Bunky is now Savotage!!!

Yo

Bunky is now Savotage!!!

It’s like Republican senators are relieved they lose again. Looking fir a way to lose.

Extraneus
Given the stature of the position and the seriousness of the charge...

You lost me there, TM. I disagree that the charge is serious.

Sue

Maybe Kavanaugh didn't realize he needed an alibi witness for something that didn't occur?

Dazed And Confused

"and the seriousness of the charge"

Let's pretend her 35 year old story is true, so fully clothed, drunk teens at a party is now a crime? We are going to need a lot more prisons. Probably easier to turn all junior high and high schools into penitentiaries.

Old Lurker

Sue, I think he HAD an alibi witness (Judge) who does not recall it ever happening?

Sue

OL,

Yeah, and Tom thinks that's suspicious because they are still friends.

Jane

I posted this on the last thread - warning!

Jane

My guess as to what is going on.

Ms Ford has been in a meltdown since the election of 2016, taking it out on her students, and everyone else in her orbit.

When Kavanaugh was nominated she remembered that he was in the boys school nearby, and that his bitch of a mother dared to foreclose on her parent's home.

She and her psych brain put a lot of thought into this. She figured out a way to get payback against Kavanaugh's horrid mother, and hurt Trump at the same time. Brett was simply a necessary bi-product.

But how would it work? Suddenly she recalled an incident involving 4 boys at a party. She had forgotten their names, but it would work perfectly. Was Kavanaugh at that party? Well kids from his school were so that was close enough.

She and her liberal friends ran the plot over in their minds. One contacted her sort of friend ,DiFI. The letter was written and sent in July.

DiFI went over it with Schumer. She had 2 goals. Get reelected and hurt Trump. Timing was important. Schumer decided that the delay would both slow down the process and help DiFI in her re-election campaign. He also promised she would run the intelligence community to make sure there was no fall-out from getting caught with a chinese spy.

Both knew the republicans would fall, like they always do.
The end

Beasts of England
'Kavanaugh is in line for a lifetime appointment. Given the stature of the position and the seriousness of the charge, if the case against him weighed in at, e.g., 40% probability, that might be reasonable grounds to move him aside.'

Seriousness of the charge? Wow.

So he's presumed to be only 60% innocent? Wow again...

Might be reasonable? Hat trick!!

James D.

TM, this is your site, and we all love you.

But, seriously, what the hell?

Why on Earth do you grant any of this crap the slightest consideration? It's all bullshit, from word one.

If you take every word of the story as the absolute truth, we have a drunken 17 year old high schooler trying to get it on with a drunken 15 year old high schooler at a house party, and he ended up not getting it on with her, and she went home without a scratch or any other injury on her.

That's if you take it all as the Gospel truth. And you think that's something that should be debated in the United States effing Senate? You think that should be the deciding factor for a Supreme Court seat?

That, BACK IN 1982, a 17 year old had a few beers, and failed to have sex with a 15 year old who'd also had a few beers?

Really?

I'm sorry, but this is just crap. It's a crap sandwich, with crap sauce and crap dressing, on crap toast, with a side of crap. And I cannot believe that any adult with an IQ above room temperature is falling for it.

Old Lurker

I hear you, Sue "Yeah, and Tom thinks that's suspicious because they are still friends."

And since he is probably still friends with some of those 65 women who partied in the same school circles that Kav did then one must be suspicious of them too.

Crimeny.

Captain Hate

The focus should be on McConnell moving forward. He's done a good job moving on Trump's judicial picks over the summer and I hope still has ways to get people to fall in line. Just because Flake and Corker are lame ducks doesn't mean Mitch doesn't have other ways to keep them from going Mavericky. This will probably define Mitch's legacy.

Beasts of England

Didn't report it to the police.
Didn't report it to her counselor at school.
Didn't tell her parents.
Didn't tell her friends.
Didn't make any contemporaneous notes.

