Usually any restrictions put on televising the Masters come from Augusta National. They can be very prickish about making sure people know who runs things, including once banning Jack Whitaker for comparing the speed of the greens to a bikini wax.

Miss Marple,

Maybe you should just call Williamson a 'cuck' instead of liberal.

"Cucks” are the bane of the conservative movement. They are the purists … the elites. They are members 9f Conservatism, Inc. They work for publications like National Review, the Weekly (Sub?) Standard and Washington Free Beacon, which are usually bankrolled by conservative elitist billionaires or they serve as House Republicans/Conservatives for liberal publications."

"Social Justice Warriors have been trying to get Kevin Williamson fired from his just-started job at the meaningless dribble publication The Atlantic — a magazine much admired by the cucks — because he has previously tweeted that women who get abortions should maybe be hanged.

"The Atlantic just fired him. They said they’d found a podcast appearance where Williamson repeated that tweet, and that they now believed this wasn’t just a provocative joke but his “carefully considered” opinion.

"It seems it was just yesterday that The Weekly Standard, which you should totally obey because they’re smart guys who really “get” the current political environment, were blowing air-kisses to the liberal print media and claiming charges that it was without integrity were “deeply unserious.”

"What will they say now? If they now denounce the leftist print media as totalitarian, that would establish two things:

1, They’re wrong about everything all the time.

Which we already knew. Worse, it would establish:

2, They don’t care about the left’s totalitarian attacks on speech and belief until it gets someone in their own class.

"I despise these cucks for this reason: Many of these people scoff at the notion that the leftwing is out for scalps. They are out to get people fired. They are out to ruin lives. They stand for the proposition that You shall repeat our cult dogmas or we will work as hard as possible to deny you the ability to even earn a living plying your trade in Current Year America.

"Yet these cucks continue to engage in apologism for the left, claiming that only “paranoids” believe this about their Very Good Leftist Cocktail Party Friends."

Here is the very Best Jello Salad Ever

(and yes, carbs do kill. We're all going to die, right??)

1 3 oz lime jello
50 miniature marshmallows
1 20 oz can crushed pineapple, with juice

Heat over low heat in saucepan til marshmallows melt.
Cool thoroughly.

Whip
1 c whipping cream

Blend with cooled lime jello mixture.

Optional--add 15 oz cottage cheese.

Chill.

YUM!!

Yes, anonamom, sounds good to me. :)

When I was making a lot of Jello salads, I used to dream up variations. I loved Wild Strawberry and Wild Cherry Jello mixed with whipped cream. Think they quit making both of the "Wilds." Used to make layers of Wild Cherry and Wild Cherry mixed with whipped cream. :) Had a recipe for a strawberry pie that was a baked pie crust filled with fresh strawberries, and then covered with a mixture of 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, 3 T. Wild Strawberry Jello, 3 T. cornstarch cooked till thick, cooled and poured over berries.Really pretty good. There's another recipe where you don't use the Jello, probably for the real gourmets. :)

Jack is Back!

We are back in Southampton, watching the Masters for the first time since no TV in Belgium because once the FIL left they turned it off. Great flight, fantastic food for an airline, but them it was catered by the top female chef in Belgium.

On the subject of mayonaisse, DeVos Lemon of Belgium is probably the finest mayonaisse I have had. Dukes here in the States comes close but no cigar. It is actually made according to the original recipe. It is an "aioli" unlike the mayo's here. From time to time, we make our own mayo if we are having Steak Frites. Of course, it is all a matter of taste but if you have not had French or Belgium mayonaisse made to the original recipe, what can I say.

sbw

JiB, loved frites met mayo in NL. So different than what passes for mayo in the US.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

The Scottish part of my family came here after the Bonnie Prince Charlie uprising, having lost their lands for participating in the rebellion and getting out of Dodge before heads were removed. They settled in the North Carolina highlands and then moved up to Indiana after the Civil War.

