The note MO sent was to Laura Bush. Previous post neglected that detail.

 Ann

Whoopi knocked over her coffe cup in her lap. This will be the highlight for me, today. :)

I have to say MO actuallys looks pretty.

Hi, Bad you too.

clarice

Well, I expect the java in lap will be what is the most picked up part of this nonsense.

bad

Sherry: MO looks gorgeous
MO: Being pretty is a lot of work but fun, works with a chicago designer.

Whoopi: black people on TV have no teeth or just gold ones.

Barb: serious discussions about panty hose, barb has it MO doesn't because it is painful and inconveniant.

sherry: Your entire schedule revolves around the kids.

MO: is at home more than on the campaign trail

Liz: How about the meaness toward your kids like what happened to Chelsea and the Bush girls?

MO: BO and I think about our kids every single day.

The fawning is unbeleivable.

Jane

Sorry to interrupt the liveblogging , but Obama apparently has pulled the same stunt on Iraq that he did on Canada (LUN).

Apparently the Iraqi foreign minister recalls the conversation with Obama differently than Obama recounts it.

 Ann

MO says it's fun to look pretty.

MO talks about her Chicago designer Maria Pinto.

Whoopi thinks MO is changing the perception of black woman, because they are portrayed as really ugly on TV??? Good Gawd

Barbara talks about woman not wearing panty hose. Barbara has them on, Mo stopped wearing them along time ago because it is painful. (I don't think I can go ON.)

MO entire schedule revolves around her girls and trys to keep things normal for HER GIRLS. She is home most of the time.

Elizabeth asks MO if she is worried about her girls. MO says they keep her grounded.

Commercial

 Ann

bad, Can I borrow some of your medicine. :)

Rick Ballard

"because they are portrayed as really ugly on TV???"

Apparently Whoopi has had the misfortune to see herself on TV. That would certainly skew any sample.

Is I Feel Pretty being used as the background music for this?

 Ann

Whoopi says Obama gave one of the greatest Father Day Speeches.. EVER

MO says we need to talk about accountability, Barack has always been that type of politician. It isn't the first time he gave that speech.

Joy says it is because of unemployment.

MO talks about how blessed she was to have a father. Kids need models and when fathers are missing it is not good.

Elizabeth shows her menu plan for her child when she leaves town.

(DO women actually watch this carp?)

Barbara asks MO if she wanted O to run for the presidency. MO
says she didn't even want him to run for the Senate. MO tells about taking her selfish hat off.

Barack doesn't take out the garbage anymore.

bad

Mo is obviously choosing her words very carefully, smiling, and much more articulate than BO.

Whoops: BO gave greatest Fathers day speech ever.

MO: Doesn't see BO as a politician, He has given that speech many times. His greatest gift to give is not to be like his dad. Families can look like many things. BO flies in for recitals. (think of the carbon footprint)

MO didn't want her husband in politics but quit being selfish because she thinks about the country and her children. BO doesn't take out the garbage.

Whoopi asked for help for flood victims 35 minutes into the show.

Sue

Barack doesn't take out the garbage anymore.

I bet that pisses her off.

centralcal

Wow - you guys are doing great. I had to stifle the gag reflex a few times, your reporting is so good. ha ha.

bad

I guess MO is off the hot seat and Matthew Broderick is coming on as a guest. Will they talk about him and his projects or "Sex in the City?" Will we hear about sex life of MO and BO? The susspense is killing me.

centralcal

poor phrasing on my part - the gag reflex was caused by MO and fawners, not by the reporting!!!!

Sue

Our local talk radio personality is tearing Whoopi to pieces.

Jane

Obama's policy on Iraq over the years coincides with Tony Rezko's business dealings in Iraq. LUN

(Made more interesting after Rezko's complaints about being interrogated about Obama.)

bad

Matthew is wearing a dark suit and shoes and light socks.

Matthew's son is a fan of BO, he is five. He likes the man to beat the lady.

MO: kids are drawn to BO

MO's mother won seventeen thousand dollars playing slots.

centralcal

Jane, according to Rezko's own attorneys he was NEVER interrogated about Obama. They refute the allegations Rezko made in his letter to the Judge!

 Ann

Matthew Broderick has gray hair. Who knew?

MO thinks kids go for Obama because his name is easy to say.
What?

MO's mother won 17,000 at a slot machine. Joy says it is CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN.