Other than that...

Jack is Back!

Has anyone ever known a psycho-therapist who isn't more than half-a-bubble off? I am smelling a rat, and if Grassley with DiFi has agreed to a telephone interview in lieu of a full committee hearing means to me that the Dems do not want her to testify under oath and be questioned by the Republicans.

That tells that there is a lot more to this story. Kav has probably talked extensively about this to Grassley and staff. Can't wait for the leaks.

Jack is Back!

jane,

Didn't see your comment before I posted my 1:12 but it is exactly how I see it.

daddy

It seems to me that every picture I have seen of Kavanaugh since this smear broke is a picture intentionally chosen to show him confused, tongue-tied, worried, rattled and befuddled---to show him as a grimacing, unhappy man who should not be believed and does not deserve the benefit of the doubt of being believed.

Well even that frosts me, so once again here is my favorite Kavanaugh picture from the Hearings:

and
the right-click version

Kavanaugh deserves to be treated decently and to have pictures showing the many hundreds if not thousands of women and young girls who love and admire him and who he's gone to bat for for the last 35 years. Just because this scab of of Professor has come out with this orchestrated lie shouldn't change any of that.

I hate the Media.

I also suggest that from here on out every mention of Senator Flake is of Senator "N1ggerkiller" Flake. Let him deal with that deserved smear. Make that asshole explain why his teenage son was talking like that and where he got it from. If "N1ggerkiller" Flake is comfortable helping the Dem's destroy families, his own family shouldn't be immune.

Thomas Collins
"I think the question of his high school drinking might merit some Senate follow-up.

Did I miss something? What evidence is there in the background checks to which Judge Kavanaugh has been subject that he couldn't control his drinking in high school? As to the fact that he may have imbibed in high school, so what? Most of us did, I suspect.

Beasts of England

If Grassley interviews this person then it needs to be in person and under oath - under penalty of perjury. And if when she perjures herself, she should be prosecuted and sentenced to the maximum allowed by law.

daddy

'Kavanaugh is in line for a lifetime appointment. Given the stature of the position and the seriousness of the charge, if the case against him weighed in at, e.g., 40% probability, that might be reasonable grounds to move him aside.'

So is TM telling us that Clarence Thomas should not have been appointed because there's a 40% chance there was a pubic hair on the coke can?

C'mon.

jimmyk

Jane, I agree with your take except for the part about the meltdown since the election. I think her nuttiness precedes the election. For example, those professor ratings and comments (if they're actually referring to her) date from 2014.

maryrose

JIB:
I hope and pray you are right.
TM:
I believe you are falling for the Dem line of BS.
JamesD:
You have have it absolutely correct.

Miss Marple (the real one)

daddy,

I am right there with you.

And much as I respect our host, I give ZERO credence to David French's opinion. That sanctimonious windbag thinks that anyone who doeson't have a reputation as spotless as Jesus of Nazareth's is to be measured and found wanting.

Because we all know what Americans want are a bunch of elected officials who lecture them about morality at every turn.

I go with Omni Ceren's comment this moring, in that this will measure whether the Left has taken over all institutions so that they feel like they can destroy a decent man without repercussions.

Not as far as I am concerned. I want DiFi arrested for espionage, so I am adding that to my list.

PDinDetroit

Could this be the beginning of the end of the #MeToo movement or possibly the final nail in it's coffin? Uncorroborated allegations from 35 years ago while 17 and in High School possibly put a Primary Function of Government in jeopardy?

It is time for a #Enough movement, covering #MeToo and #LIEberalsForImpeachment movements. Point out the lies and fantasies and miscarriages of justice, making sure that people involved never live down their involvement nor hold office above that of dog catcher. The (D)'s knew about this since the beginning of Summer, had enough time to scrub "she who must be believed" social media posts, never brought up this up until thought that it may strip off Yes votes or delay the confirmation process. Subversion, yes it is and speaks volumes about those involved. Will Jackie the "cat-fisher" be there to support Mrs. Ford? Sheesh!

