Might mention that the black guy holding the Obama=Hitler poster in those videos is a Dem plant. That to me is more convincing than the provenance of the artwork.

Jack is Back!

Anyone who opposes Obama's big government, wealth distribution, socialist agenda is both a racist and a nazi, don't ya see? It is also now un-american and un-patriotic to oppose anything the congress or the administration (and soon the supreme court) proposes. It would not surprise me to see a resurrection of the old HUAC (House Un-American Activities Committee) under the leadership of Dragon Lady Pelosi. And who better to run the Senate version of Tail Gunner Joe's committee than Swift Boat Johnny Kerry! But maybe they won't need to do that what with Holder and his fantasy league investigation of the CIA interrogators. They are going to have to do something to take their incompetency on health care, crap and trade and government motors off the front page and distract us while passing more tyranny and less liberty.

Jack is Back!

I forgot: why is it that the left and the dems seem to be the ones who always use the Nazi/Hitler tag (Durbin, Pelosi, MSM) but it is the right that gets all the blame? Who started the Bush/Hitler invective? Not the right, not the RNC, not Limbaugh or Hannity or Levin or Beck but the left -especially the Huffpo, Kos, MYdd, etc. And isn't it amazing that our media has such a lazy view of history. Nazi is short-form for National Socialist and the one thing Nazi's were not was conservative libertarians or right wing. But to the left, Dems and MSM they are everything that the right or Republicans represent. Based on what? Imagination and hate filled spleen.

Ignatz

This kind of reminds me of my Sex Pistol's political theory.
They made songs that were anti public display of homosexuality, anti abortion, anti slacker and equated Britain's 1970s era Labor economy to East Germany's.

It's quite a commentary when nuts like Johnny Rotten, Sid Vicious and Lyndon Larouche maintain political views on a higher moral plane than the Dems.

Parking Lot

((A Pro-Life Democrat? Hard to imagine. ))

Well there's Bob Casey Jr. who beat Rick Santorum

((Casey, like his late father, is pro-life. He has publicly stated his support for overturning Roe v. Wade.[6] From Casey's election until Specter's party switch in April of 2009, Pennsylvania had the distinction of being represented in the Senate by a pro-life Democrat and a pro-choice Republican (Arlen Specter).)) narciso

Well he says that PL, but what has been his actual voting record on the issue.

Rick Sanchez is an idiot

CNN is now pushing a line that the protesters are idiots because they don't understand "that there isn't one bill". They use this now to "debunk" any claim against Dear Leader-care. It is hard to believe but CNN may be more hack-based right now than MSNBC.

Boatbuilder

Lyndon LaRouche is still alive? Who knew?

PD

Well, ... I agree about the incompetence/mendacity of the MSM. But does LaRouche have a point? Someone spell out for me the clear differences between Obama's administration and tactics and those of Hitler.

Yeah, one was white, the other is only half-white. One has a moustache, the other doesn't. What else?

Do you, like me, find it easier to list similarities than differences?

bgates

Do you, like me, find it easier to list similarities than differences?

No. But I'm sane.

Rob Crawford

CNN is now pushing a line that the protesters are idiots because they don't understand "that there isn't one bill".

Doesn't that apply equally as well to those declaring "it's not in the bill"? You know, like The Won?

Porchlight

Doesn't that apply equally as well to those declaring "it's not in the bill"? You know, like The Won?

My thoughts exactly...

Man, do I dislike these people.

narciso

BTW, I got this from ACE, but here are the sterling sources they used for that very accurate DHS report this spring.

Ignatz

--Yeah, one was white, the other is only half-white. One has a moustache, the other doesn't. What else?--

No offense PD, but the Beer Hall putsch, the Reichstag fire, Krystalnacht, the Night of the Long Knives, the Sudetenland, Poland, France, Belgium, the London Blitz, Stalingrad, Operation Barbarossa overall, Auschwitz, Treblinka, the Final Solution overall and a few hundred other examples seem to be pretty clear examples of diffrences between Hitler's and Barry's tactics.

The D in ODS is just as bad as the D in BDS.

Grace O'Malley

The Democrats have been calling Republicans Nazi's since Truman used it against Dewey.

narciso

LaRouche is a former PLP Maoist, from the same wellspring as the 'wonderful' Lenora
Fulani' New Alliance, he thinks Obama's plan doesn't go far enough, a remarkable nutberger

in_awe

Did you see the SEIU ad featuring their beat down of the healthcare opponent in St. Louis as evidence that Obama detractors are inciting violence?