And in Indiana my grandmother of Scottish descent met and married my grandfather, son of Danish immigrants.

I always blame my bloodline for my failure at fencing in college. I was paired with a really annoying guy who kept trash-talking me, until I snapped and the blood of Vikings and Highlanders lept to the fore, and I wielded that foil like it was a claymore, whipping him severely on his shoulders and back.

I got a D in fencing, but it is one of my fondest memories of life on the Bloomington campus.

The Obama administration invoked executive privilege, attorney-client and deliberative process over these documents and insisted that their release would negatively impact global financial markets. But in finally unsealing some of these materials last week, a federal judge named Margaret Sweeney said the government's sole motivation was avoiding embarrassment.

"Instead of harm to the Nation resulting from disclosure, the only 'harm' presented is the potential for criticism," Sweeney wrote. "The court will not condone the misuse of a protective order as a shield to insulate public officials from criticism in the way they execute their public duties."*

28. If, and this is a big “if”, there are actually two versions, the consequences are astronomical. Almost immediately Loretta Lynch, Sally Yates, James Comey and Andrew McCabe would be indicted.

How does this make sense? If there were two versions, Horowitz, Huber, Wray, Rosenstein and possibly the judge would already know about it.

Who would indict these people just because the news they already knew, and finally allowed others to see, has leaked?

Tom R

Trump’s tweets attacking the DOJ/FBI for not turning over unredacted info to the Judiciary committee confirms to me everything Trump, Sessions, Nunes and Goodlatte has said about this over the past week is Kabuki theater. The sequence and timing of events have been planned all along. Trump’s tweets today come after the DOJ telling Congress yesterday that everyone on the House Intel Committee can come view all the unredacted documemts at the DOJ SCIF. Knowing full well that Schiff and Swalwell will leak anything to the leftwing media, allowing them to see the information means Trump and Sessions are ready for the information to be made public. If the Democrats don’t leak the info, it will come out shortly in the Horowitz IG report.

There is no reason for the DOJ to allow the House Intel committee to view the information but not allowing the Judiciary committee. The DOJ missing the deadline to give this same information to the Judiciary committee along with Trump’s recent tweets IMO are nothing more than creating headlines to generate public interest for when the FISA abuse information is made public.

Was this the big news breaking this weekend that Chitown lurker was hinting about?

Ralph L

Why would DoJ let HPSCI see them but not Judiciary?

Ralph L

clarice feldman

Ext--I agree, that was a fanciful conjecture on his part.

Tom R

He is certainly giving us a heads up. How did the Clinton emails get into this? I didn't know they were included in the request.

The Horowitz IG investigation was originally supposed to focus on the FBI’s handling of the Hillary private email server investigation. Strzok was involved with that investigation. My guess is Horowitz got Strzok’s emails and text messages as part of the Hillary email investigation, discovered evidence of widespread corruption involving Strzok, which caused the IG investigation to expand to a much wider scope to include the FISA abuse scandal.

I think the Trump tweet is a signal from Trump that the Horowitz IG report is going to be released very soon and it will cover everything.

I am so far behind, but I thought the issue was that Nunes was not getting them but Goodlatte was getting them. I could be wrong, and I usually am:)

Extraneus

Not sure why the NY Post chose to run this AP story.

Embattled EPA chief fights for his job in Trump meeting

WASHINGTON — Environmental Protection Agency administrator Scott Pruitt has met with President Donald Trump to make his case for why he should remain in his post amid a stream of questions about his ethical standing.

Pruitt visited the White House Friday to discuss his agency’s recent steps to roll back Obama-era fuel efficiency standards for cars. But administration officials say he also fought for his job in his meeting with the president.

While some White House aides are increasingly fed up with Pruitt and chief of staff John Kelly has advocated firing him, Trump remains less certain. Pruitt is one of the most effective members of his Cabinet in undermining his predecessor’s regulatory agenda, and Trump enjoys his hard-charging style.

