of small boats pulled by countless pickups and SUVs from across the South are headed for Houston. Almost all of them driven by men. They're using their own property, sacrificing their own time, spending their own money, and risking their own lives for one reason: to help total strangers in desperate need.

Most of them are by themselves. Most are dressed like the redneck duck hunters and bass fisherman they are. Many are veterans. Most are wearing well-used gimme-hats, t-shirts, and jeans; and there's a preponderance of camo. Most are probably gun owners, and most probably voted for Trump.

These are the people the Left loves to hate, the ones Maddow mocks. The ones Maher and Olbermann just *know* they're so much better than.

These are The Quiet Ones. They don't wear masks and tear down statues. They don't, as a rule, march and demonstrate. And most have probably never been in a Whole Foods.

But they'll spend the next several days wading in cold, dirty water; dodging gators and water moccasins and fire ants; eating whatever meager rations are available; and sleeping wherever they can in dirty, damp clothes. Their reward is the tears and the hugs and the smiles from the terrified people they help. They'll deliver one boatload, and then go back for more.

When disaster strikes, it's what men do. Real men. Heroic men. American men. And then they'll knock back a few shots, or a few beers with like-minded men they've never met before, and talk about fish, or ten-point bucks, or the benefits of hollow-point ammo, or their F-150.

And the next time they hear someone talk about "the patriarchy", or "male privilege", they'll snort, turn off the TV and go to bed.

In the meantime, they'll likely be up again before dawn. To do it again. Until the helpless are rescued. And the work's done.

They're unlikely to be reimbursed. There won't be medals. They won't care. They're heroes. And it's what they do.