Why what is that sound? Could it be be the Dems planting agents provocateur to rationalize the re imposition of the Fairness Doctrine in an attempt to silence dissent?

matt

isn't there a secret connection between the Larouchies and the Scientologists? their aluminum foil helmets are almost identical in design, for one.

No ne has ever seen Lyndon LaRouche and L. Ron Hubbard in the same room together. Sort of like Michael and LaToya Jackson....I'm just sayin....

boris

"The D in ODS is just as bad as the D in BDS"

Other than it stands for the same word ... not even close.

BDS was essentially mainstream. M.Moore sat in Jimmuh Carter's box at the 2004 convention. The TANG memos were broadcast news with obvious (obvious!) fake documents (as in photo copy of 3 dollar bill fake) which Rather STILL claims is unproven (he would have to analyze the original 3 dollar bill to know if the photo copy was fake). The Katrina lies were outrageous and still asserted as fact. No. And ... that's the mainstream dimorats ... the left wing BDS was extreem beyond anything the kookiest birther has proposed.

There is no comparison. False equivalence. More harm than good to even hint.

Ayers blew up stuff, his bombs killed people (in Darwinian fashion) and without remorse he is setting public shool ciricula for US kids.

drjohn

CNN is now pushing a line that the protesters are idiots because they don't understand "that there isn't one bill".

CNN: doing the job Obama is flailing at.

drjohn

Show the media a Hitler poster and they see a deranged righty.

Funny how failed to notice all those Bushitler pcitures.

To wit:

narciso

I do remember an early version of this, with the first President Bush, something
called the "Panama Deception" narrated by
ole Samantha herself, the Late Elizabeth
Montgomery, were they didn't suffice to accuse Us troops of cold blooded murder,
they threw lasers (without sharks) into the mix. The sad thing it received an Oscar nomination for documentary. Birtherism can get unhinged at time, but it has no purchase
on mass media support like TRutherism

gmax

I think I saw LaToya and Michael in the same large assembly hall the other day, on TV. You saw it too.

Now a harder one is who has seen Lyndon LaRouche and sanity in the same room at the same time? That is one that will escape even the most observant.

Neo

I've always classified Lyndon LaRouche as a "Radical".
Frankly, this guy doesn't need any more adjectives (like liberal or conservative) as most groups that claim those other adjectives don't want him.

matt

wait a minute! I'm getting a message from Xenu.....shhhh....Obama has an excess of thetans and must be ergolized immediately for the good of the country.....get him to the nearest Scientology Center immediately or we are all in danger.

I decrypted this with my special Hope & Change decoder ring the SEIU gave me, so it must be true.

madawaskan

Well...

They had idiot trolls running around saying-

"Read the bill".

Then when you read the bill and discover just some of the crap that they aren't telling you they say-

"We have five different committees working on five different variants." blah, blah, bal-

Then they say-

"Trust us".

I second Porchlight's sentiment.

But, what's even worse is that these people HATE Republicans, you can SEE the body language of even their PROFESSIONAL politicians and we are suppose to trust them with-

our-

Health Care.

glasater

One fellow I read from time to time--especially the forums at Asia Times--David Goldsmith aka Spengler spent some time in the LaRouche camp.

I'll try to find the attribution but regular readers here may know of this fact.

glasater

Besides--the esteemed Thomas Sowell has already called Zero's administration fascist.

madawaskan

One of the biggest obfuscations-

Over and over again Obama says you can keep your current health care plan-while that might be true in legalese dialectic-it isn't.

Sure you can keep it, but will it get pulled out from under you do to variables beyond your control-

YOU BET.

"The Bill" is full of Miss Rhoda from Romper Room "punishments" if you are just nutty enough to insist on keeping YOUR Plan.

First-

‘SEC. 59B. TAX ON INDIVIDUALS WITHOUT ACCEPTABLE HEALTH CARE COVERAGE.
23
‘(a) Tax Imposed- In the case of any individual who does not meet the requirements of subsection (d) at any time during the taxable year, there is hereby imposed a tax equal to 2.5 percent of the excess of--

1) the taxpayer’s modified adjusted gross income for the taxable year, over
‘(2) the amount of gross income specified in section 6012(a)(1) with respect to the taxpayer.

Does the bill tell you what "unacceptable" health coverage is?

I'm not sure, maybe that's yet to be determined-but- remember their entreaty-

"Trust us!"

