Dems show true colors for all to see by turning this tragedy into a political hitjob and lying about it.
Despicable is the right word along with unconscionable.
Nasty and unfeeling.

daddy

For convenience here's the meat of the General's comments again. My transcript.

Kelly: ...I was stunned when I came to work yesterday, and brokenhearted, at what I saw a Member of Congress doing. A member of Congress who listened in on a phone call from the President of the United States to a young wife. And in his way he tried to express that opinion, that he's a brave man, a fallen hero. He knew what he was getting himself into, because he enlisted. There's no reason to enlist, he enlisted. And he was where he wanted to be, exactly where he wanted to be, with exactly the people he wanted to be with when his life was taken. That was the message. The message that was transmitted. It stuns me that a Member of Congress would have listened in on that conversation. Absolutely stuns me! And I thought at least that was Sacred. You know when I was a kid growing up a lot of things were Sacred in our country. Women were Sacred and looked upon with great honor. That's obviously not the case anymore as we see from recent cases. Life, the dignity of Life was Sacred. That's gone. Religion---That seems to be gone as well. Gold Star Families---I think that left in the Convention over the summer. But I just thought the selfless devotion that brings a man or a woman to die on the battlefield, I just thought that that might be Sacred. And when I listened to this woman and what she was saying, and what she was doing on TV, the only thing I could do to collect my thoughts was to go and walk among the finest men and women on this earth. (His face breaks down again) And you can always find them because they are in Arlington National Cemetery, And I went over there for an hour and a half, walked among their stones, some of whom I put there, because they were doing what I told them to do when they were killed. I'll end with this. In April of 2015, I was still on Active Duty, I went to the dedication of the new FBI Field Office in Miami, and it was dedicated to 2 men who were killed in a firefight in Miami against drug traffickers in 1986. Guy by the name of Grogan, and Duke. Grogan almost retired, 53 years old, Duke I think less than a year on the job. Anyways, they got in a gunfight and they were killed. Three other FBI Agents were there and they were wounded, now retired. So we go down, Jim Comey did an absolutely brilliant memorial speech to those fallen men, and to all of the men and women of the FBI who serve our country so well, and Law Enforcement so well. There were family members there. Some of the children that were there were only 3 or 4 years old when their dads were killed on that street in Miami Dade. Three of the men that survived the fight were there and gave a rendition of how brave those men were and how they gave their lives. And a Congress Woman stood up and in a long tradition of empty barrels making the most noise, stood up there amid all of that and talked about how she was instrumental in getting the funding for that building. How she took care of her constituents because she got the money and how she just called up President Obama and on that phone call he gave the money, the $20 Million to build the building. And she sat down. And we were stunned. Stunned, that she had done it. Even for someone that is that empty of a barrel we were stunned. But you know, none of us went to the press and criticized. None of us stood up and were appalled. We just said OK, fine. So I still hope that as you write your stories, and I appeal to America, lets not let this last thing that may be held Sacred in our society, a young man or young woman going out and giving his or her life for our country, lets try to somehow keep that Sacred. But it eroded a great deal yesterday by the selfish behavior of a member of Congress.

I remember reading the book 'Iberia' by Michener. He wrote that in Spain that the worst thing you could say about a man was that he was 'sin pundonor' without honor. That congresswoman is the worst sort of person.

You were expecting honesty from the Congressional Black Caucus? Shame on you then. Who can forget the claim that they were subjective horrible invective and abuse when they walked down Pennsylvania Ave, Yet no one could produce a recording capturing any of that despite Breitbart offering something like $100,000 for anyone producing such a tape.

If someone would have tried to convince me that after 8 years of a black President, that race relations would be way worse in this country, I would have laughed out loud and in their face. The joke unfortunately would have been on me.

daddy,

Yes, indeed. There was George Bush prattling about globalism and how we need to quit being racists, accompanied by Madeline Albright (who can forget HER sterling performance in North Korea?) and then this afternoon we had General Kelly, who spoke with the dignity of a REAL statesman.

All you need to know about President Trump is the caliber of the people who work with him.

By the way, I guess McCain was yelling in the Senate today about how President Trump needs to explain why those troops were in Niger.

The mission in Niger was ordered by President Obama and has gone on for over 3 years.

Tasteless CNN Debases Itself by Blasting Kelly for Emotional WH Remarks

DebinGA

Trump made an off-hand remark awhile back that BOzo didn't call KIA family members, and qualified it with a "at least that's what I've been told. I don't know for sure" type thing. WaPo tried a gotcha but proved Trump right - they found no record of BOzo making condolence calls. WaPo then noted BOzo didn't use an "autopen" to sign as Trump suggested. But given BOzo's scrawly sig he could turn out 20+ a minute.

Extraneus
Right off the bat, CNN Political Director David Chalian noted that “it's hard to listen to a father tell that story and not have sympathy” before declaring that Kelly’s emotions must be separated “from the White House chief of staff going into the press briefing room to clearly try and attempt to clean up a political mess that, quite frankly, his boss largely created.”

“[B]ecause John Kelly wouldn't be part of this story and wouldn't feel the need to go to the press and address this and we wouldn't have a ton of questions if it were not for his boss who injected him into this entire episode this week,” Chalian added.

