“We undocumented youth demand a clean bill … We undocumented youth demand that you do not sell out our community and our values …We undocumented youth will not be a bargaining chip for Trump.”

After Russia, perhaps we will have 'Comprehensive Legislation To Keep Foreign Influence Out Of American Elections'

CNN:
When pressed repeatedly on whether Pelosi’s collaboration with Trump on DACA, which has angered left-wing activists, led to the anti-Pelosi protests, Democratic New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen suggested instead that Russia was to blame.

henry

be careful what you wish for.

common man

Shaheen is really that unhinged?

Captain Hate

Can she exit in a package deal with McCain?

What chutzpah these "Dreamers" have to DEMAND any goddamn thing from American citizens.

Bro just sent me a pic from the UN. He was off to the Presidents left as Mr Trump spoke. AMAZING.
He could have hit the President with a shoe!!
Great Pic, I'm going to send it to you Henry.

Miss M - Meathead can function without a "close family friend"?

I had horrible sore throats from childhood into my late thirties. Now I realize they were often in Sept-Oct--probably allergy related, or turning on the heat. Cardiologist warned me about strep when they found my prolapsed mitral valve 5 days before going to college.

Still get enlarged tonsils in spring and fall despite Claritin. One year before C they made it hard to breathe and swallow. Another they were covered in white spots. ENT said it was food stuck in them. TMI, but I wish they'd been taken out. My older siblings' were.

Captain Hate

Meathead has gone full retard by teaming with the fried butter king.

Frau Sprengstoff

My suggestion to the demanding illegals is that they take their accent marks, return home and stand in line to enter legally.

Yes, the reason they are here is because *our* government did not enforce our laws when it was necessary. Now, los pollos are coming home to roost.

daddy

Rush just played the clip of Comey denying under Oath that he has no information supporting Trump's tweets way back when, that Trump was wiretapped, and Comey then goes on to say he is also speaking for the Dept of Justice in saying that they also have no evidence whatever of Trump being wiretapped. If someone can find that Comey testimony and link it, please do.

"Silent Jeff" - give me a break.

If Trump wanted Sessions to be talking about this stuff, Sessions would be talking about it.

Trump is never going to telegraph his plans. That is not going to change no matter who is in the job. People need to get over it.

GUS

Oh Dear Lispy Graham on TEEEEVEEEEE!!!

He said DAMN, that's nearly as bad as BOOBS!!

So how can Comey know the Russians "hacked" the DNC, when Comey doesn't even know the FBI "hacked" Trump Tower?

Sebastian Gorka on FOX Busines to talk about Trump's UN speech and he has a big smile on his face as if he's proud of Trump! Nice to see him again.

So, CH, you've figured out that there's only so much "science" behind medical practices, I see.

My primary Doctor is so scatterbrained that she's called me two different wrong names in the same visit. She is very cute and has a strange ability to attract some smokin' hawt residents about which she somehow has the intuition of my willingness to advance their practical training as she fills out my charts, hopefully under my real name. I walk away feeling good so there's that.

It's hard to mispronounce DOUCHE BAG.

daddy

Trish: What do you tell those who feel somewhat deserted by some of those people including yourself that were there from the beginning?

Gorka: I just gave a speech literally an hour ago to a crowd here in Washington where I said "Look, take a deep breath, relax, count to 10. just because Steve (Bannon) and I left the building does not mean the original Agenda is in danger. We are far more capable on the outside in supporting the President..."

Trish: You liked the speech today?

Gorka: Oh yes. Look, he went into the Heart of Darkness today. This is the UN that was meant to provide Peace and Stability since...the end of WW2. And it's become a hive of duplicitous Globalism...there is no Nation that has suffered more from Double Standards than Israel, and when Netanyahu calls this the best speeches he's heard in 30 years you know it was a good speech...

anonamom

Nigel Farage write that UN speech??
Somebody at CTH thinks so.

Porchlight

It sure sounds like it, anonamom.

Just curious about the anti-Trump people on the right. Do they watch a speech like this one and find substantive ways to criticize it? Or do they snipe around the edges (style, wording, etc.)? Or do they ignore entirely?

jimmyk

I've already seen sniping about "Rocket Man." I guess they think Trump should act like a typical politician, and that would make him somehow more effective.

Dave (in MA)

When will the Meathead Commission be issuing its report?

maryrose

Still have my tonsils.
So we let Jimmyk suffer because oh gee maybe antibiotics are not the answer?
What is the correct answer?
Wait and see?
Someone I know has a doctor who missed his prostate cancer.
How does he hat happen?
Sorry Anonamom but it sometimes gets to be life and death.
However the Clinic did do right by my sister so there is that.

Barbara

So can Maverick McCain vote against his boyfriend Lindsay's NobamaCare plan?