Then if that doesn't work they have all kinds of fines and punishments, [and probably a slew of new government workers to implement them] to get employers and businesses to conform.

Here in 'the bill" is what happens if they don't-

‘SEC. 805. [...] Enforcement of Health Coverage Participation Requirements- Section 502 of such Act (29 U.S.C. 1132) is amended--
(1) in subsection (a)(6), by striking ‘paragraph’ and all that follows through ‘subsection (c)’ and inserting ‘paragraph (2), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8), (9), (10), or (11) of subsection (c)’; and
(2) in subsection (c), by redesignating the second paragraph (10) as paragraph (12) and by inserting after the first paragraph (10) the following new paragraph:
‘(11) HEALTH COVERAGE PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS-
‘(A) CIVIL PENALTIES- In the case of any employer who fails (during any period with respect to which an election under section 801(a) is in effect) to satisfy the health coverage participation requirements with respect to any employee, the Secretary may assess a civil penalty against the employer of $100 for each day in the period beginning on the date such failure first occurs and ending on the date such failure is corrected.
‘(B) HEALTH COVERAGE PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS- For purposes of this paragraph, the term ‘health coverage participation requirements’ has the meaning provided in section 803.
‘(C) LIMITATIONS ON AMOUNT OF PENALTY-
‘(i) PENALTY NOT TO APPLY WHERE FAILURE NOT DISCOVERED EXERCISING REASONABLE DILIGENCE- No penalty shall be assessed under subparagraph (A) with respect to any failure during any period for which it is established to the satisfaction of the Secretary that the employer did not know, or exercising reasonable diligence would not have known, that such failure existed.
‘(ii) PENALTY NOT TO APPLY TO FAILURES CORRECTED WITHIN 30 DAYS- No penalty shall be assessed under subparagraph (A) with respect to any failure if--
‘(I) such failure was due to reasonable cause and not to willful neglect, and
‘(II) such failure is corrected during the 30-day period beginning on the 1st date that the employer knew, or exercising reasonable diligence would have known, that such failure existed.
‘(iii) OVERALL LIMITATION FOR UNINTENTIONAL FAILURES- In the case of failures which are due to reasonable cause and not to willful neglect, the penalty assessed under subparagraph (A) for failures during any 1-year period shall not exceed the amount equal to the lesser of--
‘(I) 10 percent of the aggregate amount paid or incurred by the employer (or predecessor employer) during the preceding 1-year period for group health plans, or
‘(II) $500,000.

I don't know why all these penalties are in place because there are Liberals out there making the argument that small business will now be better off, because they won't have to pay for health care insurance?

Really? Why all of the above?

Then if your employer can keep YOUR plan why is there this "five year grace period"?

(b) Grace Period for Current Employment-based Health Plans-
(1) GRACE PERIOD-
7
(A) IN GENERAL- The Commissioner shall establish a grace period whereby, for plan years beginning after the end of the 5-year period beginning with Y1, an employment-based health plan in operation as of the day before the first day of Y1 must meet the same requirements as apply to a qualified health benefits plan under section 101, including the essential benefit package requirement under section 121.

I see my mild foray into the provocative question of whether there is actual substance to a comparison of Obama and Hitler has gotten me labeled insane and suffering from ODS.

I freely admit to wariness of Obama. Having the massed followers shut down discussion when Stanley Kurtz appears on radio, the FLAG website inviting citizens to rat out other citizens who express political disagreement, IG firings, etc., don't give me a lot of confidence that Obama's cut from substantially cloth substantially different from ... oh, let's just say, "dictators we have seen in the past" if "Hitler" is too incendiary. And perhaps it is. But Obama has been in power only a short while. I hope that power plus more time is not a formula for more-dictatorial leadership and that our citizens can successfully reassert principles of freedom and liberty that Obama mouths respect for but which do not seem to really live in his heart and animate his political agenda.

Porchlight

principles of freedom and liberty that Obama mouths respect for but which do not seem to really live in his heart and animate his political agenda.

Well said, PD.

Charlie (Colorado)

I see my mild foray into the provocative question of whether there is actual substance to a comparison of Obama and Hitler has gotten me labeled insane and suffering from ODS.

Well, it probably wouldn't have if the comparison wasn't a little crazy and deranged.

bad

Does he have a heart?

JM Hanes

PD:

It's probably safer to substitute Chavez. It works just as well, it's not a Godwin's Law infraction, and contra Hitler, folks around these parts actually seem pretty enthusiastic about the comparison.

boris

"comparison wasn't a little crazy and deranged"

Only a stretch, neither crazy nor deranged.