I think we can stop now, bad. What nonsense.

bad

Feel free to gag about whatever. This is a weird show. Wasn't it supposed to be more exciting when Rosie O'donell was on it?

Dave
MO thinks kids go for Obama because his name is easy to say.
Tell that to Ted Kennedy.
bad

The breakfast segnebt is starting: Breakfast eaters make more money according to the guest.

MO asks what is the best juice? She asks about pomegranite juice.

Mo is tasting high fiber cereal. Her breakfast is toast, fruit and bacon.

Breakfat lady mentioned soy bacon, Mo smiled and said it sounds "good." BO eats bacon.

Elliott

I knew there'd be pork in her diet.

Elliott

And his.

bad

Elizabth to be on Hannity and Colmes.

bad

My kids are at Youth Camp this week so I didn't stunt their intellectual growth by having that TV show on.

Way to go Ann, you da best!!

Sue

Hell, Obama should have just told everyone he eats bacon for breakfast. The Muslim issue would have been over. But, does he know about high cholesterol?

bad

I am surprised that Michelle would imply on national TV that her family was part of the American dream because her father, a blue collar worker put not only her, but also her brother through Princeton. Hasn't Michelle bitched publically about her college loans or was that just for law school? And wasn't her brother on a sports scholarship?

 Ann

Clarice,

This is the part in the NYT article that I am cynical about.

"She also altered the hospital’s research agenda. When the human papillomavirus vaccine, which can prevent cervical cancer, became available, researchers proposed approaching local school principals about enlisting black teenage girls as research subjects."

"Mrs. Obama stopped that. The prospect of white doctors performing a trial with black teenage girls summoned the specter of the Tuskegee syphilis experiment of the mid-20th century, when white doctors let hundreds of black men go untreated to study the disease."

Would the University of Chicago Medical Center promote testing on just black girls?
Are there only white doctors at the medical center?
Did MO VP of community affairs stop that all by herself?

Rick Ballard

Thanks, Bad and Ann. Good work.

 Ann

Bad, No... you da best. Couldn't of done that by myself.

I think that show is one of the reasons we will never have a woman president.

Sue

Does it mean anything that the court hasn't released anything on the 2nd amendment case yet?

bad

Maybe the college loans MO bitched about in the past were BO's and not hers.

Jane

Jane, according to Rezko's own attorneys he was NEVER interrogated about Obama.

Centralcal,

Yeah, I saw that. The plot does appear to be thickening.

centralcal

The latest Obama flap per Politico is that staffers wouldn't let two women wearing head scarves sit in the "special" area behind Obama at a speaking event. They don't want any Muslim looking people to appear in photos, live shots, etc.

bad

Rick

I was pretty nervous that because of poor typing skills I would miss something. Turns out there was so little said it could have been done as a hunt and peck. I'm curious how this show has been on TV for so long.

centralcal

Well, I think he is spilling his guts and wanted to make it seem that he has been coerced into doing so. He probably didn't count on his attorneys taking away his excuse. Too funny.

centralcal

Thanks to bad and Ann. Michelle Malkin, Townhall, among others, also blogged MO's appearance on the View and you guys matched word for word, eye roll for eye roll, their reports!

Elliott

And wasn't her brother on a sports scholarship?

I don't believe Ivy league schools give athletic scholarships. If there was any scholarship money it would have been for some other reason.

bad

Thanks centalcal.

Porchlight

Thanks bad and Ann - it was very generous of you to have subjected yourselves to that garbage so that we didn't have to!

Jane

Elliott,Ann

My Tiger is out for the year. ACL surgery next up.

And let me add my thanks to Ann and Bad. There is no better way to improve your typing skills than by live blogging bad!

Enlightened

Jeesh Clarice - nice link re Rezko. IIRC - weren't some JOM'ers onto the Auchi/Rezko/Obama connection, like last year or something? I read the link and coulda swore I already knew this. And yet, its only just now getting some legs.

As for MO and The Spew - Hah. I think it was Dick Morris on H&C the other day who said BHO needed to capture the white women/Hillary voters. And lo and behold we get the pleasure of a panderfest on the Spew factor with Whoopi The Ugly TV Black Person and Michelle The Pretty.

Whoop.dee.do.

bad

Michelle's comment about Laura Bush to be discussed on Fox News. Hopefully she did already send the thank you note to Mrs. Bush and not just meant to get around to it. Claims to have addressed it to Madame First Lady if I recall correctly.

bad

...no better way to improve your typing skills than by live blogging bad!

tee hee Then I am definitly a better typist.

