The score at Ft. Hood so far, Muslims 13, Non-Muslims 0.

I think the problem here is the difference between motivation and justification.
Currently is no clear link, and there probably never will be, between the motive for this act and Islam.
That said, when a guy is running around killing at random while yelling “Allahu Akbar“, it’s pretty clear in my mind that he is using Islam as a justification for his acts.

Jack is Back!

Maybe he didn't have a Glenn Beck autographed book at his residence but wait until they find "How to Argue with Liberals" at the house of the lady cop who shot him. That's where the rubber meets the road with our left wing-nuts.

clarice

brilliant. I blogged this. I'm getting sick and tired of being treated as if we were in some backwater where these things draw bloodthirsty avengers out and of innocent convervatives being painted as monsters and monsters as innocent victims.

Captain Hate

Did you really expect anything different from the NYT? What if a jihadi raped and killed MoDo or Frank Rich? What casuistry would they employ to "cover" that?

centralcal

Oh, Captain . . . if a jihadi raped and killed MoDo they would respond exactly the same! Liberalism is a mental disorder.

clarice

A friend just reports the WaPo did the same thing as the NYT.

It's more likely we'll take out pitchforks and assault the nearest newsroom as that we'll head for the mosques.

This part about the nature of the Silver Springs, mosques, council of elders tie to

I'm just glad this stuff is now out there! Obama came into office on a high note. But he misread it all. I find it amazing, actually, to watch him sound so 'off.' And, yes. We are a FREE PEOPLE. That means we don't take direction from the 'talking head,' even when that head is in the Oval Office!

Did Obama make himself unpopular? Actually, he did something better. He made his whole party pariahs. And, in politics, that's the beginning of the Swan Song. I'll even guess, until the republicans recover and find sane leadership, voters will split their tickets. Dividing up power among competing branches. You won't see the TRIFECTA, coming again, soon.

One reason Obama might be re-elected? Nobody's going to call him out on names. Instead, they'll call out members of congress; where the bleeding has only just begun.

clarice

Good catch narciso:
From a ghastly act to a Saudi-backed fundamentalist imam to a Saudi-run designated terror-financing "charity" is not a long trail. It is a small coil of associations that exists in too many US mosques. American Muslims must drive these elements out of their community. The problem's not traumatic stress, much less Islam. It's the ideology, the money and the interests of the Saudi hardliners.
Mr. Obama has made it a goal of his presidency to repair relations with Muslims around the world

Obama's advisor on Muslim relations http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/barackobama/6274387/Obama-adviser-says-Sharia-Law-is-misunderstood.html>has told us that sharia is misunderstood in America, and that a majority of women around the world associate sharia with "gender justice".

Fort Hood police Sgt. Kimberly Munley was not impressed.

His 'harassment' as a Muslim, according to a family member, was apparently due to a bumper sticker (Allah is Love) removed from his car.

There will probably never be any rational motive uncovered because he is just a plain old 'nut'.

Here are a few possible links:

Make war on them until idolatry is no more and Allah's religion reigns supreme - 8:39

O Prophet! Exhort the believers to fight. If there are 20 steadfast men among you, they shall vanquish 200; and if there are a hundred, they shall rout a thousand unbelievers, for they are devoid of understanding. - 8:65

When the sacred months are over, slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them. - 9:5

Fight those who believe neither in God nor the Last Day, nor what has been forbidden by God and his messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, even if they are People of the Book, until they pay the tribute and have been humbled. - 9:29 (another source: ) The unbelievers are impure and their abode is hell. (another source: ) Humiliate the non-Muslims to such an extent that they surrender and pay tribute.

Fight unbelievers who are near to you. 9:123 (different translation:
Believers! Make war on the infidels who dwell around you. Let them find harshness in you. (another source: ) Ye who believe! Murder those of the disbelievers....

When you meet the unbelievers, smite their necks, then when you have made wide slaughter among them, tie fast the bonds, then set them free, either by grace or ransom, until the war lays down its burdens. - 47:4

Muslims are harsh against the unbelievers, merciful to one another. - 48:25

Muhammad is Allah's apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another. Through them, Allah seeks to enrage the unbelievers. - 48:29

pardon me, but in what way does Obama "sidle up to" anything of the sort? his line was:

"We cannot fully know what leads a man to do such a thing."

the subtext is clearly that, since we can't "fully" know, there's no point in asking--just mourn the dead and "move on." (pun fully intended).

that's "don't ask won't tell" national security and is a recipe for national suicide.

the nyt says:

he seemed to urge Americans not to dwell on the faith of the assailant, by reminding the nation of the broad diversity of those who serve.

but where's the broad diversity of those who murder for reasons of "religious" ideology?

Jack is Back!

Clarice,

Remember your first comment when this happened? You ventured that it was an "inside" job of terrorism.

Well, he wasn't the first according to the LUN.