That will be interesting to watch, daddy. Since McCain's "NO" vote on repeal, I've sensed Graham gradually distancing himself from his mentor/protector. Perhaps his constituents objected loudly after McCain's dramatic betrayal. We'll have to wait and see if that's true, but Graham may want to carve out a niche for himself now that McCain has shown he is willing to do anything to thwart President Trump's agenda.

SAN ANSELMO (KPIX) — There is a growing consensus at some Bay Area private high schools that letter grades A through F are outdated. Instead they want to create transcripts with details about each student’s achievements.

“The grading system is pretty broken,” says Kate Reeser, Director at San Domenico School in San Anselmo.

She and other administrators there are exploring a new school of thought when it comes to grading. They want to do away with the concept of letter grades entirely.

“It’s about gaming the system, students no longer care about learning the information it’s about getting the A,” says her Cecily Stock who heads the school.

... life is pretty hard when everybody gets an A

jimmyk

maryrose, what doesn't kill me makes me stronger. :)

Tonsils: growing up in the hills of Montana, we didn't have no stinkn' strep, we had croup! I was sick probably 3 - 4 times a year with the only remedy a sock infused with Vicks wrapped around my neck. And maybe BromoQuinine.

I had my tonsils removed on my 21st birthday, because I could sign my own release. Can count respiratory ailments on one hand in the subsequent 50 yrs.

Sadly, I am recovering from one right now. Apparently 12 days in a rectangular tube with 145 fellow travelers along with the bookended 10 hrs in cylindric tubes is more than Zycam and other efforts can overcome. Interestingly, the pax were all suffering, but the crew showed no symptoms.

David, Internet Deplorable

I thought Hillary's favorite author was Orwell, and she adored his novel 1984 whose central message was "Respect Authority."

WaPo's resident "conservative" Jen Rubin called Trump's speech "cringe-worthy." Maybe she meant "sponge-worthy."

Barbara

I had my tonsils out when I was six. They've since grown back although they are very small according to the doctor.

Starting in my thirties, I began having horrible sore throats every year. Antibiotics seemed to be the only way to treat them. After a number of years, I went through the cycle of taking antibiotics for two weeks with the sore throat returning two weeks after that.

Finally my doctor determined that the problem could be caused by allergies. I began taking over the counter medication for allergies, and have been able to manage without any more antibiotics. I always have that treatment available should I need it, but at least now I know how to cope and prevent a sore throat from becoming worse.

GUS

From an earlier link to Don Surber: But in a Fox News interview on March 13, former Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich gave credence to Trump’s claim.

“Kucinich told Bill O'Reilly Monday night that a phone call to his congressional office from a foreign leader was tapped in 2011. Kucinich said he listened to the recording after leaving office in 2015,” The Hill reported.

While Kucinich had no evidence of Trump’s claim, he told O’Reilly, “I heard a lot of people laughing about it, but I had something happen to me. If a member of Congress can have his phone tapped, this can happen to anybody.”

I'm interested in seeing if Kucinich will be invited on any Media Shows now to discuss this or if he will be blacklisted since he's now been proven correct?

There is a growing consensus at some Bay Area private high schools that letter grades A through F are outdated. Instead they want to create transcripts with details about each student’s achievements.

Know who else came up with this stupid idea 30 years back?

Evergreen College in Washington State.

In my year in Recruiting for Naval Officers I had to deal with applicants from the States of Alaska, Montana, Idaho, and Washington. The biggest pain in the ass College of the bunch was Evergreen since their grades, unlike everybody else, did not exist. You had to read some biography of the kid to try to figure out what he knew, so we wound up blowing off anybody from Evergreen who gave us a call. Not worth the hassle.

Neo

You have to remember that these are 'Bay Area private high schools', attended by the 'elite' of Silicon Valley. Something like 4 of the top 10 high schools in the US are in the area.
So, when I say when everybody gets an 'A', I mean it.

I remember when I was an undergrad .. my school decided to ad '+/-' grades (+0.3/-0.3) and of course, there were those who wanted an 'A+' (4.3 out of 4) because getting into med school is tough and you need every break you can get.

The same goes here. How do you pick from among those with cums of 4.3 out of 4 ?

Stephanie Nene Not your normal Grandma

I had my tonsils out when I was a frosh in college. Went to the infirmary with 102 temp and a few days later they wouldn't release me, so I called my parents had em check me out AMA and two days later was making passes at an orderly that had more than a passing resemblance to the Hoff on my way to the operating room.

I'd rather have another kid by natural childbirth. Hurt to breath in. Hurt to breath out. Decided not to breathe :) but my autonomous reflexes kicked in. A week later a friend talked me into hitting a bar and against my better judgment the bartender talking me into a shot of brandy. 15 minutes later the pain was gone and never came back. 1 shot and it cauterized it or something. But dayum it did the trick.

Daughter has no tonsils. Never did due to the cleft palate/no hard palate. She does have an additional "hole" in her throat due to a pherengial ??sp flap being tacked on after the initial surgeries to correct any speech impediments which usually resulted in at least one freaked out teacher a year alarmed that she had possibly injured herself.

daddy

WaPo's resident "conservative" Jen Rubin called Trump's speech "cringe-worthy."