Full disclosure: I was sexually assaulted at age 5, so I would qualify for #MeToo but have no need to ever go after those who perpetrated the evil. I have been accused of Sexual Assault at age 24, which was completely refuted by me taking a lie detector test and detectives finding out that this girl had done this before. It was a False accusation of #MeToo, one that could have ruined my life.

I have never been a Liberal or Democrat and now identify as Libertarian.

Extraneus

Well even that frosts me, so once again here is my favorite Kavanaugh picture from the Hearings:

And all those cute girls, and Kavanaugh's daughters, are now provided with the image of their coach and father laying on top of a girl and trying to force her clothes off.

F'n left deserves to [redacted].

Miss Marple (the real one)

This is the Daily Mail reporter, who has been following this pretty closely. Link goes to a screen cap of Grassley's statement.

The plot thickens a bit. Chuck Grassley says Dianne Feinstein has refused to schedule phone calls with Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser Christine Ford. And he slaps her for sitting on the allegation for 6 weeks. pic.twitter.com/fKnt5ZujY6

Remember what I have said all along.
Any person can say anything about anyone.
With male teachers/ never close your office door.
As a counselor at a coed school didn’t close the door completely.
Jane:
I think your scenario is the true one.
There is an active evil in some Dems and their thirst for power is so great that there is no conscience holding them back.
Why these are the people representing us is alarming.
We need to actively investigate all Dems via reporter or other means to find the skeletons in their closets and reveal all.
Declassify, declassify Declassify...
Before it is too late!

daddy

Help---Where's the link from last night about this whole thing was probably dreamed up back in 2012 when the betting was that Mitt Romney might win and his first choice would be Kavanaugh? I can't find it, but that makes more sense to me than this gal dreaming this scheme up in 2016.

lurkersusie

Last paragraph sums this up perfectly.

Democrats Have Ensured Brett Kavanaugh Will Never Get A Fair Hearing

And if the GOP surrenders to this cynical ploy (unless new credible evidence emerges about Kavanaugh), they will be creating a precedent that says every and any unsubstantiated accusation, no matter how old it is, against a Republican should be disqualifying.

http://thefederalist.com/2018/09/17/democrats-have-ensured-brett-kavanaugh-will-never-get-a-fair-hearing/#.W5_cA7HRpv0.twitter

Yeah Jimmy, I agree she's always been an asshole. I don't know if people become assholes when they study psychology or assholes like to study psychology. It's nutjob central IMO.

James D.

I think the question of his high school drinking might merit some Senate follow-up.

Really?

That's the new standard to disqualify someone from high office? Underage drinking?

How many member of Congress can we throw out on that basis?

Can we retroactively impeach Obama because of his bragging about the Choomwagon?

Come on, TM, you're better than this!

maryrose

Blasey cannot keep her lies straight which is why she initially wanted to remain anonymous.
It is so like the Jackie Rolling Stone mess.
Feinstein knows she will fall apart with Grassley questioning her so she is refusing to cooperate .
I want the Trump administration to investigate Feinstein and her Chinese spy.
I want the financial kickbacks revealed.
Time to fight fire with fire.

jimmyk

It is time for a #Enough movement

I like that, PD. Or maybe #EnoughAlready.

maryrose

I warned back when no one would defend Roy Moore that this tactic would be used again because it works.
Some Repubs folded after the Access Hollywood tape.
True justice will be denied if we allow this slander to take down our nominee.Cant go wobbly now.

maryrose

Jimmyk:
I agree.

James D.

A lot of us warned about that, maryrose. And we were all exactly right.

Beasts of England

That's the kicker isn't it, Extraneus. And it won't be long until the spawn of some insane progtard screams at his daughters telling them that their father is a rapist.

Jack is Back!