PD

Someone on FOX yesterday was reporting that it was another service member that removed (or defaced?) the sticker, and also keyed his car.

But the day before I also heard a report that in incidents where he was allegedly harrassed, he was actually the agressor. (Perhaps incidents of proselytization, I dunno.)

I don't know if any of this has been confirmed. The reporting of this incident and all that surrounds it hasn't filled me with confidence about the reliability of what we're hearing.

narciso

The same argument was put forward as a rationalization for KSM, PD, someone dunked his shoes in a lake at college, so logically
he would plot to murder 3,000 Americans

clarice

A key thing of course is the radical imams we are paying as chaplains in the military and in our prisons.
We are alsmost as batshit crazy as nancy.

narciso, I wasn't trying to excuse Hasan, just reporting what I've heard. My second para in fact goes against the idea that his actions might have been due to "harrassment" -- if the report is true.

Listen--I think we need to do something. The military is being hamstrung by politically compeled PC so that it cannot take necessary actions against the Akhbars and Hasans in their midst. What can we do to empower them to act for the benefit of the troops? This has to be a morale buster..and it's foolish.

anduril

from wsj article:

Pvt. Smith dived under a desk. He says he waited several long minutes, listening to the terror unfold, until he thought he should make a dash for safety.

As he broke for the door, he saw Maj. Hasan in combat fatigues, moving around the room. His handgun was pointed downward, he said, as though he were methodically shooting the soldiers who had fallen or were crouching, seeking cover.

hit and run

When news broke that the shooting at Fort Hood was carried out by Hasan,a Muslim,Obama went looking for root causes.

The presser, today's radio address, the decision to go to Camp David instead of a trip to Fort Hood...

Since you can't go looking for roots without a shovel,Obama grabbed his firmly with both hands. He's been digging ever since.

Obama is the very embodiment of The First Rule of A Holes.

more:

Kimberly Munley, a 35-year-old police officer, happened to be nearby, waiting for her squad car to get a tune-up, when she heard the commotion. She raced to the scene, according to her boss, Chuck Medley, director of emergency services on base.
The Scene at Ft. Hood

As she rounded a corner, she saw Maj. Hasan chasing a wounded soldier through an open courtyard. He looked as though he was trying to "finish off" the wounded soldier, Mr. Medley said.

"He looked extremely focused," said Francisco De La Serna, a 23-year-old medic who had fled the building and was watching the same scene unfold from a hiding spot across the street.

Ms. Munley's first shot missed Maj. Hasan. He spun to face her and began charging, Mr. Medley said.

The time was 1:27 p.m., just four minutes after the initial 911 call.

Authorities haven't said precisely how many shots were fired during the running gun battle between Maj. Hasan and Ms. Munley. But one of her shots hit Mr. Hasan in the torso, knocking him to the ground. With that, officials say, she quite likely prevented more injuries or deaths on the base.

Ms. Munley took two bullets to her legs. Both entered her left thigh, ripped through the flesh and lodged in her right thigh. She also received a minor wound to the right wrist.

As I've said for years.......the real issue is not whether he followed "true Islam" or "regular Islam" or any Islam, Schmislam.

The real issue is IMMIGRATION. The importation of people from a culture/religion/political ideology that is antithetical to the Western tradition.

Mooooslims do not belong in the West in anything approaching large numbers. And thanks to our immigration policies, their numbers are growing rapidly.

clarice

I only regret that Munley didn't shoot him dead and spare us the circus which is sure to follow.

anduril

the specialist had no way of knowing whether there was more than one shooter:

Specialist De La Serna, the medic hiding across the street, sprinted to the scene as the shooting stopped and put a tourniquet on Ms. Munley, who was fading in and out of consciousness, he said. Then he moved to Maj. Hasan, who had a gunshot wound through the chest. Mr. De La Serna described the wounded major as calm and quiet, conscious but weak, a handgun at his side.

Ms. Munley underwent surgery Thursday night to halt bleeding and faces at least two more operations to remove the bullets in her thigh.

I'm glad the raghead is alive. He needs to be nursed back to health. Then given a quick military tribunal, found guilty and exectuted.

If we can not even execute a jihadi, carrying out an attack on our own soil, then we have lost any semblance to being a sovereign, independent nation and people. We will have become truly "Euro-wimp-ified".

Will this happen? It would be tough to carry out under Bush, but under Barry Soetoro? Not likely. Look for more psycho-babble and introspection and in a few days, it will all be blamed on the USA and our "arrogance" and our lack of accepting "immigrants".

As usual Clarice, forceful and to the point, (and not one typo.)

The enemy is supposedly radical Islam, not Islam itself, but I note that once again the Muslim street isn't condemning Hasan's atrocities. I think this would be the case even if Obama and the media weren't covering for Hasan.

Given their history and the injunctions contained in their holy book (of which I assume they are aware) in my opinion the key difference between Islam and radical Islam is the situation.

