HOly moly

Ralph L

Next he'll claim brain damage from cocaine.

maryrose

Hey where are the kudos for Ryan getting the tax and jobs bill passed today?
All I hear are crickets.
Some even suggested they didn’t want to pass it.
Well the House and our fearless leader Ryan have done it.

Tom Bowler

Love the Franken pictures you posted at the end of the last thread. You are funny. :}

Ralph L

Favreau was probably tipsy. Nice friend he had to make the photo public.

Tom Bowler

That last was addressed to Porchlight. Sorry for the omission.

Beasts of England

Still waiting on the individual appropriations bills myself.

Racial equity obligations also include all those illegal immigrants. Advice on how to "frame" it.

RalphL:
That actually might be true about a Franken.
Marijuana for sure has killed some of his brain cells.
Karma is coming back to haunt him after stealing that Senate seat from Coleman.
I say have the Repubs run Tim Pawlenty and see if he can win against Klobuchar or Franken or the sub they put in.
Had anyone asked McCaskill or Stabenow or Heitkamp what they think of their colleague Franken ‘s abuse of women?
Have you ever seen Franken’ s wife?

Threadkiller

Apparently Hannity touched himself, in private, to that photo.

He saw this pic in 2008 during Franken's election run and said nothing but for Roy Moore he has demands that contain deadlines because he is a stalwart of the mistreated.

I really loathe that dipshit.

Threadkiller

It was a shitty bill, maryrose, so I have no plans on applauding Razzle Dazzle.

henry

From last thread...

Sue, the Consumer Financial Protection Board was Senator Warren's idea (so she could run it and impose her twisted priorities on everything that touches money or consumers). It does not need Congressional authorization for its budget. It nominally is independent of the President (by law he can't fire the head, Supreme Court ruling pending). The CFPB head is a law to itself, no board or accountability of any kind. It creates regulations on things like what you can invest in in your retirement account. Not is the perfect Obama / prog land mine for the future.

The head, Richard Cordray (a prog asshole commie bastard) just retired early.

Trump responded by appointing the CFPB's biggest critic (OMB Chief Mulvaney) as interim head of CFPB. Mulvaney can do whatever he wants. Congress can't do shit. Warren created all this power, now her worst enemy wields it.

This is awesome!

henry

Maryrose, until it gets passed by the senate, and clears reconciliation, it is just the start of the usual three card Monty. They same process that got a budget (we don't have a budget) and repealed Obamacare (which is still in full force). I'll congratulate people when something is signed into law. Not before.

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

I think the most disgusting thing I've seen this week was a claim by some lying prog that somebody faked the blue ink on that phony yearbook inscription and represented a fake picture in which the blue ink was changed to black as the genuine image.

Oh, who am I kidding? In any week that pictures of that bespectacled, smirking, cement headed shitbird Al Franken are featured he will always be the most disgusting thing I've seen.

Sue,

The other senator was Chris Dodd. He retired in 2011.

To a castle in Ireland,

maryrose

Henry:
Many here on this blog thought the House wouldn’t pass a bill before Thanksgiving.
You were on of them I believe, along with MM.
Pelosi and Reid probably paid out most of the hush money to abused and harassed staffers. As to Ryan and McConnell absolute facts not available.
TK:
I was right and you were wrong wrt the tax bill.
We said a tax bill not whether it was good or bad.
I like the bill so I am pleased with this result.

maryrose

MessNBC is talking about Kushner withholding evidence.
Fox Business is talking about Franken.

Threadkiller

What was I wrong about, maryrose?

maryrose

One Republican congressman says Hillary doesn’t get a pass from prosecution just because she lost an election.
That is like giving her immunity.

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

Thinkprogress fairly convincingly claims Moore and Allred's accuser never crossed paths in her '99 case because it was dismissed before any hearing was held.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

maryrose,

I am willing to give the House credit where credit is do, and they did pass the bill today and sounded quite enthusiastic about it. I was pleasantly sirprised. (You do have to admit we've had the football pulled away from us a lot.)

Getting it through the Senate will be a trick and we may have to count on dems who are up for reelection, like Joe Donelly in my state.

By my count we are doubtful of getting the votes of Flake, McCain, Corker, and possibly Murkowski and Collins. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

maryrose

Ryan being ineffective in the House.

Captain Hate

The libs on Facebook I'm "friends" with are calling for Franken to step down to show that he's better than Clarence Thomas and Drumpf. Good luck with that happening.

maryrose

AB Stoddard giving Franken a pass for harassment because he apologized.

Porchlight

Thanks, Tom Bowler! Many more of those to come, I'm sure. :)

Here's an oldie but a goodie:

“'I give the pills to Lesley Stahl. Then when Lesley is passed out, I take her to the closet and rape her.' Or ‘That’s why you never see Lesley until February.' Or, ‘When she passes out. I put her in various positions and take pictures of her,’” Franken was quoted saying.

The article, along with a 2000 Playboy column in which Franken talked about fantasizing a machine would perform oral sex on him, was used to attack Franken during his 2008 Senate campaign in Minnesota. Republican women also gathered to demand Franken explain himself, according to the Pioneer Press.

