Every time John Kerry gets around a crowd of black people, he does two things: 1) dredges up the "million disenfranchised black voters" meme; and 2) to show that he's in tune with black media, raises the well-known rumor in the black community that the GOP are going to allow certain clauses of the 1965 Voting Rights Act to expire. Never mind the fact that the Congress has always and overwhelmingly voted to extend all provisions of the Act every time it's come up. It's simple racial demagoguery.

When Kerry plays the race card like this it is obvious to one and all he is headed down the same path as Jimmy Carter. Hope he has nails and a hammer ready. Maybe he can build better homes than he erformed in the senate.
