Jane, I'll take Ambasadors to Mexico for $300....

hey look...Jason Leopold is still at it

Indictment Still Sealed, Fitzgerald Still Busy
By Jason Leopold and Marc Ash
t r u t h o u t | Report

Monday 21 August 2006

An indictment first reported by Truthout said to be connected to Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald's Plame investigation remains sealed, and Fitzgerald continues to work on the leak case.

The indictment, 06 cr 128, was returned by the grand jury hearing evidence in the CIA leak case between May 10 and May 17 - right around the time that Truthout reported, based on sources close to the investigation, that Karl Rove had been indicted on charges of perjury and lying to investigators.

However, that indictment remains under seal more than three months after it was filed - an unusually lengthy period of time, according to experts in the field of federal law. The indictment could be dismissed down the road, meaning the public may never get the opportunity to learn the identity of the defendant or the substance of the criminal case.

Jane, in D.C. the size of one's office generally is inversely proportional to the importance of the job (and the need to get in early in the a.m.). Could I be undersecretary of commerce for tourism. The office is the size of a basketball court, you can show up whenever you want, and it's all fun.

If it's boring where you are, I have two fun blogs up:

And Edward Luttwak has a thoughful piece on Lebanon:

Barney Frank

Whatever you do...DON'T google up Barney Frank!

At first I was a little offended by this, especially coming on the heals of Jeff telling me to F off. But as I thought about it, I agree that anyone googling my namesake should, at the very least, have their filter set on "HIGH".

Barney Frank

And just to take a trip off-road into the social security fever swamp, I guess I'm one of those right wing nutters who doesn't really care whether SS works or not. I have searched in vain for many years asking someone to please point out the section of the US constitution which authorizes a national pension plan run by the feds. Maybe Jeff can help me.
Since the new and improved Democratic party is all for this newfangled rule of law thing they've discovered, no doubt they'll disown SS once they learn there is no constitutional authorization for it.

Don't hold your breath, Barney.

I nominate Top Snoopy Snoop Dog as head of your CIA.

Could I be undersecretary of commerce for tourism. The office is the size of a basketball court, you can show up whenever you want, and it's all fun.

Of course you can. Maybe you can visit Windansea in Mexico.

Don't tell me that TM is on a two week vacation. He might miss my entire election.

(Isn't supposed to be snoop doggy dog?)

Could I be Secretary of the Navy? I've always wanted a boat. :)

A boat? You can have a bloody armada - (I got the "bloody" from my secretary of spelling and pronouciation.)

You are correct- it is snoop doggy-dog and I would enjoy being in the Travel office if that post isn't already filled with Clinton lifers hanging on to their jobs for dear life.

"I got the "bloody" from my secretary of spelling and pronouciation.)"

Department of Correct Pronunciation and Spelling,if you please, this is no time for laxity.

If the Department of Pronounciation and Spelling doesn't object to the word "armada" I would love to have one. :)

Looky! They did it again.
Picture - story mismatch on AP

I got in a hurry. Is DP&S going to do an investigation? Snoop doggy dog!!!

I want to be in charge of the white house travel office. Then I can take trips with the Who's Who like Joe and Val.

Barney Frank

Good idea Specter.
However, if Hillary succeeds Jane I suggest a quick retirement lest you follow Billy Dale into oblivion.

LOL...If Hillary succeeds I could just disappear only to be found in the White House Dining Room months later....

Rick Ballard

As holder of the joint Defense and Treasury portfolios in the soon to exist Jane Administration, I can assure you that your desire to obtain an armada is well within the constraints of the proposed administration. We will be offering (to a select few, to be sure) opportunities to bid upon the consitutionally approved device of "Letters of Marque and Reprisal". As Secretary of the Treasury in the incoming administration, I can assure you that your desire to raise an armada will be have a warm greeting. There are certain definitional issues that, again, I can assure you, will be dealt with efficiently under the provisions of my secondary portfolio as Secretary of Defense.

In particular, the division of spoils with relationship to the taking of foreign vessels will be determined according to regulations to be promulgated by the Jane Administration DoD upon ascension to office.

how the heck did Jane get the Presidency??

how long has she been a JOMer?

her name starts with a J....

this could be a mole folks....:)

Don't worry - if she is I'll disguise one of her trips to the "ranch" for vacation and actually send her to downtown Tehran. I don't expect Jane is a mole though.....