I prefer #Basta since it the crazy left-anarchist movement slogan. We should always be ready to appropriate all of their words and actions and turn them back on them.

daddy

Here's an updated version of Janet's Link last night about this thing possibly being schemed up back in 2012 and why:

Bookworm: Is the accusation against Kavanaugh the culmination of a set-up from 2012? *UPDATED*

... 2012 was another election year.

In 2012, Romney ran against Obama. Up until his 47% gaffe, Romney was doing well. He actually had a shot of winning...

...I’ll save you a click to The New Yorker website. The article, which The New Yorker published in 2012, is a Jeffrey Toobin analysis about Bret Kavanaugh and the threat he would pose should he get on the Supreme Court. According to Toobin, Kavanaugh was a scary conservative who, if he got on the Court, might overturn Obamacare...

Tobin's last paragraph:

If a Republican, any Republican, wins in November, his most likely first nominee to the Supreme Court will be Brett Kavanaugh.

Jane

I especially liked Menedez horror and concern. Maybe he thinks HS kids should be saved for him. What a joke the left is.

James I think TM's point was when you are in HS and drinking things can get away from you fast.

Captain Hate

I have never been a Liberal or Democrat and now identify as Libertarian.

Ugh, pot smokers and Luap Nor. I'm going with the MAGA party.

James D.

Maybe, Jane, but then he should have made that clearer.

And my question still stands: how is stupid but non-criminal behavior that left no one injured and caused no damages, remotely relevant in any way to a Senate confirmation hearing THIRTY SIX YEARS LATER?

Captain Hate

I'd prefer to regard Kavanaugh as untainted by the RINO stench of Romney.

daddy

And if when she perjures herself, she should be prosecuted and sentenced to the maximum allowed by law.

In general, if you are a therapist taking notes from a patient discussing an attempted gang rape, how often does the Therapist get it wrong and transcribe the number 4 for the number of assailants when the actual number stated by the victim is supposedly 2 assailants? Lets get the Therapist under Oath while we're getting the smear merchant under Oath.

Buford Gooch

Doesn't anyone else think it suspicious, if this happened at all, that Judge jumped on top of the two of them during an attempted rape and that allowed her to get away? If he was watching the action without interfering, why would he suddenly just jump on top of both of them, unless it was to help Kavanaugh? Since it allowed her to get away, it is unlikely that Judge was trying to assist a rape. More likely that it was hijinks, and he thought jumping on both of them would be funny.

Tom Maguire
...drunk teens at a party is now a crime?

He's not going to jail. The question is whether he is going to the Supreme Court.

Miss Marple (the real one)

daddy,

ChiTown surmises also that the push for all of those documents was because they had something buried in there which they could use for an "AHA" moment without dragging Feinstein in. I still think they have other stuff planted there because of Sue alerting us to them suing the national Archives.

If the democrats worked half as hard on helping the country as they do on all of their crooked schemes, we would be a better nation.

Jane

I bet Kavanaugh was not at that party.

 joan

Ha! Just saw this. Hugh Hewitt thinks Flake is a fair minded guy. :)

https://twitter.com/hughhewitt/status/1041659437952499712

Jackie Childs

Mr. Maguire, please show us on this doll exactly where Bret touched you. You may use both sides if necessary.

Janet 🚬

((If Grassley interviews this person then it needs to be in person and under oath - under penalty of perjury. And if when she perjures herself, she should be prosecuted and sentenced to the maximum allowed by law.))

Exactly. Just like this lady - https://pix11.com/2018/09/15/woman-fabricates-story-that-teens-yell-trump-2016-leave-hateful-note-on-car-police/

"Extensive investigation revealed Lewis fabricated the story and no such altercation took place.
Lewis admitted she wrote the note and placed it on her car, said officials.
She was taken into custody and faces charges of making a false punishable written statement."

centralcal

Couple of updates - the Christine Ford who had the bad student reviews is not the same Christine Ford who is accusing Kavanaugh.

