With Vista just launched Microsoft has announced yet another discount program for Vista. It's not exactly flying out the door. A registry corruption last week running XP professional was the last straw with me. Looking forward to swithing OS's when Apple rolls out it's OSX update.
The fact is Republicans are increasing out of step with the American public. This is evident in almost every scientific poll. Smearing liberals is not working.
"This is evident in almost every scientific poll. Smearing liberals is not working. "
You mean those liberals at odd with most of the significant events of the late 20th and 21st centuries, those liberals still mired in Kumbiyah and Karl Marx?
Do you think the conditions in Iraq are going to change significantly in the next two years to affect a change in the current perception of the war in Iraq? If you think so, your deluded.
"Do you think the conditions in Iraq are going to change significantly in the next two years to affect a change in the current perception of the war in Iraq?"
You are gagging for Iraqis to die aren't you ferris, lusting after the blood of American troops. Why do you have the same psychopathic desires as Tehran and al Qaeda ferris, does the C in DNC stand for Caliphate? You are most unnatural ferris.
Conditions in Iraq don't need to change signifigantly. The reporting of what's going on there needs to change. A small change in the reporting could signifgantly change the perception of what is happening on the ground.
Pofarmer, if he press could just stop reporting stories like the highest ranking Sunni in the goverment nearly getting killed this week in a morter attack, and the near miss on the Secy Gen of the UN in Baghdad.
And then there is the fact that March 2007 is so far the 9th bloodiest month for U.S. soldiers in the 48 months since the Occupation began.
We need more reports on the success of all the billions and billions we've spent on reconstruction. All the schools that have new paint, and all the soccor balls we give out.
bgates asks, "Abe, do attacks on high-ranking officials equate to a completely hopeless situation?"
Well, it is certainly not a good sign when officials are not even safe in the Green Zone. But our standard should not be "is this completely hopeless or just almost completely hopeless."
Are you asking our soldiers to go over there and risk their lives in a civil war because "hey, listen, it may not be completely hopeless"?
Imagine if your stockbroker called you up and said, "you should invest in XYZ, because I think this company's future is NOT completely hopeless."
Is that really your standard?
BTW, I do think that our continued occupation of Iraq IS completely hopeless. I believe, and you may well disagree, that our presence is actually counterproductive at this point.
The better questions is, "is our continued presence of 150,000 troups and hundreds of billions of dollars a worthwhile use of these people and resources?
I should add that a clear majority of Americans answer NO to the following question:

That's just overkill.

sferris, you want America to lose so badly, why don't you go fight for the side you want to win?
Abe, do attacks on high-ranking officials equate to a completely hopeless situation?
If so, what do the fates of Zarqawi and Saddam tell you?