Jane, sorry about the ACL, my husband had Achille's surgery in mid April and just yesterday was able to get rid of the crutches.

bad

...The Spew...

A great name, right on target. Supposedly, Cindy McCain did the same thing a while back. Was it the same lovefest?

clarice

Ann, the University of Chicago is in Hyde Park a predominently black part of town. Would the test be ONLY on black girls? I doubt that.Did MO have any reasonable cause based on the decades old Tuskegee experiment to blok this test? No. That experiment was an unfortunate one begun years before medical ethics banned such a thing and certainly the Univ of Chicago, one of the best medical schools in the country would follow today's ethical standards.

Was she even in a position to block the test?

SaveFarris

staffers wouldn't let two women wearing head scarves sit in the "special" area behind Obama at a speaking event.

Obama's press conference stating "Those aren't the campaign volunteers I know" coming in 5 ... 4 ... 3 ...

Thomas Collins

Jane lamented:

"My Tiger is out for the year. ACL surgery next up."

Jane, I'm sorry about your Tiger, but let's cheer for the Celtics! Even my 19 year old daughter, who had never watched an NBA game until last night, was whoopin' it up for the Green Team!

Jane

Would the test be ONLY on black girls?

Better to have them get cervical cancer - the particular strain that the vaccine prohibits is carried by males and can be transmitted with one contact.

Michelle Obama is steeped in the Reverend Wright value system. The country does not need to go in that direction.

Jane

It was a great game Thomas, wasn't it? Tomorrow is the celebration and my beloved brother in law who is having triple by-pass surgery on Monday will get to drive the champs in a duck boat. It's gonna be great!

bad

More via Instapundit from Jennifer Rubin at commentarymagazine.com

According to Kurtzer, Obama had “a picture in his mind of Jerusalem before 1967 with barbed wires and minefields and demilitarized zones.” Kurtzer says that only after the speech did Obama realize it was a “code word” to use the phrase, “but it does not indicate any kind of naivete about foreign affairs.”

Does Kurtzer work for McCain? That explanation is hilarious in a very sad and scary way.

clarice

What a way to prepare for surgery!

As for Tiger being out of commission--there's still Hit.

PeterUK

Muslims barred from picture at Obama rally,/a>

RichatUF

bad-

Here is some background on Daniel Kurtzer. Imagine my surprise that he got his PhD from Columbia (a topic I've alluded to in the comments before).

I also like this bit of conspiricism from Kurtzer, "that only after the speech did Obama realize it was a 'code word'". An undivided Jerusalem a 'code word'? Maybe Obama's allusion to the fall of Jericho had a more sinister purpose afterall.

bad

Peter

Interesting article. Really enjoyed the part about people being shocked that Obama is so different than what he claims to be. Bless their hearts, better late than never.

kim

This discrepancy between what Rezko wrote to the judge about being quizzed about Obama, and what his attorney says denying any such contact is going to have legs. Much as I despise Fitz for his broken concept of justice, I'd have to admire his persistence when he thinks he's being messed with. And who here doesn't think Obama has an illegal relationship with Rezko?

Are you listening, superdelegates? Rick, keep sharpening the oaken stakes.
================================

kim

Hillary has been awfully quiet, lately.
======================

Thomas Collins

I'm going to be out of town and will miss the parade, Jane. Godspeed to your brother in law on his surgery. And I hope he has fun Duckboating the Celtics around.

PeterUK

bad,
Obama can't fit all Muslims under the bus,he'll have to ask for a volunteer.
An interesting though,if Obama keeps divesting himself of inconvenient associations, who,in the final analysis, does he represent?

Jane

Thanks Thomas. I hope he gets Paul Pierce's duck!

HoosierHoops

"An advisor, Daniel Kurtzer, to Barack Obama says that Obama didn’t realize what he was saying to AIPAC when he used the term 'undivided' in reference to Jerusalem."
Posted by: bad |

Well he just threw a whole city under the bus..
We need more buses..

bad

Thanks for the background Rich. With advisors like that who needs enemies?

Peter, BO wasn't divesting himself of anyone, it was his staff who weren't the staff he used to know...

GMax

Wait a second the explanation from the Kurtzer guy is that Obama was thinking back to 1967 or before Jerusalem? What? How old was Barack, three? Think he was thinking anything about Jerusalem back then?

