Frau Jedöns

Even if the a-hole who bows to a Saudi king ...

Pres. Hype-n-Chains did MORE than bow. A sign of respect can be given with a slight dip of the head. Number 44 went *down on one leg* while bending from the waist. IMHO that proves he went beyond displaying respect to being subservient. That's disgusting. Pfui, Deuvel!

Charlie (Colorado)

I never knew what "teabagging" meant. Thank goodness for the Greg-alogue.

As Norton said last night, the most amazing thing ablut it is that it doesn't actually sound like a lot of fun for anyone involved.

Not to mention the view.

Charlie (Colorado)

Remember me quoting Ghandiji yesterday?

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) blasted "tea party" protests yesterday, labeling the activities "despicable" and shameful."\

Stage 3.

Captain Hate

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) blasted "tea party" protests yesterday, labeling the activities "despicable" and shameful."

WTF is it with Ill pols; first I thought Durbin was alone at the bottom and now this simple polack makes an absolute ass out of herself. It's like Solidarnosc wouldn't have existed if it were up to this quisling skeev.

Right to assemble, bitchezzzzz; love it or shove it.

pagar

When one thinks of Obama and Schakowsky, always keep in mind:

Robert Creamer, the husband of U. S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill) who was sentenced to jail for running a community group and paying himself big bucks while banks held the bag, has been teaching a group of young (mostly) volunteers for the presidential campaign of Barack Obama, I am exclusively revealing today.

the idea of a convicted felon who kited checks lecturing the supposedly idealistic Obama campaign on how to raise money and get elected is a bit much.

verner

C Hate, I'm lovin it. Keep it up Schako!!!

More More More. Let's get all those Grannies at the tea parties on the watch list cause they're toting homemade "Don't tax me Bro"posters...racist! extremist!terrorist!

Just make sure we get her on youtube when she says it.

Ignatz

They've had success peddling just about every other meme....

Peddling memes I don't mind;
Pedaling mimes on the other hand give me the pip.

clarice

The Congresswoman has a different notion of despicable and shameful than I do though I can see why she'd be concerned about anything which might effect Obama's tenure.

Captain Hate

As Norton said last night, the most amazing thing ablut it is that it doesn't actually sound like a lot of fun for anyone involved.

Wrong; when you got your hand at the rim and your nads in somebody's face, that's flat-out heaven on earth.

That's basketball I'm talking you sick pervs!!!

Captain Hate

Don't tax me Bro

Lollerz

Maybe it's time CNN hired real reporters:

FOX RATINGS SURGE ON PROTEST COVERAGE
8-11 PM ET

FOXNEWS 3,390,000
MSNBC 1,210,000
CNN 1,070,000
CNN HEADLINE 909,000

bad

Captain, I promise not to say a word about John Kerry, the hat, and me. I refuse to upset you with stuff like that.

Captain Hate

OT: John Madden is retiring to spend more time with his food. Er, I mean family.

He couldn't imagine life without Brett Favre.

I used to really enjoy Madden but since the early part of the new century, he's really been mailing it in. Saying stuff like "Your primary object is to get into the end zone" when it's fourth and goal isn't exactly insight that I can't find elsewhere. OTOH, if they do something *really* stoopid like replace him with Olbermann or Bryant Gumble, I'll immediately miss him.

daddy

Concerning "TeaBagging," nutcase CNN reporters, and Dr J's "Ouch"">http://failblog.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/fail-owned-swimmer-fail.jpg?w=500&h=3">"Ouch" above;

CNN International's sarcastically Anti-American values correspondent, Richard Quest has been the world leader in this department for years. Remember Quest's">http://www.nypost.com/seven/04192008/news/regionalnews/kinky_news_network">Quest's drug arrest in Central Park last year, where we learned " CNN personality Richard Quest was busted in Central Park early yesterday with some drugs in his pocket, a rope around his neck that was tied to his genitals...",

That rope trick would surely help prevent Dr J's "Ouch", and by chance has anybody heard Dick Quest asked to respond to Anderson Cooper's TeaBagging comment? That I would love to see.

verner

Holy Moly Clarice! Fox beat ALL THREE OF THEM COMBINED!

No wonder they're so hateful.

If only they'd reaalize, Obama supporters don't watch the news...

Captain Hate

bad, I knew you were just kidding because there's no way you have more money than Terezzzzzzaaaa, and that's what gets that pompous cabana boy hot and bothered.

bad

Shimon Shiffer, the Yedioth Achronoth correspondent and one of Israel's top journalists, is reporting today that Rahm Emanuel told a top Jewish organizational figure that President Obama intends to see a Palestinian state created during his first term.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

verner

Daddy, I have a great come back to the Quest-Cooper-teabagging post, but I just can't bring myself to write and post it.