Also, Kavanaugh’s mother (a Judge) did not preside over the Blasey family house foreclosure, she only signed the final papers of disposition.

Tom Maguire

Wait, I'm suspicious of Judge because he and Kavanaugh might be friends?

I think he is less credible if they have been friends for thirty years. How are we even arguing this? Surely I am not alone in thinking I would lie for the best man from my wedding long before I would lie for a guy who sat next to me in US History that I haven't seen in thirty years.

There is no way that is just an Irish thing.

jimmyk

He's not going to jail. The question is whether he is going to the Supreme Court.

By any reasonable standard, e.g. sanity, it DIDN'T HAPPEN. That doesn't mean it didn't happen in the same sense that Martians haven't landed in Central Park, but it didn't happen in any sense relevant to the decision about his fitness for the court.

Buford Gooch

I read the letter. It said that the party was her and four other people. She has also said there were four boys there. so, she was the only female? That seems odd.

Janet 🚬

from a FB friend - "The GOP threw Judge Roy Moore under the bus when Moore was similarly accused falsely. Roy Moore would have been a solid vote for Kavanaugh and a strong supporter of the MAGA agenda. I wonder what he is thinking today."

SO true.

Momto2

Things are very up in the air as to what is going to happen. This sounds like Kavanaugh is demanding a public hearing:

Wired Sources

@WiredSources

JUST IN: SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh speaks out after Democrats roll out 11th-hour accusation by left-wing activist, says he will 'refute' completely false allegations at public hearing

And someone said they doubted his mother presided over the foreclosure hearing. Here is a link to the court docket.

https://twitter.com/WiredSources/status/1041674476935630849

PDinDetroit

CH - after dealing with (R) and (D) on RKBA, I have found them just 2 sides of a bad penny (Heads I win, tails you lose). It is a given that (D) are the dirtiest side, but many Republicans simply pay lip service to RKBA issues and do precious little to repeal Government infringements. I still vote (R) as they are least likely to take away RKBA but I do not identify as such.

There are many like me who are Libertarians because of this one issue who are nowhere near to what you claim then to be. Some may think it short-sighted, but to me this one issue is the single most important one. This is not to say that that other issues are not important, but RKBA is to be fought for most of all.

daddy

And why the hell are we letting creepy f***s like Chuck Schumer or Joe Biden be America's go to Judge's of Character?

Sue

Tom,

You find him less credible because they are friends. I don’t.

James D.

He's not going to jail. The question is whether he is going to the Supreme Court.

If stupid (non criminal behavior that resulted in no injuries or damages) drunken behavior at age 17 is a disqualifier for the Supreme Court, should it be a disqualifier for President or the Senate, too?

I would guess that every President for the last 60 years, with the possible exception of Jimmy Carter, would be disqualified on that basis.

I would also guess that the vast majority of Senators would be equally disqualified from office if that's the test we want to use now.

If that's what you're saying, TM, I I'm OK with it, as long as we actually can throw out all those Senators (and most Congressmen, too), and stop paying for the pensions and Secret Service protection etc for all those past Presidents.

I'll happily trade Kavanaugh's nomination for that.

Extraneus

We have strayed quite far from the presumption of innocence, and are now deep into Salem witch trial territory.

Why are girls and women more believable than boys or men? Don't they lie and make up tall stories at least as often?

Momto2

Where did the 40% accurate come from? I see NO basis for that whatsoever!

sbw

At a high school party, a drunk girl made unsolicited, unwanted advances, pawing and trying to kiss me. Fortunately, I turned aside before she blew lunch on the floor. Haven’t thought of it since then. Sometimes stories are different than girls remember them.

Extraneus

Where did the 40% accurate come from?

Did he float or sink?

daddy

Here's that moron Hugh Hewitt:

What's that word Frau knows about a face that deserves a fist in it?

Buford Gooch

SBW, exactly.

