From The Corner

After a group of UC Davis women faculty began circulating a petition, UC regents rescinded an invitation to Larry Summers, the controversial former president of Harvard University, to speak at a board dinner Wednesday night in Sacramento....

My sympathy for Chemerinsky languishes in deep slumber. Wake me up when we get anywhere near "just as bad as they are".

It needn't slumber; he'll be hired.

Mr. Lindsey, an Arkansan who splits his time between Little Rock and New York, passed Mr. Hsu's card to Mr. Rutherford. The Clinton School dean said he followed up with a letter asking for the donation.

Seems Skippy knows a few things about the Rich Pardon as well.

Interview with Skip Rutherford, volunteer head of fund-raising foundation for Clinton Presidential Library, on probe into possible link between Denise Rich's donations and Clinton's pardon of Marc Rich

Are we getting close to OFF

Former American fugitive Marc Rich was a middleman for several of Iraq's suspect oil deals in February 2001, just one month after his pardon from President Clinton, according to oil industry shipping records obtained by ABC News.

OT - Just caught up with reading re Seixon - Johnson intimidation threats of July 07. So, Seixon nicely baited Johnson into admitting his connection to a foreign power:

"I know where you are living. You forget that I do work for the European Union and friends in Interpol."

He make work for the EU, but the US still has the EC for traitors during time of war.

Re: Hsu and Chinese front companies: Interesting that the FBI estimates there are over 2,600 Chinese front companies in the U.S., according to this 10/18/06 article:

Have the Chinese communists bought the dems? Sounds like it. Lock, stock and barrel. It seems this guy has bought a lot of democrats and their machines. Maybe the dems can't deliver the orders from their masters about losing in Iraq.

Back when all this came out about Clinton selling the Chinese our technology I thought ot myself "He's sold us out" and he had. I fear the Clintons have never severed their relationship with the Chinese and are still selling out this country. And there is no telling what other countries the dems are bound to. I should think common sense would tell you not to allow foreign money to be donated to elected officials due to conflict of interest.

From yesterday's Arkansas Online

Though Clinton was by far the biggest beneficiary of his fundraising, Hsu touched many with his largesse. Even Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau, who is leading one investigation of Hsu, received $2,000 from Hsu during his last re-election campaign. His spokeswoman says the district attorney has put the money into an escrow account pending the outcome of the investigation.

How can a DA who took Hsu's campaign money, investigate Hsu for illegal campaign contributions?

In that case, prosecutors presented documents that suggested the Iraqis viewed Wyatt as their conduit to the White House after Bill Clinton became president in 1993.

They showed a July 1995 letter reportedly written by Nizar Hamdoon, Iraq's former representative to the United Nations, which read: "Dear Oscar, Samir briefed me of your conversation with President Clinton this week."

An entry in Clinton's diary records a call he made to Wyatt on July 25, 1995, according to archives at the Clinton presidential library in Little Rock, Ark...

He [Wyatt] apparently left the book behind at the Houston airport in the spring of 2002, the lawyers said in asking a U.S. District judge to prevent use of the information at his trial.

The address book contains the name of Marc Rich, who fled the United States after being charged with tax evasion and fraud. In one of his last acts as president, Clinton pardoned the fugitive financier, touching off a firestorm.

The lawyers said letting jurors see the entry would be "totally irrelevant and inflammatory."

"Wyatt's relationship with Rich, if any, adds nothing to the government's allegations of prohibited transactions with Iraq except the prejudicial association of their suspect with a notorious felon," the lawyers wrote.

Just a thought

Strong, whose Lost Lake, Buckhorn, Ontario property has been up for sale, hasn't been heard from since he admitted to recognizing his signature on a $1-million cheque from deposed Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein to Tongsun Park to Cordex, a now defunct company once run by his son, Fred, after having first denied any knowledge of the cheque.