No I vote naive, I probably could be convinced that it was really a pander with high cynicism though. One of the two for sure, now though. Not a misunderstood code word from a picture in his head from his youth.

hit and run

Isn't it Kurtzer who is throwing Obama under the bus?

Which would. Get quite dicey for Obama. There are a lot of people under there pissed at Obama.

Of course Kurtzer doesn't have that kind of power. But give him an A for effort.

kim

You see, if it's true that Fitz questioned Rezko about Obama then he may be on to something. If it's not true, Fitz will be angry and wonder if there is fire behind the smoke. Either way sounds like trouble for Obama. This contradiction is mysterious; why would the attorney deny it? I can't figure this out, and given that there probably is fire behind the smoke, maybe it will get fanned.

Any ideas about this contradiction? I'm stumped, but can't help but believe it is important.
============================

kim

Is there anyway to find out if Fitz has questioned Obama?

We should wonder. This board knows better how Fitz operates than Fitz does.
====================================

Sue

JM Hanes,

Have you seen http://polarik.blogtownhall.com/2008/06/20/was_obamas_certificate_of_birth_manufactured.thtml>this ? It seems to pick up and expand on your theories about why the birth certificate is fake.

kim

Sue, fascinating, but why would someone fake it. Birth records are public information; any reporter can get a certified copy of his birth certificate. Surely this has been done.

And given the blow-up over the TANG memos, who would be foolish enough to try this stunt?

Well, hubritic individuals, like Mary Mapes, and Barack Hussein Obama II, that's who.
=================================

centralcal

Kim, not all states release birth records to just anyone who asks. The State of Illinois, for one. You have to be the person or a relative with a reason for the request (I personally had to go through this process a few years ago for a family member).

kim

Thanks, cc, maybe I'm thinking of death certificates.
==============================

GMax

Hawaii is reportedly a nondisclosure state so no reporter gets the birth certificate direct from the State.

kim

OK, I could use some background on why this is controversial. I guess I missed JMH's concerns. I think I ignored this earlier because I thought it was a red herring. Where he was born can be proven, even in this era of subjective truth.
===========================

clarice

Yes, Hawaii does not publicly release them AND when states do release them they often don't release copies of the originals but rather reformulated documents with the relevant information.
The whole birth certificate thingy always struck me as a dead end.

Rick Ballard

"Any ideas about this contradiction?"

My understanding (and I may very well be wrong) is that the letter to the judge was written as a gesture to forestall Fitz from pursuing a denial of bail. The Feds are still arguing against the return of a portion of the bail money on the theory that it is actually "stolen money". Rezko was like a bank robber trying to make bail with the proceeds of his theft.

The publication of the letter is (again, IMO) innoculation by "Friends of Blag and BHO" who are just a tiny bit concerned about what Rezko might be offering in return for a sentence reduction.

Rezko's attorney's explication of the facts refuting his client's lies to the judge are based upon his assessment of the probable use of the letter to impeach Rezko when he testifies concerning the Middle Eastern Senatorial and Gubernatorial Rental Outreach Program.

He does have a point. "Were you lieing to the judge or are you lieing now?" will roll off Blag and BHO's defense counsel's tongue with great facility should Rezko be put on the stand.

clarice

Your honor, I was under great duress and had misunderstood what the proseuction wanted when my lawyer's conversation with me over the phone suffered from poor reception,

Maestro, the theme from "Chicago" please..shuffle,shuffle, tap, tap, turn and bow

kim

Heh, clarice, just exactly the sort of monkey business that should piss off Fitz. Well, c'mon, my good man, get with it.
============================

hit and run

Sitting at gate E38 at DFW I can't keep up with the conversation

(thought I could catch an earlier flight but no have been here for a couple hours and will be here for a couple more)

But...can I just express my utter disappointment with the Obama (who may be a Muslim, who may have been born in Indonesia, and who may be associated with terrorists for all we know) rapid response smear-fighting team of super duper cybernauts?

At least we know that Michelle is anti-American.

And we know that Obama can't even be trusted to speak to a group of Jewish supporting Americans without simultaneously pissing both them and Muslims off.

I mean this as a smear. An honest to goodness, but based on fact smear.

Sorry a few hours in an airport brings out such belligerence.

I Blame Bush Being Subjected to Non-Stop CNN.

And I credit beer. Shiner Bock to be precise.

Sue

Kim,

Birth records are public information; any reporter can get a certified copy of his birth certificate.