One might claim that Obama is more like FDR than Adolph except FDR was perfectly capable of fighting and winning WWII (doubt BHO could or would). Nevertheless there were some similarities betwen FDR and Adolph wrt national control of the economy. Plus the German version of a nationalized medical system under AH (&Bismark) is not unlike where Obama's plans appear to lead.

So yeah, AH is better known for the final solution and nothing like that is in the works. Also AH was a vegetarian so that means vegetarians are "like Hitler" too. Yada yada.

If all this carpola looks like it's gonna get implemented things might get a little crazy. If we don't want to have to choose between Obamunism and crazy then the "sensible approach" has to start working. Better sooner than later.

narciso

Actually Correa, from Ecuador, who follows the same pattern, but wears a nice suit, Chavez is too "Wile E. Coyote, in a red beret" ( a line borrowed from Dennis Miller, for Saddamm Hussein) but that's probably too obscure,

Charlie (Colorado)

Only a stretch, neither crazy nor deranged.

Enough of a stretch that it comes off crazy and deranged.

glasater

Well, AH was a wallpaper hanger... Ergo, etc...

JM Hanes

How about Obama as Chavez in a suit then, narciso? I really think lefties are perfectly willing to ignore the dictator part to applaud the successful community organizer improving the lot of the neglected poor by sharing the wealth and providing cradle to grave education for social justice. They don't mind the combattive rhetoric, they see a man willing to take on the U.S. and they admire him for it.

boris

"Enough of a stretch that it comes off crazy and deranged"

Wanna know what seems crazy to me? "Hey everybody, our only chance is to stay calm and always be sensible or it's just going to backfire!"

narciso

Close enough, JM, Chavez always has this lower class shtick, which is the Reverend Wright m.o.

JM Hanes

What boris said!

PD

I know a lot, no make that quite a lot, of conservatives who express concerns similar to yours.

I dont share them, for one reason. This guy makes Jimmy Carter the gutless weasel look absolutely brilliant. He will not be able to pull off any such stunt, he is utterly incompetent and should be greeting at Wally World.

Sara (Pal2Pal)

As mad as I was over Feinstein interfering with Alaska over the wolves, I'm letting her back in my good graces over the following. Delicious!

Today, she's hitting Organizing for America, the astroturf totally genuine grassroots operation of the Democratic National Committee, for misleading constituents into thinking they have scheduled meetings with her. When her offices aren't able to accommodate each constituent, they're understandably upset with her, and she's upset with the White House:

Aides to Senator Dianne Feinstein have complained to the White House about a deluge of visits to her offices by constituents who thought they had an appointment after OFA called on supporters to visit members of Congress, Feinstein’s office confirms to me.

OFA recently blasted out an email to its list asking supporters to “visit” the office of their representatives. OFA asked supporters to sign up in shifts to avoid overwhelming the offices, whereupon supporters received follow-up emails reminding them of the “scheduled visit” they’d chosen. OFA advised them to “call ahead” before visiting.

But some constituents took the follow-up email to mean that they had a hard-and-fast scheduled meeting with their members of Congress, and around 100 such people showed up at Feinstein’s offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles, Feinstein spokesperson Gil Duran says. The visitors got upset when they learned they didn’t have a scheduled meeting, Duran says, adding that Feinstein’s office “expressed their concerns” to the White House.

I wouldn't have expected such community organizer FAIL from this White House, but I guess you get rusty when you're running the country.

Update: The GOP is getting plenty of blow back for this, too, as OFA claims to "schedule" meetings with House Republicans for constituents:

JM Hanes

Feinstein is like that, isn't she, Sara? One day she's a welcome font of common sense, and the next she's executing some crass political maneuver.

Frau Gesundheitsamt

Feinstein has the most common sense when she is up for re-election. That's when she stands at the Mexican border and scowls into the camera to show solidarity with her constituents. That's once six years, however.

Stephanie

Heh. I scheduled a meeting with Linder through the OforA. My minder seems to be ecstatic that I'm going by his office (again). I don't think they are gonna like the message I impart (again).

I did receive an email last night reiterating that he "might not be there" but to make sure I let the staff know how I felt...

Could it be that the "get in their faces" directive is in conflict with this directive.

When you program your O-bots, you need to make sure they have the latest software upgrade...

Me, I'm the virus... ;)
