Doogie Howzer? Pretty good analogy actually. The name alone rivals his actual name as one that most voters have never heard before.

Gmax

But will all 57 States be allowed to vote? Why didn't Al Gore lament that we did not count every vote in 7 more States?

kim

Why, this guy is Pinocchio!

The thought of this lighter-than-air poseur as president is actually quite frightening.

Buford Gooch

Any non-"post-racial" candidate for President with this shallow an experience level, would not have made it this far. Interpret "post-racial" as you will.

Neo

Now, this might be called a distraction.

Wow. Different strokes for different folks.

fdcol63

Obama's lack of experience is troubling, indeed.

However, what is even more frightening is the experience he DOES have, with anti-American, racist, terroristic and corrupt individuals like his wife, his pastor Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Tony Rezko, the Chicago Dem Party establishment, et al .... and his liberal, pacifistic, and socialistic naïveté and ignorance.

If enough Americans close their minds to the reality of what Obama is, we'll certainly get the "change" that Obama promises.

But this "change" will not bring the positive results they expected.

Mike G in Corvallis

Someone with access ought to do a Lexis-Nexis search to see what Democratic politicians and pundits said about the intelligence, experience, and fitness for office of Dan Quayle. Danny had far more experience in office and very likely is smarter. And for sheer stupidity, "fifty-seven states" trumps "potatoe" any day of the week.

steve sturm

And I chuckle about what it means that the Democrats have turned to and have such high hopes for such a naif instead of any of their other candidates with arguably greater experience.

I can understand the young Democrats discounting experience in favor of Obama's enthusiasm and excitement; young folks (not all, but a lot, and especially so on the Democratic side of the aisle) feel that experience in the workplace is overrated, so, not YET knowing any better, why wouldn't they think the same about the President? It's the older voters I wonder about, they're presumably smart enough to know that experience matters, whether one is fixing toilets, running a business or handling foreign affairs, yet they too have left their common sense by the curb as they jump onto the 'change' bandwagon.

It's enough to make me wish I had thought of the 'change' mantra and a way of monetizing it, as I'd be rich, Bill Gates rich.

Crunchy Frog

All this talk of "experience" does nothing to help Michelle Obama's kids.

Mateo

Obama should lose, not because he is black, but because he is green.

As in unready.

...the rule system that white people love the most is grammar. It is in their blood not only to use perfect grammar but also to spend significant portions of time pointing out the errors of others.

When asking someone about their biggest annoyances in life, you might expect responses like “hunger,” “being poor,” or “getting shot.” If you ask a white person, the most common response will likely be “people who use ‘their’ when they mean ‘there.’ Maybe comma splices, I’m not sure but it’s definitely one of the two.”

If you wish to gain the respect of a white person, it’s probably a good idea that you find an obscure and debated grammar rule such as the “Oxford Comma” and take a firm stance on what you believe is correct. This is seen as more productive and forward thinking that simply stating your anger at the improper use of “it’s.

Chris Dodd said on MSNBC that Obama will win the nomination with full arrogance and haughtiness. He is too full of himself. Hillary has consistently won the popular vote and in spite of that the male delegates have given their vote to Obama. Why are they ignoring the will of their own people? So what does this say about the Democratic party? The men heading it don't care about the popular vote of their own constituents. They don't want a woman in office who knows how to get the job the done having done it with her husband already. They don't want someone who they can't pull by the nose ring to do what they want them too. Hillary puts America first, always has. Us as Americans need to put America first. See Dodd is thinking that because of hard times "we the people" will vote for Obama over McCain. What does he think we are? Obviously he thinks that we can be bought?! Yes, with McCain it would be tough times, but you know who he is. He stayed behind in a POW camp, was tortured because he would not leave his own men behind. That shows character and a love for our country. Obama has been on corporations that had men that bombed our federal buildings. See, the Democratic party thinks that because we have had it hard as a people that we would rather have a democrat in office over a republican. We are not THAT SHALLOW!!! No, I want Hillary in office because we were exactly where we are today when her and Bill first got in. They gave us a surplus and made us healthy as a nation. Obama does not love America. Yes, we may have more hard times but I will always put AMERICA first, and I will never vote into office a racist or a hater of America. Thats all that Obama talks about how hard the white man has made his life and his pastor accuses America of giving HIV to blacks. This is who the Democratic party wants to run our government?! Senator Dodd you underestimate the American people. As a person on the DAR you have underestimated me. But Clinton can't be bought. that is why these delegates are giving their vote to Obama. Plus the Rockefellers and all the oil companies are voting and putting their money behind Obama. Now why do you suppose that is? You also have all the deranged people such as Farrahkan putting their money behind Obama. Then you have people like TED Kennedy who says to keep Hillary out because we need to get out the old establishment and bring in the new, inexperienced that he can personally manipulate. Well Ted Kennedy is talking about himself. These men think they will be able to get him to do what they want him to do, but he is a wild card. He will prove through his endless ties to the minutemen and racism at its worst to bring down America. What these delegates and super delegates are saying is they don't care what "we the American people" who put them in office think. They are going to put into office the guy that they think they can push around. But I am an American and I put America first. Just because my party tells me what to vote for, does not mean I will. I will vote for who is best for this country. If Obama gets the nomination, I will vote for McCain. I know it has been tough financially the last 8 years. I believe however that Obama would be the death of America. He is a racist. Anyone who loves as he put it and would not give up a man who baptised his children and married him, a mentor as he put it, who is a known racist who hates America by saying we got what we deserved when we were bombed....no I will not put him in office. My first allegiance as an American is to America. Now, I might have worst money problems, but over all if I vote McCain over Obama at least I know he loves America.

