Joe Biden, Gaffe-O-Matic:
"Catholic social doctrine as I was taught it is, you take care of people who need the help the most," Mr. Biden preached to a group of union supporters on Thursday.
No, he is not talking about unborn kids here - Catholic doctrine on that point is not a firm foundation upon which a Dem can legislate because that is "legislating morality", or ignoring the division of church and state, or something.
However, if God commands a Dem to raise taxes on the upper classes, it is full speed ahead.
Joe take care of others that need it out of your own pocket, not the pocket of others. Didn't notice much in the way of charitable contributions on your tax returns Joe. Liberals are always generous with someone elses money. Makes me want to scream.

"Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have extracted money by threat of force from the wealthy (but not those so wealthy as to be politically untouchable) and given it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it* unto me."
*The rendering unto, not the extracting by threat from.

So all the people who are going to pay lower taxes can now feel like good Catholics for having people that earn more pay higher taxes on their behalf. That is a new morality.
I love Laura Linney as an actress, but they are replaying her Emmy acceptance last night and her community organizer crack was so stupid, Almost as stupid as Recount getting so many nominations even though about 5 people watched it.

I may just be more cynical than usual here, but don't most people seem to discover that God and their religion want them to do whatever it is they've decided to do anyway?

Biden is trading he fooled all the Catholics into putting in Bill. That's how he got in.

There's a reason actors need to work from scripts.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – A new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll suggests that by a 2-to-1 margin, Americans blame Republicans over Democrats for the financial crisis that has swept across the country the past few weeks — one factor that may have contributed to an apparent increase in Barack Obama’s edge over John McCain in the race for the White House.
In the new survey, released Monday afternoon, 47 percent of registered voters questioned say Republicans are more responsible for the problems currently facing financial institutions and the stock market, with 24 percent saying Democrats are more responsible. One in five of those polled blame both parties equally, and 8 percent say neither party is to blame.

Is it the same reason Obama works from a script?

Well, there's also a reason Obama insisting on changing the order of the Presidential debates so that they start with foreign policy on Friday, not the economy, as planned -- so to speak.

JMH,
When did they change it? Just this weekend they were saying economy would be Friday night.

O'Reilly is doing an Obama/Ayers/Dorhn segment tonight, I think.
Posted by: Sara (Pal2Pal) | September 22, 2008 at 06:20 PM
Sara:
Here is how Ted Baxter will frame the show: "I belive the senator is a stand up guy, and that he did not realize the gravity of the Ayers' past. Obama is an idealist and turned to William Ayers and Bernadine Dorn because of what he thought was there progressive (Ted will use finger quotes) views on education. Any real chance the far right has to tie the senator to the weather underground will not get traction with fair minded folks."
Clueless extraordinaire

Of course, if Saracuda mentions (or not) her church, that means the GOP ticket will lead us to a theocratic dictatorship.
But if Slo Joe mentions it, no biggie.

He is good on some things like the hollywood left. However, he will not take the time or effort to be a killer on certain issues like OBVIOUS and GLARING ties to 60's commie terrorists. I think he got burned a few years back and he has been on a silly crusade to appear fair because like most of us he wnats to be accepted. Oh well, we all new he would not be up to the challenge on Ayers.

This doesn't even make sense. Hoover was president in 1929 and I'm positive they didn't have television. In fact, who had a TV before April 1945 when FDR died? Did anyone?

Philo Farnsworth invented TV in the 20s.
He also invented a fusion reactor (the precursor to the Bussard Fusion Reactor sometimes called Polywell) in the late 50s.
He worked with Robert Hirsch who also worked with Bussard at the AEC.

A statement from Joe, released tonight by the Obama campaign:

"Catholic social doctrine as I was taught it is, you take care of people who need the help the most,".
The Senator is mistaken. Catholic social doctrine is "I take care of people who need the help most" as best I can. (Note the Senator's history of charitable contributions) The poor Senator is confused about what rendering to Caesar is all about in the worst way.

Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But at these words he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property. And Jesus, looking around, said to His disciples, “How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!” The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” (Mk 10:21-25)
