Here is Deep Thought on Sarah Palin's response to David Letterman's disgraceful jokes about her and her daughter:

Of course, David Letterman happens to be a comedian. Comedians sometimes go over the line. It’s not like a senator (McCain) making a joke like, “Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.” Or Ted Nugent using foul language to viciously denigrate elected officials and claimng (sic) he was doing comedy.  The best think (sic) Palin could have done would have been to laugh it off.

Uh huh.  Because we all respect mothers who won't protect their daughters.

Since he mentioned John McCain, let's note that McCain apologized to the Clintons.

Colmes did not mention David Shuster, who was suspended for his "pimped out" comment about the untouchable Chelsea Clinton.  Granted, Shuster is more of a clown that a comic, but Letterman still commands a notable national audience.  And in this day and age, the line between comedy and news is wildly blurred - should politicians ignore Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert?  How about Letterman and the now-retired Leno, who host politicians all the time?  Well, ignoring Colmes would be a logical starting point for a bipartisan consensus.

Whatever.  The best think Colmes could have down is combine proofreading with SpellCheck, followed by generous use of the "Delete" key.

Well what I found startling today was something that occurred on the Dennis Miller Show. I thought Eamon came off as a bit too cool and a bit of an apologist for Obama, but that's my bias. What I don't give him a break on, and you could sense that it struck Dennis as well, was that Dennis asked him what he thought of Evan Thomas of NewsWeeks comment over the weekend to Chris Matthews calling Obama "Like a God."
Eamon said that he hadn't seen it. So here you have the Politico guy writing about Obama/Jesus and Religion, and he hadn't found the 15 seconds necessary to see the "Like a God" quote. Said he had read about it but hadn't gotten around to watching it.
Instantly Dennis said "play it, and in 5 seconds the clip was playing. Then he asked for comment and Eamon basically blew it off as relatively unimportant political yakity-yak, etc.

My point, and what I am sure I shared with Dennis Miller, was the fact that the Politico Expert guy doing such a story was too lazy to put out the effort to educate himself on one of the biggest instances of Obama Religious Presstitution we are ever likely to see in our lifetimes.