Not necessarily. In Texas, you wouldn't be able to see my birth certificate or get a copy of it. Death certificate either.

Jane

Now Sue, I know for a fact you are not dead.

bad

Sue

So far you are the only one I've read who made the muslim connection to bacon. Don't mean to be cynical but I've wondered if that was a calculated answer since the guests were all known long in advance. If so, the word is not getting out.

centralcal

Uh, Sue - maybe it depends on which county in Texas? I admit it was several years ago, but I called to get a certified copy of my birth certificate (absolutely didn't have to do a thing to prove my identity). Within a week, I had it in the mail, BUT, it was someone else's birth certificate (similar, but not identical name) and it would make me younger (alleluia!). Anyway, I called again telling of the error, they apologized and sent the correct one a few days later. AND THEY NEVER ASKED FOR THE OTHER ONE BACK!

GMax

UH Jews dont eat pork either.

GMax

CentralCal

Dont fret in an Obama administration that will change. He will move all of those folks to dealing with your health care coverage...

bad

Just saw a clip of Obama speaking from prepared notes laying on a podium, not on a teleprompter. It was hard for him to read the notes and maintain that nose in the air pose that he favors. Hope he didn't get whiplash.

kim

There are excellent public policy reasons that birth and particularly death certificates be public information, but I'll readily admit that I don't know how the law has dealt with those reasons.
===============================

Soylent Red

I looked at the birth cert, and having had some experience with Photoshop in the past, the analysis is correct.

But...

There are a lot of legitimate reasons why a new document would be cooked up, the most obvious being that it was a printout from a computer generated form driven off of a database. Lotsa government agencies ported all of their analog information over into the digital realm for the purposes of saving space, going paperless, blah, blah.

The key, I think, is the certification. No document is an official document unless it certified as such. Where I was born, even new birth certs have to be physically stamped with some kind of embossing thingamajig. I don't know how it works in Hawaii, but that would be the way I would follow up on it.

Personally, I think the whole thing is probably nothing.

Bill in AZ

This board knows better how Fitz operates than Fitz does.
FitzLaw prosecutes victims and gets them off the street so perps will eventually have to make an honest living. If I were a Republican hospital administrator opposed to MO's 200K raise, I would be keeping a low profile while Fitz is around. I wouldn't even say "Good Morning" to Fitz, just in case it wasn't, so I wouldn't get hung with a perjury charge.

Sue

Jane,

Now Sue, I know for a fact you are not dead.

And you know that how? ::grin::

I didn't read what I typed. Obviously.

C-Cal,

Uh, Sue - maybe it depends on which county in Texas?

If you try now, I bet you couldn't. Identity theft has caused all kinds of things to be changed. In order to get a copy of a death certificate for an estate I am working on, I have to sign an affidavit that I am obtaining it for estate purposes. I can't even get a copy of someone's marriage license unless I state, under oath, the reason I want it and how I am related to one of the parties. Same thing for birth certificates. When I first started working in the legal field, we put SS#s on documents that were public record. The clerk's are busy scrubbing personal identifaction off all public records.

Sue

From the http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/VS/reqproc/faq/birthdeath.shtm>State's website on vital records.

Porchlight

FWIW, I had to go to the vital records office here in TX to get a cert. copy of my daughter's birth certificate just last week. It is a dot matrix printout, complete with holes on the sides, on a pre-printed form which is watermarked. It has two seals, State of TX and the Dept of State Health Services, which are "punched" in the manner of a notary seal. It also has a pre-printed sig of the state registrar, and the date issued, neither of which were on Obama's certificate. But of course states may vary in these things.

Sue

I bet there are copies of his birth certificate in the hands of people he has forgotten about. I had copies of birth certificates of girls that I coached in softball tournaments. Threw them away a few years ago, but I bet they either didn't remember or never knew (since their parents provided them to me) I had them to begin with.

Jane

Sue,

I can tell by the ::'s

sbw

Hmmm. From the Hawaii State Department of Health:

Letters of verification may be issued in lieu of certified copies (HRS §338-14.3). This document verifies the existence of a birth/death/marriage/divorce certificate on file with the Department of Health and any other information that the applicant provides to be verified relating to the vital event. (For example, that a certain named individual was born on a certain date at a certain place.) The verification process will not, however, disclose information about the vital event contained within the certificate that is unknown to and not provided by the applicant in the request.
...
The fee for a letter of verification is $5 per letter.