Franken eventually apologized for his crude remarks, but he later wrote in his book, “Al Franken: Giant of the Senate,” that he faked the apology to get the necessary support for his election win, according to the New York Times.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/11/16/al-franken-joked-about-raping-leslie-stahl-in-1995-new-york-magazine-article.html

I take back all the nice things I said about Minnesota.

 narcisoyea

If I were Jared i wouldn't give them anything, from holder to lerner to red queen they have perfected the stonewall.

Porchlight

Thinkprogress fairly convincingly claims Moore and Allred's accuser never crossed paths in her '99 case because it was dismissed before any hearing was held.

Thank you ThinkProgress, for cementing a motive.

maryrose

I think Corker will vote for it as well as Murkowski.
McCain is a wild card as is Collins.

Porchlight

Although shouldn't court records show whether they were in the same courtroom together at some point?

Allred wouldn't answer that question when Blitzer asked her last night.

Captain Hate

Kudos to Flake for his grandstanding to focus a light on his dipshit son's social media utterances. I'm starting to get the idea that these Latter Day Saints pols are, what's the phrase I'm looking for.....oh yeah, pretty fucking dumb.

glenda

Trying to catch up....but MM

Your post late on last thread @ Steve Mostyn suicide??? This is a sadness of course, for his family...but the repercussions of this could be massive. The Mostyn law firm--is a deep democrat (and pretend conservative republicans) front for political hits. Mostyn and George Soros are inseparable. This is "Pelican Brief" type work.
Some here always questioned why I would never support Cruz...well--investigating Mostyn's client interactions WILL reveal why.
Mostyn makes Perkins-Coie seem angelic and honest.

maryrose

Porch:
Allred and her crybaby client are lying.
I hope Moore sued the pants off both of them.

Captain Hate

I take back all the nice things I said about Minnesota.

Welcome to the Dark Side, Porch; we've got great craft beer, especially Imperial Stouts and Porters.

Threadkiller

Ohhh...

Would you believe that I never asserted that, maryrose?

You should.

Captain Hate

Glenda, every recent thing I've heard about Cruz has made me think that I was played by him previously. That doesn't make me happy.

maryrose

Molly Hemingway says kudos to Paul Ryan for getting this done.

g;enda,

Thank you so much for that valuable information!

I had never heard of them, but Larry Schweikart on Twitter pointed it out, and I have known Larry since my Free Republic days, so I went looking for the story.

I read the whole thing but didn't realize the real significance other than he was a big donor.

Thanks!

maryrose

Golly gee TK,
I didn’t know you were a Paul Ryan supporter.
Welcome to my club of one.

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

--Thank you ThinkProgress, for cementing a motive.--

Not sure what you mean by that but the woman is the one who dismissed the case because she and her husband were trying to reconcile.

--Although shouldn't court records show whether they were in the same courtroom together at some point?--

The records indicate some other judge handled the case until it was ready for a hearing whereupon it was assigned to Moore. Before that hearing occurred she dismissed it and she never appeared before him because there was no hearing to appear at.

Doesn't explain the obvious yearbook forgery but does pretty much refute a claim by Moore's attorney they met after the alleged incident.

Threadkiller

I'm not. I hate his guts.

I just never said what you claim I said.

Another Bob

For those familiar with Jeff Goldstein's situation with the lunatic stalker, she failed to appear at a hearing and has started harassing Goldstein again.

henry

Molly Hemingway doesn't sign House bills into law. Two more steps before that can happen. Need a Senate bill (yeah, they've passed nothing), then each chamber has to pass whatever cockup is in the reconciliation. If Trump signs it instead of vetoing it, then you can celebrate an accomplishment. The rest is mere participation trophy "accomplishment." Even if the bill is signed into law, I reserve the right to condemn those who passed and signed it if it sucks.

glenda

Captain..the hypocritical establishment is flailing. The routine " lying, cheating, disgusting" reality of the power-hold in media/politics is crumbling.

Someone is throwing a lot of people under the bus, NOT to clean out the trash....but to control the fallout !!

GUS

Henry, I got the GIG, that I had told you about.
I start when I get home from hunting on Tuesday.

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

The most important thing this congress could do would be to explicitly and demonstratively and with malice aforethought strip the damned Fed of its "dual mandate" which is mutually exclusive to begin with.
Fed Hints During Next Recession It Will Roll Out Income Targeting, NIRP
The dumb bastards have slowly but surely painted themselves and consequently us into an inescapable corner as they have tried to "cure" every succeeding recession with stupider and stupider policies and have done nothing but distort the economy, produce and enable vast new sums of debt and blow up ever larger asset bubbles.
They're killing the goose that lays the golden eggs while giving the guys who already have most of the golden eggs more free ones.

These bright boys are barely capable of maintaining a stable currency. What imbeciles ever thought they could maximize employment without a disaster, even while not chewing gum?

maryrose

I agree.

