Per a new poll from the provacateurs at Public Policy Polling we learn that 48% of Republican's disagree with the statement that Obama loves his country (whatever it is!); another 25% weren't sure.
C'mon, people - Obama covered this ground in his April 2008 debate with Hillary, back when she was still bitterly clinging to her prospects in Pennsylvania. When asked about his patriotism and love of country, The Eloquent One kindly explained that Of Course he loved America - no other country could have spawned the Wonder of Me.
SENATOR OBAMA: Well, look, I revere the American flag, and I would not be running for president if I did not revere this country. This is -- I would not be standing here if it wasn't for this country. And I've said this -- again, there's no other country in which my story is even possible; somebody who was born to a teenage mom, raised by a single mother and grandparents from small towns in Kansas, you know, who was able to get an education and rise to the point where I can run for the highest office in the land. I could not help but love this country for all that it's given me.
I couldn't put it better. I only hope Republican respondents would be quicker to say Michelle Obama loves her country. After all, she was quite clear that for the first time in her adult life she was proud of her country (Finally!) for having given us Obama. Better late than never!
Jane:
I doubt that the presidebt has done any work - sit at a desk, write stuff down, think about consequences - work, since he was elected.
I'll say it again, Obama hitting the speakers' circuit/campaign trail is more of a vacation for him than Crawford ever was for Bush.

Notice he hates to mention the name of the country. American flag? "OK, they are forcing me." "But I draw the line at United States, because if I get started on that nasty phrase I have to clean it up with of KKK, and there goes all my perfectly good lies from last year."