Soylent Red

The thing is, Obama's judgement based on his experience only one part of it.

People also need to look at how, when seeking mentorship in order to gain experience, he gravitated toward a certain mindset.

No doubt in my mind you become what you seek to become. Who were this man's instructors?

PeterUK

Surely Obama must be in two minds about this?

SteveMG

Yeah, well it's been the judgment of experienced folks like McCain and Bush that's gotten us where we are. It's the experience of the past eight years that I'm worried about.

That's a good line. You'll hear it a lot from Obama and his supporters when the issue is thrown at them.

DlkD

Obama doesn't need experience. He can just use like the others before him. Clinton and the rest. Maybe he realizes all the answers are there he just needs to ask his pal. Unless he is rascist like Hitler, then we may see some bad things in his homeland. Bill let the users get the cash and that is all people do now. So, Obama will do just fine unless he really did the crack and b job. I guess being for legalization and against crack sentences makes more sense.

Dodd wants term limits so he can cut off future Congressmen from all the cash.

Let's not ignore:

Da Nube,
Wait until you start getting the ebonics re-education.

I'll use they're!!! or anything like it cause of the ebonics thing. Maybe it menant she or it or sheeeit. Maybe, within the context in the US government, this made perfect sense.

Comas are not important.

Easterners shall peel that onion or orange or whatever.

MikeS

Obama did have some executive experience with that Annenberg Challenge thing. My understanding is that they successfully spent all the money without interfering with the quality of education in the Chicago area.

Neo. This "distraction" has the smell of James Carville on it--complete with a voodoo priest.

Easy for you to say, pal. Just wait until you're in one, then let us hear from you.

OT: I just had to repost this from an earlier thread about our new friend 'laughing all the way'

I've never posted here before but I just have to chime in to say that Laughing is one of the most pompous, smug, immature, sanctimonious assholes I've ever seen in print.

mmm. Thanks for that Jack..
I was begining to think it was only me..

Daddy

Drudge has a story up quoting Terry McAuliffe, Hillary's Campaign Chairman and former Dem Party Big Shot. McAuliffe is whining that "every independant study has said that this is the most biased coverage they've ever seen in a Presidential campaign." He than complains that about 90 percent of the media are in the tank for Obama.

Well Terry, I got news for you. This is not the most biased coverage ever seen in a Presidential campaign. This is exactly ops normal. If you were a Conservative you'd have known this is the exact pattern of every Presidential election for the last 30 years. When the heck is a single time you can recall any Conservative Candidate having less than 90 percent of the Media biased against him. You've always been fat dumb and happy with a 90 percent bias ratio in favor of your Liberal Candidate. Only now, when your Dem Hillary is opposed by 90 percent for the Dem Obama, do your blinders finally fall off and you think you sense a problem. Tell you what. If whenever the general election does roll around, you start screaming when you see that self-same bias promoting whoever the Dem Candidate is at the expense of the Republican, then I'll give your whine a listen. Until then, Boo Hoo.

clarice

Well,TM is half right.
If it's not a distraction to note Obama's serious shortcomings, then it's racism. So just shut your mouth , sit on your hands and let the best guy (from Illinois) win.

Pofarmer

I know it has been tough financially the last 8 years.

Now c'mon Joanna. The last 8 years have been the best financially of the 40 years of my life. For small businessmen and those in Agriculture, the 90's sucked. You've had low unemployment, decent economic growth, and real advancement on things like home ownership in the last 8 years(although some of that might be overblown). Get a little perspective.

Jane

Good Morning Pofarmer - I was thinking about just that this morning. The democrats have been screaming about how bad it is for so long, people just assume that's true. Funny how that works.

So Hill had a romp last night in WV and it barely makes the headlines. Poor thang.

hrtshpdbox

And Huckabee edged out Romney last night in WV, picking up 18 delegates (talk about no headlines)!

sam

hrts****: That WV caucus results for the Reps was from February, not last night.

"That WV caucus results for the Reps was from February, not last night."
LOL, thanks, me toopid - no wonder it didn't change the whole GOP race! :-)

Neo

I'm sorry but the ramification of Obama's tax policy scare the bloody hell out of me.

Given the prospect of a capital gains tax (15% to 28% almost) doubling, I can see the Stock Market heading for the door if he wins in November. At that point it won't make much real difference whether he tries to blame it on Bush or not. We'll all be screwed as our 401k's go down the toilet.

Tack on the ending of the Bush tax cuts, and only the AFSCME members will be left with a job.

RichatUF

Neo-

Don't worry. BHO has a plan for you to volunteer for public service, or if that doesn't float your boat, a plan for you to volunteer to join a union for a green collar job. Maybe part of the Polar Bear Feeding Unit of the ANWAR Protection Battalion...

Joanna

The Democratic party is going to learn a hard lesson. They are laughing now but come Nov. they will be crying if they think we Democratic women will tolerate their discrimination against Hillary simply because she is a woman. They want a man in office they don't care he can't win the swing states in Nov. they want him in office over a woman. Plus Hillary is strong, and they can push Obama around they think and they are ganging up on her. If Obama gets the nomination, we will send a message to the men because there are more women than men by double in the world. We will vote McCain and you scuzzy low life males will have egg on your face when your male looses.