Have you ever seen me shop?
I would make an outstanding Secretary of Commerce.

Rick Ballard

"how the heck did Jane get the Presidency??"

Don't be silly. It is ordained by the Goddess and thus secure from question.

As holder of the Secretary of Defense portfolio in the administration, a portion of my resonsility with regard to dissidence involves the selection of individuals who will be part of the reeducation program to be conducted in camps established in zones selected for their proximity to the Arctic Circle.

You may wish to clarify your suggestion - if not then may I suggest an investment in thermal innerwear, if not outerwear?

Let's take one of these babies out for a spin! :)

I see great minds think alike as we both requested the same position. I would be happy to be your assistant in the Travel Office provided you can guarantee that I won't be purged by Hillary somewhere down the line. I would like to keep my day job in education though because it makes me feel I am making a contribution to the future leaders of America.

I can take Hillary out on a little cruise. The Bermuda triangle, perhaps? ;)

Jane is an excellent choice for President because she appreciates how good Dunkin Donuts coffee is.
OT: Laugh of the day...Matthews on Hardball trying to convince Santorum that he{Chris"} is an independent by harkening back to his coverage of Clinton.
Also Santorum claims Casey won't debate him and that the Repubs helped get the Green Party on the ballot.

Your experience overseas and your proven shopping ability make you an excellent choice. I second the nomination.

I think Semanticleo should be president...if anyone deserve the shit shovelled onto George Bush she does.

With pretty talk like that you might have to be chief of staff too.

Maybee, consider this a yes to the commerce post.

Windansea, I'm only leading in the polls by 95% so it's not a done deal. I could be a gopher, but I will never be a mole.

Rocco, Lew, pick your poison. You guys got me into this spot, you best help out!

"Associated Press Writers 11 minutes ago Then-Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage met with Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward in mid-June 2003, the same time the reporter has testified an administration official talked to him about CIA employee Valerie Plame. Armitage's official State Department calendars, provided to The Associated Press under the Freedom of Information Act, show a one-hour meeting marked "private appointment" with Woodward on June 13, 2003. Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has investigated whether Bush administration officials intentionally revealed Plame's identity as a one-time CIA covert operative... "

Armitage article

Ah...this proves that Armitage is the original source.

And very interesting that the AP was able to obtain this information when Libby was denied by Walton the same information.

Jane, can I have Craig Livingstone's old job?

Good point Lurker...

via the presser...

...In fact, Mr. Libby was the first official known to have told a reporter when he talked with Judith Miller in June [23rd] of 2003 about Valerie Wilson...

...It was known that there was a leak and we needed to figure out how that happened, who did it, why, whether a crime was committed, whether we could prove it, whether we should prove it...

this is interesting, I had not remebered the date of this

...Wilson said he attempted to increase pressure on the White House the day after the June 12 article was published by calling some present and former senior administration officials who know national security adviser Condoleezza Rice. He wanted them to tell Rice that she was wrong in her comment on NBC's "Meet the Press" on June 8 that there may be some intelligence "in the bowels of the agency," but that no one around her had any doubts about the uranium story.

Wilson said those officials told him Rice was not interested and he should publish his story in his own name if he wanted to attract attention.

3 days after the INR memo was dated, and the day Armitage met with Woodward.

--- if he wanted to attract attention.---

Doesn't something seem hanky here?

"Associated Press Writers 11 minutes ago Then-Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage met with Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward in mid-June 2003

Tee hee. So how does this play out?

You want to be an ex-bar bouncer? That's okay with me, but are you a good shot?

How did Armitage think he'd keep this secret? Hasn't he ruined himself for all time by not coming forth with the info himself.

This on the same day that out truthout friends continue the double secret indictment of Karl Rove meme.

Is it a full moon tonight?

You want to be an ex-bar bouncer? That's okay with me, but are you a good shot?

I just want a secret high-level job where nobody knows who hired me or who my supervisor is. But sure, I can shoot.

Rick Ballard

Madame President in waiting,

A benefice may be gained by discretion in the grant of offices presumptive. As designate holder of the Treasury portfolio I must caution against wanton grants of authority issued without consideration to the value of the authority so dispensed.

It is enough that I am enjoined to engage in delicate negotiation with the Canadian government concerning appropriate compensation for the locations of the various requisite reeducation camps. Should offsetting sources of potential income be obviated ab initiio, I foresee a certain amount of difficulty in accomplishing primary goals. One must remember that, even with the announced decline, there are still more than a million NYT subcribers to be accomodated. Although land above the Arctic Circle has negligible economic value, the Canadians have expressed concerns that may induce unforeseen costs.