Beasts of England

Don't worry, James D. - if the left and the NeverTrumpers get their way, Middle School will be the next, but not final, frontier.

daddy

Surely I am not alone in thinking I would lie for the best man from my wedding long before I would lie for a guy who sat next to me in US History that I haven't seen in thirty years.

Just for beginners TM, Janet nor Iggy nor Clarice would lie for either, nor would I.

Miss Marple (the real one)

Extraneus,

I believe this idea is a leftover from the olden days when women were careful of their reputations, didn't want to be thought "damaged goods", and didn't speak about sexual things in public.

The feminists have conveniently used that old tradition while pushing for sexual liberation. As someone pointed out, not only will this gal not be shamed by her cohorts, she will be regarded as a heroine.
So the idea that she should automatically be believed is BS as far as I am concerned.

Captain Hate

PD,

I certainly appreciate your defense of a constitutional right which neither major political is willing to expend much effort to prevent chipping away at. And I'm sure that sane Libertarians of good faith have been unfairly maligned by the Ronulan horde of free pot for all claiming to be Libertarians during their online spamming.

Uma Thurmond's Feet

"ON the other hand, it is deeply troubling to think we will reward Sen. Feinstein for this cheap political stunt, which showed contempt for the confirmation process, her Senate colleagues, and the public."

We're also rewarding The Washington Post, which was told about this in July the same time as the good senator from California, but chose to let it die in darkness until the trap was sprung.

Old Lurker

High School Drinking bears further investigation?

Okey Doke. When we are done with the Boys from Prep since say 1980, let's include the boys from Landon and St. Albans too. Wonder how many Senate Confirmations that would reopen? Then we can move on to the girls at their sister schools. Finally, don't forget the co-ed Sidwell and the Catholic Schools.

Golly this could be fun.

To make it easy, let's use the DC Social Directory to narrow down the names.

maryrose

TM:
You broke the falseness of the Duke Lacrosse story am I right about that?
You need to treat this the same way.
SBW:
Yes and yes they can and will make up stories to protect themselves and their reputations.
At my 50th reunion, one classmate said how glad she had boys.
Said some of the stories her sons would tell about mean girls spreading rumors and falsehoods were appalling.

hrtshpdbox

...if the case against him weighed in at, e.g., 40% probability, that might be reasonable grounds to move him aside.

I look at it a little differently than TM does. I think that if we knew the "case against him" was true, with 100% certainty, that it would still be criminal to move him aside.

Meaning that, since it's probably not true anyway, it's absurd to even discuss it. Republicans should listen to whatever nonsense this dopey liberal spouts, nod solemnly, then vote without exception for Cavanaugh to assume his rightful spot on the court.

If they do this nonsense on national TV than their had better be some protesters on our side, dammit.

hrtshpdbox

"there had better", not "their had better", ouch.

Captain Hate

Hugh Hewitt thinks Flake is a fair minded guy. :)

He must really love that MSNBC gig. Anyone want to defend that phony blowhard?

hrtshpdbox

"then there had better", not "than". Losing brain cells at an alarming rate.

Tom Maguire
Just for beginners TM, Janet nor Iggy nor Clarice would lie for either, nor would I.

Fair enough.

As to the 40% standard, it was just as an example. The 'preponderance of evidence" standard is set at 50.1% (approx.)

For dramatic illustration, if there was a 49% chance that Kavanaugh had killed five people and gotten away with it I doubt French would stick to his preponderance of evidence standard.

Captain Hate

Not to pile on, box, but it's Kavanaugh.

The Infamous Ignatz

--When I did that I almost always promptly apologized to the person.--

I apologized to you if you were not implying those who aren't discouraged aren't sane, but I don't know if you were or weren't because you have never addressed the point.