Tom R

How does this make sense? If there were two versions, Horowitz, Huber, Wray, Rosenstein and possibly the judge would already know about it.

Who would indict these people just because the news they already knew, and finally allowed others to see, has leaked?

Congress does not know yet whether there was one or two FISA request packets. If there are two versions then I think the implication is that numerous senior officials in the Obama administration intentionally falsified the FISA request in order to spy on Carter Page which also means they could spy on Trump.

Like I and others have speculated about, one reason the DOJ hasn’t given Congress this info on FISA abuse yet is because it is evidence that will be used in a criminal trial. For all we know Horowitz/Huber have sealed indictments of multiple Obama officials ready to unseal.

Reading Joan's link to a Liberty Unyielding story I came upon the mention of Bill Priestup's wife being as incestuous as all the rest in being heavily linked/associated to Hillary and groups supporting Hillary. ..."As with so many of the players in our drama, it turns out that it matters who Priestap’s wife is. He is married to Sabina Menschel, the daughter of Richard Menschel, one of the Menschel brothers of Goldman Sachs who have famously contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to all of Hillary Clinton’s campaigns, as well as high-profile Democratic PACs....

That reminded me of Rod Rosenstein's wife being likewise involved with Team Clinton since about the late 1990's.

For a lark I started wondering who else has spouses heavily supporting Hillary.

Obviously McCabe, via his candidate wife.

For Strzok we get this: Peter Strzok’s Wife and Government Attorney Wipes Her Facebook Page of All Evidence of Hillary Cheerleading

Lias Page's Mom and Dad, obviously. and herself, but not enough info on her cucked husband.

Obviously both Ohr's.

I suppose I could go on all day doing this, but is there anyone in DC in this whole sordid affair who's spouse is not somehow involved in supporting Hillary?

Who is Huber's wife?
Who is IG Horowitz's wife?
Who is Mueller's wife?

I have to go get an oil change but i wouldn't be surprised if there were more incestuous links among many more of the players.

BTW, training is successfully done with for another 6 months. What a relief to have my mind free again, but 800 comments looks daunting. Hold the mayo.

Here's the link from the previous thread about grilling with mayonnaise. The science looks sound and someday grilling weather will return to MN and I will attempt to independently verify the findings. I love it when they talk science;

"And where oil only heats and browns the food thermally, mayonnaise is able to brown food chemically — that golden-brown color — through what is known as the Maillard reaction. The Maillard reaction requires sugars and proteins to work; as these are heated, the nonenzymatic reaction produces browning."

Half dead’: a town in rural Ireland

Daddy, I hate to interfere with a great rant as much as anyone, but i'm afraid I have to.Rosenstein's wife is (was?) a member of a small firm with a very specialized (one might say arcane) practice--defending against FOIA requests. It's not exactly substantive. On fact, it would be like saying the lawyer who registered title on their house "represented her". Here's another thing--who is involved in FOIA matters? Govt agencies and officers. In recent years.who were those?

There may be lots of serious conflicts with spouses in this--Phr, for example, but I don't see Rosendtein's wife in that category.

Miss Marple the Deplorable

Speaking of scoundrels in the family, I had a great-great uncle who was involved in a lynching down in Corydon, the old state capital, and had to flee the state on his very fast horse.

He made it in time for the Oklahoma Land Rush and with his fast horse staked out a portion of downtown Tulsa. (Proving that there is no justice in this world.) Made a boatload of money.

Came back to visit my mom and grandmother in the early 50's, when he was pretty old. He got my mom to take us to the State Fair to see the livestock barns.

Dressed in a white suit with a Panama hat and a huge handlebar mustache, he would introduce himself by poking people in the chest with his cane and say "Louis XXXX, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Who the hell are you?"

My mom was mortified. LOL! All I remember was the white suit, as I was only a little taller than his knee.