It may, in fact, prove economically advantageous to sublet the entire matter to the Russians, who are much more conversant with the exigencies of the situation.

And...this AP article pretty much dismisses the Wilson lawsuit in its entirety.

I just knew Rick was the right guy for the job(s).

May I suggest Cecil Turner as Secretary of State? It would do my heart good to hear, when being questioned by some dippy reporter, Mr. Turner begin his response with his classic: "Oh, nonsense."

lurker? What article?

Well....maybe I could be Ambassador to Tahiti then? I mean since maryrose asked for the travel office first.....

Or if we work things right I could be the Imperial Governor of Cuba? LOL

Specter, the AP article about Armitage.

Lew Clark

I gave my 35 years to the gummit, so I don't want a job there. Plus my position as Emperor and Chief at the Rightwing Press will be pretty demanding. Seeing as how it will be the only legally authorized wire service in the U.S.

"Armitage's calendar also shows that a week before Woodward's meeting with Armitage, the deputy secretary of state met for 15 minutes with Libby."

A week before the 13th was the 6th, the same day Wilson's op-ed piece was published by the Times.

Isn't there a good possibilty this meeting was scheduled before the 6th? And wouldn't that matter?

Will the real conservative please stand up?

Who invited Green Helmut Man?

Cool photoshoppng, Rocco. There's an opening at Reuters.

Just heard the blurp on a FOX newsbreak to Britt's rebroadcast - and sent emails to many JOMers.

See that you beat me by miles.
But that was the first mention of it that I heard.

This 24/7 coverage of JonBenet is driving me mad. Hope there is some substance to the arrest and we haven't gone thru days of video of this child for naught.

Hope TM has another programmed thread comming up. Dial up is no fun with the long threads.

Read the headlines if you dare and then watch
the idiot son in his news conference this morning.

They've definitely run the JonBenet story into the ground. Do they really think we want to hear it over and over?

I've changed over to Animal Planet again. :)

Please appoint me to a position in a location where there is no ragweed!

Jawa is asking for any Adnans out there to submit photos of the 12th Iman slithering out of the well.

GatewayPundit has Google tale:
Try "failure" get GW.
Try "liar" get Tony Blair
Those lefties are really a laugh a minute.

The JonBennet Ramsey case is starting to creep me out. Between the cute little girl dressed up like an adult and the creepy suspect, I really use the remote when this story is on. I pray for the little girl though.

Why does Sam keep posting incidents of war like people getting killed in war is news. Suggest reading the ahistory of the American Civil War or any war. I don't get the point.

Actually, I remember reading that on a day April in 1945 a certain American led the list of war casualties for that day and people who knew him said that he would have been honored and pleased to be included on that list as a casualty of war...he was FDR.

But to Sam it would just be an entry on his list...doesn't seem to get it.

Oh and back to the Plame Game. Does anyone else suspect that there will be a deal struck before Libby's trial in Jan. Libby pleads to a misdeameanor, gets probation. I think now that the spotlight is off this case the odds of a deal are higher.

Yes silly sam "the beat does go on"... maybe you should stop whacking your head against the wall. I hear they have drugs now for such poor souls in your condition. But you'll need a prescription from a "real" doctor. You should ask your fearless leader the good Dr. Dean for some of the same crap he feeds the other moonbats... it's going to be a long 2 years.

9/11/01 http://www.september11victims.com/september11victims/victims_list.htm>USA 2,948 inocent US civilians murdered

http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=23993>How the Left Was Won

Seems to be the playbook our troll silly sam likes to use...

"Mgrdechian: Sure. The primary theme of my book is that all liberal statements, arguments, positions, policies and behaviors are nothing more than simple manifestations of the same relatively small set of strategies and assumptions, or what I call “tools and methodologies,” which are simply used over and over again.

For example, the first chapter, “Promote and Exploit Divisiveness,” focuses on class-warfare, man-hating, race-baiting and every other technique liberals use to divide people. Of course liberals always try to turn things around and, not surprisingly, they endlessly accuse conservatives of divisiveness. But to see what divisiveness is really all about, just take a look at the differences between how liberals and conservatives debate an issue.

