GMax

I dont know about anyone else but in a party that is always about playing the race card and the gender card whenever it might yield a political advantage, I am so enjoying the food fight erupting in the Democrat cafeteria.

So when the gender candidate and the race candidate beat the hell out of each other, will whole chunks of those sole motivated voters stay home when their candidate is ultimately beaten. And will another whole chunk of independents get so turned off by the whole disgusting mess, that they flee to a Republican who pledges a new politics of bipartisan yada?

Its could not happen to better bunch of fools.

RichatUF

TSK9-

Who said this?

Obama, called it a tragedy that has been difficult to work through then geneflected to the Red Witch's work in the clean up. It was the first words he spoke in response to the Williams question.

hit and run

OK, I disagree with KLo to an extent:

""You have to be able to manage and run the bureaucracy. " [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

That line from earlier in the debate has stuck in my head for over over an hour now. That's why Hillary wants be president? Inspiring. (Never mind where exactly she has the experience to do such a thing....)

This is the one argument I will put in Giuliani's column. If I were convinced that he could and would come in a clean up the bureacracy in CIA, State, DOJ, etc, etc, etc, I would vote for him in a heartbeat. And I would start with him at the top of the list of persons able and willing to do so....

centralcal

They were feisty group (Luntz focus group).
Hispanic man said they were being bullied to vote for Obama. Black woman wants to know what the heck he is talking about.

Whooo baby - things are hot in Vegas among the union members!

RichatUF

Elliott and Jane-

Great Job, sorry if my snark was getting in the way.

JM Hanes

Elliott, Jane: You guys are the best! We need you at the Convention with Clarice! In fact, I think we should all go to the Convention with Clarice.

centralcal

So, there was a heckler in the audience saying that Russert was asking race baiting questions? Breitbart has the video.

hit and run

Rick:
"Uncommitted is at 38% right now"

I expect him to do much better after tonight's debate.

Dammit! How do you know it is a he!?!?!?!!!!??? you misogynist!!!!11!!!111!!!

And what color is this candidate?!?!?!?!?

GMax

cuz we can

Si se puede!

were you just translating for me or was that totally unintentional?

I had three years in high school two more in college. I read Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes Savedra in its original Spanish once upon a time. I can butcher it as well as most of you!

JM Hanes

centraical: Hard to know what to do when your victims start fighting each other isn't it? What's a parent to do?

JM Hanes

Rich: Debates without snark? Cake without frosting?

windansea

hmmm

dem voters 43% MALE 57% FEMALE

rethugs 56% MALE 44% FEMALE

Elliott

How pathetic is it that Brian Williams asked about CitiGroup without mentioning Robert Rubin?

Jane

Whew! Great job Elliott! Chris Matthews just declared hillary the winner so I'm going to bed.

hit and run

JMH:
Elliott, Jane: You guys are the best! We need you at the Convention with Clarice! In fact, I think we should all go to the Convention with Clarice.

To date, Clarice has only indicated going to the Republican convention.

Personally, I would LOVE to go to the Repub convention.

As "hit and run", I would only contemplate attending the Democratic convention.

centralcal

JMH: yup! I think this thing is gonna get a whole lot uglier on the Dem side. They have opened this racial divide thing up - blacks, whites, hispanics (arabs?) - and it ain't pretty. Question is, just how ugly is it all gonna get?

The Luntz focus group was all ethnic groups, males and females, and you could see the tension.

Topsecretk9

Thanks Rich.

Rick Ballard

"How do you know it is a he!?"

Because it's Tuesday. Tomorrow she'll remain her warm and personable self - it's only the pronouns that actually change. He's the real thing, H&R and tomorrow she'll be the same Uncommitted that America has come to know and love on this auspicious evening.

RichatUF

JMH-

Cake without frosting?

A Dem debate without beer!!!!

Elliott

You too, Jane.

Rich, snark is always welcome.

windansea

exit poll looks very good for Mitt

RichatUF

TSK9-

That bit of questioning will yield lots of opposition campaign material, TM just posted another thread about the Red Witch saying we will get attacked with a democrat president [something about when PM Brown accended those AQ goons that tried to bomb London and Glasgow]

Someone should have kept her updated because AQ is claiming a "white army" inside Britian ready to strike.

hit and run

Rich:
A Dem debate without beer!!!!

Funny.

Not funny ha ha.

RichatUF

Romney really stomped McCain-pushing 9%. Were the polls off on this none as well.

JM Hanes

HIT

I was really thinking about the Republican convention. It's looking like that's where all the excitement is going to be anyway, isn't it? I'll get a big hotel room with a kitchenette & a maxi bar somewhere and have the herbal wraps for your carpals at the ready as you come and go from floor to party to floor, probably in that order.:)

hit and run

Rick:
Because it's Tuesday. Tomorrow she'll remain her warm and personable self

Just remember, no matter what today is always yesterday, tomorrow.

JM Hanes

Anderson Cooper to Candy Crowley: "How long is this love fest going to continue?" "Ahh, maybe till tomorrow."

Elliott

Sounds like fun, JMH.

hit and run

It wasn't me, but one of Geraghty's readers on the Dem race and MI results...

From one of my regulars: "I'm beginning to think this isn't an election; it's a Michael Crichton novel. All we need now is the smirky jackass who spouts Chaos Theory."

