Matt Drudge alerts us to a marital spat that led John Kerry and Teresa Heinz to spend the night in separate hotel rooms. Marital spat indeed - Teresa just wanted a good night's sleep, away from the nightmares and thrashing (Look for Gourevitch-skipper).
Hey, is this line of speculation over the border, or just near it? I don't know, but Tim Russert raised it in April.
MORE: But seriously, a note to self - re-read Robert Musil's warning about insane over-reach by the Kerry critics. This is what he is warning against.
UPDATE: OK, new explanation - maybe Kerry was sailing into Cambodia to meet with foreign leaders. (ed -- You're backsliding...)
I'm amused at the notion that they quarreled over her idiotic description of Arizonans as Nevadans, but you're right--it's not an issue. We've caught quite a few photos in the media lately where Teh-RAY-za is obviously less than enchanted with the election routine.

Hmmm.
What's really funny is that this is all with an incredibly captive press. What happens if, god forbid, they get into the White House? Well then the press will turn on them because the media always needs feeding.
Bet that'll make sparks.

"She won't elaborate on what Santorum said to earn her enmity"
I can venture a good guess .. when Santorum was running to fill the Senate seat vacated by the death of John Heinz, Teresa Heinz basicly wanted Santorum to come and kiss her ring (so to speak).
She was offended that he didn't get her approval to run, forgeting that in the U.S. there is no nobility and no need to kiss rings or other items.
I thought at the time that this was over the top on the part of Teresa Heinz and voted for Santorum just to protest her asininity.

"... but you're right--it's not an issue..."
Not a substantive issue, but married persons sometimes go nuts and kill each other over things like leaving the cap off the toothpaste.
We can always hope that more fun develops!

Hey Tom your posts are great, but a little too telegraphic.
Maybe you can summarize a bit more of the material that you're linking.

Jim,
I wouldn't wish any married couple to have unnecessary arguments. I just want the Kerry clan to lose the election and disappear. I don't want them to fight with each other. No one wins a fight in a marriage.

Sometime these kinds of Drudge headlines make you want to take a bath. It only took less than 3 years after 9/11 for us start being our old frivolous selves. This is where President Bush, the president, rather than President Bush the candidate, needs to step up to the plate.

There are very important things to criticize both Kerry and Bush about. However, things like "Hello Arizona," the marital spat, the Wendy's episode, etc. etc. go to character and serve as a preview of President Kerry and First Lady Teresa.

Might want to check Drudge tonight. They've got something planned about this Cambodia business.

Wow. After reading the stuff here, especially the Musil link, it's clear this Swift boat thing really is another Republican smear plot. Its interesting how Musil counsels conservatives to be disciplined, so they can plant the same kind of rumors and innuendo that they used to ridicule Gore with the Internet 'whoppers'.
I'm going to recommend this site to all my friends, so we can understand more clearly the way the Republicans are manipulating the press to try and win the election with dirty tricks.
Thanks.