When conservatives talk about illegal immigration for example, they structure real arguments and focus on things like the immigration being illegal in the first place, the strain on the county’s social services, the economic impact, the impact of trying to absorb too many people who speak a different language and so on. On the other hand, when liberals talk about immigration, they focus on one thing -- calling conservatives racist and telling Hispanics that we hate them. A logical discussion verses promoting and exploiting divisiveness. It’s as simple as that."

I wonder how many of those deaths Sam cites could have been prevented if the left had actually joined our side instead of aiding and abetting the enemy?

The Lackawanna six were all registered Democrats, Osama endorsed Kerry and Zawaherie just quoted talking points from the DNC.

ps...love that cloning tool!

Granted, granted, granted, granted and granted. But don't tell anyone because Rick, who is really in charge, (Karl could you escort sam from the premises)says we should be operating on the QT while we are outsourcing something to the Russians.

I'm wondering if the Armitage news will be summarily ignored, by everyone but us. (Lew's takeover can't come soon enough).

The JonBenet thing fascinates me, in, of course, a perverted sort of way. I still think he might be the guy, or at least he watched the snuff film of the event a gajillion times.

Back to business:

Capt ed's take on the Armitage revelation:

The last paragraph speaks volumes:

Maybe once we establish the actual source of the Plame leak, we can get the press to establish the truth about Wilson's claims. Unfortunately, we will probably wait at least as long for that development as we did for the Armitage/Woodward meeting to come to light.

Too bad we can't have some nut claim they killed Mary Jo Kopechne... I betcha $100 bucks Ted Kennedy would have a press conference!

Ah the party of http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/21/AR2006082101427.html>Cry Babies and whiners. They just can't stand it that Lieberman is running... and winning!

And here's what the http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x2468351>moonbats think...

"They are right It is a fake political party not a real one, hence he shouldn't be allowed on the ballot.

Talk about fascism! They are pathetic.

Mr Ballard,
"It is enough that I am enjoined to engage in delicate negotiation with the Canadian government concerning appropriate compensation for the locations of the various requisite reeducation camps."

If I may say,you are approaching this from the wrong angle, simply announce conscription for all DEmocrat supporters and they will be gone.

Wonderful news continue to come from Iraq in spite of the insurgencies. America used to have similar problems right after the Civil War. Remember KKK as an example?

Now that the Iraqi forces with US troops continue to sweep Baghdad for insurgents. Remember 501 terrorists arrested plus 100 killed?

I bet that the total number of civilians killed by these insurgents run about 5 or 6 thounsands by now. Perhaps ten thousands.

A pale comparison.

The total number of casualties committed on our US highways, freeways, and streets plus all crimes committed in the entire USA on a daily basis make those Sam numbers insignificant. What is Sam doing to reduce the number of casualties in USA? Nothing.

What a crock.

But anyone notice that yesterday's Sam list is shorter than before? As long as the Iraqi and US forces continue to sweep for insurgents, that list will continue to get shorter over time, with the list showing the similar numbers to our US casualty and crime numbers.

So, did the 12th Imam, or whoever he is, show up yet? Doesn't look like Iran nuked Israel so far today. I guess they haven't brought about the apocalypse this time. Ho Hummmm.

The moonbats are scared that Joe Leiberman will win over Namont.

Looks like he will.

Anyone noticed at Drudgereport last night that the Republicans' fundraising is 3 to 1 over Democrats?

Wonderful, wonderful news from Iraq.

Iraqis Keep Reporting For Duty, even in Anbar so that they can continue to self-govern themselves.

Robert Kaplan wrote a story about one of our marines in his book where this marine attended a local townhall meeting, filled with sheikhs. The sheikhs kept asking this marines what USA is going to do about the insurgency problem. Guess what the marine's response was.

The marine told the sheikhs that it's up to them to fight the insurgency and we will help them if that is their desire.

"Help those that will help themselves."

That's democracy in practice AND theory.

Anyone notice that Spammin' Sam's bad news headlines are getting shorter? Either he is running out of bad news headlines or he is getting tired of his game.

And on Sue's point...

Armed Attacks in Iraq Decline by 70%.

I just figured silly sams drugs were just wearing off!

Actually I think his posts are a good indicator. The more these moonbats stay focused on such crap the more they damage the Democrat party.

When Lieberman wins in November, just watch the backlash against Kos and his kids. They won't be able to claim that the election was stolen this time... well at least I can't think they will. I'm sure Jason Leopold will set them straight!

Maybe then some of the adults will take back the dem party!
