So the Supreme Court today in a 8-1 vote upheld a 33 month sentence for perjury and obstruction of justice, ruling that since it was within sentencing guidelines it was "presumptively reasonable". The defendant had asked for a lighter sentence, but no dice.
WaPo did not connect any dots to Libby's prospects; his name is not in the article.
The piece I am missing in this story is whether the truck that blew up was the water truck he told them they should always check.
Other than that I find that I am more and more amazed at the sheer quality of our young men and women in the military. What did we do to get so blessed with all these fine young men and women. That they are willing to go forth in defense our country and keep re-enlisting in that war amazes me. I look at their parents and think that it is probably a reaction to the actions of their parents back in the 60's.
I pray every night for our soldiers and thank anyone I see for their service to our country. We are surging successfully and I couldn't be prouder. My friend's husband made it home safely so I know God is answering our prayers.
Geez - those guys are just amazing!