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

Not sure what the record is but the story at Breitbart first noting Franken's furtive tongue has ~51,000 comments.

henry

Expecting a different result from the same players / process that has failed so far is at odds with sanity. Naïveté on my part will cost jobs, of my employees. Investment cannot depend on wishful thinking. I am hopeful but must base plans on likely outcomes.

Clarice Feldman

Henry, that turnabout is glorious.

 narcisoyea

God grief they need to reopen alcatraz for that twit.

henry

Clarice, Mulvaney can do one hell of a lot of good in a short time in that spot. Sadly, whoever follows him can go Cordray too. But for now, a big swamp draining win.

 narcisoyea

Interesting talal pere was one of free princes that wanted to bring passers nationalization to the kingdom.

Clarice Feldman

Of course, if Moore was the judge who signed the dismissal oder by his clerk "Delvar or Debra or Dilbert Adams--it still explains how that dimwit liar got the signature she copied in her yearbook.

Clarice Feldman

Henry, I do think the SCOTUS will find it unconstitutional or the Congress will repeal the law creating it.

 narcisoyea

Wonder which officials those are:

mary rose -I can give Ryan kudos for getting the tax bill passed but you go way too far in calling him fearless. Fearless would have been standing up for Trump when the Billy Bush tapes came out. Ryan did th exact opposite. I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive him for that.

Texas Liberty Gal

Trump is smart taking this position - Let the voters of Alabama decide Moore's fate,

https://hotair.com/archives/2017/11/16/white-house-trump-troubled-accusations-moore-believes-alabama-voters-decide/

GUS

TLG, I agree. I've known Ryan for about 10 years, he has really disappointed me. Maybe he can redeem himself. I believe he's a good dude for the most part.

Clarice Feldman

Smooches, henry. Exactly.Imagine his first order is people can invest their money any way they choose to.

Sue

Dodd. Thanks y’all. I think JW should do a FOIA for records on the payouts.

Porchlight

Iggy, sounds convincing, but Moore and his attorneys have a better knowledge of the divorce proceedings than ThinkProgress.

GUS

Here is an interesting question!!! If PAYOFFS errrrrrr PAYOUTS for SEXUAL MISCONDUCT were made, WHY DIDN'T THE MFM REPORT WHO WHAT and WHERE?

Sue

I haven’t paid attention to the Moore story enough to comment but I’m going to anyway. ::grin::

The woman who claims she had Moore banned from her mall was 20. He asked her out. She rejected him. He continued to show up at her store. Was friendly to her. She found him creepy. He didn’t touch her. She was of age. WTH did he do to deserve being banned? If he was?

Miss Marple the Deplorable

GUS,

Because Congress has kept the names secret.

And that right there is enough for me to demand that leadership be held accountable.

Sue

The only kept secret in Washington?

Davod

Sue.

The manager of the mall says he never banned Moore.

http://thegatewaypundit.com/2017/11/todays-fakenews-update-former-gadsden-alabama-mall-manager-roy-moore-not-banned-mall-video/

 narcisoyea

It want they has to put all that frosting, to make it look suspicious, the manager of the mall rebutted the charged.

Sue

Maybe because he didn’t do anything.?

GUS

He must have done sumpting Sue. The MFM is TURGID.

matt, deplore me if you must

"I deserve good things, I am entitled to my share of happiness. I refuse to beat myself up. I am an attractive person. I am fun to be with."

Al Franken as Stuart Smalley

GUS

Davod, Roy Moore D.A. WAS BANNED from the mall.

I read it on the internet.

Davod

GUS. The internet. Or, the internets.

Sue

She implied he was there because only kids hung out there. No evidence. I want some women in Alabama to start telling stories on the democrat. He can’t be clean.

henry

Sue, the Dem (Jones?) ran a campaign ad featuring Confederate soldiers. As posted on Twitter. But nobody seems to care.

GUS

1977, Mary Jo Kopechne was dead for 8 years by then. Yes she "passed away" in July of 1969.

 narcisoyea

And the put the wrong man in prison for the Olympics bombing, instead of Eric rudolph

Sue

Surely republicans can find someone to call him creepy.

 narcisoyea

But he did watch the first game with an interracial match and convicted Tibet chamblisd, so George will had a trapper keeper for him.

 narcisoyea

Robert chambliss, they based a character in the chamber on him.

GUS

I still find it bizarre that sane people still don't understand the DEMOCRAT PARTY.
It's codependent filth ...top to bottom.
Are we to believe that intelligent educated adults, do not recognize FILTH, such as RODHAM, MAXINE WATERS, the HAT LADY from FLORIDA, and HANK JOHNSON??? Alan Greyson, now there is a QUALITY peep!! He TOO a HARVARD MAN!!

who knows

Sue

Good grief. 25 in 2007?

jimmyk

Good grief. 25 in 2007?

The year the Dems took over Congress. Coincidence? I think not.

Porchlight

Not excusing this, but are all the payments related to harassment by sitting members? Wondering if they include staff.

GUS

Sue and Clarice, it's PIGFORD. Sue and Settle, PROBLEM GONE O.P.M.

Drain the swamp.
