Come on. The dude's a twerp. He's not physically subduing resisting women.

daddy

Just a thought based on nothing but human nature, but people being the miserable weak critters we are, especially when not grounded by a strong faith and often times motivated by very strong passions, it struck me that these creeps like "Dirty Cop" Strzok and his girl friend texting back and forth to each other had to know how corrupt what they were doing was, and they also they had to know how corrupt it would look if it got out and the public found out about it.

Yet they recklessly did the texts anyway.

That said, it would not surprise me if in their unbelievably reckless exchanged E-Mails they probably somewhere along the line actually said to each other something like, “You know, if anyone ever found out about what we're doing against Trump, we’d spend the rest of our lives in prison.”--- something like that.

It makes me think that a plausible reason the FBI is fighting so damn hard to keep these E-Mails sifted, redacted, and secret, and won't hand them over to Nunes and the Congress, even in the face of contempt charges, is because that's exactly what they do say in them.

a bit from the Powerline link -

"11. A law enforcement source writes to observe that the Inspector General would not be able to access the private text message communications of an FBI official as senior and prominent as Strzok unless he had good cause to do so. What was this cause?

12. He adds: “Reviewing an agent’s private text messages is not an investigative action which is entered into lightly unless the situation is serious. I cannot think of a situation where you would find the IG’s office looking at your private text messages unless you, or someone you were communicating with, is in big, big trouble. There is something very, very shady going on here with the IG’s investigation of Strzok….why the IG was investigating him in the first place is much more interesting.”"

Justice Department officials are reading through "over 10,000 texts" between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.

Department of Justice officials said they are in the process of going through the texts so they can hand them over to the House Intelligence Committee.

Justice Department officials say the process of reading and redacting the texts could take "weeks," and that the thousands of text messages between Strzok and Page span over "several months."
==============================

1. Ten THOUSAND text messages? I assume that's 5 thousand each. Quite a bit of texting there, if you ask me.

2. Assume each text message is a paragraph (even though a lot are probably things like "LOL" of "Me,too." How in the world could reviewing these take several weeks? Is the FBI full of people reading at 3rd grade level?

All you have to do is print out the text messages and have someone go through them for any classified or sensitive information. I assume these dim bulbs didn't put any actual classified stuff on those phones.

This is another stalling tactic while they try to figure out how to avoid revealing how compromised the FBI is.

henry

10,000 texts between two people over several months. Easy math, two of them, assume five months you get 1000 texts per month. That's roughly 33 texts apiece each day for months. Are these people 12 year olds?

In my Sophomore summer when I was doing that Archeological dig at Beersheba, almost every Friday afternoon when the dig shut down for the weekend I'd ride into Jerusalem via car or Bus, rent for a couple bucks a rooftop in the old City on one of those old sort of 1 or 2 story stucco houses to lay my sleeping bag down on, and sleep under the stars with the sounds of that fascinating city all around me. Cool as the dickens. Got to know the markets and back alleys well, and would meet various Prof's at locations around the city for fun walking lectures of the history and architecture. Wouldn't trade that experience for the world and hope everyone has a chance to visit King David's City once in their lifetime.

Reading the AG's John Doe report, they found a stash of secret John Doe III files (never public before):

collected hundreds of thousands of private emails from dozens of Wisconsin Republicans (and at least two national conservative leaders, Ed Gillespie and Leonard Leo). In searching for the leaked documents and the leaker, DOJ investigators found over 500,000 of these John Doe III emails in the basement of the former GAB in two unsecured boxes labeled “Shane Falk.” Moreover, for reasons that perhaps may never be fully explained, GAB obtained and then held thousands of private emails from Wisconsin Republicans in several folders on their servers marked “Opposition Research.”

Miss Marple the Deplorable

daddy,

What a wonderful experience! No wonder you're interested in archaeology!

My interest comes from a few artifacts my mother owned, gifts from the lady she boarded with while attending Butler University, Anna Hasselman, who served as the curator of John Herron (eventually the Indianapolis Museum of Art) from the 1930's until 1952.

Here is who she was:

https://fineestateart.com/artists/anna_hasselman

Her friends included Booth Tarkington, the Vonegut family, the Lilly family, and other big names in Indianapolis. She never married.

Miss Hasselman had traveled all over the world acquiring items for the museum, and in the process bought things for herself. She gave my mother a small Egyptian scarab, a carved soapstone Chinese teapot, and some other things. I still have the teapot. The rest of the items were distributed to my sisters.

The scarab fascinated me as a little girl, and I started reading about archaeology. I have done so ever since. That's why I post articles about new discoveries and am pleased that there is someone else here on JOM who finds it as interesting as I do.

Martha McCallum asked Gowdy if he had any info on this new whistleblower leak about Gen Flynn on Inauguration Day texting some Russians saying something like we were going to do the "Nuclear Option."

Can someone explain what the "Nuclear Option" is supposedly that Gen Flynn allegedly said Trump would do, and then can you also tell me if Trump actually carried through and did whatever this whistleblower said Gen Flynn said would take place. I am most interested in the second part of the question---Did Trump do the act?

If Strzok and his lover sent 10K emails to each other, how exactly did the DOJ get access to them? If they used their personal phones to send the texts then shouldn’t that require a search warrant to gain access to their personal communications? That would mean at least one of them was suspected of commit a crime.

The other alternative I can think of is that they used government issued Blackberry devices to send the texts. In that case any communications they had (voice, text, internet usage, or email) was subject to monitoring by the government.

If it’s the latter, I wonder if pro-Trump federal employees in the NSA are actively monitoring the communications of all federal employees to identify all the anti-Trump Swamp creatures?

Beasts of England

We're those texts generated on government-issued devices? Maybe we can get Stroker Ace interviewed by the FBI. How many text did you send her? 5,882. No, sorry - it's 5,903. We'll have you a plea deal in the morning.

Just heard this from an Alternate Juror in the Kate Steinle Murder trial in San Fran. No transcript, just my memory as he was talking.

He said for the case to render guilty of Manslaughter it had to fulfill 2 elements, the first being some crime like the possession of a weapon, and the second being the act of discharging the weapon in a reckless manner that a reasonable human would know might cause grievous harm---something close to that.

He says the Prosecutor dicked up the element. He said the Prosecutor used the word “Brandishing” a firearm in regards to the first criminal element, but he said the Prosecutor only used that word "Brandishing" as a criminal charge for the first time during closing arguments. In the 5 weeks of the trial up to that point the Prosecutor had never used the word "Brandishing" and there had been no evidence presented of any kind in the previous 5 weeks that the killer actually was "brandishing" the firearm. The Juror said they were constrained to consider the 1st criminal element by the use of the "Brandishing" charge, since that was the charge the Prosecutor made for the 1st criminal element. He said if the Prosecutor had used a different criminal charge, such as illegally "possession" of the firearm, the jury could have agreed with that charge, but since the Prosecutor used the word "Brandishing" and there was zero evidence of brandishing, the Juror's easily and quickly found the killer innocent of that charge so the Manslaughter charge collapsed.

The Alternate Juror was a very well spoken and sharp young man who acquitted himself well. If we can believe him, it sounds to me like a gross screw-up on the part of the Prosecutor.

We were wearing the Arab headdresses to keep out the sun, and one of the white garbed bedouin guides leading the camels reached into the sand and pulled up some small carved stone King Tut's casket image, about 6 inches long, swore it was an amazing discovery just made, and would my Dad like to buy the priceless artifact (made yesterday in Muhammed's Gift shop) so Dad did and I have cherished that knockoff for 50 years now as as valuable an item I have in the entire world, since it turned me into an archeology nut:)