I hope Sally Quinn has a seance with Ben Bradlee's ghost so we can find out what he thought of Trump's UN speech.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

One of the first classes I took when I went back to college was "Introduction to Education."

That class was the reason I changed my major to geology.

Right off the bat the professor announced that everyone would get a B. Not an A, but a B.

Second, we didn't have exams because he didn't believe in them. (Too lazy to grade them, plus why have exams if everyone is getting a B>)

Third, he LOVED the alternative school up in Carmel where the kids were taught to play poker, were allowed to cuss, and generally behaved like heathens.

Fourth, he lied and said there were plenty of jobs in teaching, when I KNEW there weren't. My mother was a Dean of Women at a small private college and was struggling to place education major graduates. Several of her graduates had to move out to Indian reservations in the west or accept jobs in New York City. My son was 4 and I was married and couldn't relocate.

That talk about everyone getting an A triggered a memory in me.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

She has Pierre Robin Syndrome, too. We were lucky. She had no palate or adenoids at all but all the palate skin was there. One surgery to close at 10 mos and a tune up with the flap at 2 years. She never needed the speech therapist once the flap was done. And of course the orthodonture! Yikes expensive. No other issues from the PR but lovely long fingers. No heart issues either.

The little girl across the street from us also had a cleft but hers was only a pea sized opening. Same doctors, tons of therapy, and she still sounds like a palate baby.

So weird how the worse palate had the better outcome.

I'm interested in seeing if Kucinich will be invited on any Media Shows now to discuss this or if he will be blacklisted since he's now been proven correct?

After his party stabbed him in the back to protect their faves like my illiterate bitch representative, he appeared once on the panel of Rupert's Sunday Infotainment Hour and was outstanding. He was particularly outraged with how the IRS was obviously targeting conservative groups, even as a liberal, and said heads should roll.

Obviously Top Men weren't happy with that performance because he wasn't invited back. Offending the Uniparty has consequences.

For JOM Team Legal, here's a question. If this was a perfect world and you were able as Special Counsel to conduct an Investigation of this entire Trump Wiretapping/Russia Collusion scandal, what actually would you want to find out? I'd love to see your answers, in bullet-points or checklist form, so that I'd have an idea of what we are seeing and what we need to see but aren't.

Would thing's like which specific agents were listening In to the wiretaps be a part of that? What precisely they heard and who they passed it on to? How did it reach Hillary's ears? Which FISA Judges authorized the wiretaps and at who's requests?

Just general stuff like that.

it strike me that the average guy out here---carpenter, plumber, baker, whatever, has the common sense to know who should be investigated and for what, but I'd like to know if the common sense non-Lawyer is missing things that you professional Prosecutors would be specifically looking for.

And I'd also like to make the point that when James Comey came out with that Bullshit theory that Hillary couldn't be indicted because her violations of Law required specific intent of the perp to actually violate the Law, what he was doing was intentionally laying the groundwork for his own self defense in the event that the S*** hit the fan.

Good afternoon! I listened to Trump's speech in the car in between doing errands this morning. After my errands,I switched from the news channel to classic crock (h/t CH) and the song Rocket Man was playing! I LOL'ed.
I missed the tonsil conversation. My brother (2 years younger) and I had them removed at the same time. The doctor promised us that we'd be in pediatrics with the other kids, but when we were scheduled, pediatrics was full. So,we had to share a room on one of the floors full of old people. This was in a Catholic hospital. The nuns were so impressed with our good behavior that they gave us each a silver dollar when we were discharged.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

jimmyk,

I agree. My choices would include Thomas Wictor and 0Hour.

0Hour finds all sorts of stuff. Wictor does as well, plus he is better at explaining it.

I just am convinced that the entire Russia thing was a frame-up that Trump's people didn't bite on. The fake dossier, the wiretaps, and the set-up meeting with Don Jr. all point to that.

Someone in the intelligence community knows who organized this. I wish that person would come forward.

It must be human nature because whether they use letters, numbers, or colors of the rainbow kids want to know what their grade is and what it means. Part of it may be innate competition, but I believe that students want to know how well they are doing. They'll always figure it out.

It's a mistake to discourage this natural tendency. Students should be challenged and perform best when they know that someone is paying attention. They need standards as well. All this touchy feely, don't use letter grades or heaven forbid correct papers using a red pencil or ink pen (my favorite) is a bunch of malarkey. How are students going to know what's important unless you highlight it for them? You don't have the time to sit down with each student and go over every assignment with him.

One more thing. This need to know how you're doing carries over into adult years. Whenever work was forwarded to me for review, I used to write some encouraging comment on it in RED ink. I suppose it was the old teacher in me. I found out later on that the staff always looked forward to seeing what I wrote. It gave them direction and a sense of approval. Not a bad thing after all.