Use your sordid imagination. Got it? That's about right...

verner

Bad, hows that going to happen when Hamas wants a one state solution--you know, killing 90% of the Jews and driving what's left into the sea.

I honestly don't know how Rahm sleeps at night.

bad

Makes ya wonder if that's O's plan as well, Verner.

Captain Hate

I honestly don't know how Rahm sleeps at night.

He doesn't; he's out cutting the heads off horses then.

centralcal

Okay, yesterday I was just about to ask for someone here to explain the "teabagging" vulgarity thing to me, because I had never heard that phrase. Fortunately (or not?) I saw it explained at Ace's. Good ole Ace . . . he always educates.

I agree with all the others (both here and elsewhere on the net) who think Cooper has had quite a bit of experience with it.

Rick Ballard

"I honestly don't know how Rahm sleeps at night."

Hanging by his feet, with his wings wrapped around him. Same as always.

Danube of Thought

For an off-air sequel to that horrid CNN woman's performance, LUN. Amazing what the network elected not to show.

I hear Cris Collinsworth is replacing Madden, which is fine by me.

bad

Thanks for that link DoT. That horrible woman should be grateful for the internet. Without internet clips, many people would never see CNN at all.

Granted, they're clips that reinforce my decision not to watch CNN.... whatev...

PD

I myself have never gone out with Ted Turner *or* Anderson Cooper. Just for the record.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who had never heard of this meaning of teabagging. Ick. Perhaps not quite so bad as goatse, though.

JM Hanes

Patrick R. Sullivan:

For some reason, your link reminded me of the first CBO chart in this Republican press release from last year. While it only goes from 1979 to 2005 which makes for a steeper slope, the effective federal tax rate for folks in the middle quintile has been on a notable downward trajectory for fully half of the years included in Hennessey's graphs. I know that's clearly an apples to oranges comparison, but I wonder if the same trend lines between the state, local, and federal take of the GDP, would also hold true in in terms of effective tax rates, or if the middle quintile burden has been declining on all fronts.

One of the encouraging upshots of Obama's aggressive move toward federalization at every level has been the resurgent interest in plugging the States back into the public dialogue and the political equation. Hennesey's charts were a fascinating, and surprising to me, bird's eye view of what's been going on while I wasn't really looking.

JM Hanes

I was clueless about the teabagging vernacular too. I wouldn't be surprised to hear it on the web, but perhaps I should be grateful that I can still be shocked by such casual, on air, sexual vulgarity from a prominent news anchor.

In a counter-intuitive reverse, perhaps tea bagging is a term that might actually end up being rehabilitated.

Ignatz

Perhaps not quite so bad as goatse, though.

WTH?

First teabagging and now "goatse"?

Either that's a very sick typo which left out an x or its some new term that I have no intention of googling.
Still rinsing my eyes out for my efforts to learn the definition of teabagging.

PD

Neither a typo nor missing an "x", and, you're right, you don't want to google it to find out.

Richard Quest, CNN International

You American Right Wing Extremists are crazy. Anderson Cooper is a wonderful person and we've shared teabags many times.

MayBee

I was clueless about the teabagging vernacular too. I wouldn't be surprised to hear it on the web, but perhaps I should be grateful that I can still be shocked by such casual, on air, sexual vulgarity from a prominent news anchor.

I knew about teabagging and can be as vulgar as the next wench.
But...I found the casual, frequent use of the term by news anchors utterly shocking and unacceptable.

daddy

Verner,

Since Anderson Cooper is over here, and they are divided by the Atlantic Ocean, I can only assume that's a long range Dick Quest.

JM Hanes

MayBee:

Neither my kids nor I are prudes either, but when they would probably refer me to the urban dictionary for an explanation too, I'd say a term is definitely over the top for nightly new. I'm sorry to discover that the difference between Jon Stewart and Anderson Cooper is being so rapidly erased. I thought Cooper had a brilliant career ahead of him, because back when he played a supporting role, he asked all the right questions. Then he was precipitously cast as the celebrity lead, and two hours is a lot of time to fill. I've always wondered about the backstory when Aaron Brown was so unceremoniously dumped.

Sue

Why does FoxNews keep Geraldo Rivera around?