That dick Gen. Kirby makes a bonus appearance.

daddy

In a letter sent Wednesday to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Grassley said such an NDA would “appear to improperly prevent the individual from making critical, good faith disclosures to Congress of potential wrongdoing.”

He asked for a copy of the NDA by Nov. 1 and requested that, should one exist, “you release him from it and pledge not to engage in any form of retaliation against him for good faith communications with Congress.”

On the presumption that one does indeed exist how long in a reasonable world should it take for a copy of that to be dug up produced to a US Senator? 2 work days maximum?

Well he's giving them 2 weeks.

Any bets?

I am happy to see Trump wading into the Uranium 1 corruption. From any other President I would be begging them not to weigh in, due to the possible Legal problems that usual emerge when a President makes any comments in the Public sphere about some Legal case, but in this case, because of the entire dishonesty and corruption by all involved, I'd rather have his Bully Pulpit slamming the corruption at Volume 11 so that even the Media can't ignore it.

Michael (fpa P4F)

Sounds to me like the Dems/progs are trying to turn the deaths of the four Special Forces members in Niger into Pres. Trump's own version of the 'Benghazi' scandal.

First, they got Rep. Frederica Wilson to criticize Pres. Trump's call to the fallen soldier's mother, then asked AG Sessions about the Niger ambush at the Judiciary Committee hearing.

Now they are asking about the ambush and the deaths at the daily press briefing, and are using the same line of questions as were used in questions about Benghazi.

And not to be outdone, guess what . . . ? ? ?

Good 'ol 'Maverick' McCain joined the party to lash out at Pres. Trump and the Army for the deaths of the four soldiers in Niger, too.
Now he has taken to the floor of the Senate to demand that he (and the American people) be given answers about our mission in Africa, and how the four soldiers could have been killed.

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/cortneyobrien/2017/10/19/mccain-threatens-subpoena-to-get-niger-information-from-trump-admin-n2397522

Hard to understand how the chairman/senior member of the Senate Armed Forces Committee doesn't know that AFRICOM reportedly has more than 10,000 sailors and soldiers deployed across Africa.

Two interesting pieces on the African missions can be found here:

http://www.businessinsider.com/niger-us-troops-in-africa-2017-10

I don't expect the Dems to let up on this until they've milked every possible bit of negative coverage out of their attacks.

Well what has CNN gotten right lately when trying to read the tea leaves? Certainly not the 16 election.

So I will say that they just reinforce my feeling that General Kelly eloquently owned the dunce Wilson. If she had any real class, she would apologize but we all know that will not happen. Maybe she can put some ice on it, because that welt is going to swell...

daddy

Buck Sexton on his radio show this second is very slowly and deliberately going thru the Kelly comments, and Sexton says Kelly was in the room when Trump was making the phone calls to that soldier's widow. I can't swear if that's true but if so, no wonder Kelly was so stunned.

How much info on troop deployments did the Awans sell to ISiS? Do they still have a back door into 40+ Dem office systems (including Rep Wilson and many on sensitive committees)? Moments ago on CNN via Ext's 06:01:

Kirby: “I was a bit quite frankly with all respect put off by him and Secretary Mattis today criticizing the media coverage of this somewhat. Two, three, 12 days later. Where were they 12 days ago or yesterday and the day before...We're only doing this — they're only doing this now because it got to the boiling point it was and that's just poor communications and poor, I think, in my mind, poor political situational awareness...

if they just had been a little more forthcoming about what they were doing in Africa what happened to this young man and if the President hadn't not in himself — so political.”

“I mean, he turned — he turned what should a solemn duty for any commander in chief, regardless of your political stipe, he turned into a competition with his predecessor. He turned it into a publicity stunt.”

maryrose

On catch-up I just got to this American Thinker column: Political correctness craziness: US Air Farce edition

What with all this Sexual Harassment crap currently ongoing, my guess is that the Left will immediately misappropriate it to try to continue to neuter our Military. I am standing by for the Sexual harassment attacks to come out against Mattis and Kelly. So for refresher for newbies here, back about 1988-1989 timeframe I was part of the designated Air Crew flying DACOWITS, (The Defense Advisory Council On Women In the Service) around the world to Military bases to hunt for Sexual Harassment. I know for a fact that women in the Navy at our base in Subic Bay Philippines, Officers and Enlisted, were ordered to go to a meeting in the Base Movie Theater to listen to the speeches of these DACOWITS women we dragged around, and then they had to fill out 3 incidents of Sexual harassment from their personal experience in the service and turn that in before they could leave the building. That's what my female troops on the plane told me they experienced since they had to go to the meeting.

That kind of crap has been ongoing now for easily 30 years. Me personally, I was not impressed with the DACOWITS members that I was hauling around, nor were my troops. Not all were awful, but the majority were of the mindset that would vote for that Congresswoman from Florida in the cowboy hat.

These entail risk. People get killed. It's the nature of the job.

We have a serious problem with a transnational ISIS affiliated terrorist network that operates in Chad, Niger, Nigeria, Mali, and Mauretania.

Now that ISIS is being routed in Syria/Iraq, I think we will see more of them escaping to the ungodly deserts and scrub forests of West Africa.
