Glenn has two posts about the mostly-retired blogging legend, Steven Den Beste. He provides a link to the backstory, and here are some of Den Beste's Best.
Let me just add that Mr. Den Beste's courtesy and energy were an inspiration to me, and I hope to many others. He took the time to respond to obscure bloggers while he stood on the mountaintop, and I, for one, am grateful.
P.S. He also had the coolest nickname ever, although he had to share it.
He will be sorely missed for sure. I would like to take this time to thank you for your Blog and wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I always enjoy coming here and want you to know you are doing the blogesphere a great service. My hat is off to you.

Steve was great. And, if he should come across this, I have 2 words for him. Guest blogging. Just think about it.

"He took the time to respond to obscure bloggers while he stood on the mountaintop, and I, for one, am grateful."
I'd like to second that thought. He also took time to respond to random knuckleheads (like me), and publish supporting or dissenting views. He went a long way toward exploring the new frontiers of the medium.

I'd also like to second that one. You're not only carrying on the tradition with honor, TM, but have been voted less likely to split infinitives as well ("to boldly go . . ."). Great stuff, and Happy Holidays.