1) More jihad
2) More "honor" killings of daughters by fathers
3) More beheadings like the one in Buffalo a year or so ago
4) More pushing and more acceptance of the barbaric Sharia Law

You can not fight a war when you allow the enemy to immigrate and populate your country and even allow them to "serve" in your armed forces. Duh.

Oh they have not felt our "tension" yet but it is rising to fatal levels. The only tension they need to worry about is how much it takes to release a firing pin.

Here's an example of the "tension" that Muslims are feeling in the military...

*** A Muslim veteran affairs organization says it has not received reports of harassment from Islamic soldiers, contrary to claims by a relative of the man authorities say is responsible for the worst mass killing on a U.S. military base.

Abdul-Rashid Abdullah, deputy director of the American Muslim Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs Council, told FoxNews.com that the nonprofit group has not received a single report recently of a U.S. soldier being harassed "simply because he was Muslim." ***

As you were saying,

"A memorial to honor a Sept. 11 victim from a small northwestern Connecticut town has been halted by the unexpected conflict arising from his father's insistence it say his son was murdered by "Muslim terrorists."

Town officials in Kent are balking, saying it would be inappropriate to single out a religious group.

"Ordinarily I would not want a reference to his murder on his memorial, but there seems to be an effort to whitewash what happened that day," said Gadiel, a 61-year-old retired real estate investor.

"We're a very welcoming, caring community," said outgoing First Selectwoman Ruth Epstein, who did not seek re-election this year. "To disparage a particular religious group would not be appropriate. There are things that are just insensitive and we feel we don't want here."

Thank you, Clarice, for your fervor. And Jack for the Investors.com article "Jihad's 5th Column." I'm stunned that there have been so many previous known incidents already. This is actual AQ infiltration of our Armed Services (Army, Navy, Marines listed) and this one:

"• Army Sgt. Ali Mohamed trained Green Berets at Fort Bragg's elite special warfare school before stealing military secrets for al-Qaida and helping plan bombings at three U.S. embassies in 1998."

There's no time for debate and dithering; this is serious.

BR--I have to run out for dinner soon--Maybe we ought to detail all the attacks by Moslems in our military against us--there was Akhbar in Kuwait, Hasan, Mohammed (thanks for remembering)..Any others--I think it's time to write an article on all this B.S.

BR

Here are more of the intelligence-related listings from that article:

• Navy Signalman Hassan Abujihaad last year was convicted of tipping off al-Qaida to battle group movements in the Persian Gulf, including disclosing classified documents detailing the group's vulnerability to terror attack.

• Army reservist Jeffrey Battle in 2003 pleaded guilty to conspiring to wage war against the U.S., confessing he enlisted "to receive military training to use against America."

• Army reservist Semi Osman in 2002 was arrested for providing material support to al-Qaida and pleaded guilty to weapons charges after agreeing to testify against other terror suspects.

• Marine Abdul Raheem al-Arshad Ali trained at a suspected al-Qaida camp and was charged with selling a semi-automatic handgun to Osman.

• Army Spec. Ryan Anderson in 2004 was convicted of leaking military intelligence to al-Qaida terrorists, including sensitive information about the vulnerabilities of armored Humvees.

Extraneus

Thank you for the Koran quotes, Ignatz. I was about to go do that myself.

Muhammad posed as an apostle of God. Yet his life is filled with lustfulness (12 marriages and sex with a child, slaves and concubines), rapes, warfare, conquests, and unmerciful butcheries. What Muhammad produced in the Qur'an is simply a book of gibberish consisting of later evil verses abrogating (superseding) earlier peaceful verses. These verses in Arabic poetically "tickle" the ears of Arab listeners. Islam is a caustic blend of paganism and twisted Bible stories. Muhammad, its lone "prophet", who made no prophecies, conceived his religion to satiate his lust for power, sex, and money. He was a terrorist.
Anyone who says that their book doesn't tell Muslims to kill infidels, to smite their necks, to "fight with the people till they say, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah'," is lying.
Sura 22-9: “As for the unbelievers for them garments of fire shall be cut and there shall be poured over their heads boiling water whereby whatever is in their bowels and skins shall be dissolved and they will be punished with hooked iron rods.”
There are dozens of quotes like this, maybe hundreds, and there are hundreds of millions of people who revere these words. Islam is a cancer.
Jim Ryan

Koran is the tame stuff. In the Hadiths we see that Mohammad did stuff like Hasad did. A lot.

My neighbor is a Coptic christian whose family emigrated from Egypt and has read the Koran in Arabic. His take on the Koran is that too many use the first part as a fig leaf for the second part when Muhammad decided he really wanted power, land and lots of wives. Whatever strange heady mix of Judaism and Christianity influences that informed the first half gave way to nothing but rules for conquest and occupation of the worst sort. He cannot believe that any sane westerner can buy into the ROP nonsense.