-- You never used to go ad hominem with such a hair trigger. As your target of choice for several months now, I don't find it attractive one little bit.--

Ad hominem? My original comment was a notation that you seemed to be saying if Kavanaugh is attacked you'll be discouraged and sit things out, since the context was whether the right would be generally mad as hell or discouraged by the smear of Kavanaugh. Addressing the argument you made about your response to his attempted lynching is not an ad hominem argument even if I was a smart ass about it.
Questioning the sanity of those who are not discouraged is quite a bit closer to it and I still don't know if that was your intention.

Either way, OL, I apologize for being a smart ass, regardless of your implications.
Other's pessimism has a way of needling me more than it should, perhaps because I can easily fall into it too if I let myself.

Join me in Las Vegas, Nevada at 7:00pm for a MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY! Tickets: https://www.donaldjtrump.com/rallies/nv-sept-2018/

It's Thursday, September 20. He didn't put that in the Tweet but I got it off where you sign up for tickets.

Good. I would much rather watch a rally than hurricane coverage.

OMG, LOL, don't you hate when you get so distracted with the profusion of errors in something you read that you can't even follow what the writer is talking about? I probably need a good lie down; there's a 40% probability I should be pushed off a cliff.

The Infamous Ignatz

My prediction; Kavanaugh fights this like a tiger and refuses to back down and the crazy broad either fades away silently or tries to brazen it out and gets humiliated for a fairly obvious lie.

memory" from 35 years ago. Here's MY repressed memory: You as a Republican.

Sue

NEWS: @OrrinHatch just spoke to Kavanaugh and Kavaaugh denies being at the party in question per a Hatch aide.

Hatch told me kavanaugh is “honest” and “straightforward” and said after talkng to Kavanaugh the woman might be “mixed up”

Sue

Does Kavanaugh have a brother?

maryrose

How can hatred of a person , in this case President Trump and by extension- anyone he would nominate so dominate a person’s life that they would lie and cheat and defame just to diminish them?
I just don’t understand people anymore.
These Congress people are supposed to be leaders of our country and our representative voice.
Doesn’t seem that they represent anything that is decent or honorable.

hrtshpdbox

Well, Kavanaugh is a white man, that's his first sin. In a he said she said, of course it's the she who tells the truth. Especially when the she is a liberal academic and the he is a cisgendered purveyor of white privilege and toxic masculinity. If there was any justice in this world, all the white men in the world would fight to the death so that they could at least eliminate their carbon footprint once and for all.

The Infamous Ignatz

I want to make sure I understand this; you can, as a married, sitting US Senator, without a shred of doubt drive your car into an estuary and leave a live young woman to drown in it, then have people in high places lie for you and excuse your homicide and the likes of Di-Effin-Fi will call you a hero, but some left wing nutcase can make a highly unlikely accusation about some teenage incident with a respected sitting Federal judge and the Dems think you're not fit.
Forget a hearing about his fitness for SCOTUS. The worthless scum Dems should be introducing a motion to impeach him from his present position shouldn't they? Let's have a trial and see the evidence.

Captain Hate

That Coulter jab might really get to Flake if he sees it while watching his buddy Bill Maher.

Momto2

Dennis Prager agrees that even if it is 100% true and provable (which it is not) it does not negate the rest of his lifetime of accomplishments. He thinks it is a ludicrous embarrassment for the U.S. Senate to give credence to or debate something someone did at the age of 17.

(Was listening in the car so sorry - this was my general summary of what he said and he was mad!!)

Old Lurker

Water under the bridge, Iggy. Sorry if I was too thin skinned. I sure want to kick off my pessimism blanket too, believe me. I guess I am simply stunned by how dirty (anti-constitutional if that's a word) DC has been for how long, how many previously upstanding officials let that happen or helped, and then how little has been done to expose it and punish it.

If Trump can make the midterms a referendum on his progress to date and plans for more, and then holds the Congress, then you will see my frown turn up in a split second.

Never meant to imply that I would sit the fight out regardless, even though the odds are bad for our side.