PD

"Balance"

Sue

Balance? You mean sane and looney?

bad

lol, Sue

PD

Something like that, yeah. :-)

Sue

He is the laughing stock of all "journalists".

centralcal

Sue, Geraldo is so pathetic. Roger Ailes must be keeping him on to either fulfill an already agreed to contract or for the "balance" PD alluded to.

Yet, Alan Colmes is gone and barely makes a rare appearence, so there is always hope that when contract negotiations are due - Geraldo is another Alan Colmes.

And, has anyone caught Rebecca Gomez (can't remember her married name) when she does guest spots on FNC (rather than FBC)? Holy cow - she is an Obama maniac from the word "go."

Jane

My sentiments exactly Sue. I saw the same piece you did. The man is a moron.

Sue

It doesn't bother me that he supports Obama. He is just stupid.

Captain Hate

But...I found the casual, frequent use of the term by news anchors utterly shocking and unacceptable.

The news is garbage; why do you think we hang out here? At least we care about finding out what's going on.

PD

Gomez -> Diamond

I actually think she makes a good foil when she's on Hannity. She almost automatically takes the opposite position of Sean, but usually has reasons for what she says. There was an episode last week where she completely schooled him and left him gasping, not sure what hit him.

centralcal

Re: Gomez-Diamond

If you say so PD. But, I am not yet convinced. Schooling Hannity is not a hard task, since his talking points are quite limited. However, Rebecca is passionate about her President Barack. And, good for her, I guess.

Sue

Oh dear lord. I want to know who organized these tea parties? Who are the big dollar donors that want to keep the taxes for the rich low? Name some names Pelosi or STFU.

Pofarmer

Uhmmmm, Holy carp.

These tea parties really stirred things up.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) blasted "tea party" protests yesterday, labeling the activities "despicable" and shameful."

"The ‘tea parties’ being held today by groups of right-wing activists, and fueled by FOX News Channel, are an effort to mislead the public about the Obama economic plan

More at the Market ticker, LUN.

PD

Well, i admit I find her more persuasive when she's just talking about the economy than if the discussion is about Obama himself.

 Ann

I love the ladies at JOM. You have this impeccable list of men you would fight for and another list of dirtbag morons that you disregard with good reason. I always agree.

Oh, wait a minute, Stephanie mentioned Ted Turner. I have to rethink this....:)

(kidding Steph!)

PD

When Pelosi made her claim that the tea parties are just astroturfing, I wish the interviewer had asked her to define astroturfing. I wonder if she actually knows what it is, or whether she was simply parroting a talking point that was given to her.

bad

PD, I've seen nothing from Pelosi ever that implies she knows anything about anything.

Sue

PD,

I think she knows what the term means. What I wanted the interviewer to ask was who are the money people behind the astroturfers she is referring to? Who organized these tea parties? Who funded them? Name the names. Her forehead might actually wrinkle through the botox if they asked her to defend her accusations.

Captain Hate

Pelosi Galore prolly knows who to call in Baltimore to get somebody whacked. Beyond that not so much....

PD

Sue, maybe she does. But I'd like to see the proof. Along with her "evidence" for her claims of who the backers are, of course.

What I find particularly disturbing is her need to show contempt for ordinary citizens who show a desire to participate in their own democracy. She's just fine with illegal aliens. But we regular legal citizens who pay the bills, we deserve only opprobrium.

MayBee

Citizens United probably sent Pelosi a fax about how the Tea Parties were astroturfed. I'm guessing Axelrod told Citizens United, then they passed it on to her.

clarice

I'm so confused. I thought dissent was the highest form of patriotism---after paying taxes.

bad

Dissent is extremely patriotic --if you are a democrat.

Paying taxes is patriotic -- if you are a republican.

clarice

Thanks,bad. I figured I was missing something.

 Ann

I think this thread needs another "Rush On A Roll". Hopefully, it will bait and educate someone:

Rush H. Limbaugh, Jr. On A Roll

JM Hanes

"Citizens United probably sent Pelosi a fax about how the Tea Parties were astroturfed. I'm guessing Axelrod told Citizens United, then they passed it on to her."

ROTFL! Have I told you lately that I love you?

daddy

Ann,

"I love the ladies at JOM. You have this impeccable list of men you would fight for and another list of dirtbag morons that you disregard with good reason."

I 'm with you 100 percent Ann. Here's some other females">http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/wildlife/5163589/Females-get-along-fine-without-males---in-the-world-of-tropical-ants.html">females that probably wouldn't date Ted Turner either.

 Ann

daddy,

The JOM ladies love men to much to go that far but I wish Ted Turner would date one.

Love your posts. Have no fear, you are on the good list! :)