RichatUF

I flipped over to Fox and OReilly was interviewing some guy and he said "I won't say anything insightful"...I changed the channel.

hit and run

JMH:
I was really thinking about the Republican convention.

Oh, I've thrown my hat in the ring for paying my way there.

By the way, the more this thing drags out for the repubs...well...any chance you and I may make the difference in the whole kit and kaboodle on May 6????!?!?!?!!!

RichatUF

plagerism watch-

This phenomenon, common to chaos theory, is also known as sensitive dependence on initial conditions. Just a small change in the initial conditions can drastically change the long-term behavior of a system. Such a small amount of difference in a measurement might be considered experimental noise, background noise, or an inaccuracy of the equipment. Such things are impossible to avoid in even the most isolated lab. With a starting number of 2, the final result can be entirely different from the same system with a starting value of 2.000001. It is simply impossible to achieve this level of accuracy - just try and measure something to the nearest millionth of an inch!

From this idea, Lorenz stated that it is impossible to predict the weather accurately. However, this discovery led Lorenz on to other aspects of what eventually came to be known as chaos theory.

Lorenz started to look for a simpler system that had sensitive dependence on initial conditions...

/smirky jackass

hit and run

OH AND BY THE WAY!!!!

To JMH from me:
any chance you and I may make the difference in the whole kit and kaboodle on May 6????!?!?!?!!!

So, our voter registration cards showed up today. mrs hit and run and I

But you know what? It wudn't just our cards.

Our next door neighbors' cards were in our mail box -- and the house next to them.

Our next door neighbors moved out back in June, so they's in Illinois at this point.

We had, in our possession, SIX (6) voter registration cards as of today.

If I thought that NC might have a say in the overall results....maybe I shoulda held on to those things...

Dangit. If only I was a Dem, I prolly woulda dunnit.

GMax

SIX (6) voter registration cards as of today.

What the heck it did not stop you in the Lowes voting, whats the problem now?

hit and run

heh, you're right.

OK, I will rue that decision if the race is decided by the vote in NC.

By the way, for those still here, TM has a couple new posts up...one on his reaction to the debates and one on where the repubs go from here.

JM Hanes

HIT:

Does American fly there? I've been savin' points... "any chance you and I may make the difference in the whole kit and kaboodle on May 6?"

Well, Rich sure seems to think we can: "Just a small change in the initial conditions can drastically change the long-term behavior of a system. "

JM Hanes

Too weird. David Gregory just said Giuliani has a choas theory strategy.

GMax

Who was it that has been talking about a brokered Repub convention again? Oh yeah it was me weeks ago. Seems like a few pundits have caught on, but not that many. But it will likely take three or more ballots to get to the nominee. Thats my consistent story, which I will stick to until I see any evidence of a candidate breakout.

narciso

You're trying to translate "It's better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at al" It's coming across, as it's better to have master? than to never have?

It's kind of dissapointing how ungramma-tically and even dictionwise Spanish is presented in many setting. One can understand messing up the tenses; but anything that involves idiomatic translation seems be based on Babelfish translations in "Cane" and even in the
"New Sarah Connor Chronicles". Words that
are supposed to mean the last, and informer
are deliberately? mistated as "El Finito"
y rata, whereas "El Ultimo" and 'chivato'
would seem more appropriate. Then again with regards to the results of this debate,
maybe translating into German, French, Dutch
and then Spanish, would make it seem comprehensible.

JM Hanes

narcisco:

Maybe we should just beam it into outer space and see what comes back?

Jane

I just woke to the "news" that Keith Olbermann, because of his success, is running MSNBC, and Chris Matthews is pissed.

(What has happened on this planet)

As for the convention - I'm in. If it gets slow, we can truck over to the SPCC and I'll teach you how to curl.

MayBee

Jane- DailyKos hasn't done much for the Dem party, but it sure has done a lot for Keith Olbermann.

Jane

Well they pretty much deserve each other. Apparently he blogs there.

Sue
Clinton - your pollster says hispanics don't vote blacks - is that your posiiton. No that's historical. I want to get hispanics to vote for blacks - ooops no I don't. I'm relying on them not doing that, but let me change the subject.

LOL. I am so glad I wasn't able to watch the debate last night.

MayBee

I wonder how that "black and brown" business from Hillary polls. It sounds really awful to my ears.

JM Hanes

I agree, Maybee. It sounds really Brit colonial to me. It's part and parcel with Dem style infantilizing; generic words contribute to the victim theme. I noticed she didn't call Asians the "yellow people." Can't say redskins, of course, would't be prudent.

kim

Many of the strictures of political correctedness are turned inward, like the blades of a garbage disposal. Hey, I like that.
====================

JM Hanes

Actually, having hit post, it suddenly occurs to me that Hillary is using the black/brown rhetoric, despite how it sounds, because some focus group somewhere said that's the only word that can compete with black. If you're trying to diffuse black vs. white issues (which Hill clearly had to do) you add a third player (triangulation, anyone?) and tell them Mother wants to do what's best for all her children. I'm not sure it's going to go over well with any of them, but who knows; I'll be interested to see if that formulation survives for long on the campaign trail.

kim

C'mon, you know it's gonna be all the 'cullahs' of the rainbow.
